Everyday thousands of children are being sexually abused. You can stop the abuse of at least one child by simply praying. You can possibly stop the abuse of thousands of children by forwarding the link in First Time Visitor? by email, Twitter or Facebook to every Christian you know. Save a child or lots of children!!!! Do Something, please!

3:15 PM prayer in brief:
Pray for God to stop 1 child from being molested today.
Pray for God to stop 1 child molestation happening now.
Pray for God to rescue 1 child from sexual slavery.
Pray for God to save 1 girl from genital circumcision.
Pray for God to stop 1 girl from becoming a child-bride.
If you have the faith pray for 100 children rather than one.

Courageous Woman Exposes Paedophile Ring at the Highest Levels of Australia's Victoria State

..
I have been very reluctant to get into the notion of 'the Illuminati', and global conspiracies of child predators, satanic abuse, and murder. I am inclined to believe that international rings of satanic rituals involving child sacrifice are unlikely. However, I have no doubt that there are paedophile rings operating at the highest levels of many governments around the world. Some of them are documented on this blog - see sidebar: The Great Belgium... 60 Minutes... Demi and Nirvana...

By Reina Michaelson, Dr., ‘Young Victorian of the Year’ for Community Service, and ‘Young Australian of the Year’ for Community Service

The following is a summary of events that detail the infiltration of a high-profile, powerful group of child sex offenders into my child abuse prevention organisation. What was uncovered as a result of this infiltration was the existence of an Illuminati-based child pornography and pedophile ring that is operating in Australia, under the protection of senior-ranking members of Victoria Police. The members of the network include senior management and executives from a major television network, media celebrities, high-ranking politicians, police officers in charge of pedophile and child pornography investigations, senior management representatives from the Department of Education, directors of “child-focused” service clubs, wealthy businessmen, and others. I have tried to keep the account as brief as possible while trying to include all relevant information. The description covers events from 1995 until present. The names of individuals have been changed.

Department of Education Protects Pedophile Teacher

In 1995 I started running Australia’s first child sexual abuse prevention program in schools, the Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Program (CSAPP). This school-based program teaches children how to protect themselves from sexual abuse and what to do if someone tries to sexually abuse them. The program also teaches adults how they can best protect children under their care from sexual abuse. My assistant and I were at a particular high school in the northern region working with Year 9 boys. We received a note written anonymously by one of the boys asking “What do you do if you get raped by a teacher and no-one will believe you? What happens if you get raped and you enjoy it?”. Later during that day we were asked exactly the same question by a boy who was flushed red with embarrassment. I replied “Talk to the Student Welfare Coordinator”, to which he replied “What if he is the one who won’t believe you?”. I emphasizied that it is important to keep telling until someone believes you.

During the day my assistant and I noticed the strange behaviour of a particular teacher, called “Dick Newman”. Later that afternoon I learnt that the car I had been driving had been rammed in the school’s car-park. Witnesses reported that the car had been rammed deliberately by a man who then drove off very quickly.

The local police were called and ran a licence check on the car and discovered that the number-plate was fake. They then took photos of the crime scene using the school’s camera. Later, when it was revealed that a teacher was under suspicion of sexually abusing the children at the school and then organising the ramming of my car to intimidate me, the photos went “missing”, and no further action was taken.

”Dick Newman” was the only person at the school who knew my car, as he had taken it upon himself to show me to my car to give me directions to the shops during a break in classes.

It was organised that the boys in Year 9 would be interviewed in order to find the victims and give them appropriate support. Three people (including myself, my assistant and a counsellor from a sexual assault centre) were responsible for conducting the interviews. At the completion of the interviews, there were concerns for approximately 12 of the boys. These concerns related specifically to sexual assault by a teacher at the school. However, by this stage (over a week had passed since the initial program) it was clear that the boys had been threatened. For example, when I interviewed the boy who had asked the questions about sexual abuse by a teacher and not being believed, he huddled into a foetal position, started crying, and said he could not tell me what happened. When I asked him why he couldn’t tell me, he replied that he had been threatened with his life. His best friend told me he would never tell what had happened.

Some time after this, we organised a theatre company performance for the students (on the topic of sexual abuse). While the children were seated and waiting for the play to begin, “Dick Newman” made an unscheduled visit to the hall. He proceeded to stand in front of each of the boys we had identified as potential victims and stare them down. The boys, who had been happy and laughing in the excitement of waiting for the play to begin, went grey with fear. Finally, I stood in front of “Dick Newman” so that he could not intimidate the boys any further.

I was then told no further action would be taken as the boys had not named the offender.

Program Infiltrated by Pedophile Board of Management

In 1996/97 I was named ‘Young Victorian of the Year’ for Community Service, and later ‘Young Australian of the Year’ for Community Service. One of the judges was a well-connected government official Don Hyde, and another was Robert Osmotherly, the General Manager of one of the major Australian television networks, Network Ten.

