Murray woman sent to prison for filming child sex abuse

SALT LAKE CITY — A Murray woman will spend at least 10 years behind bars after admitting to sexually abusing a young boy multiple times.

Third District Judge Todd Shaughnessy sentenced Jodee Davis, 32, to two concurrent terms of 10 years to life in prison for two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony.

The judge gave her credit for the nine months she has already spent in jail during the sentencing hearing on May 11.

FBI agents in Florida discovered an account posting child sexual abuse material from Utah, and the account was traced to Davis' home, according to charging documents.

When questioned, she admitted to downloading and uploading child sex abuse material, as well as recording herself sexually abusing a child and sending the video "roughly 200 times over the internet," the charges state

Davis pleaded guilty to the two charges as part a plea deal. In exchange for her plea, three counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, a first-degree felony, were dismissed and prosecutors agreed not to prosecute other currently known crimes.

Corpus Christi woman sentenced for sharing child abuse material

Melissa Sillers, 46, was sentenced to 156 months in federal prison after a forensic investigation linked her to distributing child sexual abuse material online.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Corpus Christi woman has been sentenced to federal prison after exchanging child sexual abuse material over the internet.

Melissa Sillers, 46, pleaded guilty Jan. 28. U.S. District Judge David Morales sentenced Sillers to 156 months in federal prison.

At the sentencing hearing, the court heard additional information regarding multiple online conversations Sillers had with different people during which she exchanged child sexual abuse material. In handing down the prison term, the court noted the increased harm that comes from those actively distributing this kind of material and the perpetual revictimization that occurs from it.

Sillers will serve 15 years on supervised release following the completion of her prison term. During that time, she will have to comply with numerous requirements designed to restrict her access to children and the internet. She will also be required to register as a sex offender. Restitution will be determined at a later date.

The investigation into Sillers began Oct. 4, 2022, when authorities discovered child sexual abuse material had been uploaded onto the internet. Law enforcement identified Sillers as the source of the content.

Authorities obtained a search warrant for Sillers's residence and seized her cell phone. A forensic examination revealed conversations between Sillers and various others during which they discussed sexual fantasies involving children and exchanged child sexual abuse material. The examination showed Sillers had distributed the material a month before her arrest.

Sillers remains in custody pending transfer to a Federal Bureau of Prisons facility.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations conducted the investigation with assistance from the Corpus Christi Police Department.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Overman prosecuted the case as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative the Department of Justice launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. U.S. Attorneys' Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section lead Project Safe Childhood, which marshals federal, state and local resources to locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children and to identify and rescue victims. Acting U.S. Attorney John G.E. Marck announced the sentence.

The County of Humboldt District Attorney's Office (HCDA) announced on May 20, 2026 that an Arcata man has been sentenced to 125 years to life in prison after being convicted of multiple child sexual abuse crimes.

The HCDA announced that Humboldt County Superior Court Judge Kaleb Cockrum sentenced Steve Elliott Boudreaux, 38, of Arcata, following his conviction on multiple child sexual abuse charges involving multiple victims.

Boudreaux crimes started in 2011, where he sexually molested two girls young girls at his home. One of the girls was six years old at the time.

The crimes went unreported for more than a decade until the summer of 2023, when one of the girls, now a young adult, reported Boudreaux’s crimes to the Arcata Police Department. During the investigation, the second girl came forward and told investigators Boudreaux also assaulted her.

Boudreaux was arrested in January 2024, and a jury trial began six months later. The jury convicted Boudreaux for molestation for one of the girls but were unable to reach an unanimous verdicts for crimes against the other girl.

In January 2025, the case went to trial again. However, the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict, with 11 of the 12 jurors voting to convict.

In November 2025, Senior Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm prosecuted the case for a third time, when Boudreaux was convicted of crimes against the second victim.

During each trial, jurors heard testimony from the victims, who faced Boudreaux in court and recounted traumatic experiences. Evidence recovered from Boudreaux’s cellphone in 2025 by the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force also showed he searched for pornographic material involving incest.

The case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm, with assistance from District Attorney Investigator Ryan Hill and District Attorney Victim Witness Advocate Caitlyn LaHaie. The North Coast Rape Crisis Team provided support to the victims during the case. Boudreaux was represented by local attorney Casey Russo.

District Attorney Stacey Eads stated, “Through the extraordinary courage, perseverance, and dedication to the truth of these young women --even after enduring the trauma of abuse and the difficulty testifying— Boudreaux is now held accountable and will spend his remaining years where he belongs.”
