Approaching Sodom > French LGBT Activist Arrested For Raping, Torturing Severely Disabled 4-Y/O Girl

Sin is Progressive

Prominent French LGBT Activist Arrested For

Raping, Torturing Severely Disabled 4-Year-Old Girl

A prominent French LGBT activist has been arrested and charged with subjecting a severely developmentally disabled toddler to horrific sexual and physical abuse. Pierre-Alain Cottineau, 32, was arrested on September 23 after landing at Nantes Airport upon return from a vacation in Tunisia.

Cottineau was well-known within his region of Loire-Atlantique for his political activism, which included advocacy for the LGBT community, youth, and minority populations. In 2021, he stood for departmental elections under the banner of La France Insoumise (LFI), a left-wing political party that has a hard-line “zero-tolerance” policy on “sexist, racist, anti-Semitic or LGBTIphobic remarks or behavior” amongst its members.

In 2018, Cottineau was elected the president of The Rainbow Shelter (Le Refuge Arc-en-ciel), and hosted the community’s first-ever “forum” to combat homophobia and transphobia.

Cottineau, a professional caregiver and family aide, co-founded multiple activist organizations, including the Oudon Solidarity and Mutual Aid Collective, as well as the LGBTQI+ Association of Ancenis (EsAc). Since 2022, he has also contributed to the organization of the annual pride parade in Ancenis-Saint-Géréon.

During an interview with FranceBleu, Cottineau identified himself as a member of the LGBT community, stating: “We suffer from invisibility. This walk is there to make people understand that LGBTQI+ people also exist in the [French] countryside.”

Disturbingly, Cottineau’s respected history working with “vulnerable populations” may have contributed to his ability to be approved as a foster father, facilitating his abuse of a disabled toddler.

Cottineau obtained approval from Child Welfare services to become a foster parent on December, 1, 2023, specifically requesting children under the age of 6. He was rapidly matched with a developmentally disabled 4-year-old girl on December 7, 2023, who was then placed directly in his home.

According to Ouest-France, the Council claims that Cottineau’s criminal record had been “double-checked” and that the “approval procedure, recruitment, and regular monitoring … had not revealed any warning signs.”

Men, especially single men, or married gay men who want to look after someone else's children, ought to ring alarm bells.

Should LGBTQs be eligible to Foster or adopt children? Not in my biased and not so humble opinion. People like Cottineau are the resaon why.

On September 13, 2024, the Office of Minors, a newly-created division within the French National Police dedicated to combating violence against children, became aware of particularly graphic child sexual abuse videos being circulated through Telegram. Investigators were alerted by authorities in a bordering nation, who suspected the young victim in the video was a French national.

Immediately, investigators got to work to identify the child’s location using the few details they were able to ascertain from the video. The key element: a medical bed that was seen in the video. Within a week, investigators were able to locate the child by tracing the distribution channel of the exact model of the bed.

Arriving at Cottineau’s home, police learned he had gone on vacation to Tunisia after hospitalizing the child.

On September 23, Cottineau was arrested at the airport after arriving on his flight from Tunisia. Upon police interrogation, he admitted to sexually and physically abusing the toddler, and distributing videos through pedophile networks in France.

While in custody, Cottineau professed to being a pedophile. He has since been indicted for rape, torture, and barbarism.

I can't imagine what 'barbarism' entails, and probably wouldn't be able to stand finding out.

Investigators are currently working to determine if there are additional victims, and Cottineau will remain in custody awaiting a hearing. He is facing life imprisonment if convicted.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Warrants are offering new information about the arrest of a now-former Greensboro Police Department officer and his wife.

On Friday, Greensboro Police Department said that Joshua Oliver, 35, had been charged with six counts of statutory sex offense and six counts of indecent liberties with a minor after the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office contacted them about allegations against him in November.

Oliver was put on administrative duty after the police department was made aware of the allegations, which did not happen during his official capacity as a police officer or in Greensboro Police Department’s jurisdiction.

Crystal Oliver

The District Attorney chose to move forward with charges, and warrants were filed on Jan. 20. Oliver was officially terminated from the police department after Chief Thompson learned additional information about the investigation.

The warrants allege that Oliver was sexually abusing the minor, who was under 13, over a period of two years, and the earliest date of offense was in November 2020, with incidents in May and November 2021 and May 2022.

Oliver’s secured bond was set at $1 million.

Oliver’s wife, Crystal Oliver, has also been charged with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The warrants indicate that both of them are not to have contact with the children involved.

Oliver had worked for Greensboro Police Department since 2016.

GRAYSON COUNTY, Texas (KXII) - A Denison man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for multiple child sex crimes.

