Southport massacre lunatic gets Life in prison - Is he demonic?

Teen who killed 3 girls at Taylor Swift dance class sentenced to over 50 years

A teenager who stabbed three young girls to death at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in England was sentenced Thursday to more than 50 years in prison for what a judge called “the most extreme, shocking and exceptionally serious crime.”

Judge Julian Goose said 18-year-old Axel Rudakubana “wanted to try and carry out mass murder of innocent, happy young girls.”

Goose said that he couldn’t impose a sentence of life without parole, because Rudakubana was under 18 when he committed the crime.

But the judge said he must serve 52 years, minus the six months he’s been in custody, before being considered for parole, and “it is likely he will never be released.”

Rudakubana was 17 when he attacked the children in the seaside town of Southport in July, killing Alice Da Silva Aguiar, 9, Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7, and Bebe King, 6. He wounded eight other girls, ranging in age from 7 to 13, along with teacher Leanne Lucas and John Hayes, a local businessman who intervened.

The attack shocked the country and set off both street violence and soul-searching. The government has announced a public inquiry into how the system failed to stop the killer, who had been referred to the authorities multiple times over his obsession with violence.

Defendant disrupts the hearing

Rudakubana faced three counts of murder, 10 of attempted murder and additional charges of possessing a knife, the poison ricin and an al-Qaeda manual. He unexpectedly changed his plea to guilty on all charges on Monday.

But he wasn’t in court to hear sentence passed on Thursday.

Hours earlier he had been led into the dock at Liverpool Crown Court in northwest England, dressed in a grey prison tracksuit. But as prosecutors began outlining the evidence, Rudakubana interrupted by shouting that he felt ill and wanted to see a paramedic.

Goose ordered the accused to be removed when he continued shouting. A person in the courtroom shouted “Coward!” as Rudakubana was taken out.

The hearing continued without him.

Horror on a summer day

Prosecutor Deanna Heer described how the attack occurred on the first day of summer vacation when 26 little girls were “gathered around the tables making bracelets and singing along to Taylor Swift songs.”

Rudakubana, armed with a large knife, intruded and began stabbing the girls and their teacher.

The court was shown video of the suspect arriving at the Hart Space venue in a taxi and entering the building. Within seconds, screams erupted and children ran outside in panic, some of them wounded. One girl made it to the doorway, but was pulled back inside by the attacker. She was stabbed 32 times but survived.

Gasps and sobs could be heard in court as the videos played.

Heer said two of the dead children “suffered particularly horrific injuries which are difficult to explain as anything other than sadistic in nature.” One of the dead girls had 122 injuries, while another suffered 85 wounds.

A teenager obsessed with violence

The prosecutor said Rudakubana had “a longstanding obsession with violence, killing, genocide.

“His only purpose was to kill. And he targeted the youngest and most vulnerable in society,” she said, as relatives of the victims watched on in the courtroom.

Heer said that when he was taken to a police station, Rudakubana was heard to say: “It’s a good thing those children are dead, I’m so glad, I’m so happy.”

The killings triggered days of anti-immigrant violence across the country after far-right activists seized on incorrect reports that the attacker was an asylum-seeker who had recently arrived in the U.K. Some suggested the crime was a jihadi attack, and alleged that police and the government were withholding information.

Rudakubana was born in Cardiff, Wales, to Christian parents from Rwanda, and investigators haven’t been able to pin down his motivation. Police found documents about subjects including Nazi Germany, the Rwandan genocide and car bombs on his devices.

To me, little girls are the epitome of innocence. Abusers of little girls hate innocence because it reflects the character of God, and they hate God. Rudakubana's parents failed him miserably, although it is hard to see how anyone could emerge from Rwanda mentally healthy. His actions, his character, and his eyes display a demonic presence that is very powerful. Nazis, child rapists, child porn viewers, and radicalized Muslims, all have this presence in common with Rudakubana.

In the years before the attack, he had been reported to multiple authorities over his violent interests and actions. All of the agencies failed to spot the danger he posed.

In 2019, he phoned a children’s advice line to ask “What should I do if I want to kill somebody?” He said he had taken a knife to school because he wanted to kill someone who was bullying him. Two months later, he attacked a fellow student with a hockey stick and was convicted of assault.

The definition of terrorism

Prosecutors said Rudakubana was referred three times to the government’s anti-extremism program, Prevent, when he was 13 and 14 — once after researching school shootings in class, then for uploading pictures of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi to Instagram and for researching a London terror attack.

