Reporters Nominated for Media Awards for Covering CSA and Exploitation

Two Telegram (St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador) reporters have been nominated for Beyond Borders ECPAT Canada’s 2015 Media Awards.

Ashley Fitzpatrick
The awards recognize coverage of child sexual abuse and exploitation issues.

"We are thankful to the noble and humble Canadian journalists who continue to advocate for survivors of child sexual exploitation by telling their stories," said Christine Krahn-Matias, co-chair of Beyond Borders ECPAT Canada Media Awards, in a news release.

"Each story provides an opportunity for people across our country to learn how to protect children from sexual exploitation, empower survivors, and persevere in the fight against child sexual exploitation."

Tara Bradbury
Ashley Fitzpatrick has been nominated for a two-part feature printed in February called “Child sexploitation knows no borders.”

Tara Bradbury has been nominated for her story “Courage to come back,” which was published in April.

Fitzpatrick and Bradbury are among 15 nominees in the English print category.

The awards will be presented at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg on Nov. 16.

Congratulations on the nomination girls.  You are my heroes today, God bless you; keep it up.