According to the Grayson County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, 43-year old David James Sagers was sentenced to 30 years in prison for two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and 20 years in prison for two counts of possession with intent to promote child pornography. The sentences will run concurrent.

In January of 2020, investigators with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office received a CPS referral regarding allegations of child sexual abuse, according to a press release.

The district attorney’s office said the child provided a descriptive and detailed outcry of multiple incidents of sexual abuse at the Grayson County Children’s Advocacy Center. The child also reported several incidents of sexual abuse were witnessed by the child’s sibling.

The press release states investigators learned the child was seeing a therapist and it was discovered the child also made an outcry to the therapist. Numerous witnesses, including family members, were interviewed.

In July of 2022, a Grayson County Grand Jury returned a multiple-count indictment against the defendant for the child sexual abuse.

The press release states in September of 2022, the Grayson County Criminal Assistant District Attorney assigned to the Sager investigation was contacted by a third party who advised that eviction proceeding were being conducted in Denison on Sagers’ residence.

Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Investigators discovered child sex dolls which were still in boxes with address labels belonging to Sagers, along with digital video disks containing child sexual exploitation material (CSAM), according to the press release.

“When our office learned about the eviction, we figured it was a long shot, but why not ask the investigators to go out there to look around,” said Assistant District Attorney Don Hoover. We had no idea how much evidence they would uncover and how much it would bolster the case.

District Attorney Brett Smith added, “Whether it was luck or divine intervention, regardless we are thankful this case took a strange turn in our favor. Most importantly this is one child victim who did not have to testify because the defendant chose to plead guilty.”

In November of 2022, a subsequent Grayson County Grand Jury returned another indictment against the defendant for multiple counts of possession with intent to promote child pornography.

According to the attorney’s office, due to the nature of the offenses of conviction, Sagers must serve at least half of his sentence before being considered for parole, and will be required to register as a sex offender for life and will be subject to a lifetime protective order with the victims in this case.

CASE: Sayed Ali Reza Fatemy (Case #21FE015617)

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Daniel Jensen, Cyber Crimes Unit

Sayed Ali Reza Fatemy was convicted by a jury of six counts of child molestation and one count of aggravated possession of child pornography.

On September 9, 2021, members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit within the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant on Sayed Fatemy’s home in Rio Linda. The search warrant was the result of a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that someone from inside the home was uploading videos of child pornography to the internet.

Officers seized Fatemy’s electronic devices and online accounts, which revealed a total of 11,207 images of child pornography in his possession.  Some of the videos found were of Fatemy sexually abusing an infant.

Fatemy faces a maximum sentence of 18 years and 8 months in prison.  Sentencing is set for February 17, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. in Department 33 before the Honorable Laurel White.

Former foster dad Justin Dwayne Johnson Sr. sentenced

for recording, molesting 18 children

By Elizabeth Pritchett, Fox News
November 18, 2022 3:13pm  Updated

A former foster parent in Florida convicted of recording and sexually abusing the children in his care was sentenced to 170 years in prison on Thursday.

The Department of Justice said 48-year-old Justin Dwayne Johnson Sr., of Sanford, Fla., was sentenced to federal prison on four counts of production of child sexual abuse material, one count of production and attempted production of child sexual abuse material, and one count of possession of child sex abuse material.

Child Protection Services began an investigation into Johnson in January 2022 after he allegedly told an acquaintance he was secretly recording his foster children “in the nude.”

He also reportedly said he had videos of him “touching the children,” according to the DOJ.

Johnson took care of over 20 children in the past three years, Fox 35 Orlando reported.

When detectives looked through Johnson’s phone, they said there were several images and videos of child sex abuse material.

Eighteen children were identified as victims sexually exploited by Johnson. According to reports by Law & Crime, the victims ranged in age from infancy to 16 years old.

Justin Dwayne Johnson Sr., 48, was sentenced to 170 years in prison for secretly recording his foster children and sexually abusing some of them.

Good grief! One look at this guy should have eliminated him from foster care!

“Instead of offering a haven for foster children, this predator betrayed the children with a home of horrific abuse,” said FBI Tampa Special Agent in Charge David Walker, according to Fox 35. “The FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force is committed to identifying, locating, and recovering the innocent victims of sexual abuse and ensuring their abusers are brought to justice.”

Johnson also reportedly took pictures up women’s skirts in numerous locations over the years.

Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith posted the following statement on Facebook after the sentencing was announced:

“Johnson’s crimes are particularly disturbing, in that he was in a position that is expected to provide protection and care to already vulnerable children, and he exploited that role and further victimized these young children. I hope his sentence brings some comfort to those who he has abused.”

