Islam in India > Muslim sisters arrested for exploiting non-Muslim women; Ex-Muslim YouTuber attacked - attackers cut down by police

Muslim Sisters Arrested for Forced Conversion and Sexual Exploitation of Vulnerable Non-Muslim Women

In yet another case of running a forcible Islamic conversion and sex racket, police in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh have arrested two Muslim sisters, Amreen and Afreen, residents of Bhopal, along with a male associate, Chandan Yadav. The duo had targeted vulnerable young women with false promises of employment. Bagsewania police took all three of them into custody following the complaints of two women who alleged they were drugged, sexually assaulted, blackmailed, and pressured to convert to Islam.

According to the First Information Reports (FIRs) registered earlier last week, the sisters operated by luring women from economically weaker backgrounds from non-Muslim societies with offers of domestic jobs paying around ₹10,000 ($110 USD) per month, along with free accommodation and food. One of the complainants, a 21-year-old beautician, and another, a 30-year-old domestic worker, told police how they were lured into the racket under false promises of a stable job and better life, but later subjected to exploitation.

Investigators say the victims were gradually drawn into social settings, including parties and private gatherings, where they were allegedly pressured to consume alcohol and intoxicants. The 21-year-old complainant has alleged that in November 2025, she was taken to Abbas Nagar under the pretext of meeting relatives, where Amreen’s brother Bilal spiked her tea and raped her after she lost consciousness. She also added that she was later taken to Ahmedabad, where another accused, Yasir, sexually assaulted her.

Central to the allegations is the role of Chandan Yadav, who was arrested alongside the sisters. The victim’s FIR includes allegations that Chandan Yadav told at least one victim that he himself had converted to Islam and urged her to convert as well. According to the victim’s statement, Yadav claimed he was already “converted,” and said that if she converted to Islam, he would arrange her marriage into a “good family.”

The complainant has alleged that Yadav repeatedly raped her between August 2025 and January 2026, including at his sister’s residence. She told police that whenever she resisted, she was threatened and blackmailed with compromising photographs and videos that had been recorded without her consent. The second complainant has similarly accused Yadav, Bilal, and Yasir of gang rape after she was allegedly drugged. Police sources say electronic evidence has been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.

A particularly disturbing dimension of the case involves allegations of coercive religious conversion. In her statement, the 21-year-old complainant alleged that she was pressured to abandon her faith, made to wear a burqa, and instructed to follow Islamic religious practices against her will. She claimed she was threatened with violence if she refused. Investigators are looking into these claims under provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, in addition to charges under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to rape, criminal intimidation, and conspiracy.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Gautam Solanki confirmed that the probe is expanding as officers analyze mobile phones, WhatsApp chats, photographs, and financial records seized during the arrests. Initial results suggest the possibility of more victims, with several images of unidentified women recovered from the accused’s devices. Police are also scrutinizing the sudden improvement in the sisters’ financial condition, noting that they had reportedly moved from a shabby residence in Abbas Nagar to an upscale villa in Sagar Royal Villas within a short span of time.

While Amreen, Afreen, and Chandan Yadav remain in custody, Bilal, Yasir, and another associate identified in police records as Chanu are currently absconding. Raids are underway to trace their whereabouts.

The case has triggered protests and intense public reaction in Bhopal, with several local groups demanding swift justice and stronger safeguards for vulnerable women seeking employment. Police officials have urged any other potential victims to come forward, assuring confidentiality and protection.

This is not a lone example of sexual exploitation and forced conversion to Islam through networks operating in India. Agencies in states such as Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have reported dismantling organized rackets in which victims alleged patterns of luring, sexual abuse, blackmail, and pressure to convert. In one of the most high-profile crackdowns, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) uncovered a large-scale conversion racket that Jalaluddin, also known as Chhangur Baba, led, targeting some 1500 victims through threats and deceit.

On February 3, 2026, Uttar Pradesh Police arrested Ajfarul Haq, a Mumbai-based Islamic leader linked to AIMIM, in connection with an alleged “love-trap” and forced conversion racket operating out of Basti district. Haq and his associates lured Hindu women into relationships, sexually exploited them, and, in some cases, allegedly pushed them into prostitution, with investigators probing claims that hundreds of women may have been targeted.

Previously, the accused were predominantly men; the Bhopal case shows that the women from the Muslim community are catching up gradually and giving a tough competition to their male counterparts in exhibiting a jihadist mindset. This pattern was visible in another recent case reported in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, where two Muslim sisters, probably minors, drugged and transported their Hindu classmate to their home without her will. Mohammad Anas, the brother of the Muslim girls, then raped the girl, who was in tenth grade.  The heinous act was also recorded, says the victim, who also claimed that she was threatened with the circulation of the video. However, on February 15, she filed a complaint against the sisters, their brother, and their parents.

Muslims stab ex-Muslim YouTuber, attempt to slit his throat, he is in critical condition

“When you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks.” (Qur’an 47:4) Muslims in India, whom the world continues to regard as the innocent victims of “Islamophobia,” continue to behave with increasing aggression and assertiveness, as if they’re certain that any response to their actions will be weak and tepid.

NDTV, February 28, 2026:

Popular YouTuber Saleem Wastik, known for his public identification as an ex-Muslim and appearances on television panels, is in critical condition in a hospital after being stabbed multiple times in his home in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad.

The attack occurred on Friday morning in Ashok Vihar Colony, police said. Two men arrived on a motorcycle without a number plate, wearing helmets that they did not remove. They entered the premises where Wastik, aged approximately 50 and a resident of the area, had set up a small office within his house, and stabbed him repeatedly in the neck and abdomen.

An attempt was made to slit his throat, according to accounts from the scene. Local residents and family members assisted in rushing him first to a nearby 50-bed hospital. Doctors there assessed his injuries as life-threatening and referred him by ambulance to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital in Delhi, where he remains under critical condition and under treatment.

Police received the initial alert at approximately 8:00 am via Dial 112, reporting that a man had been stabbed by two unknown individuals in the Ali Garden area….

The complaint names two unidentified occupants of the vehicle involved in the attack, along with Ashfaq, Sonu, Shahrukh Neta, Bhati Builder, and a local AIMIM leader Ajgar.

Usman has alleged that these individuals orchestrated the assault on his father and has called for evidence to be collected and arrests made….

Wastik, who has appeared on several programmes and maintained a presence on social media platforms including YouTube, has previously been in the news for statements critical of the Muslim community and aspects of Islam following his renunciation of the faith. Police officials have indicated that the motive for the attack is under investigation.
