for friends in Jharkhand

Patna: A man from Jharkhand sold off his month-old baby girl to a local villager for Rs30,000 (Dh1,500) to throw a party for his friends. The police are conducting raids to nab the absconding accused.
Police and villagers said the accused, Bhudhram Chatomba, a tribal villager from West Singhbhum district, had promised a party for his friends but had no money to arrange for liquor.
A few days ago he called a couple from a neighbouring village to his residence and handed over his 28-day-old baby girl in exchange for Rs30,000 (about $400 USD).
“I was standing on the balcony of the house when my husband snatched the baby from my arms and handed her over to the visiting couple. I didn’t react out of fear of being assaulted,” the girl’s mother Unwasi Chatomba told the local village council chief who reached her village after getting the information.
According to the woman, the man handed over his baby to the couple saying he already had nine children and that he was unable to take care of her. The accused has two wives. He has six children from his first wife and three from the second.
The woman also told the village council head that instead of spending money on the family, the man had been wasting money on parties thrown for his friends.
The police have begun investigation and are searching for the man who has been absconding. “We have rushed a police team to the spot and are investigating the case but the accused is absconding,” a senior police official from Noamundi police station said over phone on Sunday, wishing not to be named.
The incident came to light after the local village council chief Jayram Barjo visited the house of the accused after getting information about the sale of a baby in the village. Reports said soon after seeing the village head the accused fled the scene.
Tribal villagers from Jharkhand are known to be addicted to Hadia or rice beer, a kind of traditional drink made from boiled rice, various herbs and alcohol.
Large-scale child trafficking and forced surrogacy rackets, primarily exploiting the tribal community, have been reported in Jharkhand. The state accounts for at least 10,000 trafficked children as bonded labourers across the country every year, civil society organisations say.
They are not buying babies for use as labourers. They are either sold to another family or sold to a brothel where they will be put to work right away.
Canada's 'Women's Minister' Calls the Taliban 'Our Brothers'. Trudeau picked his cabinet by their appearance - colour, race, sex, etc., etc. Intelligence and ability are optional. Being white, male, or Christian were strikes against your selection.

If there was any evidence needed to turf out Justin Trudeau and his dimwit cabinet members, his Minister for Women and Gender Equality Maryam Monsef has provided one.
Trudeau called a general election for next month.
During a press briefing Wednesday, Monsef referred to the Taliban as “our brothers” as she appealed to them for safe passage of evacuees from Afghanistan.
Her wording reveals the inner loyalties of the minister, who previously has been less than truthful about her birthplace — she claimed it was Afghanistan, when in reality she was born in Iran.
Liberal politicians have no compulsion to speak the truth. The ends justify the means.
The Indian jurist and social reformer B.R. Ambedkar made an observation about my Muslim community that still resounds 50 years after I read it. Babasahib, as he is lovingly known, had this to say: “Islam is a close corporation and the distinction that it makes between Muslims and non-Muslims is a very real, very positive and very alienating distinction.
“The brotherhood of Islam is not the universal brotherhood of man. It is the brotherhood of Muslims for Muslims only. There is a fraternity, but its benefit is confined to those within that corporation. For those who are outside the corporation, there is nothing but contempt and enmity,” Ambedkar said.
Monsef proved his theory correct. We are all “brothers” of each other. That is what Shariah demands from us and that is what we claim even though we regularly slaughter each other as we do in Iran, Yemen, Syria, Darfur, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
And if the Taliban are Monsef’s “brothers,” I am sure she would merely shrug her shoulders as 400 of her brothers in Pakistan (4th story on link) stripped naked a woman and tossed her body in the air while sexually assaulting her.
On Aug. 14, while the world focused its attention on the plight of women and girls in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan, next door in Pakistan the impending fall of Kabul to the Taliban was a day of joy and celebrations that witnessed a horrific incident in the historic city of Lahore.
Aug. 14 is also the day Pakistan was carved out of India in 1947 by the departing British and is celebrated as Independence Day in the world’s first-ever Islamic state, based solely on the dogma that Islam is a superior faith, and that Muslims are not permitted to live in a country where they are not the majority.
It was just such a celebration at a park known as Minar-e-Pakistan (the tower of Pakistan) in Lahore that hundreds of young men gathered to party.
Also at the park was a group of six young women who came to film the celebrations and post them on TikTok. But this was not to happen.
Seeing women with video cameras, about 400 men surged towards these women and, what started as taking selfies, ended up with the sexually starved mob ripping the clothes of one of the women named only as Ayesha, while the others ran for their lives.
The crowd tossed her naked body in the air while groping her in a sexual manner. Had this been an isolated incident, one would address the crime and fight for the conviction of the guilty. But that is not the case.
Violence against women in Islamic Pakistan is endemic. Pakistan is the sixth most dangerous country in the world for women, according to the Thomson Reuters Foundation, yet the country’s Prime Minister Imran Khan suggested the rise in rape and assault cases was to be blamed on how women dressed and behaved.