But they concluded his crimes should not be classed as terrorism because Rudakubana had no discernible political or religious cause. Heer said “his purpose was the commission of mass murder, not for a particular end, but as an end in itself.”

Prime Minister Keir Starmer said this week the country must face up to a “new threat” from violent individuals whose mix of motivations test the traditional definition of terrorism.

“After one of the most harrowing moments in our country’s history, we owe it to these innocent young girls and all those affected to deliver the change that they deserve,” Starmer said after the sentencing.

Wrenching testimony from victims

Several relatives and survivors read emotional statements in court, describing how the attack had shattered their lives.

Lucas, 36, who ran the dance class, said that “the trauma of being both a victim and a witness has been horrendous.”

“I cannot give myself compassion or accept praise, as how can I live knowing I survived when children died?” she said.

A 14-year-old survivor, who can’t be named because of a court order, said that while she was physically recovering. “We will all have to live with the mental pain from that day forever.”

“I hope you spend the rest of your life knowing that we think you’re a coward,” she said.

The prosecutor read out a statement from the parents of Alice Da Silva Aguiar, who said their daughter’s killing had “shattered our souls.”

“We used to cook for three. Now we only cook for two. It doesn’t seem right,” they said. “Alice was our purpose for living, so what do we do now?”

Boy Missing for 6 years finally found in the Pyrenees; 20+ Years in Prison mother found innocent of murdering her 4 children

French authorities find British boy who

went missing in Spain in 2017

French authorities on Thursday said an adolescent from Britain who disappeared six years ago in Spain has been found in a mountain region close to Toulouse in southern France.

The identity of the boy - referred to as Alex Batty, originally from Greater Manchester - has been confirmed by the family, the local prosecution office told Reuters.

"He should soon be returning to England," a spokesperson from the Toulouse public prosecution office said, adding that the criminal investigation into Batty's disappearance is being lead by British authorities.

According to French media reports, Batty - then 11 years old - had disappeared during a trip with his mother and grandfather to Malaga, Spain, in 2017.

French paper La Depeche reported Batty recently stayed with a spiritual community in the Ariege departement in the Pyrenees mountains, known for being a destination for escapists from across Europe in pursuit of an alternative way of life.

Citing no sources, the paper said Batty appeared to have tried to flee from the community, adding: 'Motorists who crossed his path eventually found his behaviour unusual, and alerted the emergency services.'

Australian woman acquitted in deaths

Dec. 14 (UPI) -- An Australian woman had her convictions for murdering three of her children and the manslaughter of the fourth quashed on appeal Thursday, six months on from being freed after spending more than 20 years in prison.

New scientific evidence not available at the time of Kathleen Folbigg's 2003 trial and the use of diary entries as admissions of guilt made the convictions unsafe, the New South Wales Supreme Court ruled.

"While verdicts at trial were reasonable upon on the evidence then available, there is now reasonable doubt as to Ms. Folbigg's guilt which warrants each of the convictions being quashed and verdicts of acquittal being entered," the Criminal Appeals division of the court said.

The quashing of Folbigg's convictions came after the 56-year-old was freed in June after a special commission of inquiry threw serious doubt on her convictions for the murders of Patrick, Sarah and Laura and the manslaughter of Caleb.

The Inquiry's report found a "reasonable possibility" that the children died of natural causes due to a rare genetic condition, known as CALM2-G114R, and that the diary entries were not confessions, but those of a grieving mother blaming herself.

As she walked from court, Folbigg said she welcomed the verdict but attacked the legal system for ignoring and dismissing evidence of her innocence for decades.

"The system preferred to blame me rather than accept that sometimes children can and do die suddenly and unexpectedly and heartbreakingly," Folbigg said.

Folbigg added she was "grateful that updated science and genetics has given me answers as to how my children died" but added "legal answers to prove my innocence" were available even when she was convicted.

"[Prosecutors] took my words out of context and turned them against me. I hope that no one else will ever have to suffer what I suffered," she said.

A mother grieving for the loss of her children gets kicked while she is down. How do you ever recover from that?

The children were aged between 19 days and 18 months when they died suddenly and inexplicably between 1989 and 1999.

Folbigg was jailed for 40 years in a 2003 trial in which prosecutors argued she had smothered the children, using circumstantial evidence from her diaries to portray her as an unstable mother, predisposed to explosive outbursts of rage.

