Paterson, NJ child porn convict arrested again
on same charges
Joe Malinconico Paterson Press

PATERSON – After spending four years in a state correctional facility for distributing child pornography, a 32-year-old Paterson man was arrested Thursday and accused of committing the same crimes, authorities said.

Authorities say they found about 150 files of child sexual abuse on the accused’s phone.

The suspect, Raul Alarcon, had been released from New Jersey’s Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center in Woodbridge in March 2019 after completing his prison sentence, according to state corrections records.

But less than a year after his release, Alarcon came under law enforcement scrutiny again, authorities said.

The Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crime Against Children Task Force received information in February about an Internet user who distributed an image of child sexual abuse via instant message, officials said.

That probe resulted in Alarcon’s arrest on Thursday, according to Sheriff Richard Berdnik. Detectives seized a cellular telephone and a digital camera belonging to Alarcon, the sheriff said.

Alarcon was charged Thursday with maintaining child pornography, distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography, and tampering with evidence, the sheriff said.

Detectives add more sexual abuse charges against former Benton, La teacher
by: KTAL/KMSS Staff

BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS)The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office says more sexual abuse charges have been brought against a former Bossier Parish elementary school teacher for sexual contact with an elementary student.

Aubrey “Perry” Norcross
of Bossier City is charged with an additional charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile via arrest warrant on Wednesday, according to BPSO. It was a month ago on July 6 that detectives also added multiple child sexual abuse charges on Norcross, including rape, molestation, and more.

Because Norcross was an educator in Bossier Parish since 2003, detectives say there are potentially more students he has victimized.

“The sad reality is that there are young boys and girls whose lives have been impacted by this child sex predator,” said Sheriff Whittington.

“We certainly understand how difficult, and even embarrassing, it is for these children and families to come forward and tell their story. But by doing so, Norcross will be held accountable for his horrific actions, and these young people can begin the healing process. Please also know that our agency has received wonderful support from the educators and leadership at Bossier Parish Schools and the professionals at the Gingerbread House.”

Parents need to understand that if their children have been sexually abused, they need counselling in order to deal with the many questions and lies that are swimming around in their brains. Keeping quiet about it, rather than dealing with it not only puts other kids at risk, but it will cause more hardship in the life of your child as they try to grow up with feelings and confusion they just cannot handle on their own. Healing only begins after the truth comes out.

Norcross remains incarcerated in the Bossier Maximum Security Facility in Plain Dealing with a total bond of $3,950,000 on child sex abuse charges that were first made nearly two years ago.

Norcross was first arrested in October 2018 and charged with video voyeurism while he was an elementary school physical education teacher at Benton Elementary School. A couple of days later, he was charged with first-degree rape. Bossier Parish Schools quickly terminated Norcross at that same time.

BPSO says since then, Norcross has additionally been charged with various counts of molestation of a juvenile under the age of 13, indecent behavior of a juvenile under the age of 13, and pornography involving juveniles.

During the initial arrests nearly two years ago, Sheriff Whittington said the Bossier Sheriff’s Office will not rest until all victims are heard. He resonates that same message to this day and encourages others to report inappropriate sexual behavior by Norcross.

Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives are continuing their investigation. They encourage any person, no matter your age, to report any inappropriate physical contact or sexual abuse by Norcross or any other child predator with you or your child, whether it’s recent or years ago. Please contact a detective at the Bossier Sheriff’s Office at (318) 965-2203 or your local law enforcement agency to report the sexual abuse.

“I said it before, and I’ll say it again – as Sheriff, parent, and a grandparent, I fully understand the concerns that parents have when they hear about this type of vile behavior,” said Sheriff Whittington.

“It’s disgusting, plain and simple. I encourage parents to have an open and honest conversation with their children about inappropriate touching and behavior.

“When they are ready to report the abuse, our detectives will be ready to help.”

Joliet Man Sentenced To 15-Years For Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault Of A Child

A 35-year-old Joliet man was sentenced to 15 years in prison in Will County Court on Thursday. Samuel Quintero was sentenced by Circuit Judge Amy Bertani-Tomczak on two counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, a Class X felony, and five counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a Class 2 felony. The sentence also includes lifetime sex offender registration.

Quintero’s conduct was reported in 2016 when the victim was 14. As a high school freshman, the girl began crying at school and told a friend about the abuse. The girl was seen by a counselor, and informed the counselor of the abuse.

In the Victim Sensitive Interview conducted by the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center’s Multi-Disciplinary Team, the victim stated that the abuse spanned a number of years and began when she was approximately six years old. The abuse generally occurred when she spent weekends visiting her father, who was separated from the mother, in his Joliet home.

Quintero’s sentencing followed a bench trial that concluded on June 12, 2020. He will receive 1,323 days of credit for time served. Quintero had been eligible for a sentence of 15 to 127 years in prison.

So, why did he only get 15? Sexually abusing a 6-year-old, and abusing her for 8 or 9 years. 15 years is rather pathetic.

Montana pedophile fled court as jury convicted him of child sex offense
Jacob Geanous, Metro

A pedophile fled court in and went on the run as a jury convicted him of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl. Joshua Aaron Brown, 45, never showed up to court on Wednesday in Billings, Montana after prosecutors finished presenting evidence on Tuesday.