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Sanford police and the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.

Another case where social services failed children - here, more than 20 times.

Turpin siblings file lawsuit alleging 'severe abuse' in foster care

after 2018 rescue

By Olivia Rubin, Christina Ng, Josh Margolin, and Steve Osunsami
July 20, 2022, 5:15 PM

Six of the 13 Turpin siblings, who were rescued in 2018 from their parents' home, have now filed a lawsuit alleging they suffered "severe abuse and neglect" in foster care after their rescue.

Six of the 13 Turpin siblings who were rescued in 2018 from a life of captivity in their parents' Perris, California, home have filed a lawsuit against Riverside County and the private foster care agency tasked with protecting them, alleging they suffered "severe abuse and neglect" for years in foster care after their rescue.

The younger Turpin siblings say they were the victims of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse by a foster family they were placed with after they were rescued by law enforcement in 2018, according to two lawsuits filed electronically overnight in a California court by the six youngest Turpin siblings. In their legal complaints, the children also allege that the officials charged with overseeing their care "failed to report" the "severe" abuse and neglect when warned of it.

"These children who were chained to their beds for a great majority of their life finally are free, and then the county places them with ChildNet and puts them in another position where they are further abused," Elan Zektser, the attorney representing the two oldest Turpin siblings who are suing and who have since aged out of foster care, said in an interview with ABC's Good Morning America on Wednesday.

Officials kept the siblings in the foster home for three years despite the siblings having alerted them to the abuse, according to the complaint. The foster family -- who the siblings say subjected them to "severe" abuse that included "hitting them in the face with sandals, pulling their hair, hitting them with a belt, and striking their heads" -- has since been arrested and charged with multiple accounts of abuse and neglect, to which they have pleaded not guilty.

"Our hearts go out to the Turpin siblings," a spokesperson for the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services said when contacted by ABC News. "Any instance when a child is harmed is heartbreaking. We continue to evaluate our practices with a critical eye and are committed to understanding and addressing the root cause."

In response to the suit, the spokesperson said, "Once Riverside County receives a lawsuit, it is thoroughly reviewed to determine next steps. The county does not comment on pending legal matters or specific juvenile cases due to confidentiality laws."

A ChildNet spokesperson said in a statement, "At this time, our organization is not at liberty to disclose facts or discuss the allegations made in the complaint. We look forward to providing the facts at the appropriate time in court. Our agency has been serving California's most vulnerable, traumatized youth for over 50 years. We have a strong track record of providing excellent care and continue to demonstrate our commitment to these children."

Jordan Turpin is seen here during an exclusive interview with ABC News' Diane Sawyer.
ABC News

In November 2021, a ChildNet spokesperson would not answer ABC News' questions about the Turpin case because of confidentiality laws, saying only, "We take our work very seriously, including the extensive vetting of parents."

The suit comes less than two weeks after an outside investigation into the care of the 13 Turpin siblings found that the siblings had been "failed" by the social services system that was supposed to care for them and help transition them into society.

That eight-month probe was commissioned in response to an investigation by ABC News as part of the Diane Sawyer 20/20 special, "Escape From A House of Horror," that aired last November, in which two of the Turpin siblings spoke out for the first time about the challenges and hardships they have faced in the years since sheriff's deputies rescued them from a life of home imprisonment and abuse at the hands of their parents.

"It's easy to be angry at the abusers themselves ... but really when you have institutions or companies that allow abuse to go on and turn their eyes or their head and pretend like it's not happening, that's where we as a community should be upset," Zektser said.

According to the complaints filed electronically overnight, Riverside County and its contractor ChildNet knew that the foster family the Turpin siblings were placed with was "unfit to be foster parents because they had a prior history of abusing and neglecting children who had been placed in their care."

When the county and ChildNet were made aware that the Turpin siblings were suffering additional abuse at the hands of the foster family, according to the complaint, it was not reported to law enforcement or child protective services. Instead, ChildNet and the county "actively withheld this information from the authorities," the complaint alleges.

Other abuse the siblings say they suffered in the foster home included being forced eat excessively and then being forced to eat "their own vomit," as well as being forced to eat "excessive amounts of food, which led to eating disorders." Some of the siblings accuse their former foster father of "grabbing and fondling" them and "kissing them on the mouth."

"This was a home that ChildNet was representing was a safe place to put children. And it simply wasn't at all," said Roger Booth, the attorney representing the four youngest siblings.

"The county has oversight over ChildNet. In fact they are required to check in with these children that the county placed with ChildNet," Zektser added.

