The bodies were discovered on Christmas Day, the latest in a series of shocking cases around Paris in recent months where men have allegedly murdered their families.

Authorities found the bodies of the 35-year-old woman and her children -- aged nine months, four, seven and 10 years old -- at home in the town of Meaux east of Paris on Monday evening, after worried friends and family sounded the alarm, local prosecutor Jean-Baptiste Bladier said.

The French man, a plumber, has been receiving treatment since 2017 for depression and psychotic behaviour, the prosecutor said.

Does "The French Man" mean that he is not a Muslim? No, it means that he is a French citizen. France24, along with almost every other news source in the world provide no clues as to the origin or religion of this man, as if it didn't matter.

Is he Muslim?

He was already held in 2019 after stabbing his partner in the shoulder blade when she was pregnant with their third child and trying to kill himself. She had refused to press charges, the prosecutor said.

He was treated again after that attack, and said he did not mean to harm her. The case was dropped as he was deemed to be "mentally deficient".

Was he a Muslim? So many acts of violence by Muslims are forgiven by French courts. It's bizarre, and as is obvious from this case, just plain wrong. The courts have bloody hands here.

The couple, who had met in high school, married in October.

'Very violent'

Police broke in through a bedroom window of their ground-floor flat to find a "very violent crime scene" covered in blood, the prosecutor said.

A police source said the mother was lying in the corridor, while the children were found dead in their rooms, in the kitchen and bathroom.

"The mother and the two girls had received a very high number of knife wounds," the prosecutor said. 

The two younger boys had no stab wounds and may have been suffocated.

Was he a Muslim? As I have mentioned many times, Muslims seem to have a certain hatred for women and girls. Could that be why he murdered his wife and daughters so brutally but was more gentle with his sons?

Neighbours told police they had heard cries downstairs during the night of December 24 to 25.

The suspect, who was arrested near his father's home in the neighbouring town of Sevran on Tuesday morning, had not yet been questioned but told police he "knew why he had been detained", and "spoke of his unhappiness and depression", Bladier said.

All devout Muslims suffer from mental illness, and yet, French courts use this as an excuse to avoid punishing them when it should be an excuse for segregating them from sane society.

He had wounds to his hand.

An inquiry has been opened into the murder of minors under 15 years old, and murder by a partner. Autopsies were to be carried out in Paris on Wednesday.

"His wife was kind, she spoke to everybody," said one local called Antonio, 69, who did not give his surname.

Femicides

The Paris region has recently seen a series of infanticides.

In late November, a 41-year-old man confessed to killing his three daughters, aged four to 11. Police found them dead in his home in the town of Alfortville, in the southeastern suburbs of the capital.

Like the latest story, France24, along with almost every other news source in the world provide no clues as to the origin or religion of this man. One news source named him, however, as 'Younes E'. Younes seems to be an Algerian name, and therefore a Muslim.

A month earlier a gendarme killed his three daughters before killing himself at his home in Vemars, northeast of the capital.

I am unable to find any identification of the nationality or religion of the late gendarme. Media and governments work very hard to keep such things a secret. Were there ever so many family massacres in France in the 20th century?

On average, a woman is killed every three days in France. Some 118 women were killed by their partner or ex-partner in France last year.

What are the numbers for children massacred? What were the numbers in the 20th century? What are news reporters doing these days anyway?

Police registered 244,300 victims of domestic violence, mostly women, in 2022 -- a 15-per cent increase -- in what rights groups believe is a sign that law enforcement is taking the problem more seriously.

That means that rights groups don't think the problem is getting worse, but that it is getting reported and actioned by police more. That seems like a euphoric attitude to me.

Four men charged with gang-raping woman, 22,

after ‘luring her to fake date on app in Sydney’

FOUR men have been charged with gang-raping a woman who is said to have allegedly been lured on a fake date via an app.

The 22-year-old woman had arranged to meet a man she had been chatting to online in June.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in relation to an alleged gang-rape of a young woman.

While she was in the bathroom of a home in Sydney, Australia, a group of men allegedly turned up and sexually assaulted her, the Supreme Court heard in August.

Cops arrested a 24-year-old man, Rami Katlan, on Tuesday and charged him with two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company, which carries a maximum term of life imprisonment.

He was set to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday.

A 23-year-old man, Omar El-Sayed, has also been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company. He has been released on bail and is set to appear at Newtown Local Court on September 22.

Adam Kabbout, 24, alleged to be the organiser of the attack, failed in his bid for bail in the Supreme Court in August.

Kabbout is fighting six counts of aggravated sexual intercourse without consent while in company.

The court heard that police don’t allege Kabbout had sex with the woman but he allegedly tried to film the other men raping her.

A 19-year-old male, Mohammed Ali, was charged in June over his alleged involvement and is set to appear in court.

Sex crimes chief detective Jayne Doherty said at the time the woman had built a relationship with the man online.

