A former Pennsylvania firefighter was sentenced to 10 to 20 years behind bars for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy he met on an online dating app in 2019, authorities said.

Carlton Bell
, 29, of Pottstown (Montgomery County), was arrested in January 2020, and pled guilty to involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and sexual abuse of children in April 2021, according to the Chester County District Attorney's office.

On Dec. 24, 2019, East Coventry police received information that a 14-year-old child created a profile on Grindr, --  one of the largest social networking apps for gay, bi, trans, and queer people -- where he met then 27-year-old Bell in September 2019, authorities said. The boy told Bell he was 15.

Bell asked the boy to use Snapchat -- the multimedia messaging app -- to communicate because "those messages would disappear." Later, the two exchanged nude photos and arranged to meet for sex, the DA's office said.

On Sept. 15, 2019, Bell picked the boy up at his East Caln Township home and drove him to his East Coventry home where they "engaged in sexual acts," authorities said.

Four days after the encounter, Bell created a group chat on Snapchat between the victim, a 16-year-old, and a 17-year-old, the DA's office said.

He brought the three minors to his home, where he engaged in "sexual activity" with the victim and the other two minors, authorities said.

Bell was the battalion chief at the North Coventry Fire Company and served as a volunteer firefighter at Limerick, Ridge, and Goodwill fire companies in the Pottstown area, 6abc previously reported.

“This lengthy sentence holds the defendant accountable for his depraved behavior and brings justice to the brave young victim," DA Deb Ryan said.

"We all need to keep a vigilant watch over our youth because sexual abuse of children is far too rampant. Please call Childline at 1-800-932-0313 if you suspect a child is being abused.”

Coons who is scheduled to be arraigned July 22 in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court for three counts of gross sexual imposition of a child younger than 13; two counts of corrupting another with drugs; two counts of sexual battery; two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor; and misdemeanor charges of public indecency and two counts of sexual imposition.

Biddeford, Me school employee arrested on federal

sex abuse images charge

Steven Porter
Portsmouth Herald

BIDDEFORD, Maine — An employee of Biddeford Middle School was arrested Friday on accusations that he possessed child sex abuse images and attempted to send explicit images and video of himself to someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl.

The person to whom Jesse Kiesel, 48, allegedly sent the images turned out, however, to be a law enforcement officer who specializes in investigating internet crimes against children, according to federal court records.

The two alleged offenses occurred in April 2021, and officers executed a search warrant in early May 2021, searching Kiesel's home in Biddeford and seizing his computer equipment and data from his Google account, according to court records prepared and filed by law enforcement.

If convicted, Kiesel faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each charge. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

An employee of Biddeford Middle School was arrested Friday on accusations that he possessed child sex abuse images and attempted to send explicit images and video of himself to someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl.

In addition to the images of Kiesel, court documents describe three graphic images and one video depicting children that police said they found on Kiesel's computer.

Investigators told the court they believe Kiesel used SnapChat, Chat Avenue and Google Hangouts to communicate inappropriately with juveniles online. He allegedly used a personal Google account that listed his Biddeford Schools email address as a backup recovery email address.

When he spoke voluntarily with law enforcement, Kiesel initially denied sending explicit images of himself to juveniles but later admitted that he had done so "maybe once," according to an affidavit prepared by Homeland Security Investigations Task Force Officer Ronald Phillips.

Later in the interview, Kiesel said he had used chatrooms since the late 1990s, that "the 'kid stuff' started approximately one year ago" and that he believes he has an addiction, according to Phillips' account of the interview.

Sin is progressive!

Kiesel's defense attorney, John Scott Webb, did not immediately respond Friday to a request for comment.

At some point during the investigation, law enforcement notified Biddeford Schools administrators that an investigation was underway. Superintendent Jeremy Ray said Kiesel was placed on administrative leave during spring 2021.

Kiesel held the job title "Ed Tech II," according to his LinkedIn profile.

PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)A former Pittston karate instructor has waived his preliminary hearing after being arrested on charges of indecent assault, sexual abuse of children and corruption of minors.

Pittston Police Officers received two complaints against Williams on January 22. Court papers say the alleged abuse took place over years, beginning when the victims were five and six years old and progressed until the victims were 12 and 13.

On Wednesday, Williams faced additional charges, accused of sexually assaulting a 7th underage victim. In this case, Williams is facing charges of aggravated and indecent assault, corruption of minors and indecent exposure.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry to everybody. The family, the community, mostly the kids,” Williams said back in February.

