60 Arrested in 12 Countries for Child Sex Abuse & Child Porn, 4 Girls Rescued

Child sex abuse: Dozens held in raids in Americas and Spain

Officials in Mexico say 60 people have been arrested in the US, Latin America and Spain over alleged links to a ring circulating images of child sex abuse.

The Mexican government said almost 100 raids had been carried out in 12 countries.

Three girls aged between nine and 15 were rescued in Mexico, a government commission said in a statement.

Computers were seized that were allegedly used to post indecent videos on the internet.

The Mexican National Security Commission said searches were carried out in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Spain, the United States, Uruguay and Venezuela.

"Operation Without Borders" was aimed at "breaking various structures dedicated to the distribution of pornographic material of children via the internet", the commission said in a statement.

A fourth girl was rescued as part of the operation but the commission did not specify in which country.

The raids come two months after Spanish police arrested more than 80 people in raids targeting images of child sex abuse.

Eighty-one people arrested in child pornography crackdown twitter.com/policia
Spanish police have detained 81 people, including two children, in a child pornography crackdown across the country on Saturday 17 October. Police said that two minors and two people with mental disabilities were also arrested.

More than 300 police were involved in the country-wide raid across 28 provinces. Police also seized computers and cameras at the suspects' residences.

The investigation was led by "cyberpatrols" who uncovered dozens of people online exchanging the illicit material, at times using peer-to-peer networks. While most of the images shared were of children being abused, some featured images of sadism and bestiality.

Of course, because child sex abuse isn't sick enough for some perverts.

"The agents are continuing to analyze the material seized to determine if there had been crimes of producing child pornography, sexual abuse of minors or connection with pedophiles," Spanish police said in a statement. Police also said, "some of the images seized by police are extremely harsh and show sadism and bestiality".

More than 300 police officers and technological investigators took part in the crackdown across 28 provinces. In total, 80 homes were searched, with police confiscating 96 hard drives, 58 computers, 68 flash drives, four tablets, 195 CDs and DVDs, 18 mobile phones, 25 memory cards, among other pieces of electronics, according to the CNN.

The arrests were the culmination of a year-long investigation to identify internet users that shared graphic images of child pornography using peer-to-peer networks. Police expect to make more arrests in the probes.

Spanish police have previously detained more than 120 people in 2008 in a single operation against child pornography.

The Great Belgium Pedophile/Torture/Murder Scandal and Its Cover-up

275,000 in Belgium Protest Handling of Child Sex Scandal - Oct 19, 1996

Yesterday, I posted an article called Rape, Torture, Murder, Trafficking from Home on Little Island of Jersey. In it, the name Marc Dutroux came up a few times in very unfavourable terms.

Below is a New York Times piece from 1996 which sheds a little more light on Marc Dutroux and the VIP pedophile/murder network he fronted; as well as the maneuvers by the Belgian government to stop the inquiry into it before high government names could be revealed.

BRUSSELS, Oct. 20, 1996 — Tens of thousands of Belgians gathered in the heart of Brussels today, waving white balloons and white flowers in a popular outpouring of anger and frustration over a widening child sex scandal.

The ''White March,'' as it was called by organizers, was one of the largest in the country's recent history, drawing some 275,000 Belgians and supporters from neighboring countries, the police said.

It capped a week of spontaneous protests that erupted after Belgium's highest court removed a magistrate widely seen as a hero in the scandal, Jean-Marc Connerotte, from investigations into a pedophile and child pornography ring. So far, 13 people have been charged in the case, which involves the kidnapping, sexual abuse and killing of several children, with at least seven young girls still missing.

Jean-Marc Connerotte
The court ruled that Mr. Connerotte had compromised his impartiality by accepting a free dinner at a fund-raiser for the parents of missing children. Good grief!

The ruling prompted the public, already outraged by reports of the crimes and the slowness of investigators to respond, to take to the streets. The dismissal also followed press reports that Mr. Connerotte was on the verge of disclosing the names of senior government officials who had been recognized on confiscated videotapes, and during allegations of a high-level cover-up.

The march had been planned before Mr. Connerotte's dismissal last week, and gained momentum in the days following, which were marked by spontaneous protests around the country aimed increasingly at the nation's entire political and judicial class.