When she invited him over, he arrived - before the four others joined him, it's said. "They [allegedly] arrived a short time after he arrived at the premises," Doherty said.

The victim took "a number of steps to try and ensure her safety", the cop added. "It’s through those steps that we’ve been able to identify these people," she said.

The names of Kabbout's accomplices came from the Daily Mail.

A young woman was arrested by Iranian authorities after being pictured eating breakfast in a restaurant without a headscarf.

The image, which shows Donya Rad eating breakfast with her friend in a restaurant in Tehran without headscarves, went viral on social media and attracted widespread attention.

The pair had been protesting the recent death of Mahsa Amini, who was killed in the custody of the Iranian morality police after being arrested for improper wearing of a hijab. 

Ms Amini died at the age of 22, three days after she was arrested by the 'morality police' responsible for enforcing's strict Islamic strict dress code.

Police said she died of a heart attack and did not suffer any mistreatment, despite experts' claims she was severely beaten.

Her death has already sparked widespread protests throughout Iran, with public figures expressing their outrage, including the Iranian national football team, who kept their black tracksuits on during anthems at the international friendly against Senegal.

After Donya's image went viral, it was seen by the morality police, who summoned her to explain her actions. When Donya arrived to explain, she was arrested by police.

Her (Donya's) family have not heard from her since, other than a brief call that informed them she was being moved to Ward 209 of Evin Prison, infamously known as the prison that held Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.

Donya Rad's sister, Dina, revealed that they were confronted by police before her sister's arrest.

She said: 'Yesterday, after the above photo was published, the security agencies contacted my sister - Donya Rad - and summoned her to give an explanation.

'Today, after agreeing to be interrogated, she was arrested. After a few hours of no news from her, she told me in a short call that she was arrested and had been transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison. Our family is very worried about her health and safety.

'Our family is very concerned about her wellbeing'.

The decision to arrest Donya Rad signals the unease Iranian authorities are facing over unrest in the country, with protests following the death of Ms Amini spiralling into protests against the Iranian regime. 

In the two weeks since the death of Ms Amini and the protests that followed - at least 83 people, including children, have been killed. 

The Committee to Protect Journalists said at least 29 journalists have been arrested, including Nilufar Hamedi and Elahe Mohammadi, the female journalists that helped to bring Ms Amini's case to light.

London-based Amnesty International addressed the violence protesters are facing, highlighting Iran's 'widespread patterns of unlawful use of force and ruthless violence by security forces'.

A former Greater Manchester police detective who resigned over the force’s handling of the Rochdale child sexual abuse scandal has claimed that offenders identified in the original investigation are still free to abuse young girls in the town.

Speaking before the airing of a new BBC1 drama, Three Girls – which tells the story of three victims in the 2012 Rochdale sex grooming case – Margaret Oliver said police had still not learned lessons and called for the law to be changed so that senior officers could be prosecuted for negligence.

Oliver, who is played by Lesley Sharp in the three-part series, said she was still in touch with many of the victims. “I’m speaking to kids who are telling me that even to this day they are seeing offenders that they’ve named, walking around Rochdale,” she said. “Somebody saw one in London, another person told me that one has moved around the corner from her.

“That’s why I’m saying things haven’t changed, because those men have been named by those girls [to the police ...] and I know that they’re still out there walking around.”

In 2012, nine Asian men from Rochdale and Oldham were found guilty of offences including rape and conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child. The court heard that between 2005 and 2008 the group gave the five victims, who were as young as 13, drink and drugs and “passed them around” for sex.

Oliver resigned from the police after 15 years in October 2012. She worked on Operation Span, which investigated reports of grooming in Rochdale, for about seven months, before deciding to leave. Her main concern was that allegations of rape and sexual abuse were not being recorded by police.

“I tried with every ounce of my determination to highlight to the chief constable and all the agencies – the IPCC, the children’s commissioner, the Home Office select committee – what was going on, but without success. No one really wanted to hear what I was saying and eventually I was left with a stark choice,” she said.

“There were so many big holes in what was going on ... I had never seen a job being run this way before. There were lots of things that were just not right. They wanted to do a quick job with a quick result.

“Children had spent months giving evidence in video interviews, disclosing men who had abused them and places where the abuse had happened, but those allegations were not being officially recorded and to this day have still not been recorded.”

Also starring Maxine Peake as sexual health worker Sara Rowbotham, who spent years trying to get authorities to take the grooming seriously, the first episode of Three Girls will air on Tuesday night.

Speaking last week, the drama’s writer, Nicole Taylor, said she felt confident that the work would not give far-right groups the opportunity to further their agenda, adding that extremists would “hitch their wagon opportunistically to anything”.