Pittston Police are concerned there could be more victims.

Spring Hill, Tn man charged with 28 counts of sexual abuse of children

Mike Christen
The Daily Herald

Spring Hill resident Samuel Lee Turner has been charged and arrested for sexual abuse crimes against children, following an indictment by a Williamson County Grand Jury in June.

In a June 14 grand jury indictment, Williamson County Grand Jurors found that between 2016 and 2020, Turner, 71, allegedly knowingly, unlawfully and feloniously engaged in numerous incidents of sexual abuse on separate occasions with three minors now ages 20, 18 and 15.

The indictment includes 28 separate counts against Turner for child sexual abuse between 2016-2020.

Some of the victims were between the ages of 13 and 18 at the time of the suspected crimes. The June grand jury report states that Turner used his "position of trust" against the minor victims.

The report found that Turner allegedly engaged in four separate violations of the Child Protection Act, three counts of aggravated sexual battery by an authority figure, two counts of aggravated sexual battery, three counts of aggravated sexual battery by an authority figure, eight counts of statutory rape by an authority figure.

The jury also charged Turner with one act of sexual battery by an authority figure, four acts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after obtaining less than 50 child sexual abuse images between September 2019 and and July 2020.

He also faces a charge for tampering with evidence sometime in July 2020.

Three child victims rescued

The Williamson County Sheriff's Department and Spring Hill Police Department partnered in the investigation.

"The investigation ultimately resulted in the rescue of three child victims," Sharon Puckett, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, said in a media release this week.

The investigation also uncovered "digital evidence of Turner producing and possessing child sexual abuse material," according to Puckett.

Listed as a realtor in Spring Hill, Turner was taken into custody on June 17 by members of the WCSO, SHPD and the Williamson County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

After being arraigned for the charges on June 30, Turner remains in the Williamson County Jail, held on $100,000 bond, according to Puckett.

Represented by attorney E. Covington Johnston, Turner is set to appear for a review hearing before Judge James G. Martin III on Sept. 27.

The ICAC Task Force began investigating Turner after receiving a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning his suspected possession of child sexual abuse material.

The WCSO-ICAC Task Force "works proactively within the community to ensure that violent sex offenders preying on youth in the dark shadows are stopped and ultimately brought to justice." To report a tip related to online child sexual exploitation, submit information to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTipline at https://report.cybertip.org.

Additional information regarding Turner's case was not made immediately available due to the alleged crime involving minors.

Lusby, Md Man Pleads Guilty to Sexual Abuse of a Minor

July 9, 2021

On July 6, 2021, Donald Allen Hayes, 31, of Lusby, pleaded guilty to Sexual Abuse of a Minor, Fourth Degree Sexual Offense, Display of Obscene Item to a Minor, and Solicitation of Child Pornography. He will be sentenced October 1, 2021.

In December 2020, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual assault involving a 13 year old victim. A forensic interview of the child revealed that she spent a weekend in August at Hayes’ residence for a sleepover with his daughter. At that time, Hayes sexually assaulted the minor victim and then asked her not to tell anyone. He also gave her Vape products. After the sexual assault, Hayes initiated further contact with the victim via Snapchat and purchased her Vape cartridges and food items. Hayes would leave these items in the driveway of her family home. The victim told a friend initially, but did not disclose this to authorities until December of 2020.

During the investigation, another minor victim, age 16, was identified. This victim was contacted by Hayes via Snapchat. The victim did not previously know him. During their conversations, Hayes built a connection with the child by flirting with her, complimenting her looks and offering to bring her Vapes and food. Between July 1, 2020 to November 30, 2020, Hayes and the victim communicated daily on Snapchat. Hayes sent the victim numerous explicit photographs of himself and repeatedly requested that the victim send him nude photographs, which she refused. Hayes also requested that she engage in sexual acts with him, which she also refused. Hayes would bring Vapes, food and other gifts to the victim’s home when she was home alone.

In Fall of 2020, Hayes went to a location in Lusby, Maryland, to bring a gift to the victim. When the victim went to the car, Hayes sexually assaulted her. Hayes was subsequently charged and arrested.

On January 21, 2021, Hayes was interviewed by Sheriff’s Office Detectives and confessed to sexually assaulting both victims.

The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about these incidents or possible victims to please contact Detective Yates at Edward.yates@calvertcountymd.gov.