After winning this award, Robert Osmotherly approached me and said that he had never heard of this terrible crime (child sexual abuse) before meeting me. He said wanted to help me get my program into every school in Victoria within five years and said he had the money and the connections to do this. He said he would raise half a million dollars in six-weeks and have it matched within 6-months. He said that he and Don Hyde would set my program up as an independent organisation and that they would establish a Board of Management consisting of all of their powerful and influential friends. Don Hyde would become President of the organisation and Robert Osmotherly, Vice-President.

I agreed to Robert Osmotherly’s proposal as it sounded as if he would enable the program to receive substantial funding and therefore be able to reach many more children within Victoria, and across Australia. I did not consider for a second that Robert Osmotherly and Don Hyde could have been deceiving me in order to get control of, and ultimately, to destroy the child sexual abuse prevention program that I had developed.

The Board members and supporters that they brought to the organisation were very powerful and from the highest echelons of society. These included the Editor-in Chief of a major Australian newspaper, the former head of a child-focussed service club, the head of the largest agricultural society in Victoria, the partner from a well-known law firm, an extremely wealthy businessman and former Network Ten board member, the head of a well-known accounting firm, the head of a successful advertising company, and others.

Despite having such wealth and powerful connections, in the two-year period that they served on the Board they organised only one donation of $25,000. The board members subsequently despised the donor and ostracised him from their community (which at the time I thought was incredibly ungrateful!). This is compared with over $200,000 my family and I raised doing the fundraising ourselves in the same time period!

Furthermore, my efforts to secure funding were being actively sabotaged. For example, after an interview on the Channel 9 ‘Today’ show, I was contacted by a well-known multi-national company, who said that they would like to fund my program. This well-known company was located in Sydney, and as Robert Osmotherly frequently went to Sydney, I asked if he would have a meeting with them on behalf of our organisation. He agreed. However, when he returned from the meeting, he said for me not to have much hope and not to contact them for six months while they sorted out a new tax issue. I found this very odd, as they had been so keen to fund the organisation when I had spoken to them. I phoned the woman whom I had spoken to, and she confirmed my suspicions. She had been at the meeting and Robert Osmotherly had told the company not to bother funding us, as “the organisation won’t be around in six months”. Needless to say, we did not receive the funding.

During this time period, I was without any income for four months. Many other people would have quit and sought other employment, however, I believed passionately in my cause and did not give up, much to the chagrin of Robert Osmotherly. On one occasion he said to me “You have given so much to this cause in your life, why don’t you just give up? You have achieved more good in your short life than many do in a long life-time. Why don’t you retire down in the country (I was 28 years old). Go on, just give up”. When I replied that I would never give up, he stormed away! I was confused by this behaviour, but as I trusted him I did not think too much more about it at the time.

The Board members achieved one other “in-kind” donation. It was the use of a Honda CRV vehicle. I appreciated the use of the vehicle while I had it (approximately 18 months). However, I later discovered that the head of the company that donated it, a close friend of Don Hyde, had just been convicted of child sex offences. These offences included the production of child pornography.

Meeting with VERY POWERFUL Pedophile Politician

After winning the award, I had a meeting with a very powerful state politician, Jeff Kennett. At that time, Jeff Kennett was the most powerful person in the state. As well as being politically powerful he also had key business interests, including in the media. When I was first introduced to him, he was staring at me quite sleazily. After he asked what work I do, and my response “child abuse prevention”, he would not make eye contact at all and sought to exclude me from the meeting in a very bullying manner. It was well-known that Jeff Kennett was a serious domestic violence offender, and that his wife was frequently being admitted to shelters in secret. However, given the power and status of Mr. Kennett, the issue was never raised in the mainstream media.

I was later to be informed by a very reliable and trusted source from the child welfare field that there is a file containing serious child sex offences (against boys) by Jeff Kennett, but because of his enormous power in Victoria, the police would not act on it. I also discovered from a former sex worker that Jeff Kennett frequently paid St. Kilda boy sex workers for sex, and that one of these boys “talked too much to the wrong people and ended up dead with an ‘accidental’ heroin overdose”. It was also alleged that Jeff Kennett intentionally abused the boys in unusual situations (for example, in a helicopter) so that if it ever got out, the boys’ testimonies would seem unbelievable. This of-course, is exactly the same strategy used by offenders in the U.S child-care centre cases. Interestingly, Jeff Kennett has recently commissioned a statue of himself – as a gargoyle.

Later I met with another politician (from the same political party) who told me that “Jeff Kennett is REALLY into that (child sex abuse)”. This same politician told me that in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, the police were “getting too close to the truth, too close to people in high positions of power who are also pedophiles” and so the unit that had been established to investigate organised pedophilia was shut down. (Soon after a pedophile police officer was put in charge of investigating these offences to ensure that the truth never got out and that this high-ranking network of offenders would never get caught).

There is much more to this disturbing story at Crazz Files. I have never seen this site before and cannot recommend it for veracity.