People from all ages and parts of the country gathered in the capital today, some wearing the white clothes and caps urged by organizers as a demonstration of hope.

Some 1,400 police officers were assigned to control the crowd, though the protesters marched peacefully, heeding calls for calm from King Albert, Prime Minister Jean-Luc Dehaene and the parents of the missing children.

''I am here to show solidarity with the parents,'' said one marcher, Gerda Zammattio, the mother of a three-year-old daughter, Naomi. ''What has happened in the last few weeks moved me greatly. The system must become more humane.''

At the march, Flemish protesters wore stickers across their foreheads saying, ''Stop the cover-up.''

Employees at the national airline, Sabena, stopped work for five minutes this morning, carrying white armbands in support of the march, and said they would do so again in the afternoon.

Marc Dutroux
The march was intended not only as a protest at what is becoming popularly perceived as an incompetent law and order system, but also as an expression of sympathy with the victims of a gang reportedly led by a convicted child rapist, Marc Dutroux, one of the 13 charged.

He was released 10 years early in 1992 from a 13-year sentence for multiple child rape. Scores of videos with child pornography were seized along with him.

Four young girls died at the hands of the gang, two after being locked in a dungeon-like cell and starved to death. Two others girls were rescued -- at the initiative of the dismissed magistrate, Mr. Connerotte, a breakthrough in the case that helped make him a national hero.

Mad Dog: The Secret World of Gaddafi - Lust for Blood, Power and Young Girls

Colonel Gaddafi was called Mad Dog by Ronald Reagan. His income from oil was a billion dollars a week. No other dictator had such sex appeal and no other so cannily combined oil and the implied threat of terror to turn Western powers into cowed appeasers.

When he went abroad - bedecked in fake medals from unfought wars - a bulletproof tent was flown ahead, along with camels that would be tethered outside. His sons lived a Dolce & Gabbana lifestyle - one kept white tigers, while another commissioned a $500 million cruise liner with a shark pool.

Col Moammar Gadaffi
Like other tyrants, Gaddafi used torture and murder to silence opposition, but what made his rule especially terrifying was that death came so casually. A man who complained that Gaddafi had an affair with his wife was allegedly tied between two cars and torn in half.

On visits to schools and orphanages Gaddafi would tap underage girls on the head to show his henchmen which ones he wanted. They would be picked up after school and taken to his palace and abused. Young boys were held in tunnels under the palace.

Gadaffi also had a bedroom in the university, and a clinic next to it so that girls could be checked for diseases and given abortions when pregnant from Gadaffi. The girls did not participate willingly.

Yet because of his vast oil lake there seemed no limit to Western generosity. British intelligence trapped one of his enemies overseas and sent him to Libya as a gift. The same week, Tony Blair arrived in Libya and a huge energy deal was announced.
A younger Gadaffi

Filmed in Cuba, the Pacific, Brazil, the US, South Africa, Libya and Australia, the cast of this documentary consists of palace insiders and those who gave shape to Gaddafi's dark dreams. They include a fugitive from the FBI who helped kill his enemies worldwide; the widow of the Libyan foreign minister whose body Gaddafi kept in a freezer; and a female bodyguard who adored him until she saw teenagers executed. Gaddafi was a dictator like no other; their stories are stranger than fiction.

Olgiati has amazing access to Gadaffi insiders who were remarkably willing to talk openly about what they did.

A Fresh One production for BBC and Showtime, Mad Dog: The Secret World of Gaddafi is directed and filmed by Christopher Olgiati. Executive Producer is Roy Ackerman.

The trial of two surviving sons and top aides of toppled Libyan dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi is scheduled to open on April 14, 2014. Sief and Saadi Gaddafi, as well as Gaddafi’s former spy chief and two premiers, are among the more than 30 officials from the ousted regime who are to stand trial on charges that include murder, kidnapping, complicity in incitement to rape, plunder, sabotage and embezzlement.

UK Home Office Says Child Porn is Getting More Vile and Sadistic

As 14 men in England have appeared in court over child abuse images, Damian Green, the Home Office minister, says evidence shows younger and younger children are being subjected to 'more sadistic' sexual abuse.

The men are not part of an organised gang, but separate individuals arrested in September after an investigation into the sexual exploitation of children, police said.

