So the question is, are there any children's homes in the UK without a history of child sex abuse?
Hollyshaw House, home for about 16 youths in the 1980s, was run by the Social Services Committee of the London borough of Southwark. FOI data released to Cathy Fox Blog reveals the house had a severe vacuum in leadership which, apparently, permitted child on child sex abuse, a 17 y/o girl to have her boyfriend sleep over several times, and staff to run naked in the woods with the children.
A report was made to Southwark Social Services Committee which included references to the incidents, but there are many allegations that the Social Services Director, John Briggs, rewrote the report eliminating all the references to child sex abuse.
Further investigation by Council resulted in Briggs resigning with a large golden handshake, and possibly a nice pension.