These undated photos provided by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department
show David Allen Turpin, left, and Louise Anna Turpin.

"This case is one where the entire world was watching," Booth said. "And yet, even in that situation, the county and ChildNet dropped the ball, which tells you, I think pretty clearly, what must be happening, and what we've seen happen in other cases with kids who aren't famous, who are -- whose cases are not high-profile, who nobody knows about."

This was one of the horrors that bothers me. How many kids are out there in foster care who are being abused by their carers or someone else and those responsible just don't want to see the truth. There should be regular documentation by ChildNet and other such agencies that confirm that foster children are not being sexually abused. How difficult can that be?

The Turpin siblings were rescued from their parents' home in January 2018 after Jordan Turpin, then 17, executed a daring escape in the middle of the night and called 911. Authorities subsequently discovered that their parents had subjected them to brutal violence and deprived them of food, sleep, hygiene, education, and health care.

David and Louise Turpin pleaded guilty to 14 felony counts in 2019 and were sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Today, four of the 13 siblings are still in foster care, and Booth said they are now together and safe in a new home.

"They seem to be on the road to recovery," Booth said.

Zektser said the Turpin siblings have been clear about why they feel the lawsuit is necessary to them.

"They have highlighted that the most important thing to them is that this doesn't happen to other kids," he said. "I can't even tell you how many times our clients have told us, 'We just don't want this to happen to someone else.'"

Italy in Shock as Mayor, Medics & Others Caught Brainwashing Kids to Sell Them into Foster Care

Many of them sold to some very disturbing people

© gettyimages

Italians are reeling from the revelation that a crime ring, which includes a mayor, doctors and social workers, had been brainwashing children to say their parents abused them, so as to easily sell them on to foster families.

So far eighteen people, including the mayor of the town of Bibbiano, near Reggio Emilia in northern Italy, have been arrested.

They were suspected of working together to brainwash the kids, who were taken from disadvantaged families under false pretexts, into believing they’d been abused at home. This was later used as a justification to seize the children and, basically, to sell them to foster parents at a high price.

The psychologists at the Hansel and Gretel Association in the town of Moncalieri, near Turin, have used a variety of bizarre techniques to achieve their sinister goal.

They relied on persuasion to make their victims believe that their parents hurt and sexually abused them; showed fake, childlike drawings with added sexual details and even enacted plays, dressing up in scary masks to represent their moms and dads as being vile and dangerous.

The police said the children were also subjected to small electric shocks, referred to as “the little memory machine” by the shrinks.

An affected girl told La Repubblica paper that when she said that she couldn’t remember and was asking why she couldn’t see her dad anymore, she was told: “But don’t you remember you said you didn’t want to see him? I remember this.”

The psychologist then explained: “Yes, you said you didn’t want to see him because you were afraid that he would hurt you… that he might seek vengeance… or take you away. Do you remember the fear you felt? Do you remember now?”

But the child insisted that she couldn’t remember anything of the sort and that she cried over being separated from her father.

The police also said that they discovered dozens of letters and gifts from biological parents, which the perpetrators had never passed on to the kids.

Foster Carers a Nightmare

The people to whom the boys and girls were handed over reportedly included sex shop owners, persons with psychological disorders and parents whose children had committed suicide. It was under this ‘foster care’ that at least two of the victims suffered actual sexual abuse, according to reports.

The separation from their parents and the psychological torture have taken a heavy toll on the affected kids, with some losing hope for a future and resorting to self-harm.

The criminal organization was busted by police as part of an operation codenamed “Angels and Demons,” which was launched in late summer 2018 after an unnaturally high number of child sex abuse reports were spotted as coming from an area in the Reggio Emilia province.

Those arrested, as well as 27 others under investigation, have been charged with mistreatment of minors, violence, abuse of office, fraud and falsifying public records.

Italian PM Giuseppe Conte called the crime “frightening and shocking”, while Minister for Families and Disabilities, Lorenzo Fontana, described it as a “shockingly serious” development and promised a probe into the country’s adoption system.

Italians on the internet said they were praying for the estimated 30 kids who were affected, and demanded an appropriate punishment for the wrongdoers, whom they branded as “animals.”

“Forgive us for what was done to you, dear children. You are our future. I believe in the fairness of our judicial system,” one of the users wrote.

Russian man is arrested on suspicion of raping five schoolgirls more than 700 times
By Will Stewart for MailOnline

A Russian man has been arrested on suspicion of at least 729 rapes against schoolgirls who he fostered from a local orphanage over a five year period.

The alleged paedophile exploited the five girls as his personal sex slaves, according to state investigators.

