Miami man arrested in 2 previous child sex battery cases facing new charges: cops
A Miami man already arrested for the alleged sexual battery of an 8-year-old and an infant and for possession of child sexual abuse material is now facing charges related to lewd conduct with a 4-year-old child, police said.
On Sept. 22, he was charged with 15 counts of possession of images showing a sexual performance by a child, and one count of possessing images showing a person engaged in sexual conduct with animals, Miami Police officials said.
More than 100 images involving young children were found, along with bestiality images, an arrest report said.
In October, he was charged in the alleged sexual battery of a 2-month-old child, police said.
In a statement Friday, police said Pittman is facing six additional charges including lewd and lascivious conduct on a child and promoting the sexual performance of a child.
According to an arrest report, the new charges involve the abuse of a 4-year-old, after lewd pictures of the child lying on a bed in Pittman’s room were found on his phone.
The child’s mother told investigators she would often visit Pittman’s mother and would even stay at the home overnight, the report said.
Pittman has been held without bond since his arrest on May 28.
“The safety and well-being of our children remain our highest priority. Crimes against minors are among the most heinous offenses, and we will continue to dedicate every resource to ensure those responsible are brought to justice,” Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales said in a statement Friday. “I commend the tireless efforts of our Special Victims Unit detectives, who work relentlessly to identify victims, locate offenders, and protect the most vulnerable members of our community.”
South Carolina girl, 14, 'sexually abused by stepdad for years while mom knew'
Andrew Joseph Martin is accused of sexually abusing his 14-year-old stepdaughter for years while the girl's mother, Danielle Norris, allegedly 'had full knowledge'
A South Carolina man has been accused of sexually abusing his 14-year-old stepdaughter for years while her mother allegedly "had full knowledge."
Andrew Joseph Martin, 38, has been charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor. The victim's mother, Misty Danielle Norris, 35, faces charges of accessory and unlawful neglect of a child. An investigation into the couple was launched after deputies were called to a home in Belton on January 2, where they found “a young girl asking for help from law enforcement.”
It's unclear why officers were dispatched to the home. "Evidence shows Martin sexually abused the girl for years and pressured her to keep quiet about the disturbing sexual abuse," The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement posted online.

The victim's mother allegedly "admitted she knew about the vulgar acts between Martin and the victim," the statement added. Deputies are still investigating the case, conducting interviews and collecting more evidence.
The Sheriff's Office said that more charges are pending for Martin. They did not provide any details about the additional charges. Martin is currently in custody in neighboring Oconee County.
The case comes as two significant reports released last month by the National Police Chiefs' Council highlight the alarming level of child sexual abuse and warn that much of it remains "largely unseen by the public".
There was a 6% rise in Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation crimes in 12 months, reaching 122,768 in 2024, along with a spike in online exploitation, which now makes up 42% of all such crimes (51,672).
Half of the alleged perpetrators were under 18, and 78% of victims were female while 82% of suspects were male. According to the data, the most common social media platforms recorded by police are now Snapchat (54%), followed by WhatsApp (8%) and Instagram (8%).
Acting Chief Constable Becky Riggs, NPCC Lead for Child Protection and Abuse Investigation, said the reports "highlight the full spectrum of threats-many of which remain largely unseen by the public."
"They challenge us to ask: are we addressing all areas of risk, not just those that attract political and media attention? And what must we do differently to ensure every child is protected, particularly as offenders exploit online platforms and emerging technologies at unprecedented speed?" she continued.