The 14 suspects are all charged with crimes relating to indecent images of children. They appeared before magistrates in Preston and were bailed to appear at the city's crown court on 17 June.

Meanwhile, from David Barrett of The Telegraph -
Damian Green, the Home Office minister

Child pornography is becoming “more extreme and violent” and the images feature increasingly young children, the policing minister has warned.

Damian Green said a new computer database, being built with government backing, will attempt to speed up the way police can investigate the online images of child abuse.

But he said the problem was “ever changing” and pointed to studies showing the kind of abuse depicted the “vile” images was plumbing new depths of depravity.

“These are vile, disgusting images. They are photographs and videos that record children being abused and raped,” said Mr Green.

“Even more disturbingly, the research shows that these images appear to be becoming more extreme, more sadistic and more violent, with a greater proportion depicting the abuse of younger children.”

Did I mention sin is progressive? I wonder if anyone has done any research to see if child pornography users 'graduate' from watching adult pornography? I have always suspected that they move toward younger and younger victims, and the minister seems to be confirming that. But how far back does it go? Let me know if you've heard of such a study, please.

He told IT experts from major companies, who were invited to a Home Office event in Westminster to begin work on the database project: “The police, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection centre (CEOP) are doing excellent work in difficult circumstances.

“But that key threat to our children is ever growing and changing so it is critical for the National Crime Agency and wider UK law enforcement to be equipped to tackle this sickening crime.”

Mr Green said that a Home Office survey carried out in 1990 estimated that just 7,000 images of child sexual abuse were in circulation - as hard copies - in this country.

“Today the growth and development of the internet means that the number of these images online is in the millions,” he said.

“And the number of individual children depicted in these images, and therefore desperately in need of our protection, is likely to be in the tens of thousands.”

He went on: “It isn’t sufficient to simply prosecute those offenders who possess such images. We have a duty, and moral obligation, to find those children who are being abused, and protect them, whether they are in the UK or abroad.

“Police forces have recorded cases where individual offenders have possessed up to 2.5 million images.” It will need “new thinking” to tackle the issue, said the minister.

The database, which Mr Green said he hoped would be operational by the end of the year, will link up existing “fragmented” police databases to create a “single secure database of illegal images of children”.

It would help speed up investigations by reducing the amount of work duplicated by different agencies and help identify victims more quickly, he added.

Couple Arrested for Horrific Sexual Abuse of their own Children

TALMADGE, CALIF. — A Mendocino County couple has been arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing at least two of their five children over a 13-year period.

Sheriff's officials say 61-year-old Donald Dunakin and 47-year-old Ina Medina of Talmadge were taken into custody Thursday night and each booked in county jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.

The suspects face multiple felony charges, including sodomy, continuous sexual abuse of a child, lewd act with a child, oral copulation of a child, penetration with a foreign object and torture.

Officials say sheriff's detectives began investigating the case on Wednesday when they were contacted by county Child Protective Services.

Officials allege the children were ages 3 to 16 when they were abused by the suspects, who have lived together in the Ukiah area for about 30 years.

Don't know how old the children are now as little has been released on this story so far. Obviously some are still children or Child Protective Services would not be involved.

Talmadge is very close to Ukiah, CA, which is about 115 miles north of San Francisco on Hwy 101.

Please pray for all 5 children, whether all were abused or not, they will all emerge with major scars from this. Their own children!!!

Just When You Thought You Had Heard It All...

Just when you thought you had heard or read the worst thing that could happen, you run into another level of human depravity that just blows your mind. I have edited out some of the more graphic details of this shocking report from Time World:

In a secure darkened room, Marie, a 36-year-old mother of six, whispers and struggles to make eye contact. A shoe trader, she regularly travels by bus to sell her wares in remote parts of the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Last year, her bus broke down on the often impassable forest road to the town of Walikale. Her bags were too heavy for her to continue by foot, so she resorted to a bicycle taxi. Bandits pulled her off the road while she waited for one to arrive. “When I saw women, I thought I was saved,” she recalls. Not so. The women were armed and dressed in military uniform. They argued with the men in the group over who would “have” Marie. The women won.

“They asked why I was here doing business while they were starving,” she remembers. “They told me I was fat, and that I’d stay with them in the forest until I become thin.” The women psychologically, sexually and physically abused Marie for four days. She was forced to imitate sexual pleasure as they assaulted her. By the fourth day she was bleeding so much that the women gave up. They wanted to kill her, but the men in the group argued with them. Finally, after nine days, the militia let her go.

