A Muskogee, Oklahoma man was arrested Sunday when he showed up at police headquarters, told police he had found Jesus and turned himself in for sexually assaulting a child.
Robert Adam Smith, 40, was booked into the Muskogee County/City Detention Facility on complaints of abuse/neglect/exploitation or sexual abuse of a child; forcible sodomy; first-degree rape; lewd or indecent proposals or acts to child under 16, said Cpl. Michael Mahan.
“He came to the police department and approached a couple of our officers on the east side of the building in the parking lot and said he wanted to turn himself in,” Mahan said. “He admitted to sexually assaulting a child for the past several years.”
Smith has been cooperating with police.
“He said he found Jesus and said he wanted to confess his sins,” Mahan said.
The Oklahoma Department of Human Services also has been notified.
This could be an answer to prayer; most likely is an answer to someone's prayer. It is testimony to the radical change that comes over a person when Jesus enters their life. It's real! Do you know of anything else that would cause a man to spontaneously confess to being a pedophile?
