Pullman man charged with over a dozen additional felonies in child sex abuse case
Carlos Alarcon-Lorenzana, 21, pleads not guilty to 17 felony charges stemming from child rape allegations
A Pullman man was charged with 15 additional felonies in a case that alleges child sexual abuse.
Carlos Alarcon-Lorenzana was arraigned on 17 total felony counts Friday morning in Colfax’s Whitman County Superior Court. Alarcon-Lorenzana pleaded not guilty to several charges, including two counts of third-degree child rape, eight counts of communication with a minor for immoral purposes, six counts of first-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and sexual exploitation of a minor.
Pullman investigators launched a case against Alarcon-Lorenzana in August after an alleged inappropriate relationship between a 15-year-old girl and a man in his 20s was reported to police, according to court documents.
Detectives reportedly found evidence on the child’s phone to suggest Alarcon-Lorenzana knew the girl was a minor, discussed having sexual contact and sent nude images of himself to the minor, according to court documents.
Officers arrested Alarcon-Lorenzana on Monday and booked him into the Whitman County Jail initially on charges of third-degree child rape and communication with a minor for immoral purposes.
According to court documents, Alarcon-Lorenzana allegedly admitted to police that he had sex with the minor multiple times and sent the nude photos while being questioned.
Alarcon-Lorenzana was placed on pretrial release after posting bond. Judge Roger Sandberg signed new sexual assault protection orders for the minor on Friday.

A former Hornell man has been convicted of sexually abusing and assaulting two children under the age of 11.
The Steuben County District Attorney’s Office says 55-year-old Mihaly Bodnar abused the children between August 2024 and March 2025. Prosecutors say he tried to flee the country after the children came forward, but was arrested at Newark Liberty International Airport before a one-way flight to Hungary.
Bodnar remains jailed without bail. He faces up to 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced November 5th.
