Reno man sentenced to life for producing
and possessing child sex abuse material
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - A Reno man has been sentenced to life in prison for possessing and producing child sex abuse material.
40-year-old Jason Dobbs pled guilty to eight charges involving the production and possession of the material. The Washoe County DA’s Office says seven of the charges involved secretly recording the young girls while they were nude, with the eighth involving the possession of child sex abuse material depicting children as young as eight.
Dobbs was arrested in 2021 after detectives with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigated concerns that Dobbs may have been secretly recording children in his home.
An extensive digital forensic investigation revealed that Dobbs had spent years secretly recording the children, including using a hidden shower camera and exposing the children while they slept. The images uncovered largely involved children between the ages of 8 and 14.
The DA’s office says Dobbs used his training as an IT professional to hide his activities and to conceal the images he had amassed over the years.

Baton Rouge man sentenced to 80 years
in prison for child sex crimes
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man has been sentenced to serve eight decades behind bars after being convicted for child sex crimes.
- one count of sexual battery (of a child under age 5);
- one count of production of pornography involving juveniles, and;
- eight counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles
The sentences were handed down by Judge Hines without the possibility of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
Evidence presented by prosecutors confirmed a search warrant regarding alleged child pornography trafficking was conducted at Crosby’s home on February 7, 2024, in Baton Rouge.
Man arrested for first degree rape, sexual abuse of an animal, other charges
A field-level forensic preview was conducted on Crosby’s phone seized during the search warrant. Officials said videos depicting child pornography, including a video made by Crosby at his home as he sexually assaulted a child under the age of five years old, were readily apparent.
Further forensics conducted by experts in AG Murrill’s office located about 75 videos showing child pornography, with some including toddlers and younger being sexually assaulted.
Crosby made detailed admissions in a post-Miranda statement that tracked with the data embedded in the video he produced of his sexual assault of the child. He also admitted to knowingly possessing child pornography.
“There’s a special place in hell for people who rape little children. 80 years is not long enough, but I’ll take it. Great work by my team for getting justice for this victim,” said Attorney General Liz Murrill.
And he is right, there is a special place in Hell. I have come to believe that those who cannot bridle their sexual passion in this lifetime, are in great danger of burning in Hell, not with fire, but with passion that will never be quenched.
Where ‘Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’ - Mark 9:44-48.
This case was investigated by General Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and its affiliate members including the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