2005 - South Australia Parliamentary Speaker of the House, Peter Lewis

"There are a large number, but not a high percentage, of people in high places and positions of trust who take it for granted that they can indulge their sexual appetites for children of both sexes so long as they arrange to cover it up and get away with it," "It's a national problem and MPs involved seem to know each other." 1st April 2005 statement

"The most outrageous thing of all, which disturbs me most about the information ... is... what appears to be the related and organised activities of those paedophiles in high public office—that is, the judiciary, the senior ranks of human services portfolios, some police, and MPs, across the nation, especially within the ranks of the Labor Party." 4th April 2005 Resignation Speech

It is hard to find anything more recent on this story, which is very unfortunate. If you have some credible information, please forward it to me.

I wonder if Victoria's law preventing child sex abuse survivors from publishing their story using their real name, has its roots in this?

Are Satanic Rituals Real or Imaginary?

I strongly recommend caution for sensitive or vulnerable people
- this is horrific stuff!

I greatly hesitate to put this post on my blog. The blog is dedicated to raising awareness of child sexual abuse. I fear losing credibility for even raising this subject, and yet I have seen stories that suggest ritual abuse really happens. Indeed, one of my most popular stories is Demi and Nirvana in Great Danger as Police Pedophile Ring Gets Exposed. There are suggestions that Satanic Rituals may be involved in the infuriating story of Demi and Nirvana in the Netherlands.

The article below, from Wikipedia, mentions Marc Dutroux. Dutroux is the central figure in my most popular story, and arguably, the most horrific story among the many thousands on my blog. Dutroux kidnapped girls off the streets, locked them up in the basements of his several houses, often naked, and brought them out, all drugged up, to be used in God only knows what kind of horrific abuse. There are strong assertions that the abuse went up to the highest levels of the government and possibly even Belgian royalty.

There is a video at the bottom of this article from 60 Minutes Australia, of a 15 year old girl from England who endured extreme ritual abuse at the hands of her own grandmother and many others, and in a large British estate. The video was made in 1989 and I can find nothing to update this story with. Her testimony is very convincing from her words, her posture, her eyes, to the tears at the mention of her baby. There is abundant documentation that it was real.

Before you watch it, I suggest you skim through this list of Satanic Ritual cases that have hit the media in the last half decade or so. If you read it thoroughly, you will realize that some of the accusations were completely false, some were not false but exaggerated, and some were completely true.

One other thing that emerges is that many of the rituals are less about Satan worship than just plain paedophilia. You may also come away thinking that these are likely to be small, isolated groups. I believe that is true, and yet there is the testimony of Theresa in the video, and there is the Dutroux case.

List of satanic ritual abuse allegations

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

During the 1980s and 1990s a moral panic[1] about alleged Satanic ritual abuse (SRA) occurred, mainly in parts of the English-speaking world. This was propagated by certain psychotherapists, social workers, Christian fundamentalists and law enforcement officials.

Some of the cases ended in prosecution and imprisonment. Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States have had several incidents of alleged SRA which received national and international news coverage. Other countries have also had isolated events in which abuse or murder took place with Satanic ritual elements, including Argentina and Brazil.

Australia
Perth, Western Australia
In 1991, police in Perth linked Scott Gozenton, a self-professed Satanist, with organised child sexual abuse. His lawyer claimed 13 Satanic covens existed in the area, holding bizarre orgies involving children, and that Gozenton had been followed and threatened by "coven" members throughout the court proceedings.[2]

Melbourne, Victoria
In 2001, the Melbourne diocese of the Catholic Church acknowledged as "substantially true" allegations that a Melbourne priest took part in Satanic ritual abuse in which a number of deaths occurred in the 1960s, and paid compensation to a surviving victim.[3]

Central Coast, New South Wales
In 1999, two journalists from the Sun-Herald claimed to have seen evidence of the ritual abuse of children. They interviewed six mothers whose children had disclosed experiences of SRA and organised abuse in New South Wales. The children's disclosures were corroborating, although they had never met one another, and they had been able to draw representations of "Satanic" ritual sites which were similar to ritual sites uncovered by police on the central coast of New South Wales.

One mother stated that her sons remembered being drugged and hypnotised. "He said they dressed in black robes and had eye and mouth pieces cut out," she said. "I know they're dangerous people. I have had warnings outside the house telling me to stop investigations. We're fearful for our lives. The boys never want me out of their sight."[4]

Belgium
Main article: Marc Dutroux
During the investigation of the Belgian serial killer Marc Dutroux, a number of women approached police claiming to be adult survivors of a network of sexual offenders.[5] One witness described satanic ceremonies with a goal of disorienting new victims, causing them to doubt the reality of their memories and prevent disclosure.[6]

Brazil
Main article: AnĂsio Ferreira de Sousa
In the early 1990s, Superior Universal Alignment, an Argentinian-based international cult, was implicated in the ritualistic murders of several children. One of the leaders of the group, Osvaldo Marcineiro, confessed to murdering a number of young children in Satanic rituals in which the children were tortured and their body parts cannibalised.