Wouldn't you be if your children were dead or dying and no-one was helping you?

She managed to get her sentence cut to 30 years on appeal in 2005, but she spent almost another two decades battling, unsuccessfully, to clear her name.

Her legal team confirmed it would seek recompense from the state government for wrongful conviction with lead lawyer Rhanee Rego saying the claim would be "bigger than any substantial payment that has been made before".

Only a record sum would suffice, said NSW University Law School Prof. Gary Edmond who slammed the Supreme Court for failing to apologize to Folbigg and offering any accountability.

"What would rival it? People are suing others for millions of dollars for damage to their reputations as we speak. This woman's been in prison for decades. It's incommensurable.

Egyptian Man Charged with Raping 20-Month-Old Girl to Face Trial

© Jorge Silva / Reuters

An Egyptian man accused of raping a 20-month-old girl will soon face trial over the charges, according to local media. Prosecutors say the defendant has confessed to the crime.

The man was arrested on Friday after allegedly kidnapping the baby girl on the same day as she played in front of her house in Belqas village, located in the Nile Delta governorate of Daqahliya, Ahram Online reported.

The 35-year-old then took her to a secluded area and raped her, according to investigations conducted by the prosecution. He later fled the scene, leaving her in a pool of her own blood, according to Egypt’s Youm7 newspaper.

The toddler was later found by residents and taken to a nearby hospital where she received emergency surgery for vaginal bleeding. She suffered heavy blood loss, Al Arabiya reported, citing local media.

She was later released from hospital.

The Egyptian prosecution referred the man for trial on Monday evening, according to Ahram Online. However, Al Arabiya said the prosecution has merely ordered a four-day detention for the man, pending further investigation.

The man has reportedly confessed to the crime, according to the prosecution.

Egypt's National Council for Women, Daqahliya branch, issued a statement demanding the maximum penalty for the defendant on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the girl's mother has expressed sorrow following the tragic incident.

"My daughter can’t utter the words mama and papa yet, and all of this has happened to her. My heart is burning and there’s nothing I can do for her,” she said, as quoted by Egypt Independent.

The child's grandfather said that "execution is not even enough" for the defendant.

“I don’t know how a 35-year-old person can do this to a child who is a year and eight months old, who cannot even speak yet and still wears diapers," he said.

The incident has also angered the local community, with Al-Ahram news website reporting that residents of the village had attempted to burn the defendant's house down. Many on social media have demanded nothing less than execution for the man.

The National Council for Women is set to hold a meeting to discuss providing aid to the child and her family.

How do you even begin to help a 20-month old child recover from such trauma? Please pray for her.

Child sexual abuse investigation
lands three in jail

Trey Cartwright, Frederick Lougheed, Stephanie Parker-Lougheed

By Erin Zeller and Taina Maya

MCLENNAN COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) A child's outcry of sexual assault leads to a months-long investigation and several arrests.

The Waco Police Crimes Against Children unit and Robinson police with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals served search warrants on two different homes at the same time Thursday.

Trey Cartwright was arrested for continuous sexual assault of a child Thursday at a home in Ross. Detectives said the victim was abused for four years. Cartwright remains in jail on a $250,000 bond and additional charges are expected.

At the same time, another team went to a home in Robinson to execute a search warrant in connection to the original case. There, they arrested Frederick Lougheed for five counts of sexual assault of a child. During the search detectives learned of several other possible victims, and additional charges are expected. They have identified at least two victims. Lougheed is being held on $1.25 million bond.

While searching Lougheed's home they arrested his wife, Stephanie Parker- Loughheed, a teacher at Lake Air Montessori in Waco ISD, for endangerment of a child while being under the influence of methamphetamine, police said. Investigators also recovered drugs at the home. The couple's children are in the care of family protective services. Parker-Lougheed was not listed in the McLennan county jail on Friday morning.

News 10 has been told by detectives that there was no connection to theses arrests and Waco ISD. The district's Director of Communications Bruce Gietzen confirmed Parker-Lougheed is currently on paid leave pending the investigation. He said a long term substitute has been placed in her position. She taught 4th,5th, and 6th grade at the magnet school.

Detectives say Cartwright could have additional charges related to trafficking in the coming days.

CASA-NH Named as 3rd Defendant in Child Sex Abuse Lawsuit Against DCYF, Easter Seals

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire — Attorneys filed a motion to add a third defendant to a civil lawsuit alleging negligence against several state organizations that reportedly led to the sexual abuse of two young children, referred to as N.B. and J.B.

