Ponchatoula man arrested, accused of possessing child sexual abuse materials
PONCHATOULA, La. —
The Louisiana Bureau of Investigations has arrested a Ponchatoula man for allegedly having child sexual abuse material.
Danny Galindo, 51, of Lanier Lane in Ponchatoula, was arrested on Thursday, July 30, on 33 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material under the age of 13.
According to LBI, Galindo was arrested a month earlier on June 30 after NCMEC CyberTip reported that a Cash App sender was purchasing child sexual abuse material using cryptocurrency.
During the investigation, agents learned Galindo is a registered sex offender, and he was unlawfully accessing social media networks, resulting in him being arrested for one count each of unlawful use of a social networking website and failure to register.
He was later released from the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on a $50,000 bond before he was arrested again on July 30.
Galindo was rebooked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail, and no bond information is available at this time.
This is an ongoing investigation.
Man deported 3 times pleads guilty after returning to Maryland and committing child sex abuse
BELTSVILLE, Md. — A convicted sex offender is now pleading guilty to illegally reentering the United States for at least the fourth time.
At the time he was being arrested for sexually abusing a minor, a crime he pleaded guilty to one year later and was sentenced to 25 years in prison for.
Shortly afterwards, federal prosecutors hit Perez Batres with one count of Illegal Reentry after Previous Deportation.
"He has been previously removed to Guatemala on three separate occasions – in January 1996, September 2009, and May 2010," DOJ said in a press release.
Perez Batres will be sentenced for that offense on October 20, after which he's likely to be deported yet again.
Davenport man pleads guilty in sex abuse and possession of child sex abuse materials cases
A Davenport man who was arrested in 2024 for allegedly sexually abusing two children and possessing child sex abuse materials has entered into a plea agreement with Scott County prosecutors that will cap his prison sentence at 40 years.
Ryan Scott Zamora, 32, had initially been charged in Scott County District Court with two counts of Class B felony second-degree sexual abuse. He was arrested on those charges in November 2024.

Prosecutors later added two counts of Class C felony lascivious acts with a child, and one count each of aggravated misdemeanor indecent contact with a child and serious misdemeanor indecent exposure after new evidence came to light.
Zamora had been accused of sexually abusing two children on Feb. 25, 2024. Both children were under 12, according to the arrest affidavits filed by Davenport police detective Maureen Hammes.
In December 2024, prosecutors filed 20 counts of Class D felony possession of a depiction of a minor in a sex act against Zamora.
Those charges were filed after Davenport police received a tip from the Department of Homeland Security, which had received information that a local person was sending inappropriate messages about children.
According to the arrest affidavits filed by Davenport police detective Sean Johnson, authorities located 15 videos and 44 images of child sex abuse materials on Zamora's cellphone.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — A Louisville man accused of murdering his girlfriend and her
teenage daughter in June is now facing a slew of additional felony charges, including
the rape and sexual abuse of a child under 12 years old.
Malone is scheduled to be arraigned on the new charges on Monday, August 3, at 10:30 a.m.
The original homicide charges
On June 2, Louisville police found 29-year-old Vienna Peoples and her 13-year-old daughter, Labria Miller, dead inside a home in the Portland neighborhood.
Malone was arrested and initially charged with their deaths. He was People’s boyfriend.
The grand jury indictment has charged him with two counts of murder - domestic violence and one count of tampering with physical evidence.
New sexual abuse charges
After a grand jury hearing, Malone was indicted on the original charges, as well as multiple sex crime charges involving juvenile victims.
The new indictment includes:
- One count of First-Degree Rape (victim under 12 years of age)
- One count of First-Degree Sexual Abuse (victim under 12 years of age)
- One count of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Minor (under 16 years of age)
- 20 counts of Possession of Matter Portraying a Sexual Performance by a Minor (under 12 years of age)
Malone remains in the custody of the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections. The story will be updated as new information is released.
