American Horror Stories > Parents of the Year Candidates - Raising 16 filthy, feral children in Ohio; Menlo College student drugs and rapes a 12 y/o

Ohio house of horrors dad was wanted for perverted behavior when 16 ‘almost feral’ kids were found

The dodgy Ohio dad accused of keeping 16 “almost feral” children in a feces-infested house was wanted for flashing his neighbors during one wild week this spring, records show.

Gary Siders, Jr., 36, exposed himself to people outside the Ohio hellhole at least four times in May, according to court documents.

Siders flashed his “private parts” on May 23, May 27, May 29, and May 31, court documents state.

The criminal complaint was filed on June 30 — the same day that authorities executed a search warrant that exposed the deplorable squalor that he, his wife and his parents allegedly kept the children in.

Authorities had no idea that the 16 “almost feral” kids were in the Vinton County home when they arrived to serve Siders with the warrant for his arrest.

The children — ranging in age from 18 months to 18 years — were allegedly kept isolated in a 12-foot by 12-foot room littered with human waste.

“Some of these children couldn’t even speak,” Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson said earlier this week.

“This is terrible. They looked like almost feral animals. It was terrible. So when we’re talking reading, writing and education, we’re talking a whole other level of expectations here. It’s hard enough just to get these kids to be able to – the 18-year-old can’t spell her name.”

Siders, his wife, Elizabeth Siders, 33, and his parents, Gary Sr., 73, and Christina, 66, were arrested and face multiple charges of endangering children.

Siders was 18 years old and had only finished ninth grade when he married Elizabeth in 2008, who was 15 at the time, according to records in Mason County, West Virginia.

Officials described the children as “almost feral animals.”

Their now-18-year-old was born two months after the marriage, NBC4 reported.

Children aged 16, 15, 14, 13, 11, 10, 8, 6, and 5, along with 4-year-old twins, 2-year-old twins and 1-year-old twins, were also found in the squalid home.

Seven of the children were hospitalized in the Columbus area, including two who were taken to trauma centers.

One was in critical condition on Tuesday, Wilson said.

All four suspects face up to 16 counts of child endangerment and $300,000 bonds each — and could spend a maximum sentence of up to 192 years in prison if found guilty.

It’s unclear whether Siders and his wife are the parents of all 16 children. But her lawyer believes she is the biological mother of all of them.

Siders is due in court July 23 for his public indecency charges.

Horror as 12-year-old girl is allegedly raped in student’s dorm room at top California college

A student at Menlo College has been charged with the alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl inside his campus dorm room.

San Mateo County prosecutors accused Andres Manuel Aguilar, 19, of luring the underage girl to his dormitory room after the two met at a Menlo Park transit stop.

Aguilar allegedly gave the victim his phone number during their initial encounter and subsequently persuaded her to meet him on May 5, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney who confirmed to The Post. Investigators noted that while the victim allegedly told the suspect she was 17, Aguilar admitted to law enforcement that he knew that she was still underage.

The incident came to light after the Atherton Police Department was called to Stanford, where the victim and her mother were receiving medical treatment, records show.

Prosecutors said that the victim snuck out of her house after dark to meet Aguilar.

The pair reportedly went to the Sequoia Safeway in Redwood City to buy rum and beer before heading to the campus in Atherton. Dorm surveillance footage captured the pair entering Aguilar’s residence hall room and showed the victim leaving at a later time, according to the DA’s office.

Inside the room, the suspect allegedly provided the girl with alcohol and vaped cannabis, prosecutors said.

The victim’s mother, speaking anonymously to protect her child’s identity, detailed the agonizing night.

“She waited until everybody was asleep and snuck out of the house,” the mother told KRON4. “They ended up going to the college, where she was raped.”

The suspect is accused of stripping off the victim’s pants while she repeatedly protested, authorities said. Out of a sudden fear of a potential pregnancy, Aguilar allegedly used DoorDash to order emergency Plan B contraception to the room, according to court documents.

Aguilar of San Jose is currently being held without bail on multiple felonies, including aggravated sexual assault of a child, aggravated sexual assault of a minor involving oral copulation, and providing marijuana to a minor under 14.

San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe emphasized that the victim’s age changes the legal severity of the prosecution.

“If a child is 13 and under, society treats that much more seriously,” Wagstaffe said in a statement. “The penalties are much higher. There is never any argument that a child could have consented in any fashion to it, and it really becomes serious when you deal with a 12-year-old child.”

Aguilar faces a maximum penalty of life in prison if convicted.

Though initially set for a midsummer court appearance, Aguilar’s preliminary hearing was pushed back to August 27 in Redwood City Felony Court. In Dept. 50, retired Judge Barbara J. Mallach granted a joint prosecution and defense motion to continue the hearing to allow police and prosecutors additional time to pursue leads regarding a potential second victim.

The case, prosecuted by Sexual Assault DDA Kara K. Szkotak, marks the second rescheduling of the preliminary hearing since Aguilar’s initial felony arraignment on May 15, 2026. Aguilar, who has retained attorney Eli Mohaghegh-Yazdi, remains in custody on a no-bail status.

The incident has stunned the community at Menlo College, a business institution known for its undergrad student body.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Atherton Police Department.

“If you know this man, if you’ve had any negative interactions of him, or if you are a victim of rape by him,” the mother said, “come forward.”

The incident has stunned the community at Menlo College, an exclusive, private business institution known for its tight-knit undergraduate student body of roughly 810 to 880 students.

The campus is highly regarded globally, with the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) placing it in the top 8.3% of universities worldwide and ranking it No. 62 globally for graduate employability. It also boasts an AACSB business accreditation held by fewer than 5% of schools worldwide.

The case follows a rape investigation at UC Santa Barbara that triggered pushback from student advocacy groups.

University administrators have declined to release specific details about the suspect’s enrollment status, citing privacy protocols.

“We take all allegations of criminal conduct and misconduct involving our community with the utmost seriousness,” a Menlo College spokesperson said in a statement provided to KRON4. “In accordance with federal and state privacy laws, we are unable to confirm identities or provide details regarding ongoing investigations.”

The case follows a recent investigation at UC Santa Barbara of an alleged rape that triggered massive pushback from student advocacy groups.

Similarly, UCLA recently dealt with security alarms after a man with no university affiliation was arrested for a series of separate physical assaults against multiple women, including students, across university grounds.