Lawyers representing the young children’s grandparents have requested to make an amendment to their initial complaint by adding Court Appointed Special Advocates of New Hampshire, Inc. (CASA-NH) as a defendant. The New Hampshire Division for Children, Youth and Families and Easter Seals New Hampshire, Inc. have already been named as defendants in the suit.

The motion states that CASA-NH was negligent because it failed to exercise a duty of reasonable care owed to the children to prevent them from unreasonable and foreseeable risks of harm.

“Despite and in breach of the aforesaid duties, CASA-NH’s actions, by and through its employees and agents, were negligent and breached minimum standards of care when it knew of allegations concerning behavior of N.B. and J.B.’s biological parents, child sexual abuse and deviancy relating to both N.B. and J.B. and other children, and not only failed to investigate these allegations but also specifically exposed N.B. and J.B. to foreseeable harm, when it failed to ensure that the supervised visits were in fact supervised, and as such, it permitted those visits to be partially unsupervised, and thereafter when it relaxed the full-time supervisory requirement in the face of a credible and foreseeable threat to N.B. and J.B.'s safety, to allow for unsupervised time during supervised visits,” the motion states.

Lynn Liptay was specifically named as the agent acting on behalf of CASA-NH. The motion alleges that Liptay "took no action to prevent the partially unsupervised visits from taking place, during which N.B. and J.B. were both sexually abused by their biological parents on multiple occasions."

CASA-NH was unable to comment on the lawsuit because they have not yet received a copy of the complaint.

DeKalb man faces life in prison in child sexual abuse case
By BRETT ROWLAND

SYCAMORE, Illinois – A DeKalb man faces charges of predatory criminal sexual assault involving two children after an investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Carlos A. Botello, 25, of 825 W. Taylor St., No. 901, DeKalb, was charged with four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, nine counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child and unlawful restraint. If convicted of counts involving two separate victims, he would face a mandatory life sentence.

The sheriff’s office started investigating Botello on Dec. 30 after learning of allegations of sexual contact between Botello and two children younger than 13, according to a news release.

Botello is accused of inappropriate contact with the children on multiple occasions between October 2016 and Dec. 24, 2016, according to court records and the news release.

Police arrested Botello on Tuesday.

At a hearing Wednesday, Chief Judge Robbin Stuckert set Botello’s bond at $500,000.

Prosecutors had asked that bond be set at $2 million. First Assistant State’s Attorney Stephanie Klein said the children “were not strangers” to Botello.

Botello, who works at IHOP, said he plans to hire an attorney, but was represented at the hearing by DeKalb County Public Defender Tom McCulloch.

Botello is next due in court Jan. 17. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 3.

Oklahoma man sentenced to 67 years for ‘absolute worst’ child sexual abuse case

ROGERS COUNTY, Okla. – An Oklahoma man was sentenced to 67 years in prison following what the prosecutor said was the “worst case of child sexual abuse she’s ever seen.”

Actually, this KFOR report is in error. He was sentenced to 37 years, plus 20 and 10, which run concurrently with the 37.

In 2015, federal agents arrested Kenneth Batten during part of a nationwide mission called “Operation Predator,” according to FOX 23.

The Tulsa World reports that Batten went by “incestlover12” online, and would distribute child pornography using the KIK app.

KJRH reports that Batten admitted to authorities that he had downloaded child pornography, produced and distributed child pornography of an infant family member and raped the child with an object.

Court records indicate that Batten sexually assaulted a 1-year-old girl several times.

The prosecutor says the pornography that Batten produced was the “absolute worst” that she has had to watch.

He eventually pleaded guilty to charges of rape by instrumentation, possession of juvenile pornography, soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology and eight counts of child sexual abuse.

Batten was sentenced to 37 years for nine counts of rape and sexual abuse in the assault of a family member..

He was sentenced to 20 years for manufacturing and distributing child pornography and 10 years for soliciting sexual conduct through use of technology.

Officials say the sentences will run concurrently.

In 2016, Batten was sentenced to 25 years on a related case involving the sexual exploitation of a child.

So, I'm assuming the 37 years runs consecutively with the 25 years, or am I just wishfully thinking? I hate concurrent sentences. It means the manufacturing, distribution and soliciting cost him nothing.

Rogers Co., OK
