Ex-vice president for Walt Disney found guilty of repeated sex abuse involving girl in Portland

MULTNOMAH COUNTY, OR (KPTV) – A former vice president for the Walt Disney Company has been found guilty of repeated sexual abuse involving a young girl in Portland, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office says.
Michael Laney, 73, was found guilty of four counts of sexual abuse in the first degree. The judge also acquitted Laney of three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree.
Evidence presented during trial showed that in March 2017, a young girl disclosed she had been sexually abused by the Laney. The disclosure was first reported to law enforcement in Washington state where the victim lived at the time of her disclosure. The Portland Police Bureau assumed the investigation after it was determined that the abuse had occurred in Portland starting in approximately 2009 when the victim was about 7 years old, the attorney’s office says.
The court found sufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Laney was guilty of repeated sexual abuse involving the girl.
While conducting their investigation into the first reported disclosure of rape and sexual abuse by the defendant, PPB detectives learned of other allegations of sexual abuse involving Laney.
One person told law enforcement Laney had sexually abused her while she was a minor in approximately 2007 when she lived in Portland, but the court found there was not sufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Laney was guilty of this allegation.
CBS fires female staffer who may have leaked Epstein rant video of ABC anchor
CBS has reportedly fired a female staffer formerly with ABC, suspecting her of having leaked the hot mic tape of anchor Amy Robach in which she complained about the channel spiking her interview with Jeffrey Epstein’s victim.
ABC chose to inform its competitor of the traitor in their midst after considering its options and realizing there was little it could do to her on its own, since the staffer had left ABC for CBS, the report said. Had she still worked at ABC, the leak would have been a “fireable offense.”
It’s not known if the staffer leaked the fateful clip to Project Veritas herself or merely passed it on to someone else who did. Either way, ABC has been “pursuing all avenues” to find the source of the leak since its publication on Tuesday rocked the network, a company spokesperson stated, adding that “we take violations of company policy very seriously.”
In the video, Robach laments that the network shelved her report on well-connected pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, featuring an interview with one of his most outspoken victims, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, three years ago.
“We had everything!” Robach said into a hot mic, noting the solid sourcing and a thoroughly juicy scoop implicating former president Bill Clinton, Britain’s Prince Andrew, and a slew of other powerful individuals. ABC shot back that the story lacked “enough corroboration” – though that hasn’t stopped them from airing dodgy stories in the past..
The firing of the (supposed) whistleblower incensed some who have been following the Epstein saga. Not only had ABC spiked the story, supposedly – as Robach claims in the tape – because its owners are part of a “network of people” implicated in the now-deceased financier’s crimes, but they had hounded the leaker out of her job. Whose side, many wondered, was the media actually on?

Alan Dershowitz sued by Epstein victims lawyer for campaign of liable

Longtime Democratic Party legal apparatchik David Boies is suing longtime legal commentator, Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz for defamation. The subject matter of the complaint concerns Dershowitz’s late former client, convicted sex offender and accused child sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
“In the more than half a century during which [Boies] has practiced law, he has been the subject of considerable public praise and criticism; some of both of which was reasonably justified, some of both less so,” the lawsuit begins. “However, never has he been the subject of sustained, false, accusations of criminal conduct like those leveled by [Dershowitz] since at least November 2018.”
The filing plays up Dershowitz’s association with Epstein and notes that he “has also been personally accused under oath by two women of sexually abusing them when they were young."
"In an effort to distract attention from his own misconduct, [Dershowitz] has engaged in a campaign to attack and vilify each of the lawyers who have represented his victims, one of which is [Boies].”

French culture ministry official spiked 200 female interviewees’ drinks with diuretics to watch them URINATE

For 10 years, Christian N. slipped diuretics into the drinks of young female job candidates, then took them on lengthy tours of the city until the drug kicked in, forcing them to urinate out in the open while he hid them from the public with his jacket and watched. He also sneaked photographs from up their skirts as they sat before him in his office.
The former deputy regional director of cultural affairs for the Grand Est region, Christian N. documented the details of his perversions in a spreadsheet, that contained nearly 200 names and behavioral notes, by the time he was finally caught in the act last June and suspended from his post that October. A year later, he has finally been brought to account for his disturbing acts, but questions swirl as to how he was able to get away with his dirty deeds for so long. French outlet Libération spoke to the official, to five of his victims and to several ministry sources, publishing a lengthy investigation of the case on Thursday.
Charged with administration of a harmful substance, sexual assault by a person abusing his position of authority, photographic breach of privacy, and drug law offenses, Christian N. was indicted late last month. He has admitted to drugging and photographing the women, calling his behavior “compulsive” and claiming he wished he had stopped before things got out of hand, though he estimated he’d only victimized 10 to 20 women. While one of his victims was hospitalized with a severe urinary infection, he claimed he was unaware the diuretics he’d used could cause medical issues.
The minister acted out his watery fantasies mostly on young female job candidates, many seeking their first employment, which limited his victims’ recourse. Last June, however, he was seen by a colleague photographing the legs of a subprefect of Moselle during a meeting and reported this to his superiors. When investigators looked at his computer, they found the spreadsheet – titled “Experiments” – containing the record of his deviance.
Known sarcastically as “the photographer” among employees of the ministry for his tendency to take creepshots of women’s legs in the cafeteria, Christian N. shockingly spent two years on the High Council for Equality Between Women and Men. He previously headed Human Resources for the department, leaving his victims nowhere to turn – he was the authority they would have reported him to.
At least one victim said she wrote letters to his supervisors, only to receive no response; another went to the police, only to be told he was an individual of high standing and the complaint would not be taken seriously, according to Libération.

