57-year-old Toronto man charged with using Snapchat, TikTok, and Fortnite to lure children

A Toronto man who allegedly used Snapchat, TikTok, and Fortnite to lure and exploit at least 15 children in Canada, the U.S., Australia, and the U.K. is facing 68 charges.

Police revealed Wednesday that they received a report in March about child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM) being uploaded to social media.

That led police to execute a search warrant at a residence near Broadview Street and Danforth Avenue in April. Investigators said they found electronic devices that belonged to the accused and contained CSAEM.

Police said they also discovered the suspect had used false personas and identities—including pretending to be a female—to lure and exploit children online.

Metin Ugur, 57, was arrested on April 16 and charged with two counts each of accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material and possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, among other offences.

The name Ugur is of Turkish origin and so probably indicates a Muslim bent. Note that the girls he lured were from English-speaking and generally white countries. This makes me wonder if he, like the UK's Pakistani Muslim groomers, believed he had the right to abuse little white girls because they were kafir?

Police alleged that he used the aliases “Chase_woolf,” “Chase_woolf13,” “Noah.scout,” “Noah_scout_13” for his male online persona and “Hey_woolfie” for his female persona. They said that Ugur also used Discord and Instagram to communicate with his victims.

As the investigation unfolded, police said they located additional victims located in Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, as well as in the U.S., Australia, Scotland, and England.

Investigators laid an additional 61 charges against Ugur as a result, including 14 counts of luring a person under 18 years old and seven counts of making available sexually explicit matter to a person under 18 years old.

“Internet Child Exploitation has no borders, and neither do our investigations. The investigation is ongoing, and we will go where the evidence leads, working with our local and international partners to identify potential victims,” Det. Sgt. Alicia Murray, of the Sex Crimes Unit - Internet Child Exploitation, said in a statement. “Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward.”

Police told CTV News they do not have a photo of the accused.

 Seven Afghan refugees charged over child sexual exploitation

Seven men have been charged with a total of 40 offences as part of an investigation into group-based child exploitation.

Norfolk Police said the men - six aged 20 and one aged 21 - were all Afghan nationals and were arrested on Wednesday following raids on six addresses in Norwich and one in Dumbarton.

An eighth suspect was arrested in Ireland

The charges relate to two girls, aged in their early to mid-teens at the time of the alleged offences, and are said to have happened between August 2023 and May 2025 in Norwich.

All seven men spoke via interpreters to confirm their names, ages and addresses when they appeared before magistrates in Norwich earlier.

Police said the men's immigration status was "refugee".

Five of the defendants entered the country on small boats, according to the police. One came to the UK concealed on a lorry and another arrived via a port.

None of them had lived at asylum hotels in Norfolk, nor did the alleged offences happen at a hotel housing asylum seekers, the force added.

Names and faces of six Halifax men jailed for sexual abuse as brave survivor commended

Detectives have commended the outstanding courage of the survivor following the sentencing of the men at Bradford Crown Court today for multiple sexual offences including rape.

The offences were committed against the girl in the Calderdale area in the 2000s.

In a statement read to the court, she said: “The abuse took away my sense of safety.

"It took away my trust. It has affected every part of my life, my relationships, my family, my education, my employment my physical and mental health, my confidence, and the way I feel in the world.

“Even now, I struggle to let people in. Even now, I am on edge, afraid that someone might take advantage of me again.

"The shame, the guilt, the self-blame I carried for years made me feel so isolated and alone.”

"This was not just a single moment in my life, it was a serious of events, a violation that leaves lifelong scars.

"I am trying to heal, but the harm done to me was deep and its effects are everlasting.”

Police were made aware of the offending in 2019 when the survivor came forward to disclose the abuse she had suffered.

An investigation was launched by specialist safeguarding detectives resulting in suspects being arrested and charged.

Following a six-week trial which began in February of this year, six men were found guilty by jury.

Those sentenced today were:

Mohammed Shehban, 42 and from Halifax, was sentenced to 14 years in prison for two counts of rape.

Mohammed Adnan, 44 and from Halifax, was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison for one count of sexual assault.

Amazar Ali, 54 and from Halifax, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for two counts of sexual activity with a child.

Naveed Anjum, 50 and from Halifax, was sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison for one count of sexual activity with a child.

