A Families South Australia childcare worker has pleaded guilty to horrific sex crimes against multiple young children, including an 18-month-old girl, under his care.
Shannon Grant McCoole, 32, appeared via video link in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday.
He pleaded guilty to 18 charges, including persistent sexual exploitation, unlawful sexual intercourse and production of child pornography.
The charges relate to offences committed over a three-year period from mid-2011 against multiple young boys and girls under McCoole's care.
One charge involved a girl aged 18 months.
A suppression order on McCoole's identity was lifted on Friday after legal argument.
The discovery of his horrific crimes in July led to the establishment of a royal commission into the state's child protection system, led by former Supreme Court justice Margaret Nyland.
Police have said they found more than 100,000 still images and 600 video files of child exploitation material at McCoole's home.
He will be sentenced in the District Court on January 19.