So, is she saying that the fact that all the perpetrators were Pakistani is irrelevant and to point it out is racist? Is it also irrelevant that it was Pakistanis in Rotherham who raped and trafficked 1400 girls? Or that 25 of 26 perpetrators in Huddersfield are Pakistani? Or the dozen Pakistani rapists of a 13 y/o in Keighley, West Yorkshire? 

Can you not see a pattern here, Ms Taylor? It seems obvious that you haven't really got to the bottom of this issue - the way Pakistani (read fundamentalist Muslim) men view non-Muslim girls, and girls in general, and where that attitude comes from. It's a pity if you wrote such an important series as Three Girls and you completely missed these points.

There is a longstanding legal principle that the police cannot be sued for negligence because they have a unique position in public service and the public interest lies in protecting them from such claims. “If the police were accountable then perhaps we would see proper changes,” says Oliver.

“But they’re not and I feel that they’re more interested in covering up for the organisation and the establishment than they are in carrying out the first duty of a police officer, which is to protect the vulnerable.”

A report by Greater Manchester police in 2015 looked at the conduct of 13 officers between 2008 and 2010, and served notices of misconduct on seven. One officer, an inspector, was found to have warranted disciplinary action, but retired before he could be sanctioned. The force then issued a statement apologising to the victims and acknowledging that “mistakes were made and victims let down”.

Assistant Chief Constable Rob Potts said tackling the sexual exploitation of children and young people was an absolute priority for Greater Manchester police and its partners. “Protecting children is everyone’s responsibility and it is crucial that we work together to identify and prosecute individuals who prey on vulnerable children,” he said.

“Our specialist CSE [child sexual exploitation] teams in each division across Greater Manchester are successfully reaching out to young people. We have specially trained officers who provide young people with ongoing support, both from within the force and through key partner agencies ... We have made huge progress in our fight against CSE and those who commit these horrendous crimes against children.” 

He added: “This increase in public awareness, as well as enhanced police officer understanding and more accurate recording of CSE reports, resulted in a significant rise in the number of CSE incidents reported to police. I want to reassure communities that our priority is to protect children and young people, prosecute offenders and prevent [them] from committing further offences.”

TWO men accused of taking a schoolgirl to a flat and forcing her to perform sex acts on five men have denied she was held against her will and abused.

The complainant told police in 2003, when she was 13, she had been picked up by Masoued Malik (32) and an Iraqi man and taken to a flat where she was forced to perform sex acts on five men, including Malik.

The girl, now 27, also told police Naeem Rafiq (33) was at the flat and she was held against her will, “like somebody was holding the bedroom door shut from the outside”.

Malik told police in 2003 he had had sex with the girl but believed she was 16.

Both men admitted being at the flat, but denied she was held against her will and abused at an ongoing trial at Sheffield Crown Court.

Six other men on trial also deny sexually exploiting her during the same time period.

Malik denies rape, false imprisonment and conspiracy to commit indecent assault and Rafiq denies conspiracy to commit indecent assault and false imprisonment.

Giving evidence, Malik said in 2003 when he was 18 to 19 years-old he used to hang around Rotherham town centre and Boots alleyway quite often.

He said at the time he was working at the KP Nuts factory and would occasionally associate with Rafiq.

Malik said he had sex with the complainant twice in 2003 and she had told him she was at college.

Because 13 year olds look and talk like college girls! Or maybe it's just that all those little white girls look the same.

Giving evidence Malik and Rafiq both admitted to being in a flat with the complainant around August 2003, an Iraqi man and another man, but deny any sexual activity took place.

The jury heard a phone call was made on Rafiq’s mobile phone to the girl and Malik and the Iraqi man went to pick her up while Rafiq stayed at the flat.

Miss Michelle Colborne, prosecuting, said Malik went to pick her up as he knew the girl would get in the car if he was there because she thought at the time he was “kind” and Rafiq invited other men round “to have a turn on her”.

Miss Colborne said in his October 2003 police interview Malik said he went to pick her up because “Nemy wanted to see her” and “it was obvious sex was taking place in the flat but didn’t see it”.

Malik also told police 13 years ago that three men, including Rafiq, were in the bedroom with the girl for 30 minutes each.

Miss Colborne asked if he thought it was strange different men were going in and coming out or if he thought to check on her.

Malik said he didn’t and the girl would have said if she was uncomfortable, adding he “didn’t know what went on behind closed doors”.

Miss Colborne said: “You could hear her calling: ‘Masy’ while another man was in the room and you told her she had to ‘get on with it’ and you were all laughing at her.”

Miss Colborne said Rafiq was lying when he said no sexual activity took place at the flat and he had not engaged in any.

Rafiq said: “I’ve taken an oath, I’ve not come here to lie, I’ve come here to tell the truth.”

Miss Colborne replied: “You left the living room and went into the bedroom and it was your idea to pick the girl up.”

Rafiq responded: “No.”

All eight men on trial deny the charges. The trial continues.
