Katie Hopkins blasted for calling Adam Johnson's child sex abuse victim a "slag" who "wanted to impress her mates"

Just two weeks ago Hopkins attacked Kate and Gerry McCann saying that they should take some blame for Madeleine's disappearance.
The 41-year-old also insisted the heartbroken couple did not “deserve” the £11million of taxpayers’ cash shelled out to search for Madeleine.
It's as if she doesn't know that parents of missing children always blame themselves first. The last thing they need is someone throwing that back in their face. I guarantee if it was her child who was kidnapped she wouldn't complain about the police budget.
Katie Hopkins has faced a ferocious backlash after branding Adam Johnson’s 15-year-old victim a “slag”.
Motormouth Katie spewed the vitriolic abuse while comparing the former Sunderland and England footballer to the Cecil the Lion killer on Saturday.
Katie appeared to suggest that Johnson, who pleaded guilty to counts of grooming and sexual activity with a child, as well as being found guilty at trial of one more serious count of sexual activity with a child, was actually the victim of a witch hunt.
She goaded her 600,000 followers to “look up the definition of paedophile” in one tweet.
Technically, she may have a point. Paedophiles are really only interested in prepubescent children whose innocence they gleefully destroy. Someone who seeks sex with a teenager is simply called a child sex abuser, unless the adult is interested in teen boys, upon which he is called a 'pederast'. "Child sexual abuse offenders are not pedophiles unless they have a primary or exclusive sexual interest in prepubescent children," Wikipedia. There is a significant difference between the two, but both are sorry excuses for human beings.
Johnson has been warned by a judge that he will be facing jail when he returns to court in two weeks.
In the shocking post on Mother’s Day, Katie wrote: “A child? YOU ARE KIDDING ME? Looking to impress her mates by snagging a footballer. Hey presto. From slag to wag.”
She also appeared to place blame on the victim, as she wrote: "Adam Johnson is the new Cecil the Lion killer. Except, Cecil is a 15 year old girl who wanted to impress her mates by playing with guns."
Many were outraged at Katie’s latest tweet, despite being fully aware of her thirst for controversial stances and horrifying rants.
“Your continued abuse of this girl is appalling. How u can defend a convicted sex offender is amazing,” one horrified Twitter user wrote.
While another added: “What a shame. Blaming a child for the sexual abuse just to make a name for yourself. I actually pity you.”
Katie Hopkins' courts controversy - but has she overstepped the mark?
I was going to enlarge this portrait to full-size, but just couldn't bring myself to do it.
A Twitter user suggested that Katie’s views might be dramatically different if it had been a relative, as they wrote: “You really are one sick person I bet if it was your daughter you would see it differently.”
While another replied: “well, that was pretty stupid thing to say. The fact that she is 15 is the only proof needed.”
Followers of Katie’s account suggested that she was actually “trolling a victim of sexual abuse” with her words.
Is she just doing this for publicity, or is the reality TV star really that out of touch with reality that she doesn't know that it is not only illegal, but immoral, for an adult to have sex with a 15 year old regardless of the circumstances?
Johnson, 28, was convicted on Wednesday, and the Crown Prosecution Service issued a statement which said the footballer "chose to exploit that fame to actively pursue a 15 year old girl for his own sexual gratification, in full knowledge of her age".
The statement continued: “The law in this country regarding sexual activity between adults and those under the age of 16 is clear. It exists to protect children from more experienced adults wishing to take advantage of them.
“Adam Johnson knew that what he was doing was wrong and went to great lengths to hide it. He encouraged his young victim to delete any traces of their online contact and, when she reported what had happened to police, he initially claimed to be unaware of her true age and told police that he had only ever kissed her.
“While he eventually admitted to those charges for which there was overwhelming documentary evidence, he continued to deny the true extent of their sexual contact.
“The victim in this case has endured months of abuse and personal attacks online. Had Adam Johnson wished to do so, he could have spared her further alarm and distress. I would like to thank her for her bravery in coming forward and giving evidence.”
