A western Pennsylvania teacher accused of using her English classroom to have sex multiple times with a 16-year-old male student also taught a class called "ethically speaking" to ninth-graders in the very same space.
Weird, huh? People like her are teaching ethics while God is not allowed in the classroom. And we wonder why society is on a rapid descent.
TribLive.com reports that Maria C. Chappell, 38, has been a 13-year English teacher for ninth-, 10- and 11th-graders at Jeannette High School in Westmoreland County. But now that school is rocked by allegations on Friday that Chappell also used her classroom for sex with a student.
She is also accused of renting a hotel room where she and the student spent a day together in February.
High school Principal Patricia Rozycki reported on March 17 to police that "she had become suspicious due to some things that had been occurring at the school" in regard to Chappell.
When confronted, both the male student and Chappell told school officials that they had engaged in a sexual relationship.
But her attorney, Jeff Monzo, tells TribLive.com that the ethically speaking English teacher doesn't intend to go quietly.
The 38-year-old is charged with having sexual contact with a student, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor.
"She intends to address this; her husband is here to address it," Monzo told TribLive. "She's been a wonderful contributing member of society."
A preliminary hearing is set for April 22 on felony charges of having sexual contact with a student, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor.
Until then she is on electronic monitoring after being freed on $50,000 unsecured bail.
Requirements of her bond forbid Chappell from having contact with the student or his family.
Teachers Aid Charged for sex with students a couple week ago, also in Pennsylvania
Michelle Mellinger, 49, then a teacher's assistant, told one 11th-grade student at McKeesport Area High School that he was on her "bucket list." She then took the student home and had sex with him. It was just the beginning of her sex crimes at the school. (screen shot/WPXI)

Michelle Mellinger, 49, then a special education teacher's assistant, told one 11th-grade student at McKeesport Area High School that he was on her "bucket list." She then took the student home and had sex with him, according to TribLive.com.
But she wasn't done. The self-admitted pedophile proceeded to arrange sexual encounters with other students ranging in age from 15 to 17, the news website reports.
All told, Mellinger stood accused of having sex with four students.
On Monday, she took responsibility for her actions, pleading guilty in Allegheny County to one count of statutory sexual assault, five counts of having intercourse or sexual contact with students and one count of attempted intercourse or sexual contact with a student, TribLive.com reports.
Husband Charged for Molesting Girls
In a disturbing twist unrelated to her case, her ex-husband, William Mellinger, 50, was charged with molesting three girls just the previous week, the news website reports.
Meanwhile, McKeesport Area school officials notified police after a staff member heard students talking about Michelle Mellinger. She was placed on leave and banned from the campus, then arrested last October.
WPXI reported that at one point, Mellinger referred to herself as being a pedophile in this text to one of her victims: "Wow, you look amazing. I just became a pedophile."
On another occasion, she told a student, "I prefer younger people to older people."
Now, she faces a prison sentence and a lifetime of registering as a sex offender.
