The family of Maya Gebala, the 12-year-old girl critically injured in a mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge, has accepted an offer to send her for specialized treatment at a Los Angeles hospital.
Global News has confirmed that UFC president Dana White will be covering the costs of this treatment.
Maya is still recovering at BC Children’s Hospital after she was shot in the head.
In a Facebook post on Thursday morning, Maya’s mother, Cia Edmonds, wrote that after many nights of questioning and fear of the unknown, they are accepting an opportunity for an aggressive approach to Maya’s rehabilitation through privatized health care in the U.S.
“We are excited as well as nervous, away from family and resources,” Edmonds wrote.
“An opportunity we could not refuse.”

On March 25, Edmonds had said that White had contacted the family with the offer of help.
Edmonds said that White offered to pay for Maya to receive the care at an L.A. hospital, which has an extensive brain trauma clinic. She said White also offered to pay for the family’s accommodations.
There is no timeline yet for the move, as Edmonds said they have to get everything in place and Maya must be stable for travel.
It sounds like some insane Orwellian satire and warning all rolled into one, but it’s actually just another day in shattered, staggering, dhimmi Britain. At one primary school in England, the administrator and teachers saw the writing on the wall and the direction in which Britain is heading, and took action accordingly: they instituted a program to teach their children how to pray as Muslims.
Adding to the dark cloud of cultural suicide that hangs over this entire affair is the fact that the place where this happened, which is unnamed in the news reports about the incident, is identified as a Church of England school. Now, the Church of England is a far-left institution that has long ago left behind most of the core elements of traditional Christianity, but to teach children how to pray after the manner of a rival faith that teaches that Christianity is false and will lead you to hell is taking leftism and apostasy to a whole new level.
The controversy began, according to a Wednesday report in the Telegraph, when a father of one of the children present lodged a complaint. “The father claimed his seven-year-old daughter’s class was shown a video of people kneeling on prayer mats in the direction of Mecca and reciting a prayer to Allah during a religious education lesson last Wednesday, before being told to ‘have a go’ themselves.”
The children duly complied, and this man’s daughter told him about it the following day: “We did prayers to Allah yesterday.” However, the Church of England Diocese of Lincoln, “speaking on behalf of the school, disputed the claims.” A Diocesan Board of Education wonk claimed that it was all perfectly innocent: “During the lesson, which began following the relevant lesson plan, pupils were invited to demonstrate some of the movements associated with Muslim prayer.” Nothing wrong with that, now, is there, you racist, bigoted “Islamophobe”?
The wonk continued: “Although this was outside the lesson’s intended approach, it was not an act of worship – no prayers or religious words were spoken and no child was required to take part. No mats were used and pupils were not asked to face any particular direction.”
Sure. He could also have pointed out that the prayer was all wrong from an Islamic standpoint, as the girls were praying together with the boys, which would never have happened if the children had been in a mosque. In Islamic prayer, the women pray behind the men; if a woman (or a dog, or a donkey) passes in front of a man during prayer, his prayer is invalidated.
‘Pray every day for these children’: Prayer service held for Bibb County sex abuse victims, law enforcement and more
CENTREVILLE, Ala. (WBRC) - As the sun slowly set on Centreville First Presbyterian Church, people inside were praying and lifting up the victims of a heartbreaking sexual abuse case in their county.
“I could not believe it, I’ve got three children and five grandchildren and I thought this is horrible how could anybody do anything like that,” said Centreville resident Lynn Ellinghausen.
Ellinghausen was among the worshippers horrified by the case.
“It’s just absolutely awful,” Ellinghausen said. “We’ve got great law enforcement, we’ve got a great sheriff, we’ve got people that are handling this, and we just have to do the best that we can and remember to pray every day for these children, pray for the families, and pray for the horrible people that did this.”
“That abuse took the place of bed time stories,” Oakley said. “That abuse took the place of tucking kids in at night. That abuse took the place of hey let’s go to the ballpark and have a good day.”
He says this situation is a painful reminder to speak up.

“I know it’s popular to say snitches get stitches but come on this is children,” he said. “This is child abuse. If you see something, if you know something, say something.”
Worshipers also said their hearts also go out to the investigators and DHR workers involved in this case.
Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre has offered more details about the horror bus crash that she claims left her with just four days to live.
A statement from Giuffre’s spokesperson seemed to dispute the sex trafficking victim’s assertion on Instagram Sunday that she was near death; her spokesperson said that the mother-of-three was in serious condition at an Australian hospital.
The new details came after police in Western Australia — where the US-born Giuffre lives — said there were “no reported injuries” in a March 24 crash between Giuffre’s car and a school bus outside Perth.
“The school bus driver had a bus full of distraught children and left the scene to get them back, saying he would file a police report, which he did later,” they said.
“Concerning her Instagram post, Virginia thought that she had posted on her private Facebook page,” the statement went on.
“Today she remains in serious condition while receiving medical care.”
Giuffre — whose bombshell allegations that she had sex with Prince Andrew when she was underage saw him lose his royal and military titles — claimed she had just days to live after suffering from kidney failure in an Instagram post shared on Sunday.
(Prince Andrew has long denied the claims.)
Alongside a picture of her apparently lying in a hospital bed with gruesome bruising and cuts to her face, she claimed that the school bus had crushed her car like “a tin can,” when it crashed into her.
“This year has been the worst start to a new year, but I won’t bore anyone with the details but I think it important to note that when a school bus driver comes at you driving [60mph] as we were slowing for a turn that no matter what your car is made of it might as well be a tin can,” she wrote.
“I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology.
“I’m ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time,” she added. Giuffre has recently been going through a devastating divorce with her husband, her father, Sky Roberts, told Dailymail.com.
“She’s in really bad shape,” he said. “She’s very depressed… there’s everything else she’s been going through with the divorce and not being able to see her kids.”
And why was she not able to see her kids? Has she resorted to using drugs with the money she got from Andrew? If so, are the drugs causing mental illness?

Giuffre appeared to confirm she was away from her children in a cryptic Instagram post shared on March 22, two days before the crash.
“My beautiful babies have no clue how much I love them and they’re being poisoned with lies,” she wrote, alongside pictures of her and her three children.
“I miss them so very much. I have been through hell & back in my 41 years but this is incredibly hurting me worse than anything else,” she went on.
“Hurt me, abuse me but don’t take my babies. My heart is shattered and every day that passes my sadness only deepens.”
Giuffre — who is the most high-profile accuser of Epstein — made international headlines when she slapped a lawsuit against Prince Andrew, accusing the British royal of having sex with her when she was just 17.
Prince Andrew has claimed he has no recollection of meeting Giuffre, despite being pictured with her and Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell in 2001.
Whatever is going on in Virginia's life, she is in rather desperate need of prayer, as are her children and ex-husband. These are not unusual consequences for child sex abuse victims.