Imran Hussain, 50 and from Halifax, was sentenced to seven years in prison for one count of attempted rape

Adal Manaf, 48 and from Halifax, was sentenced to eight years in prison for one count of rape.

e Smith, of Calderdale Police, said: “The survivor in this case endured dreadful sexual abuse at the hands of the six men jailed today and has showed outstanding bravery in helping us bring them before the courts.

“By reporting these offences and supporting a prosecution she has proved that the passage of time is no barrier to achieving justice.

“As her statement read to the court shows, the abuse she suffered caused her lifelong psychological distress and trauma which affected every facet of her life as she grew up.

“I hope she can take some comfort from seeing these six men jailed and knowing her courage has helped make these men answer for their crimes.

London paedophile who groomed children as young as 12 online given 10-year jail sentence

A paedophile who groomed children as young as 12 online and tried to meet up with them has been jailed.

David Chellapah, 31, targeted children aged between 12 and 15 on social media, sent sexual messages and incited children to engage in sexual activity, the Metropolitan Police said.

The name Chellapah is of Tamil origin.

Some of his victims were coerced and pressured to produce sexual images and videos.

Officers began investigating Chellapah, of Ealing, west London, after they received intelligence that he was communicating with a child and trying to arrange a meeting to sexually abuse them.

He was arrested on October 17 last year when Met officers intercepted him as he was going to a pre-arranged meeting with a child.

Officers analysed Chellapah’s phone and other devices and identified multiple victims, Scotland Yard said.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — An Iowa family is suing Roblox Corporation, alleging the gaming company routinely facilitates the sexual exploitation and abuse of children. This lawsuit comes after a 13-year-old girl who was missing from Iowa was found in Jefferson County over the summer. 

Thirty-seven-year-old Martin Amaya Sandoval Jr. of New Market is charged with four counts of aggravated statutory rape after kidnapping the girl from Des Moines and taking her back to his home in Jefferson County, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said. 

According to court records, Sandoval admitted to having sex with the minor "on and off, making it four times in total."

According to investigators, Sandoval was talking to the 13-year-old via Snapchat and Instagram. The girl was initially reported missing from her home in Iowa on May 24 after last being seen around 11:30 p.m., according to our Iowa sister station, WOI.

Roblox, an online platform and game creation system, is free to download and play across a variety of devices. The platform draws millions of daily active users, primarily kids and teens, to play games and interact with others in a shared virtual environment. 

The lawsuit asserts that a 13-year-old was groomed by an adult they met on Roblox for several months. The grooming eventually led to the child being kidnapped from a home in West Des Moines and trafficked across multiple states, where they were "repeatedly sexually abused and raped." 

“It was a case where another adult pretending to be a kid was grooming and building a rapport with a minor," Martin Gould, one of the family's lawyers, said. "[He] essentially got them to come outside their home as part of this ongoing grooming and kidnapped them.”

The suit alleges that Roblox failed to implement adequate safety features into the app, such as age-verification screening.

"Roblox was (and still is) a haven for adult sexual predators and pedophiles who use the unreasonably dangerous and negligently designed app to gain access to and prey upon thousands of unsuspecting children, resulting in countless children being groomed, exploited, sexually abused, and even kidnapped and raped," the lawsuit reads in part.

Now, the family is seeking damages from Roblox. And they're not the only one. Their lawsuit is one of over 250 the SGGH and Milberg Law Firms are taking up against the platform. They argue there's not enough regulation involved.

“Whenever you deal with something that you know is so accessible to millions and millions of minors, there need to be safety precautions that are the standard of care. That's what this is all about," said Mike Grieco, another lawyer on the case. 

In a statement to 10News affiliate Local 5, Roblox said in part, "Roblox is deeply committed to the safety and well-being of our community, with tens of millions having positive experiences every day. Protecting children is a top priority, and we invest significant resources in advanced safety technology, including a combination of machine learning  and human moderation teams working 24/7 to detect and address inappropriate content and behavior."

A spokesperson for Roblox shared several steps the company has taken to increase safety on the platform, including: 

• 24/7 monitoring for inappropriate content
• Partnering with law enforcement to combat the sexual exploitation of children
• Suspending or removing users who violate Community Standards
• Removing offensive material and accounts through AI scans, user flags and "proactive monitoring"
• Preventing users under 13 years of age from directly messaging people on Roblox outside games or experiences

Just last month, Roblox announced a new range of safety features, including age estimation technology that uses AI to guess a user's age.
