Arrest made in disturbing sexual abuse of
children, women
Rebecca Burylo , Montgomery Advertiser
A 24-year-old Montgomery man was arrested after he was accused of sexually assaulting children and women, including choking one woman to make her unconscious to heighten his sexual pleasure, according to court documents.
The Montgomery Police Department charged Logan Craft on Monday with two counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old, one count of first-degree domestic violence by strangulation and one charge of first-degree sodomy, said Cpl. David Hicks, a spokesman for MPD.
Craft is accused of sexually assaulting one child between April 10 and April 14. Another child was sexually assaulted between April 3 and April 7 in the area of Mobile Highway.
In addition, two separate cases were reported where women were sexually assaulted in January. Both cases occurred during consensual sex, however when the women pleaded to stop, Craft allegedly used physical force to continue the abuse.
He is accused of strangling one victim until she was unconscious and continued to sexually abuse her because he admitted it "heightened his sexual pleasure" according to court documents.
Craft is currently being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under a total $150,000 bond.

Lesage man faces 32 charges of child sexual abuse
By BISHOP NASH
HUNTINGTON - A 22-year-old Lesage man faces 32 criminal charges accusing him of sexually assaulting two boys under 12 years old over an 11-month period at a residence in Ona.
Matthew Allen Wilks is charged with 16 counts of first-degree sexual assault and 16 counts of sexual abuse by a parent or guardian, according to criminal complaints from Cabell County Magistrate Court.
Wilks also could face more charges, Cabell County Sheriff Chuck Zerkle said, as deputies anticipate more victims may come forward in the ongoing investigation.
The assaults are reported to have happened from February 2015 through January 2016. Deputies were notified March 14, 2017, by the victims' mother, who accused Wilks of sexually assaulting her sons while he was living with them at the time, according to a Cabell County sheriff's report.
The victims told their mother Wilks called the abuse a "game" and would offer candy for them to perform sex acts on him, and vice versa, reports state. Complainants state the abuse happened on at least eight occasions or more.
Wilks was scheduled to undergo a polygraph test Tuesday as part of the investigation, Zerkle said, but failed to show. He was arrested that afternoon at his home in Lesage by officers with the U.S. Marshals C.U.F.F.E.D. Task Force.
Wilks gave no comment as he was taken into Cabell County Magistrate Court for arraignment. Magistrate Judge Danne Vance issued Wilks a $1.5 million bond, and he was transported to Western Regional Jail.
Zerkle said the potential additional victims were also known to Wilks, and it's possible more have yet to come forward. The investigation remains open, he added, and he encouraged those with more information to contact the Cabell County Sheriff's Office.

A 42-year-old man is facing more charges in an ongoing child sex abuse investigation after another alleged victim came forward.
Najeeb Saad was arrested last month, accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy and sending him nude photos over social media.
Since that arrest, another boy told police he was also sexually assaulted. He was 17 at the time of the alleged assault.
Police say the teen met the suspect online in November 2015 and was coerced into meeting the man at his home, where they then took part in sexual acts.
The boy travelled with the man shortly after he turned 18 in March of last year. Police say the suspect called him into his hotel room and sexually assaulted him.
Investigators re-arrested Saad on April 12 and charged him with sexual assault, luring a person under 18, and obtaining sexual services. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 25.
Police are concerned there may be other victims.
Police said Saad uses the online profiles of “AJ S,” “AjSaad123,” “asaad942” on Grindr, Snapchat and Kik. He is known to drive a black Range Rover.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact 416-808-8500.

Nevis man to stand trial for child sexual abuse,
animal cruelty charges
By Troy Gillard, RDNewsNow
Trial has been ordered for a central Alberta man charged in a disturbing case of child sexual abuse and animal cruelty.
Chris Marshall, 25, was arrested in October 2016 and charged with animal cruelty, making bestiality, child exploitation and child pornography-related counts, as well as firearms offences.
ALERT's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) team began investigating Marshall after they say child exploitation material was uploaded via a social media account.
His home in Nevis, east of Red Deer, was searched and officers seized electronic devices and three firearms. Investigators say they found a significant amount of child exploitation material and offences involving Marshall's pet dog, which was taken to a vet clinic.
Discussions between Marshall's lawyer and the Crown Prosecutor had been taking place toward a possible resolution to case. However, a trial was ordered following an appearance for Marshall in Red Deer court last week.
Dates for the trial have not been set.