Brown was absent in court while his lawyer announced he would rest and the jury was told to start deliberating on a verdict. Senior Deputy Yellowstone County Attorney Brett Linneweber requested a bench warrant for Brown before the trial resumed on Wednesday and the judge also issued a $100,000 warrant for the fleeing sex offender.

After the warrants were issued, the trial went on without Brown, who was later found in the attic of a farmhouse in Boyd

US Marshal for the District of Montana Rodney Ostermiller told The Montana Standard. ‘But people who are charged with sexual crimes against children, they’re one group of people who especially don’t want to go to jail.’

Brown had been out on bond at the time of his trial. After he fled, Ostermeller said US Marshals received a call from police in Carbon County alerting them of Brown’s location. Deputies found Brown approximately 40 miles from the courthouse in the farmhouse attic and his hiding spot made it difficult for deputies to arrest him safely, so they reached out to the US Marshals. ‘It was already a very high-risk situation, and historically there are no higher risks than arresting a sex offender,’ Ostermiller said.

However, Brown reportedly did not resist while he was arrested. He is currently behind bars at the Yellowstone County Detention Facility. He was ultimately found guilty of sexual abuse of children, although he was convicted while absent from the courtroom. According to Linneweber, Brown was charged with soliciting sexual conduct from a 12-year-old girl.

Woodbridge, Maryland - MS-13 gang members arrested for
beating and sex trafficking 13-y/o girl

Eleven members or close associates of the MS-13 gang were arrested this week relating to the sexual exploitation and physical abuse of a minor in northern Virginia and Maryland.

“Sex traffickers often prey upon the most vulnerable victims in our society, and when combined with the horrific abuses of a gang like MS-13, the effects can be devastating,” said G. Zachary Terwilliger, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. “I have personally handled the prosecution of MS-13 members in northern Virginia for over a decade, including for gang-controlled sex trafficking, and I have led meaningful outreach efforts with the Hispanic community in order to raise public awareness of these serious threats."

According to court documents, in August 2018, a 13-year-old girl ran away from a youth home in northern Virginia and was later introduced to members of MS-13.

Members of the gang beat the girl 26 times with a baseball bat as part of a gang initiation, according to the criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Alexandria.

Gang members then sex trafficked the girl in Virginia and Maryland using the currency of cash and drugs. While in Virginia, men lined up to have sex with her in a wooded area behind one target’s apartment complex, the criminal complaint said. The men gave her drugs in exchange for sex. She also was harbored in various apartments in northern Virginia where men paid her and her handlers cash for sex.

“MS-13 is known for their violence and intimidation, but the horrific crimes alleged in this case show how their cruelty and depravity know no bounds,” said Robert E. Bornstein, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Washington Field Office Criminal Division. “The FBI and our community will not stand by while children are beaten, plied with drugs, and trafficked for sex. We will continue to work tirelessly with our law enforcement partners to disrupt violent gang activity and bring justice on behalf of the innocent victims on whom they prey.”

According to court documents, girl was later beaten again with a bat 26 times. After the second bat beating, she was taken to Maryland, where she was sold to numerous gang members and other customers in exchange for cash, according to court records.

Law enforcement recovered photographs and videos of the girl while being sexually exploited, along with numerous social media messages regarding the trafficking and sexual exploitation of the victim.

“Today’s arrests are a prime example of the commitment and dedication of local police officers and federal agents to safeguard northern Virginia against crime and violence,” said Edwin C. Roessler Jr., Chief of Fairfax County Police. “The Fairfax County police department will continue to use every resource and leverage the full weight of our agency and our federal partners to prevent violence by interdicting organized crime and holding alleged criminal street gangs accountable.”

Among the arrested are:

Moises Orlando Zelaya-Veliz, 25, Woodbridge: Sex trafficking a minor victim under the age of 14 in or effecting interstate commerce.

Sioni Alexander Bonilla Gonzalez, 20, Woodbridge: Sex Trafficking of a Minor and Violent Crime in Aid of Racketeering Activity through assault with a dangerous weapon.

Carlos Jose Turicios Villatoro, 22, Woodbridge: VICAR Assault.

Jose Eliezar Molina-Veliz, 20, Woodbridge: Sex Trafficking of a Minor.

Santos Ernesto Gutierrez Castro, 21, Woodbridge: Sex Trafficking of a Minor

Luis Alberto Gonzales, 31, Greenbelt: Sex Trafficking of a Minor

Reina Elizabeth Hernandez, 48, Hyattsville: Sex Trafficking of a Minor

Nelson Ezequiel Caballero Portillo, 24, College Park, Maryland: Sex Trafficking of a Minor.

Gilberto Morales, 31, Hyattsville, Maryland: Sex Trafficking of a Minor

Jonathan Rafael Zelaya-Veliz, 24. Hyattsville: Sex Trafficking of a Minor

Orlando Alexis Salmeron Funez, 38, Riverdale, Maryland: Sex Trafficking of a Minor

If convicted, each defendant charged with sex trafficking of a minor faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum penalty of life in prison, and each defendant charged with VICAR assault faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison if convicted of that offense.