A number of prominent citizens were arrested in relation to the murders, and it later emerged that they had paid the cult to conduct the murderous ceremonies. A search of cult member's houses turned up cult registers, guns, hooded cloaks, 100 videotapes of cult ceremonies and satanist publications, including a 200-page book by cult leader Valentina de Andrade called God, the Great Farce. Brazilian authorities suggested that the cult was connected to Satanic groups internationally.[7]

In 2003, five members of the Superior Universal Alignment cult in the Amazonian town of Altamira were convicted for the ritualistic murders of three children and the castration of two others. The victims were aged between eight and thirteen years, and they were kidnapped, tortured or killed between 1989 and 1993. Their genitals were removed and used in Satanic rituals by 75-year old village clairvoyant, Valentina de Andrade, the leader of the Superior Universal Alignment cult.[8] De Andrade had previously been sought by police in Argentina and Uruguay prior to her arrest in Brazil on suspicion of involvement in other satanic ritual killings.[9]

Following the castration of victims, two doctors involved in the sect removed the victim's other organs for sale on the international black market. Other people sentenced in relation to the murders included a former police officer, a businessman and the son of an influential landowner. The charges related to the murders of three young children and the attempted murder of another, however, victim's families say that there were at least nineteen other murdered children. The cult is based in Argentina and has branches in Holland.[10]

Canada
Main articles: Michelle Remembers and Martensville satanic sex scandal
One of the earliest claims of SRA was made in the book Michelle Remembers co-written by Canadian psychiatrist Lawrence Pazder and Michelle Smith, later Pazder's wife. The book detailed a Satanic cult that allegedly operated in Victoria, British Columbia.[11][12]

A protracted child custody case contested in family court in Hamilton, Ontario, from 1985-1987, centred on allegations of Satanic ritual abuse; it was later documented in a book written by a Globe and Mail reporter who was assigned to cover the case.[13][14]

The Martensville Satanic sex scandal occurred in Martensville, Saskatchewan in 1992, where an allegation of day care sexual abuse hysteria escalated into claims of satanic ritual abuse.

Ireland
In 2007, a jury at Dublin Country Coroner's court unanimously ruled that an infant found stabbed to death over three decades ago was the daughter of Cynthia Owen (then 'Sindy Murphy').[15][16] The infant was alleged to have been murdered by the infant's grandmother.[17] The Minister of Justice had previously rejected a request by Cynthia Owen to have the body of the child exhumed, a decision Ms. Owen did not contest.[18] The inquest was prohibited from assigning blame due to the Coroners Act of 1962 and therefore returned an open verdict.[19] Also, the jury was instructed that the standard of proof was not the "beyond a reasonable doubt" benchmark of criminal trials, but rather the lesser standard of determining whether Owen's claims were true based "on the balance of probabilities".[19] Ms. Owen made claims about a stillborn second child buried in the family garden, but police found no human remains after digging up the plot.[20][21] Owen's parents, as well as her older siblings, denied her allegations of abuse.[22]

During the trial, Owen provided her account of incest, organised abuse, and satanic ritual abuse orchestrated by her parents involving at least nine other men and her account was supported by her psychologist.[23] She claimed that her brother, Michael, and sister, Theresa, were also abused, a charge that was denied by her older brother and father. One of the alleged abusers is Cynthia Owen's older brother, Peter Murphy Junior, while the father, Peter Murphy Senior, is also an alleged abuser.[24] One brother, Martin,[22][23] committed suicide in 1995 after revealing he had been sodomised in his family home,[24] while another brother, Michael, disappeared in 2002 and sister Theresa committed suicide shortly after the discovery of his body in 2005; Theresa's detailed 37-paged suicide note corroborated Cynthia's account.[22][25] A friend of Theresa's testified at the trial, stating that Theresa had spoken to him at length about her sexual abuse in childhood. Theresa Murphy committed suicide on February 24, 2005 as a result of childhood sexual abuse, this finding was supported by police evidence.[26] Theresa was the child of her older sister, Margaret Murphy.[22]

Following the findings of the Coroner's Court, Owen has raised questions regarding the disposal of her daughter's body and the failure of the police to investigate the murder.[27] In particular, she has highlighted the fact that no blood or tissue samples were kept, that the bag and sanitary towels found alongside the murdered child have gone missing, that the records of the first inquest into the murder have gone missing, and that her daughter was buried in a mass grave alongside other infants.[22] Owen claimed that the police knew about the murder and did nothing.[28] She also stated that she felt robbed of justice by her mother's natural and peaceful death.[28]

Owen's father, Peter Murphy Senior, and three of her sisters won the right to appeal the findings of the inquest from the High Court. The family claimed that the coroner was biased toward Owen, shielded her when giving evidence and was selective in the evidence presented to the jury.[29] The case of the murdered child was reported in 2008, and in 2013, to be the subject of an ongoing investigation by the Garda SĂochĂ¡na.[30] [31] A petition calling for further investigation received 10,256 signatures, and was submitted to government authorities on April 3, 2014.[32][33][34]

Peter Murphy Senior has since died.[35]

