A FORMER beauty queen was quizzed by police over an alleged rape by a British pop legend, it has emerged.
He is said to have had a fling with the woman at the time he is accused of attacking a 14-year-old.
The accuser told cops she saw the ex-model in his hotel suite with other celebrities before
the alleged attack in the 1970s
The ex-model, now in her 60s, said: “I was interviewed by the investigator dealing with this case about six to eight months ago. I’m sorry I can’t shed more light on it.”
The accuser told cops she saw the woman in his hotel suite with other celebrities before the alleged attack in the 1970s.
We revealed last month the star, who we are not naming, is accused of raping her on his bed. Earlier he posed for a snap with her on his balcony.
The Sun on Sunday revealed on April 16 how the pop star was being probed over a rape claim
His former minder, who was staying at the hotel, said he was stunned when he saw the snap, which recently surfaced online.
His job often involved warding off groupies and he said: “When I first read about the claims I couldn’t understand how this girl could have got in his room and been raped.”
The alleged victim, who said she was a “naive virgin” at the time, said she was left bruised and mentally scarred.
Prosecutors decided not to charge the star in 2015 but the case has been reopened in the foreign country where the alleged attack took place.
That country would be South Africa! The pop star was involved with Anneline Kriel, a South African actress and model, at the time of the alleged rape.
A legal source said: “If charges are laid, extradition applications will follow.”
I am not going to name the most likely candidate, but another account mentions that women would throw their bras or panties at him on stage.
