HAMBURG. The Hamburg Regional Court has sentenced the Afghan Jaser A. to nine years in prison and subsequent preventive detention for rape, bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, coercion and threats. The 31-year-old had previously held his ex-girlfriend captive for five days in an apartment in Hamburg and severely abused the 22-year-old woman.
With the crime, the man, who earns his money in Germany as a pimp, wanted to force his girlfriend to obey him again and force her into a partnership. While he(she) was being held hostage, he raped the victim several times and even tattooed his name on her stomach. According to the Bild newspaper, the judge accused the convicted man of a “dehumanizing” act.
After a six-month relationship, during which A. sent the then 20-year-old out to prostitution work, she separated from him and fled back to the small town in Lower Saxony where she comes from.
But the Afghan, who had already been convicted of rape once, tracked her down and took her back to Hamburg by car. During the journey, according to the court, he bit her bloodily and stabbed her in the eye with a finger. This was followed by a five-day ordeal in his apartment on the Elbchaussee. There he tied up and gagged the woman until she finally pretended she wanted to return to him. This resulted in her being released, but she went to the police and reported the Afghan.
During the trial, he demanded to be deported to Afghanistan. The judge said this would not be possible for at least four and a half years. If he returned to Germany, however, he would have to serve the remainder of his sentence.