Italy
In 1998, six adults in Emilia-Romagna were arrested with allegations of prostituting their children and the production of child pornography. The children were also reported to be involved in Satanic rituals.[36] In 2002, four people were arrested for "Satanism and paedophilia" in Pescara. Police believed that the group may have abused dozens of children in rituals involving bodies stolen from ceremonies.[37] In April 2007, six people were arrested for sexually abusing fifteen children in Rignano Flaminio. The suspects were accused of filming the children engaged in sexual acts with 'Satanic' overtones.[38]

New Zealand
Main article: Peter Ellis (childcare worker)
In September 1991, a conference in Christchurch, New Zealand, included a workshop on Satanic Ritual Abuse run by a member of the Ritual Action Group. Immediately after the conference, the print and TV media published articles and broadcast documentaries which raised public awareness and concern over the ritual abuse of children and a moral panic followed several high profile child sex abuse cases. Repeated newsmedia articles on satanic abuse and a report that police were searching for a near-mythical pornography-paedophile ring that was never found but supposedly involved high profile people in Christchurch, preceded the arrest of Peter Ellis, a child-care worker at the Christchurch Civic Crèche in New Zealand. He was found guilty on 16 counts of sexual abuse against children in 1993 and served seven years in jail. Four female co-workers were also arrested on 15 charges of abuse but were released after these charges were dropped. Peter Ellis has consistently denied any abuse, and the case is still considered controversial by many New Zealanders.[39]

In 1994, Wellington Hospital worker Geoffrey David Scott was jailed on eight of 20 charges of child sexual abuse and sentenced to seven years. The allegations were made 1991-1992. The case had none of the bizarre allegations of the Ellis case but was based on now-unacceptable repeated questioning of children and the testimony of Karen Zelas, the controversial psychiatrist who testified in the Ellis trial. [40]

The Netherlands
In 1989 a group of parents published allegations in a conservative magazine that their children had witnessed SRA and had been ritually abused from May, 1987 until October 1988 in Oude Pekela, a city in the north-eastern province of Groningen, the Netherlands. During the initial investigation, only the non-ritual aspects were reported in the press and investigated by the authorities and the allegations were unconfirmed.

In 1989 the conservative Christian news program Tijdsein reported allegations that included Satanic ritual abuse, to which there was no official response. After attending a conference in which the concept of satanic ritual abuse was discussed, Oude Pekela general practitioners Fred Jonker and Ietje Jonker-Bakker alleged that several children had been abused by unknown men in the context of Satanic rituals. This was first reported in a lecture at the Institute of Education of London University and later published in several academic journals in both English and Dutch,[41][42] but their findings were heavily criticised by American and Dutch scholars.[43][44][45][46]

National authorities were informed in 1991 and 1992 of the allegations, though no action was taken until the press was informed.[47][48] The State Secretary of Justice responded to the allegations by appointing the Werkgroep Ritueel Misbruik multidisciplinary workgroup to study SRA in the Netherlands, which produced a report in 1994.[49] The report concluded that it was unlikely SRA had occurred or the allegations were factually true, suggested the allegations were a defence mechanism produced in part by suggestive questioning by 'believing' therapists, and that the stories were contemporary legends dispersed through a network of therapists and patients who were concerned with dissociative identity disorder.[49]

South Africa

Van Rooyen case
In 1990, Gert van Rooyen and his accomplice were accused of murdering several young girls, ultimately committing suicide while running from the police. One of the accused's sons was later himself accused of murdering a Zimbabwean girl in 1991; the same son claimed his father's victims were involved in international child pornography rings, slavery and Satanism rituals, but no evidence of this was found.[50][51][52] The case was so similar to crimes committed by Marc Dutroux that multiple agencies investigated a possible international smuggling ring in prostituted children and body parts.[53]

United Kingdom
There have been a number of cases in the United Kingdom in which SRA has been alleged. Some of these cases have garnered significant media attention, and they are listed below.

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children documented allegations of ritual abuse in 1990, with the publication of survey findings that, of 66 child protection teams in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, 14 teams had received reports of ritual abuse from children and seven of them were working directly with children who had been ritually abused, sometimes in groups of 20.[54] An investigation into SRA allegations by the British government produced over two hundred reports, of which only three were substantiated and proved to be examples of pseudosatanic, in which sexual abuse was the actual motivation and the rituals were incidental.[55][56]

Cleveland, UK
Main article: Cleveland child abuse scandal
The Cleveland child abuse scandal featured allegations of satanic ritual abuse.[57]

Rochdale
In 1990 there was a case in Rochdale in which around twenty children were removed from their homes by social services, who alleged the existence of SRA after discovering 'Satanic indicators'. No evidence was found of Satanic apparatus, and charges were dismissed when a court ruled the allegations were untrue. The children who were removed from their homes sued the city council in 2006 for compensation and an apology. Richard Scorer acted for five of the families.[58]

Orkney
Main article: South Ronaldsay child abuse scandal
In 1990-1991 nine children suspected of being sexually abused by their families and an alleged child abuse ring were removed by social services in Orkney. The abuse was also alleged to involve "ritualistic elements".[59] The parents approached the media and made the case national and international news. In April 1991, a sheriff ruled that the evidence was seriously flawed and the children were returned home.[59]