Former All-American college football player arrested on child sexual assault charges in Fla.

A Lehigh Acres man who played briefly in the NFL and was a three-time All-American at Liberty University, has been arrested on charges of sexual assault and lewd and lascivious behavior involving two children 5 and younger.
According to court documents, Lunsford committed sexual acts on the children between January 2017 and July 20 of this year.
The sexual activity was discovered by the mother of the children after one of them described seeing Lunsford naked. She also described other sexual acts.
She also said Lunsford would take photos of her and her sister's genitals with his cell phone.
Additionally, the 5-year-old told investigators she did not feel safe at Lunsford's home.
A change in the 5-year-old's demeanor in 2018, from outgoing and happy to sad was reported by several people interviewed during the investigation.
A teacher said the older sister stopped drawing colorful pictures and instead drew black hearts and similar pictures. The teacher passed the drawings to the girl's mother.
The mother reported the incidents to the Florida Department of Children and Family Services in July and a Sheriff's Office investigator filed an additional report.
Investigators collected sheets, a playpen, clothing and other items from Lunsford's home.
During an interview with investigators in July, Lunsford denied the sexual contact and also declined to take a polygraph test, court documents said.
Lunsford played football at Evangelical Christian School. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound kicker signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Francisco 49ers in 2016, playing in three preseason games. He was released by the 49ers and picked up by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in January 2017. He was cut by the Bucs soon after and then picked up by the Seattle Seahawks in March 2017.
Lunsford next played for the Florida Tarpons in a semi-professional arena football league.

From a makeshift podcast studio constructed in her room at Bally's Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, Kate* was thrilled to be interviewing her professional hero, comedian John Crist. She and her boyfriend drove to Las Vegas in May 2017 just to record this interview—and everything was going great. When the interview ended, Crist even stayed and chatted with them for a while.
"I opened up about my mental health, what it's like being in the industry, addiction struggles and how he inspired me to create this podcast and do interviews," Kate says. "It was at this point John confided in both my boyfriend and me that he was a sex addict. Both my boyfriend and I felt it was cool how open he was about his past, and I continued to feel grateful and excited I was getting to meet my comedy idol. Moreover, I ... was so excited to have a mentor I had so much in common with."
So she thought nothing of it when Crist asked her for her number before he left. Or when he later added her on Snapchat and immediately began messaging her. Or when he invited her out for the evening—just the two of them.
Kate says she eagerly accepted, told her boyfriend about the meeting and then left to meet Crist. When she reached his apartment, he met her outside, suggested they rollerblade, and invited her upstairs to "grab a few things" for the trip. Upstairs, he gave her a water bottle full of raspberry vodka and poured himself whiskey in a Snapple bottle.
Drinks in hand, they rollerbladed along the Venice boardwalk and talked. He reiterated how talented she was and how he could help her career. He also bladed behind her so he could "enjoy the view."
"I was truly blinded by his celebrity status," Kate says. "There were a few moments I thought, 'Hey, this is kind of weird,' but the same phrase kept playing through my head that stopped me from leaving: 'It's OK. He's a Christian. He won't do anything inappropriate.'"
Soon Kate had consumed half the bottle of vodka Crist gave her. Intoxicated, they took off their blades and ran into the water. Once there, she says Crist grabbed her and tried to kiss her, and in her drunken state, she struggled to push him off. He told her in crude terms how much he wanted to have sex with her and continued to pursue her. In response, she tried to explain that she had a boyfriend and only desired a mentoring relationship with Crist, not a sexual one. Eventually, he relented.
She rollerbladed back with him to his apartment to get her bag. Once there, Crist again grabbed her, crudely propositioned her for sex and begged her to stay. She pushed him off, left and—on the verge of blackout drunk—called an Uber to bring her home. The next morning, she told her boyfriend what happened. (Her boyfriend confirmed to Charisma the accuracy of all points of Kate's testimony for which he was present. On the points for which he was not present, he says her testimony to Charisma matches what she told him the next day.)
Crist later messaged Kate that their evening together was "the best day of [my] life" and that he couldn't stop thinking about all the things he wanted to do to her.
"The one thing that stopped me from believing he was creepy is John so proudly parades his face as a Christian," Kate says. "I've let myself believe that just because someone is a Christian means they won't do something intentionally bad. But the truth is, John invited me to his apartment with the intention of sleeping with me after shaking hands with my boyfriend."