He was detained after one of his victims - all aged 17 and under - reported the sexual abuse to teachers at her school in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

All 729 separate criminal offences under which he is being investigated involve the rape law.

(general view of the town pictured)

Reports citing law enforcement sources in eastern Russia say the unnamed man forced four of the five orphan girls to succumb to his sexual demands on a daily basis.

He and his civil wife had a family of a dozen children including nine foster children, according to RIA.

She had fostered three boys and he was the sole legal guardian for the five adolescent girls he is accused of sexually abusing, plus one other child.

The couple also had three children of their own, it was reported. It is unclear if the woman was aware of the alleged sexual abuse.

Of course she was aware. If it was happening every day for several years, how could she not be aware?

Local childcare staff are now under criminal investigation for allowing a suspected paedophile to foster the girls, and failing to make proper checks on the well being of the orphans.

The man and woman had received awards and commendations from social services for successfully fostering the children, it is understood.

Officials in the Khabarovsk region of eastern Russia are said to be 'deeply shocked' over the allegations against a man seen as a 'model foster father'.

Alla Kuznetsova, education minister in the region, said the foster parents had passed repeated inspections by social services.

'In the case of this family, there were no alarms at all,' she said. In the first year there were five inspections.

In subsequent years, two checks annually, she said.

She confirmed: 'Those five girls for whom the man was guardian have been sent back to the orphanage.'

And will they get some badly needed psychological treatment?

The other foster children were also removed from the family home. It is not known how young the schoolgirls were when the alleged abuse began, reported The Siberian Times.

The state paid the widower a total of £1,320 a month to care for the underage girls who he is accused of sexually exploiting.

Igor Komissarov, senior assistant to the chairman of Russian Federal Investigative Committee, said: 'It was established that the suspect committed 729 crimes to the five fostered girls.'

Ilya Gudkov, from Khabarovsk Regional Investigative Committee, equivalent of the FBI, said: 'The violent sexual actions of the foster father are now under investigation according to article 131 - rape.'

Detectives claim that 'between September 2012 and February 2017 the man regularly committed heavy sexually violent crimes against the five children of which he was the guardian.

Another local report said there would be questions for the authorities over how the girls had been allowed to become the foster father's 'sex slaves'.

Earlier reports had suggested the man was a 'lonely' widower who had been allowed to foster the children.

A 25-year-old man who sexually abused a girl on Tinian starting when she was just 6 years old was resentenced Friday to a maximum of 10 years in prison.

Anthony Herrera Borja was directed to serve the 10-year sentence day to day but he is still eligible for parole after serving six years of his sentence.

Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho required Borja to register as a sex offender.

Borja was given credit for time served. No fine were imposed.

The 10-year prison term is the same sentence that Camacho previously imposed on Borja. The difference is that the new sentence now allows the defendant to be eligible for parole after serving six years.

Camacho resentenced Borja after the CNMI Supreme Court in November 2015 vacated his 10-year sentence and remanded the matter for resentencing.

N. Marianas Islands

The high court noted that the sentence was not sufficiently individualized because information, particularly to Borja’s life, went unacknowledged.

The justices said Camacho failed to request a presentence investigation report, which compiles information relevant to the particular circumstances of a defendant and is helpful in imposing individualized sentences.

In 2012, the Office of the Attorney General charged Borja with sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree, indecent exposure in the first degree, and two counts of disturbing the peace. The charges carry a total maximum sentence of 36 years in prison.

In 2013, Borja pleaded guilty to sex abuse of a minor in the second degree as part of a plea deal. That carries a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment. Camacho sentenced him to 10 years in prison.

Borja appealed to the CNMI Supreme Court.

At the resentencing hearing at the Tinian courthouse on Friday, assistant attorney general Jonathan Glass Jr. recommended a seven-year prison term.

Assistant public defender Nancy Dominski, counsel for Borja, recommended a sentence of 10 years imprisonment with five years suspended.

Borja submitted his written statement and letter of apology to the victim.

In his order, Camacho said the 10-year sentence is appropriate as it will be a specific deterrence as Borja will learn from his crime and not commit other similar crimes.

The sentence, Camacho said, is appropriate as it touches upon some of the goals of sentencing: Retribution and incapacitation.

Camacho said it reaffirms to the community that child predators that sexually abuse very young children will be punished.

Camacho said that Borja’s actions require that he be removed to safeguard the community.

The judge noted that Borja has a criminal history (juvenile cases) as well as 32 documented disciplinary/adverse actions, which include physical/verbal assaults, stealing, repeated disruptive behavior, abusive lewd indecent obscene acts and others.

Camacho said Borja is not a candidate for rehabilitation.

