Attorney General Labrador’s office arrests school bus driver for alleged exploitation of child
BOISE — Attorney General Raúl Labrador has announced that investigators with his Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit arrested 42-year-old Jeremey Wakeley on Wednesday on four counts of possession of child sexual exploitation material and one count of distribution of child sexual exploitation material.
At the time of his arrest, Wakeley was employed as a bus driver with a company that contracts with local schools.
"Yesterday, my ICAC Unit arrested a man who worked as a local school bus driver in the Treasure Valley," said Attorney General Labrador. “We've found no evidence of any local victims at this time, but parents deserve to know that my team is working overtime to protect Idaho's children. I want to thank our law enforcement partners for their help with this arrest."
The ICAC Unit was assisted by the Caldwell Police Department, Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, Nampa Police Department, Meridian Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations.
At this time, investigators have found no evidence of any local victims. Anyone with information regarding the exploitation of children is encouraged to contact local police, the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit at 208-947-8700, or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.
The Attorney General’s ICAC Unit works with the Idaho ICAC Task Force, a coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, to investigate and prosecute individuals who use the internet to criminally exploit children.
Parents, educators, and law enforcement officials can find more information and helpful resources at the ICAC website, ICACIdaho.org.
The charges listed above are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
Marion County man pleads guilty in 20-year-old case of child sexual assault

(KATU, file)topics:
A Marion County man pleaded guilty to multiple child sex crimes on Friday and was sentenced to nearly 30 years in prison.
The county's district attorney's office announced the 28.75-year sentence for 54-year-old Richard A. Clinger on Friday.
Mt. Angel police led the investigation into Clinger, who admitted to assaulting a family member who was, at the time, under the age of 10. The acts took place between June 2006 and Sept. 2008, according to court documents.
"The investigation began in 2024, when the now-adult victim contacted law enforcement," the district attorney's office said in a news release.
After the sentencing, an attorney representing Clinger filed a memorandum asking for a reevaluation of the nearly 30-year sentence. Attorney Brendan Hicks asked the court to reduce it down to 16 years and three months, "with the goal that he does not die in prison.
"While heinous, his present offenses do not rise to the level contemplated by the legislature that requires life imprisonment, or the death penalty. Accordingly, Defense Requests that the court consider these factors in Sentencing Mr. Clinger," Hicks wrote.