In June, social services appealed the sheriff's ruling[60] but the appeal was overturned and an official inquiry was established in August 1991, which after 9 months' investigation at a cost of £6 million, published its report in October 1992. It described the dismissal of the first judgment as "most unfortunate" and criticized all those involved, including the social workers, the police, and the Orkney Islands Council. Social workers' training, methods, and judgment were given special condemnation, and the report stated that the concept of "ritual abuse" was "not only unwarrantable at present but may affect the objectivity of practitioners and parents".[61][62] A 1994 government report based on three years of research found that there was no foundation to any of the Satanic abuse claims.[59]

Broxtowe
In October 1987 children were removed from their families in Nottingham, and in February 1989 a Broxtowe family was charged with multigenerational child sexual abuse and neglect. A 600-page report on the incident concluded that there was no evidence of the SRA claims made by children or corroborating adults. Though the children may have been 'sadistically terrorized', allegations of organized Satanic abuse were found to be baseless and the indicators used by the Social Services department were without validity.[63]

Lewis
In 2003 allegations by three children in Lewis, Scotland resulted in the arrest of eight people for sexual abuse occurring between 1990 and 2000. A 2005 investigation by the Social Work Inspection Agency found extensive evidence of sexual, physical and emotional abuse and neglect.[64] Police investigation resulted in allegations of an island-wide "Satanic paedophile ring",[64][65] though charges were dropped nine months later following an inconclusive investigation.[64][65]

A key witness who had implicated her family in the abuse and whose evidence was "vital" to the case of satanic abuse recanted her testimony in 2006[65][66] and the media raised questions about the nature of the police interviewing techniques.[65][66] with a police spokesperson replying that the witness was questioned appropriately and that allegations were made by numerous witnesses.[66]

Kidwelly
Main article: Kidwelly sex cult
In March 2011, four adults who lived in a cul-de-sac in the Welsh town of Kidwelly were convicted of multiple sex offences against children and young adults. The group led by Colin Batley was described by the media as a "Satanic sex cult", a "quasi-religious sex cult" and a "paedophile cult"[67][68] however the group members were not followers of Satanism.[citation needed] The prosecution said they practised "free sex" and were influenced by Aleister Crowley, a practitioner of ceremonial magic who founded the belief system of Thelema. They dressed in hoods and read from Crowley's The Book of the Law, the central text of Thelema and some victims were made to wear inverted crosses.[69] Members of the cult were initiated in a ceremony involving sex with an adult, and they were threatened with being killed if they did not take part in the ceremony. Some of the victims were forced into prostitution.[70] The abuse also took place outside of a ritual context, such as Batley taking victims to a caravan [71] to rape, in line with Jean La Fontaine's findings and her conclusion that sexual gratification, not religion, is the motive of abusers.[citation needed]

United States
Main articles: Kern County child abuse cases, McMartin preschool trial, Ricky Kasso, West Memphis 3, Little Rascals Day Care Center, Oak Hill satanic ritual abuse trial, Fells Acres Day Care Center preschool trial, and Pace memorandum
In the United States, major allegations of Satanic ritual abuse occurred in the Kern County child abuse cases, McMartin preschool trial and the West Memphis 3, which garnered world-wide media coverage. It was eventually determined that no satanic abuse ever took place in these cases due to false testimony and police misconduct. There have been countless, debunked allegations of SRA in the United States; of which the most recent allegation was Pizzagate; a speculated pedophile ring in the Washington D.C area at ping pong themed restaurant, Comet Ping Pong. In the allegations, Hillary Clinton was an avid supporter and member in the pedophilia ring, with various sources of selected evidence pointing to her possible involvement and the possible involvement of Clinton's associations.[72]

Minnesota
The first such case occurred in Jordan, Minnesota, in 1983, where several children made allegations against an unrelated man and their parents. The man confessed and then identified a number of the children’s parents as perpetrators. Ultimately twenty-four adults were charged with child abuse though only three went to trial with two acquittals and one conviction.[73] Despite strong medical findings of sexual assault, all other charges were dropped after the young child witnesses decompensated under the duress of the criminal trial.[74]

During the investigation, the children made allegations regarding the manufacturing of child pornography, ritualistic animal sacrifice, coprophagia, urophagia and infanticide, at which point the Federal Bureau of Investigation was alerted.[75] No criminal charges resulted from the FBI investigation, and in his review of the case, the Attorney General noted that the initial investigation by the local police and county attorney was so poor that it had destroyed the opportunity to fully investigate the children’s allegations.[76]

Judge Antonin Scalia referred to the Minnesota case in his summation on a later case, and stated, "[t]here is no doubt that some sexual abuse took place in Jordan; but there is no reason to believe it was as widespread as charged," and cited the repeated, well-intentioned but coercive techniques used by the investigators as damaging to the investigation.[73] The bizarre allegations of the children, the ambiguities of the investigation and the unsuccessful prosecutions were widely covered by the media. A number of accused parents confessed to sexually abusing their children, received immunity, and underwent treatment for sexual abuse, while parental rights for six other children in the case were terminated.[77]

Louisiana
In December 2007, Austin Trey Bernard was found guilty of raping his son and daughter, convicted on the basis of three previous confessions and a detailed diary of his actions although he pleaded not guilty.[78] The allegations came to light upon the confession of one of the defendants.[79] Bernard confessed the sexual abuse of his children as well as claiming to have participated in satanically-themed ritualistic abuse including the use of animal parts and blood.[80]

Priest peddled child porn to ‘punish God’ for poker losses

The question is: how do you get ordained as a Catholic priest without knowing anything about God?

