Dad of Missing N.H. Girl - "Pure Evil"

Missing seven-year-old Harmony Montgomery's dad has been blasted as a 'sweet-talking' liar by his mother-in-law - who told DailyMail.com: 'He's pure evil – I pray she's still alive.'
Cops in Manchester, New Hampshire have spent the past few weeks searching desperately for the blond-haired youngster after learning from family members that she has not been seen since 2019.
Harmony was supposed to be in the custody of deadbeat dad Adam Montgomery, 31, who was found homeless and living in a car this week.
Montgomery was arrested on a felony assault charge after his relatives told cops he once gave the little girl a black eye - but so far he has not charged over her baffling disappearance.

In a further twist Wednesday night his estranged wife Kayla Montgomery, who has three kids with him but is not Harmony's mom, was arrested for claiming $1,500 worth of food stamps in Harmony's name from December 2019 to June 2021.
Speaking after her daughter's arraignment Thursday morning, Christina Rubin, 51, admitted Kayla had a history of dishonesty but insisted she had nothing to do with Harmony's disappearance.

'Adam, for the first couple years was some sweet guy – but he's not, he is pure evil. He is pure evil,' she repeated from the doorstep of her Manchester home.
'He can sweet-talk and swindle like he did with us for two years. He points the finger at everybody else and talks up quite the storm.'
Court records seen by DailyMail.com reveal that Rubin sought a restraining order against Montgomery last year.
She confirmed she has spoken several times this week with police and provided potential new information - but declined to go into specifics.

Rubin said that after her son-in-law's arrest she immediately grilled her daughter, 31, about what was going on with Harmony. She said Kayla's story was consistent with the account she gave to cops as outlined in her arrest affidavit.
In court filings Kayla is quoted as having told detectives last week that she had last seen Harmony, who is blind in one eye, in November 2019, before her husband dropped her (Kayla) off at a Dunkin' Donuts, where she worked.
'Adam said that he was driving [Harmony] back to Crystal who was living in Lowell, MA, at the time,' the affidavit states, referring to the girl's birth mother, Crystal Sorey.
'Kayla claimed she never saw, or heard about [Harmony] after that day.'
Sorey, 31, lost custody of Harmony in 2018 and has denied even taking her back.
She told police she has not seen her daughter since a 2019 FaceTime call and has been trying to track her down ever since.

When police pressed Kayla about receiving food stamps for Harmony for over a year after the child's last sighting, she 'acknowledged receiving those benefits knowingly,' the affidavit goes on.
Rubin said her daughter told her an identical story about how she last saw Harmony sometime between Thanksgiving and December 6, 2019.
'Adam dropped her off at work and he said to her, I am bringing Harmony to her mother. And then he came back later. I don't know how many hours.
'I've given all that information to the police. I do believe her, she is staying very consistent. I'm her mom. I can tell.
'I drilled my daughter, believe me. She used to be a liar but I know how to get the truth out of my daughter. And all she said was that he dropped her off at work.'
She said of missing Harmony: 'I hope and pray she is still alive but it's been two years so I don't know.'
Unfortunately, we don't know what the dad is saying. This is another example of mixing drugs and kids. How is Chrystal ever supposed to get her life in order after this? It was probably right to remove the child from her mom because of the drugs, but the dad's history is hardly any better. Someone failed that little girl besides her parents. I don't dare speculate on what might have happened to her.
Georgia man sentenced 20 years for rape, child molestation