During interview with police officers, the then 12-year-old girl confessed that Borja started touching her private parts when she was 6 years old.

The victim admitted that Borja had sex with her monthly since she was 10 years old. A staff at Tinian Health Center stated in her report that physical examination showed evidence of vaginal penetration.

Jail term increased for paedophile who
admits further offences
Jenny Loweth

A FORMER church bus driver had his prison sentence for sexually abusing young girls increased to 13 years at Bradford Crown Court after admitting five further similar offences.

Tony Mitchell was jailed for 11 years in October 2015 for raping a child of 11 and molesting five more girls, aged between seven and 13.

Mitchell, 47, formerly of Idlethorp Way, Thorpe Edge, Bradford, was brought back to court from prison to have his jail term increased by two years.

He pleaded guilty to inciting two little girls to touch one another indecently, inciting a child to touch him indecently and two offences of sexually assaulting a girl under 13.

Prosecutor Stephen Wood said Mitchell's victims were aged six or seven at the time.

Mitchell sat in the dock weeping, with his head buried in his hands, as Mr Wood read out victim impact statements from the two children.

One said he was a bad man who should go to jail while the second said he had made her feel devastated and angry.

The court heard Mitchell was regretful and remorseful.

His mother was gravely ill and he would not be able to care for her at the end of her life.

When Mitchell was jailed for 11 years, the sentencing judge said he was guilty of "a campaign of sexual abuse" against six young girls.

He was working as a volunteer bus driver for the Church on the Way in Bradford Road, Idle, when the offences came to light. Social Services told the pastor that sexual allegations had been made against Mitchell and he stopped driving the bus.

He sought counselling at the church where he was told that if he did not go to the police, it would report him. Mitchell handed himself in and confessed to what he had done.

Jailing Mitchell for two years to run consecutively with sentence he is serving, Judge Jonathan Rose said he was guilty of "the most appalling and depraved behaviour with very small children."

Although Mitchell was genuinely remorseful, it was too late to undo the damage he had done.

But he had been frank and open with the police and admitted the offences at the earliest opportunity.

"There is much in your early life that has had a negative impact on you," Judge Rose said, after hearing that Mitchell had suffered abuse as a child.

Far too many of us have! But while it may predispose us to becoming paedophiles, it doesn't mean it is inevitable. At some point we have to choose between that predisposition and decency. Hopefully, most of us will make that choice before actually abusing a child.

He was already subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order to protect children from him in the future.

Elderly couple go on trial over catalogue of charges of historic sexual & physical abuse of children
Neil Hunter

AN elderly couple have gone on trial accused of a catalogue of physical and sexual abuse against children decades ago.

Kenneth Whiles and his wife Peggy are alleged to have used belts, a dog chain and high-heeled shoes to beat the youngsters.

A jury at Teesside Crown Court was told today that their victims were humiliated and injured in the attacks.

The couple, from Eston, near Middlesbrough, deny a total of 29 charges and face a trial likely to last two weeks.

Mr Whiles, 71, denies 24 separate offences of indecent assault, indecency with a child, cruelty and assault.

His 69-year-old wife - a wheelchair-user - has pleaded not guilty to five cruelty charges.

Prosecutor Richard Bennett said: “The prosecution say that the violence was beyond anything that could be considered lawful.

“The prosecution say it was straightforward assault and cruelty.

“Kenneth Whiles was regularly violent, and beat them with his hands and with belts. He would humiliate them, too.

“Peggy Whiles was not involved in direct sexual abuse, but the prosecution say she knew what was going on and she turned a blind eye.

“There were regular patterns of criminal behaviour carried out by both defendants.”

Mr Bennett told the jury of eight men and four women that complaints were made by some of the victims years ago, but “for various reasons” no criminal prosecution was brought at the time.

Worries had also been raised by a teacher who was told that one of the victims was being abused.

An investigation was relaunched several years ago after one of the accusers rang police to say he was going to the couple’s home to kill for what they had done, and he was arrested.

Mr Bennett said the couple, of Durham Road, Eston, denied the allegations when they were questioned.

Calgary man charged with sex offences after incident at northwest dayhome
Cynthia Roebuck, Anchor/Reporter @CTV

Police have laid charges against a Calgary man in relation to an incident at a northwest dayhome involving a three-year-old girl.

In February, the child told her parents that she had been inappropriately touched by a man while at her dayhome in the community of Citadel.

Gary Francis Hachey, 51, is charged with sexual interference and sexual assault. Police say he lives in the home but is not the primary caregiver, and is alleged to have had sexual contact with the girl while they were alone.