A Pennsylvania priest, convicted of downloading child pornograhpy, said he commited the crime to get revenge on God – who he felt was attacking him when he lost poker games.

Kevin Gugliotta, 55, from Mahwah, New Jersey, and a former priest in Honesdale, PA, was sentenced to 11 to 23 months in jail on Thursday, with credit for 10 months of time served while awaiting trial.

According to pre-trial records, Gugliotta told probation officers that he was an avid poker player, and he felt God was attacking him when he lost games. To get revenge on God, Gugliotta said, he downloaded child pornography.

“That was his reason. He's not happy that's how he felt, as the judge indicated. There are other ways to handle issues and handle anger,” said Gugliotta’s attorney, Jim Swetz, to WNEP.

Gugliotta was arrested in September 2016 and charged with 20 counts of possessing child porn and 20 counts of disseminating images of children involved in sexual acts. In March, he pleaded guilty to one count of dissemination in return for the 39 other counts being dismissed.

Now, the question is, why did the DA make this sweetheart deal? I'm under the impression that most plea bargains in child sex abuse cases are either because the proof was flimsy or to spare the victim from having to testify. No victim testimony was required here so was the DA's case weak?

Gugliotta will remain on probation for five years following his release and is required to register as a sex offender for 25 years. He was removed from his parish by the Archdiocese of Newark in September, after they learned of the investigation.

Gugliotta could also face removal from priesthood “now that the process in the courts has been completed,” said Jim Goodness, director of communications for the Archdiocese of Newark, to the Seattle Times. “We’ve also kept Rome abreast of the situation,” he added.

He should be removed, if not for being a pedophile, then for have no knowledge of God whatsoever.

Court orders new trial in satanic
sacrificial murder case

Yesterday, an Austen couple received $3.4m for 2 decades in prison for wrongful conviction of accusations of satanic child abuse in a daycare. (4th story in link).

Kentucky’s highest court has ordered a new trial in the infamous satanic killing case in which two men were convicted of sacrificing a 19-year-old woman and spent some 22 years in prison.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court of Kentucky vacated Jeffrey Dewayne Clark and Garr Keith Hardin’s convictions, ordering a new trial after DNA evidence from the 1992 murder was tested with modern technology.

The new DNA analysis showed the single hair found on Rhonda Sue Warford wasn’t Hardin’s and the blood-stained rag found in Hardin’s room, wasn’t from a sacrificial ritual, but rather from Hardin cutting himself on a chalice’s jagged edge.

"This is such a glorious day," said Vickie Howser, Hardin's sister, to AP. "After 22 years, it is so about time for him to have a decent life. They took his life away from him for something he did not do."

Hardin’s girlfriend, Rhonda Sue Warford, was 19 when she left her home in Louisville after midnight on April 2, 1992. She was found dead 50 miles away in Meade County three days later with multiple stab wounds.

Hardin, and his close friend Clark, became the subject of the investigation after Warford’s mother told police she believed the boys, and her daughter, were all involved in satanism.

Other factors, like Hardin’s subsequent confession to the murder, and Clark’s confession to helping Hardin move the body, were found to have little merit as they were given during parole hearings and were "insincere and contrived admissions, which are induced solely by the yearning to be free."

Hardin’s attorney, Larry Simon, said he expected Meade County prosecutors to try the men a second time.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- A Cedar Falls man who'd founded a traveling nature show has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in a child sex case.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports that Barry Devoll was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Des Moines. He'd pleaded guilty to attempted enticement of a minor. Authorities say the 33-year-old Devoll had sent lurid text messages to and exchanged nude photos with a 15-year-old boy in 2015.

Devoll is known by the stage name "Bixby." Authorities say he'd founded the nonprofit Blue Trunk Educational Series, a traveling show that taught children about nature and conservation.

A related federal case is pending for Blue Trunk's director, Christopher Kaiser.

Cadaver dogs will join search of 3 brothers' Shelton home in sex abuse investigation
by: KIRO 7 News Staff

After detectives searched for days at the North Seattle house where three brothers allegedly spent most of their lives abusing children, the investigation now turns to a 17-acre property in Shelton.

Charles Emery, 82, Thomas Emery, 80, and Edwin Emery, 79, were arrested and charged with possessing child pornography. (7th story on link)

Detectives said they discovered a staggering amount of child pornography, along with children's worn clothing, underwear, small shoes, toys and movies. Investigators believe each of the men spent the majority of their lives sexually abusing children.

