UK government reaches out to Canada and Australia to wage coordinated campaign to ban X
The truth is that mainstream media has long become mostly state-run activist media. Such media is a feature of all fascist states. These struggling media outlets are also mostly paid for by the state, since they cannot make the necessary ratings to be truly competitive. For some time, alternate media has filled the void for much-needed real journalism, and now “citizen journalism” on X and YouTube has generally proven more engaging, truthful and reliable.
Leftist-ruled governments are infamous for trying to shut down any information that is unflattering to them. They crack down on truth-tellers to advance: their DEI objectives, open door migration and the Muslim vote, all in hopes for more votes. Note also how antisemitism has soared in these leftist-run countries.
Leftist leaders invariably try to cover their motives, heedless of how obvious they are. For instance, the most unpopular British prime minister ever, Keir Starmer, pretends that his government’s motive for wanting to ban X is to protect women and children, since X generates “‘deepfake’ nude images of women and children.” Anyone who has been following the UK’s crackdown on its ideological opponents knows that his real reason is otherwise, including Elon Musk:
Elon Musk, who has long been critical of the increasingly censorious climate in Britain, accused Starmer’s government of acting “fascist” and suggested that they were merely looking for “any excuse for censorship” of X.
by Kurt Zindulka, Breitbart, January 11, 2026:
The British government has reportedly reached out to fellow leftist-run Anglo-sphere nations Australia and Canada in an attempt to wage a coordinated campaign to potentially ban Elon Musk’s X social media platform.
Earlier this week, UK Prime Minsiter Sir Keir Starmer said that “all options” were on the table, including a potential ban of X in Britain, over users being able to have the platform’s Grok artificial intelligence generate “deepfake” nude images of women and children.
The recently enacted Online Safety Act — passed by the previous “Conservative” government — empowers broadcasting regulator Ofcom to impose fines of up to 10 per cent of a social media firm’s global revenue, and allows for bans in extreme cases.
Yet, apparently reticent to draw the ire of President Donald Trump alone, Downing Street reportedly held talks in recent days with Canberra and Ottawa to craft a joint response to the tech platform,The Telegraphreported.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who is pushing for more censorship rules in his own country following the Islamist mass shooting at Bondi Beach last month, said, “The fact that this tool was used so that people were using its image creation function through Grok is, I think, just completely abhorrent. It, once again, is an example of social media not showing social responsibility. Australians and indeed, global citizens deserve better.”..
But do they deserve the loss of the only global free speech platform while X-AI corrects its programming?