"The primary operator would have been the wife, he was the husband of the wife and worked within the dayhome to provide services," said Staff Sgt. Dominic Mayhew, CPS Child Abuse Unit. "It was operating under the name of Jane's Dayhome and to our knowledge it's been operating for approximately 10 years."

Police have been contacting current and former clients of the dayhome but at this point have not identified any other victims.

Hachey will next appear in court on August 4.

Parents, please don't put your children in a daycare where a man is present! Motivations for men to be at daycares should always be of concern. If they are there, they must be watched like a hawk and forbidden from taking children to the bathroom or otherwise being alone with them.

Former music mogul Jonathan King appears in court over Walton Hop child sex abuse claims

King faces three charges of buggery and 15 of indecent assault
BY DAVID WILCOCK

Former music mogul Jonathan King has appeared in court accused of a string of sex attacks on underage boys in relation to the Walton Hop disco in the 1970s and 80s.

The ex-singer and Genesis producer is accused of assaults on nine teenagers aged between 14 and 16, between 1970 and 1986, Westminster Magistrates' Court was told.

Dressed in a smart dark suit, white shirt and trainers, King, 72, smiled in the dock as he spoke only to confirm his personal details.

He appeared in court for the short hearing under his real name of Kenneth George King.

He faces three charges of buggery and 15 of indecent assault.

His lawyer, Steven Bird, said he "will be contesting the allegations".

King, of Bayswater, central London, was released on conditional bail to appear at Southwark Crown Court on July 24.

His bail conditions were not to contact any of the complainants or to name them in the media or on social media.

King was charged by Surrey Police last month in connection with offences as part of Operation Ravine - the force's investigation into alleged sexual offences connected to the Walton Hop Disco, a teenage disco which ran from 1958 until 2001.

Former ‘Irish Times’ sports journalist  pleaded guilty to six counts of child sex abuse

Tom Humphries faces up to 10 years in jail for abusing girl
Conor Gallagher

Former Irish Times sports journalist Tom Humphries faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced shortly for grooming and engaging in sexual acts with a child.

In Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on Monday, Judge Karen O’Connor said she hoped to conduct the sentencing hearing on July 26th, just before the court breaks for the summer recess.

However, she said the matter might not be heard on that date because other cases had priority on the list. The sentencing hearing will take half a day.

Humphries (54), from Sutton, north Dublin, pleaded guilty to the offences in March but could not be named publicly on that date because he was facing trial for further sexual offences.

Prosecuting counsel Shane Costelloe SC told Judge O’Connor the State was entering a nolle prosequi on the three further charges relating to a separate girl, meaning the charges were not being proceeded with.

Humphries, who was present in court for yesterday’s short hearing, was released on continuing bail pending sentencing.

He pleaded guilty on the morning of his trial last March to six counts of abuse of a girl under the age of 17.

Text messages

The court will hear that Humphries groomed the girl over a lengthy period of time by exchanging over 10,000 text messages with her. Many of these messages were sent in the early hours of the morning and some contained video files.

At some stage during the grooming process Humphries began engaging in sexual acts with the girl who was in her young teens at the time.

The charges comprise two counts of defilement of a child in Dublin between December 5th, 2010, and February 19th, 2011, and four counts of inviting a child to participate in a sexually explicit, obscene or indecent act between January 2010 and March 2011.

Defilement is defined in Irish law as engaging in a sexual act with a child under the age of 17. It normally carries a maximum sentence of five years but this rises to 10 years if the offender is a “person in authority”.

Sexual exploitation of a child is defined in law as, among other things, inviting, inducing or coercing the child to participate in or observe “any activity of a sexual or indecent nature”.

Humphries’s defence counsel Hugh Hartnett SC requested his client be excused from further case management dates for health reasons. The judge refused the application following an objection from the prosecution.

It is understood Humphries’s defence team will make several submissions on the condition of his health before sentence is imposed.

Pervert jailed after trying to take 'child' sex doll through East Midlands Airport
By Burton Mail

A pervert is today behind bars after trying to import a sex doll that looked like a little girl through East Midlands Airport. Andrew Dobson was jailed for two years and eight months after his actions were labelled as "disgusting" when he was caught with the doll at the Cast Donington airport. This was one of the first cases such as this in the UK to go before a court.

Chester Crown Court was told that the 49-year-old had bought the disturbing child-like mannequin from Hong Kong so he could satisfy his own twisted urges. However, the court heard how, in September last year, border force officials at East Midlands Airport intercepted the package addressed to Dobson to discover the obscene child-sized doll with instructions for its use and care.