Rape in conflict zones has long been the subject of news reports and academic study and large amounts of donor funding is channeled to organizations that respond to it. But rape specifically perpetrated by women has received less attention. Recent studies suggest the problem is more widespread than many experts previously believed.

In 2010, Harvard academic Lynn Lawry and a team of researchers conducted a survey of human-rights abuses in over 1,000 households in conflict-ridden eastern Congo. It was the same year that Margot Wallstrom, the U.N. special representative on sexual violence in conflict, dubbed Congo “the rape capital of the world.” Lawry’s study asked victims of sexual violence to specify their assailant’s gender. It found that 40% of the women — and 10% of the men — who said they were subjected to sexual violence were assaulted by a woman.

Some human-rights professionals, surprised at the high numbers of women perpetrators of rape in Lawry’s study, have questioned the findings. But others believe that the phenomenon has not shown up in previous studies for a simple reason: no one was looking for it. “Researchers have simply not asked about the sex of perpetrators,” writes Dara Kay Cohen, assistant professor of public policy at Harvard University, in her article “Female combatants and the perpetration of violence,” published in World Politics in July.

The subject is taboo in Congo; the victims who spoke to TIME were all sharing their stories for the first time. “That might be a contributing factor to why we don’t hear about it,” suggests a Goma-based advocate, who also asked not to be named. “By not giving space for female on female or male on male, it’s possible that we created that taboo.”

A U.N. expert on armed groups — herself a victim of rape by a man — says women are in 90% of armed groups. They are wives, nurses and cooks, but also intelligence agents, honey traps and fighters. “Their minds have altered,” says the Congolese U.N. employee, requesting anonymity because she was speaking personally and did not want people to know about her own rape. “Women who were raped for years are now raping other women.”

How can a woman rape? (They use whatever objects are handy) the U.N. employee explains. Her close friend’s daughter was violated repeatedly by a woman who wanted “to spoil her body,” she says.

Women have committed rape in previous conflicts, including during the Rwandan genocide. Rwanda’s former Minister for Family and Women Affairs, Pauline Nyiramasuhuko, is the first — and only — woman convicted by an international tribunal for being party to rape. Up to half a million women were raped during the Rwandan genocide, according to the U.N., and Nyiramasuhuko ordered women and girls to be raped.

Women reportedly committed acts of sexual violence during conflicts in Liberia, Haiti, Sierra Leone, Northern Ireland and Sri Lanka, Cohen writes. Miranda Alison, a professor at Warwick University in England, has interviewed female combatants in Northern Ireland and Sri Lanka and contends that women in these conflicts were reputedly more violent than male peers, perhaps “to compete for status and recognition in a traditionally patriarchal context.”

The attacks often leave the victims with permanent physical and psychological damage. In 2005, Valerie, who was then a 17-year-old girl, was going to farm her family’s land in Congo when she met a group of bandits on the edge of a forest stealing crops — two men, two women and a girl.

While the men cut maize and dug out cassava roots, the women removed Valerie’s clothes and started to touch her. They (acted) “like animals,” Valerie recalls. The first time she was raped by an unidentified armed man, at age 15, she was left to bear her assailant’s child, but this time, her uterus was destroyed. Valerie will never give birth again and no man will marry her as a result.

“It is an unforgettable wound,” Valerie says. “Male rape is everywhere, but when it’s women, it’s incomprehensible. It’s like a curse.”

As reported above, “Women who were raped for years are now raping other women.” Rape is dehumanizing, especially when it is repeated over and over. Obviously, it destroys a woman's natural compassion and makes her a predator.

Let us pray for these 'predators' to regains some sense of humanity, for God to heal their victims, and for protection for other girls and women who are in danger. How long, Oh Lord, how long?

Extreme Child Pornography Found in Northern Ireland and Scotland

A Belfast, Northern Ireland school caretaker who was caught with almost 1,000 indecent images and videos of children has been jailed for nine months.

Mark Moan pleaded guilty to 14 counts of making indecent indecent images and seven charges of possessing extreme pornographic images.

