Leduc man pleads guilty to luring, sexually assaulting nearly two dozen teenage girls
Campbell Fergusson was facing more than 100 charges
A Leduc man has admitted to luring and sexual assault involving nearly two dozen teenage girls in the Edmonton area.
Campbell Fergusson, 51, who was facing more than 100 charges, pleaded guilty Oct. 22 to seven offences, including luring, sexual interference and making child sexual abuse material.
The Alberta Law Enforcement Team, or ALERT, arrested and charged Fergusson in July 2025 after receiving an online tip. The team said then there could be more victims.
Three months later, ALERT announced more charges. In total, Fergusson was charged with more than 100 offences against 29 girls as young as 12.
According to ALERT, Fergusson targeted the girls via social media then encouraged in-person meetings to assault them.
Fergusson will be back in Court of King's Bench for sentencing next month.
Woman who 'groomed' and sexually abused boy jailed
A woman who "groomed" and repeatedly sexually abused a teenage boy has been jailed for more than nine years.
Bancroft, 64, who initially disputing his age at the time, admitted three counts of sexual activity with a child.
At the court on Tuesday, Bancroft, from Filey, North Yorkshire, was placed on the sex-offenders' register for life and was sentenced to nine years and four months in prison.
Prosecutor Michael Morley said that on the first occasion, Bancroft had given the victim "two drinks of strong rum" before kissing him.
He told the court the child "froze" as Bancroft continued.
"He was stunned. He said he had frozen and remained shocked for a few days," Morley added.
According to the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, he was abused by Bancroft on "at least" 20 other occasions.
The boy approached police in 2023, with Bancroft arrested in March 2024.
She was charged with eight sexual offences against the boy, which she initially denied, in January 2025.
In September, Bancroft pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual activity with a child, accepting it had occurred on at least nine occasions.
Two other counts will lie on file, the court heard, with not guilty verdicts recorded by the judge on the three remaining charges.
'Emotionally wrecked'
In a statement read out by the victim's mother in court, she called Bancroft a "predator" who had taken advantage of her son.
She said the abuse had had a profound effect on her son, who was now "emotionally wrecked".
Defence solicitor Derek Foley said there is "little that can be said and certainly nothing that can excuse or even explain" her actions.
He said Bancroft was "alcohol dependent and drinking heavily, and it was in that context that she took advantage of a young child".
He added she felt a "deep shame" for what she had done, adding: "She doesn't leave the house.
"She has become a recluse. She does recognise the enormity of her offending."
Judge Simon Hickey told Bancroft: "Clearly, you now recognise that what you have done has caused immeasurable harm.
"There's certainly an element of grooming here."
Man who raped and sexually abused young girl jailed for eight years
A man who raped and sexually abused a girl - beginning when she was 10 years old - has been jailed for eight years.
The victim told the High Court in Inverness how she protested during the abuse, while Robb denied the charges and accused the woman of "fabricating" her account.
He was found guilty of lewd and libidinous behaviour and practices, indecent assault, and rape. A judge said Robb had caused her "substantial" harm, and that she had since lived with panic attacks, depression and suicidal thoughts.
During the trial, the woman told prosecutor Anne Bennie how she could still hear her own voice saying "stop".
Jurors spent two days deliberating before finding Robb, of Alves, Moray, guilty of three charges.
Judge Simon Collins KC remanded Robb in custody and deferred sentencing for the court to obtain a background report.
When the case called in Edinburgh for sentencing, judge Collins spoke of what Robb, a first offender, told a court-appointed social worker.
He said it was clear that Robb, did not accept the verdict.
Collins added: "Inevitably therefore he expresses no remorse or victim empathy, but rather accuses the complainer of fabricating her account for various malicious reasons."
In an interview with the Press and Journal newspaper, the woman thanked the jury for "finding the truth" in her words.
She said: "I will never know who I could have been, who I should have been if the trajectory of my life wasn't so cruelly changed.
"I summoned the strength to file a report over three years ago. It has taken until now for me to have my day in court – sadly, this is a reflection of how many cases there are."
Robb was placed on the sex offenders register for life. Judge Collins also imposed a lifelong non-harassment order on Robb, banning him from contacting his victim.
Pakistani father arrested for allegedly sexually exploiting own children online
A father accused of filming his children for international buyers is among the suspects investigated in Pakistan's expanding crackdown on online child exploitation.
Pakistan’s National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has arrested a father accused of producing and selling sexually abusive videos of his own young children through an international online network, officials announced Sunday, as separate investigations uncovered suspected exploitation involving minors, digital platforms, and overseas customers.
Speaking at an October 25 press conference in Islamabad, National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Additional Director Mohammad Shoaib Khan said the suspect had allegedly filmed his young children and sold the material through private Telegram groups, receiving payments in cryptocurrency.
Khan described the case as unprecedented in Pakistan, saying it was the first known instance of a father being implicated in producing and selling such material involving his own children. The claim has not been independently established.
The suspect, from Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan, was arrested with help from international law enforcement agencies, Khan said. Investigators recovered digital evidence, including footage of animal abuse, and identified possible connections to Islamabad, Multan, and southern Punjab. Efforts were continuing to identify and arrest other suspected facilitators.
Authorities have not publicly identified the suspect or the children.
