India: Muslim transgender groups demand that Hindu transgenders convert to Islam, infect them with HIV on refusal
Over the years, we have reported extensively on various instances of Islamic violence targeting Hindus across India. These have ranged from attacks on Hindu men by Muslim men, to assaults on Hindu women by both Muslim men and women, and even violence against Hindu men by the families of Muslim women, all this driven by the jihadist ideology. However, in a highly unusual and nearly unprecedented development in Madhya Pradesh, a new pattern of targeting has come to light: Hindu transgender individuals are reportedly being victimized by Muslim transgender groups. This disturbing trend has been described by some as a form of “kinnar jihad.” Kinnar is the Hindi word for transgender.
A serious controversy has erupted in Indore’s Nandlalpura area, and leaders from the Hindu transgender community have accused a group of Muslim transgender individuals of attempting to coerce them to convert to Islam, and purposefully infecting those who refused with HIV through syringes.
A prominent Hindu transgender leader, Sakina Guru, also known as Seema Haji, as well as Farzana; and Payal, alias Naeem Ansari, purportedly originating from Malegaon, are the primary figures in the alleged coercion campaign. Speaking to the media, Sakina claimed that those who resisted religious conversion were administered HIV-contaminated injections, with “nearly 60 people falling ill,” and around twelve currently undergoing treatment at MY Hospital’s ART Centre.