“If a woman is wearing very few clothes it will have an impact on the men unless they are robots,” Khan said in an interview in June. “If you raise temptation in society to a point — and all these young guys have nowhere to go — it has a consequence in the society.” That attitude is prevalent among many Pakistanis, even those who choose to leave an Islamic Republic and live in Canada, the U.S. or Europe.
Self-control is a character that is developed in godly people but is lacking in those who are not.
2 Timothy 3:2-4 - 2) People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3) without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4) treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.
No wonder the Karachi-based organization War Against Rape estimates that less than 3% of rape cases lead to convictions.
I suggest these acts of sexual assaults and murder of women stem from the early education of Muslim boys who are made to memorize verses of the Quran which are explicit in declaring women as inferior to men.
Verse 4:34 says: “Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other …. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all).”
Verse 2:223 says: “Your wives are as a tilth (farmland) unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will; but do some good act for your souls beforehand; and fear Allah. And know that ye are to meet Him (in the Hereafter) and give (these) good tidings to those who believe.”
Perhaps Monsef should take the lead and, in the spirit of those Muslim women and men who are fleeing Afghanistan as she did, she should shut down all religious centres that teach and preach such medieval misogyny.
This brother of yours will be beside you, but not with the Taliban. An apology is due, Minister Monsef, but your resignation is preferred.

Notice it is dark and all the participants are men. Women don't dare go out after dark for fear of gang-rape.
Mysuru, Karnataka: Special investigating teams probing Mysuru gang rape case have arrested five persons, including a juvenile, from Tiruppur district of Tamil Nadu. One accused is still absconding and the hunt is on to nab him, Karnataka Director General and Inspector General of Police Praveen Sood on Saturday.
The gangrape had taken place on the outskirts of Mysuru at the foothills of Chamundi hill near Lalitadripura locality on August 24. The gang had assaulted the girl and her friend had demanded Rs300,000 ransom. When they did not get the money, the accused had gangraped the college girl.
“The youth and the girl who were in almost unconscious state were picked up and hospitalized by the father of the boy who came to the spot in a car worrying about their safety after the call,” police sources said.
“The special teams have arrested the accused without the statement from the victim, mostly relying on the technical and scientific evidence,” Praveen Sood said.
All the accused came to Mysuru vegetable market often and consumed alcohol as well as partied before going back to their native place in Tamil Nadu. On the fateful day, they found the couple on the way and targeted them, he said. “They had demanded Rs 3lakh ransom from the couple,” he added.
“It was a blind case. The investigations have to be conducted on technical and scientific evidence. ADGP (Law and Order) Pratap Reddy monitored the investigation by stationing in Mysuru for four days,” he said.
The accused have criminal background and a lot of investigation is needed to be done in the case. It is difficult to say the rape was planned. Rape is rape. We will file the charge sheet in the case as early as possible and request the court to expedite the process of convicting the accused persons, he said.
Mysuru still remains as the safest city in the country and let’s not paint it in the same brush to taint the image of the cultural capital of the state, he added.
The police department did not get any clues from the victim. “I am not blaming the victim. Whoever is in that state, they require more time to come out of the pain and mental trauma. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) experts are working day and night to collect scientific evidence to get conviction of the accused persons. I am confident that the victim will come forward to cooperate during trials. Detection is the first stage. We have done it. Securing conviction is the second stage, we will get it done,” he stated.
“We are in touch with the parents of the victim and we have confidence that they will cooperate,” he underlined.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Araga Jnanendrasaid that there was concern and anxiety among people after the incident. The government had directed the police department to handle the case. “I had confidence. The message should be passed on to those who indulge in such heinous acts that they won’t be spared. The police have passed a good message in this case,” he said.
“The victim has not given her statement and we cannot force her in any way. She is in shock. The victim of another gangrape case in Manipal had given statement 6 months after the incident. Our focus is now on getting the conviction,” he stated.
Perhaps you should not be in too much of a hurry!
Meanwhile, the sources in the police department confirmed that the victim has been taken to the native state by her parents. “She is still in an utter state of shock. Four days after the incident, her condition has not improved. The legal experts and senior police officers also opined that the victim might recover in the company of her parents at native place soon,” the sources said.
Please pray for this girl and her family and friend.
Days after the alleged gangrape, the University of Mysore has barred students from going to the Kukkarahalli Lake area after 6.30pm.
A circular issued by the University Registrar on Friday, also stated that women are restricted from moving alone and relaxing inside the Gangotri campus after 6.30pm.
