‘Because I wanted you!’ Syrian asylum seeker
threatened woman with bread knife in a beer garden
translated from “„Weil ich dich wollte!“ Syrischer Asylwerber bedrohte Frau mit Brotmesser im Gastgarten,” Unzensuriert, July 12, 2024 (thanks to Medforth):
A 25-year-old woman will not soon forget this incident in a beer garden on Trabrennstrasse in Vienna-Leopoldstadt (Krieau). A Syrian citizen threatened her with a knife. Reason: He wanted to “have” her!
Bread knife held to throat
The young woman told uncensored that the suspected perpetrator, a 28-year-old man, had constantly come to the table where she, her mother and her grandfather were sitting. The Syrian had been asked several times to go away until he suddenly pulled out a bread knife and held it to the 25-year-old’s throat.
Mother reacts reflexively
With presence of mind, the courageous mother then knocked the knife out of the attacker’s hand and, with the help of her grandfather, held him to the ground until the police arrived. The suspect was arrested on the spot and charged with suspicion of making a dangerous threat. According to the Vienna State Police Directorate, he was taken to a correctional facility after consultation with the public prosecutor’s office.
“Because I wanted you”
The incident occurred on July 7 in broad daylight, at around 8 p.m. according to the victim. The first few days after this experience were not particularly funny, the young woman described the effects of the event. When asked whether she had any idea why the man grabbed the knife, the 25-year-old replied:
When he was lying on the ground, I asked him why he did it. He replied: “Because I wanted you.”
Not untypical of a Muslim man who thinks he has a right to rape any non-Muslim woman he can.
She is now very angry and has been warned about what can happen to you in broad daylight in Vienna, the young woman told uncensored. The alleged perpetrator had apparently carried the bread knife in his backpack. You never know if you might suddenly have to cut a piece of bread somewhere…
