Director confirms mosque fair
The educational institution is the Polytechnic School on Unterfeldstraße in Bludenz. The director confirmed the mother’s account and made the following statement: At the beginning of school, according to the director, there was a mass in a Catholic church – with an imam (leader in Islam, editor’s note) as a guest. This imam then invited the Catholic pastor to pay a return visit to the only mosque in Bludenz – that’s how this closing service came about. The response would have been good.
Imam as prayer leader for Catholic students
Apparently not with all parents who do not want to understand why their children with a Catholic confession of faith should pray in a mosque, even if the imam will hold the mass together with a Catholic priest. According to the school director, this should take place on Thursday, July 6th.
The headmistress did not want to reveal how high the proportion of Islamic youngsters is in her school. Statistics Austria published data in 2021 according to which 12.2 percent of the population in Vorarlberg belong to Islam and 68.3 percent to Christianity.
It is likely that the Islamic population of the school is much higher than 12% as many Catholic Schools in Europe are preferred by Muslim parents to public schools for their higher standards of behaviour and dress.

At least eight people were injured in a fight in front of the Görlitz discotheque “Zwei Linden” last night. According to the police, a group of 12 to 20 foreigners attacked several Germans who were attending a graduation party. The attackers attacked the guests with broken bottles. Five Germans between the ages of 18 and 48 were injured – five of them so badly that they had to be treated in hospital. The police took twelve suspects into custody. They are Syrians, Turks, Iraqis and Lebanese aged 19 and 35. Of them, three were injured.
Guests of the disco were initially insulted from the group, according to the police. Then bottles flew against the front door. Visitors were attacked with the broken bottles. Damage of at least 3,500 euros was caused to the event building, reports Radio Lausitz.
