The analysis of the evidence secured at the scene of the crime is still ongoing.

After the autopsies of the victims, further investigations are necessary to clarify the exact causes of death. During his interrogation, the 35-year-old partner and father of the children confessed and admitted to having suffocated the woman and daughters. 

As a motive he gave previous relationship disputes between him and the woman. The 35-year-old was brought before a magistrate at the district court in Recklinghausen on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the request of the Bochum public prosecutor’s office. An arrest warrant for triple manslaughter was issued against the 35-year-old. Further information cannot be published at the moment, as the exact course of events is the subject of ongoing investigations.