Unfortunately, this report does not explain very well how Moan could make child pornographic images without abusing any children, but it would appear to be the case. Consequently, the sentence is probably quite appropriate.

Belfast Crown Court heard police found images of children as young as six being abused when they raided his home. The 43-year-old's address cannot be published for legal reasons.

Lagan Courthouse, Belfast
A prosecution lawyer told the court that PSNI received information in September 2011 that somebody at Moan's home in Belfast was involved in "making indecent photographs of children" through computer activity.

She said that she could not divulge how police had uncovered Moan's activities but said that it was "connected to other people".

The judge heard that a computer was seized from a bedroom that was found to contain 187 pictures and video files.

Moan admitted possessing the images on dates between 5 July, 2011 and 9 September, 2011.

The prosecution lawyer told the court: "A second computer was seized in the living room and police recovered 746 pictures and video files depicting extreme pornographic images."

She added that some of the images were in two of the most serious categories of child sex abuse images.

A defence barrister said his client has been suspended from his post as a school caretaker and would now lose his job. He told the court that Moan had started looking at the images for his own "sexual gratification" after the breakdown of his marriage and was drinking heavily.

However, the defence lawyer denied that Moan was part of any 'ring' or was involved in distributing the pictures and videos to others.

A probation report stated that Moan would need to go on a sex offenders awareness programme for three years.

The judge said: "This is a bad case. No child should be subjected to what I have viewed."

Moan was sentenced to two years, with nine months to be spent in custody and a further 15 months on licence following his release from jail.

A paedophile was found to have downloaded more than 30 hours of disturbing footage of child sex abuse.

Andrew Forbes, 36, of Logiealmond, (Perthshire, central Scotland) was caught after police received confidential information about the nature of the material on his laptop.

Perth Sheriff Court heard that 212 video files of abuse were found, with the majority featuring the worst kind of sado-masochistic abuse.

Forbes was placed on the sex offenders register. He will be sentenced later.
Andrew Forbes
He admitted two charges relating to child pornography between 23 March and 3 October last year.

Fiscal depute John Malpass told the court that confidential intelligence had been received about child porn being downloaded by Forbes.

He said Forbes' Dell laptop was examined and found to have one active user profile in the name "Andy" and within this were three folders of illicit material.

The prosecutor said 92 of the files found were at level five - the most serious level of abuse, 79 were level four, 19 were level three, eight were level two and four were in the lowest category, level one.

"They were found to be of children - predominantly boys - from infant age to approximately 16."

He added: "The video files had a combined running time of one day, six hours and 56 minutes."

Mr Malpass told the court. Forbes was interviewed by police and admitted downloading the material.

Sentence on Forbes, whose address was given as Cottarton Cottage, Logiealmond, was deferred for background reports.

A Teacher Posts Online Child Sex Slavery, Bestiality and Sadism Avoids Jail.

Grant Geoffrey Martin, 45, lost his job at an Adelaide eastern suburbs primary school after his arrest in February.

He faced charges of producing child pornography, but was given a suspended sentence by the Adelaide District Court. Police found more than 3,000 chat logs on his computer from a child sex-slave forum.

Judge Paul Slattery said much of what Martin wrote of involved sadism and bestiality.

"I find it very disturbing indeed that a teacher of 20 years would engage in this kind of behaviour while continuing to teach children on a day-to-day basis," he said.

"Your counsel submits that your offending was not for the purpose of sexual gratification and more for escapism. I find that submission hard to believe."

Grant Martin
The court was told Martin was confused about his gender and suffered workplace bullying. Was he also confused about whether or not he was human?

Judge Slattery said Martin's behaviour had brought shame to both himself and his family and had fractured their relationships.

The judge told Martin his offending encouraged others to exploit children even if Martin had not realised his actions were criminal.

"In your offending there is no child involved other than the imaginary child you created," he said.

"Offending of this type is so serious that even first-time offenders who have pleaded guilty can expect a custodial sentence." And yet?

Martin was given a jail sentence of three years and two months with a 20-month non-parole, but Judge Slattery said there was good reason to suspend the sentence and impose a $100 two-year bond.

"Your offending is very serious and I've only come to this point after a period of deep reflection," he said.

Judge Slattery said the courts had not dealt with such a matter before and it might be worth the Court of Criminal Appeal considering it. Let's hope so, and pray so.