But it was an unearthed “manifesto” about Satanic rituals, kidnapping, raping and killing girls that led detectives to dig under sheds, searching for evidence of potential murder, detectives said. Charles’ writings were found buried and partially burned -- along with a child's hat.

Their search extended from the home in the Green Lake neighborhood to another home the brothers owned 90 miles away in Shelton.

Lindsay Baum

The Emery's now-deceased brother, Donald, remained in the Shelton home until 2016. Grays Harbor County Sheriff Rick Scott told KIRO 7 News that detectives intend to do an extensive search of the Shelton property; cadaver dogs and the Department of Homeland Security will help with the search.

Scott and his detectives are also investigating whether the brothers have any connection to the 2009 disappearance of Lindsey Baum.

Baum disappeared from McCleary while walking back from a friend’s house. The 10-year-old’s disappearance sparked a nationwide investigation.

McCleary is a roughly 30-minute drive from Shelton.

“The Lindsey Baum case has been and will be a priority until we find closure, or find Lindsey safe. We’ve worked on the case every day in some shape or form,” Sheriff Rick Scott said.

Additionally, Mason County detectives are looking into the cold case of Tracy West, who was abducted and killed at 17 years old in 1988.

A file about Baum was found in the Shelton home, but there is no known connection between the brothers and the disappearance of Baum.

Tracy West, 17, was called into work at this Shelton restaurant in 1988. She was on her way on a trail riding a motorcycle when she was abducted and killed.

Nashville school board leader:
'Heartbreaking' if educators not reporting abuse
Dave Boucher, USA TODAY NETWORK - Tennessee

The head of the Metro Nashville Board of Education said it is a "tragedy" if local educators are not properly reporting suspected or known cases of child abuse.

Nashville School Board Chair Anna Shephard

"Being a parent and a grandparent, it’s heartbreaking to think we are not doing what we are supposed to be doing for our children," said board Chair Anna Shepherd in a phone interview.

Shepherd's comments come days after two prosecutors in Nashville and East Tennessee told The Tennessean that educators not following mandatory reporting requirements is a widespread problem.

"The lack of reporting from schools here in Davidson County and probably surrounding counties has become an epidemic," said Chad Butler, a child sex abuse prosecutor in Davidson County, in a previous interview. "It’s happening so frequently that I can’t help but think it’s not a coincidence."

State law mandates any adult with a suspicion or direct knowledge of child abuse must report it immediately to either child services or the police. Not doing so is a misdemeanor and could mean jail time.

However, Butler and East Tennessee Prosecutor Stephen Crump said that's not always happening when school officials see or suspect abuse. An MNPS teacher, who requested anonymity for fear of retribution, did not remember ever receiving explicit instructions on how to file a report with the Department of Children's Services.

After speaking with The Tennessean, Shepherd said the issue is serious enough that she would directly speak with Director of Schools Shawn Joseph about the situation.

Fellow board member Will Pinkston said Wednesday he sent a request Joseph and his team about the mandatory reporting policies.

Butler's claims are "highly concerning," said board member Mary Pierce. "Obviously we need to make sure our teachers and administrators are doing the right thing," Pierce said.

Shepherd said the board can ask Joseph to initiate an internal review of the policy and determine whether educators are following the rules. Pinkston said that would be a good idea.

"Anytime there are allegations about these kinds of issues, board members — as a group and as representatives of our individual constituencies — need to push for the Central Office to amplify and, if necessary, clarify reporting policies," Pinkston said.

When she saw the article, board member and former teacher Christina Buggs said she reached out to a few colleagues. "It was a shock to us, but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening," Buggs said, saying it is scary and frustrating if abuse is not being reported.

She agreed it was important for the administration to review reporting policy sooner rather than later. Buggs, Pierce and Pinkston all said they were speaking individually and not for the board.

Questions of the MNPS policy and practices arose after a $30 million lawsuit filed earlier this month in Williamson County accused officials at Brentwood Academy of not properly reporting the alleged repeated sexual assaults of a 12-year-old boy. The school and it's headmaster have denied wrongdoing.

Tony Majors, executive officer of student services, said last week MNPS tells every principal to review reporting standards with educators at the start of the school year. While MNPS policy requires immediate reporting, principals are listed before DCS on a list of authorities educators should contact if they suspect abuse.

Majors said the district will change the policy, which was reiterated in a statement Thursday from district spokeswoman Michelle Michaud.

"The health and well-being of our district’s students is of the utmost importance to MNPS. Because of that, an open dialogue between the District Attorney’s office and MNPS is critical. We are in the process of backtracking to see if the Tennessean’s allegations have merit," Michaud said.

"In the meantime, we continue to train our teachers and staff on proper reporting procedures pursuant to Tennessee State law. As well, we are amending our policy to read the chronological order by which a teacher or staff member should report a suspected case of child abuse."

Butler also said issues with educators not appropriately reporting in Nashville have "gotten to the point in our office where we’re just going to start prosecuting them."

Tennessee child abuse hotline

Any adult who suspects or knows of child abuse in Tennessee is required by law to notify the Department of Children's Services or local law enforcement. The DCS abuse hotline is 877-237-0004.