Dobson, of Merrivale Road, Wistaston, near Crewe, was arrested at his home and, following a search, child abuse photographs were found on his computer. In his interview, Dobson admitted buying the doll to use for sex and downloading the sickening images and movies online.

Prosecutor Peter Hussey said a forensic physician and paediatric consultant examined the doll and suggested its size would be consistent with a child of between four and six years old.

Cambridge man Leslie Foxtees, 78, charged for football-related historic sex offence

Foxtees, of Thorleye Road, Cambridge, has been charged with gross indecency with a boy under the age of 14 between July 1, 1969, and June 30, 1970
BY RAYMOND BROWN

A 78-year-old man has been charged as part of the force’s investigation into non-recent allegations related to football in Cambridgeshire.

Leslie Foxtees, of Thorleye Road, Cambridge, has been charged with gross indecency with a boy under the age of 14 between July 1, 1969, and June 30, 1970.

He is due to appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (June 27).

Police in Cambridgeshire were inundated with allegations of historical child sex abuse last year (2016). Officers said there have been “multiple” allegations and confirmed the clubs involved included Cambridge United and Peterborough United.

Cambridge United Football Club confirmed it has been contacted by police over the wider investigation. More than 30 alleged victims of child sex abuse connected to football in Cambridgeshire had come forward by January this year (2017).

Funded by the FA, the NSPCC hotline was set up in early December and is available 24 hours a day on 0800 023 2642.

The FA also instigated an independent review, led by Clive Sheldon QC, into its handling of abuse allegations in the years prior to 2005.

Anyone with concerns about the allegations are encouraged to contact police on 101 or the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.

Former Rugby man jailed for 11 years over babysitter sexual abuse

Steven Hewitt, who lived at various addresses in Rugby, had denied three charges of sexual assault, seven of assault by penetration and two of voyeurism. But he had been found guilty of all 12 charges following a trial at Warwick Crown Court in March, after which the case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared on him.

At the resumed hearing Hewitt, 33, who had been living at an address in Kingston-upon-Hull prior to the trial, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life. Jailing Hewitt, who repeatedly shook his head in denial as she outlined his offences, Judge Sylvia de Bertodano told him: “She trusted you and your family, and you chose to take advantage of the fact that she trusted you to regularly sexually abuse her.

“She speaks of the effect this has had on her. She speaks of broken trust in people and difficulty in having relationships. “It won’t be put at an end by whatever happens today, because nothing I do can bring back the childhood she has lost, but I hope this will bring some kind of closure for her. And as a result of what you did, you have wrecked your family life. You have lost your wife and the children you love, and you find yourself virtually alone in the world.”

Judge de Bertodano also imposed a restraining order banning Hewitt from contacting his victim in any way, directly or indirectly, for life.

During the trial the jury heard the offences came to light when Hewitt’s victim, now in her 20s, went to the police last year to complain about the abuse she had suffered as a child. Prosecutor Mark Knowles explained it began when the girl had babysat for Hewitt and his wife when she was 14. The offences started with an incident when Hewitt had fondled her breast, and then ranged from touching and licking her breasts to doing so more intimately and penetrating her with his fingers.

He also left his iPhone in the bathroom, hoping to capture her in a state of undress while she was there. His victim spoke of occasions when, while his wife was upstairs, Hewitt had pinned her on the sofa and forced his hands inside her pants to touch her. She would try to push him off, but he would carry on, putting his arm round her mouth so she could not cry out.

The girl did not go to the police at the time because she did not want to upset Hewitt’s wife, who she got on with, but she did confide in a close friend at school. And in 2015 she went to see Hewitt’s wife and told her what had gone on. At first his wife did not seem to accept it, but after she challenged him and he admitted some of what had happened but claimed it had been consensual, she told him to leave their home.

Mr Knowles told the jury: “He contacted a psychological therapy unit and spoke to staff. He said he was in his car and thinking of killing himself.” In his phone call, Hewitt confided: “I’m a paedophile. I feel guilty for what I’ve done. I know it’s wrong. They didn’t want me to, but I couldn’t stop my behaviour.”

"They didn’t want me to", pretty much implies that there were others, yet no mention is made of them.

He called again, saying he knew the police were looking for him, and again repeated that he had been touching someone who did not want to be touched and had told him to get off. In fact his victim had not contacted the police at that stage, but when she did so early last year Hewitt was arrested after being stopped in his car.

But Hewitt claimed that although he had touched the girl, it had been when she was older, and that she had not objected – which was rejected by the jury. Sally Hancox, defending, said: “He had lived an all-but law-abiding life before this. He acknowledges his wrong-doing will take him away from his own family for many years, and that he will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his days.”