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. (CBS46) -- A Pickens County man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to rape and child molestation charges in Cherokee County Friday.
District Attorney Shannon Wallace announced that on Dec. 9, 2021, Jasper resident, Roy William Ray, 38, entered a guilty plea to rape, four counts of child molestation, criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation, and computer pornography.
Ray is believed to have sexually abused two children in separate incidents in 2020 and 2012.
In Oct. 2020, Cherokee Sheriff’s Office arrested Ray for rape and other charges after a child told her grandmother about the incident.
During the course of the investigation, another relative told authorities that Ray raped and molested her in 2012.
Both victims were under the age of 16 at the time of the crimes.
The victims participated in separate forensic interviews at the Anna Crawford Children’s Center, where they provided their testimony of what Ray had done to them.
“Sexual predators take advantage of vulnerable children, then threaten them into silence. This defendant told the first victim that she would lose her family and home if she ever told anyone about the abuse. She was afraid to tell authorities what this defendant had done to her and, but for the courage of another child coming forward, he would never have been held accountable for his actions,” said Assistant District Attorney Leyna Pope, who prosecuted this case on behalf of the State.
A Cherokee County judge sentenced him to 20 years in prison, without the possibility of parole, followed by life on probation.
Upon his release from prison, Ray is prohibited from contacting the victims or the victims’ family members and must adhere to sex offender special conditions.
This defendant stole the innocence of two innocent children, likely causing long-term psychological harm. We are so proud of these young victims for standing up for themselves and helping ensure that this predator is now in a place where he cannot hurt young children.

January 7, 2022 - Merced – On April 9, 2021, Merced PD Officers took two separate reports regarding the continuous sexual abuse of children. Timothy Andrew Reedy AKA Timothy Cortez MPD Sex offender(34) of Merced was immediately identified as the suspect. Reedy is also a convicted sex offender who is in violation for failure to register.
Reedy currently has a $1,000,000 warrant for oral copulation of a child 10 years or younger, lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and sodomy of a minor.

Man who fled to Mexico after sexually abusing child
in Sacramento Co. sentenced to 126 years in prison

SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
A man who tried to escape to Mexico after sexually abusing a 5-year-old child was sentenced to 126 years to life in prison, the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office said Friday.
The family of the child reported Navarrete Jr. in August 2018 to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, and a warrant for his arrest was issued on June 2019.
After he fled to Mexico, a federal arrest warrant was issued August 2019 with "unlawful flight to avoid prosecution." FBI officials then placed him on their Most Wanted list and offered a reward of up to $5,000 was offered by the FBI for information leading to his arrest.
Officials said Navarrete Jr. was later captured on January 2020 and deported to the U.S. to face prosecution in Sacramento.

An Arkansas man was convicted and sentenced to 50 years in prison for acts of sexual abuse against minors.
A federal jury found Carl Monroe Gordon, the victims' ex-stepfather, guilty of multiple counts of sexually abusing two children at their residences on Fort Bliss army base in El Paso, Texas.
Gordon, 50, was convicted of abusing the victims during Christmas of 2018 and in July of 2019. According to a criminal complaint obtained by PEOPLE, Gordon abused one of the minors over many years, beginning when the child was only 10 or 11 years old.
"Perhaps the most concerning cases that my office investigates involve the violation of children by those responsible for their care," said U.S. Attorney Ashley C. Hoff in a statement. "The details of this case are alarming. Equally unfathomable is the heroic effort of these children who stepped forward to ensure that this individual would not be able to victimize others."
"Today's sentence reflects the dedication of prosecutors and law enforcement within the Western District of Texas to vigorously pursue justice in these cases," she added.
Gordon was convicted of one count of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, two counts of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, and one count of abusive sexual contact with a child according to the press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Texas.
An investigation conducted by the FBI found Gordon "engaged in a pattern of sexually abusing children for nearly three decades" and committed similar conduct in Arkansas, California, Tennessee and Texas, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
In a statement, FBI Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey R. Downey said, "The partners of the FBI El Paso Crimes Against Children/Human Trafficking Task Force worked tirelessly to ensure this defendant will never intimidate, coerce or victimize a child again."
"Today's sentence of 50 years will hopefully bring some closure and allow the victims and their families to move forward from this heinous crime," he added.
In addition to the prison sentence, United States District Judge David C. Guaderrama ordered Gordan to pay $20,000 to the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Fund and be placed on supervised release after completing his sentence.
