A man found with more than 30,000 videos of children has been jailed.

Christopher Meade, 39, from Burnley was sentenced to three years imprisonment after police found thousands of images and videos involving children being sexually abused.

Preston Crown Court heard today that the defendant was discovered after the police traced the address of a neighbour living opposite to Meade.

On June 20 2019, police officers arrived at Spencer Street in Burnley and were greeted by a man who denied any involvement in the allegations made. When investigating further, officers asked the individual if anyone other than himself had access to his internet which led to the discovery of the defendant.

The court heard that Meade had admitted to using a router and had access to the internet of the house opposite. After getting access into the property from the defendant, officers explained the nature of their investigation which was when “the defendant became evasive” to which he then said he wished to speak to his solicitor.

Meade confirmed he had a computer in his bedroom but refused to provide a password which resulted in him being arrested and taken to the police station. During the search of a USB and desktop, 30,265 videos were discovered of which 530 category A (most serious) were found and 1015 category B were found. A further 28,720 category C images were found along with 65 extreme pornographic images, involving animals.

Officers who examined the content identified children aged between seven-nine, eight-10 and 10-12. The court heard that the defendant had collated all of the indecent images and videos over a span of seven years from November 2012 to June 2019.

Mr Toale, defending, stated that the defendant made no objections to the allegations and never planned to share, network or contact like-minded individuals.

He said: “The defendant was isolated in his own room accessing these types of images for his own personal consumption. He struggled to get his own head around the number of images over time and (was) shocked at what the experts found during the investigation.”

The defence explained how Meade now wanted to move on, away from the offence.

Passing sentencing, Judge Simon Medland QC recapped the number of images and videos that were discovered during the search.

He said: “These are real children who are really being abused by other people and it often stays with them for the rest of their lives.

“You showed little remorse and liability and denied sexual attraction to children which I completely reject. I have considered the reports in the case. The seriousness of this case greatly outweighs the mitigation. My public duty is clear to me - you must go to prison.”

The judge handed Meade a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and made him subject to notification requirements for life.

An officer who served in the Metropolitan Police’s East Area Command Unit was charged by the City of London Police on Wednesday with rape over an alleged incident that took place at the weekend.

A spokesperson for the Met Police confirmed that the officer, 28-year-old PC Adam Zaman, has now been suspended from duty, following the decision to charge him with rape.

“I recognise that the public will be concerned to hear that a serving police officer has been charged with such a serious offence,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Paul Trevers, Policing Commander for the East Area Command Unit. Trevers added that authorities “acted swiftly when this allegation was reported to us.”

The police service has informed the Directorate of Professional Standards of the incident and the situation has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct. This is the latest scandal to hit the Met Police service. Earlier in October, the force’s commissioner, Cressida Dick, said she was “deeply concerned” after 46-year-old police officer David Carrick was charged with rape over an alleged assault that reportedly took place while he was off duty on September 4, 2020.

Some 771 Met Police officers and staff have faced sexual misconduct allegations over the past 11 years, with only 83 individuals being fired from the service, according to data obtained by iNews under a Freedom of Information request. During that time, 163 officers from the Met were arrested for sexual offences, with 38 of those later convicted.

The latest allegation comes in the wake of the rape and murder of Sarah Everard by serving police officer Wayne Couzens, who used his official police ID while off duty to fake an arrest to abduct the 33-year-old. Couzens was later handed a rare whole-life sentence for the crime that sent shockwaves through the UK.

The Met Police has appointed social welfare expert Baroness Louise Casey to conduct a review of the culture and standards within the service in an effort to rebuild the public’s trust in the force following the recent revelations.

Study says male students at British universities admit to rapes,

sexual aggression

Oct. 29 (UPI) -- A new study is shining a light on attitudes about rape, sexual harassment and misogyny among male British students after it found that several admitted to such behaviors at more than 100 universities across the country.

The assessment, which was published this week by SAGE Journals, comprised of two different surveys -- one which surveyed about 300 students at about 100 British universities and one that polled roughly 250 students at a university in southeastern Britain.

The 27-page report, believed to be the first of its kind, found that 63 of the students said that they'd committed more than 250 sexual assaults, rapes or other aggressive incidents over the past two years.

That would be aggregate, not each! Most aggressors reported 2 or 3 acts in the past two years, even though the average would seem to be more than 4.

This is the Culture of Rape that abounds in western universities, and, I believe, has its roots in adolescent access to pornography.

For the surveys, the students were asked about their views on a range of sexual scenarios and their perception of women and romantic relationships.

The report, titled "Understanding Sexual Aggression in U.K. Male University Students," links toxic masculinity and sexual violence.

"Results highlighted that one in nine participants (11.4%) self-reported recent sexual aggression," the report states.

"These participants could be statistically differentiated from their non-offending peers on various established indicators of general sexual offending, of which logistic regression analyses highlighted atypical sexual fantasies, general aggression, hostility toward women and rape myth acceptance as being the most reliable predictors."

According to the study, many students who confessed to sexual crimes also admitted to holding misogynistic views, such as having fantasies about rape and sexual torture and believing that intoxicated women are responsible if they are assaulted.

According to the research,it's estimated that about one in five women in universities across developed nations will become targets of sexual violence. It recommends more prevention work on campuses to prevent sexual harm, such as using staffers to work with sexually aggressive students.

"Male sexual aggression is an international public health issue that plagues universities," the report says.

"Whole-university sexual violence campaigns have shown [great] promise -- particularly at reducing rape myth acceptance and increasing awareness of sexual violence among students -- and may also offer promising avenues for reducing rates of university-based sexual aggression."

‘Porn as Harmful as Smoking, Can Lead to Sexual Violence,’ say British MPs

The title here is a bit odd - first, comparing Porn to Smoking is strange at best, but then the statement that Porn can lead to sexual violence is, like the smoking reference, a dramatic understatement.

Porn has a dramatic effect on adolescent brains as they re-wire, resulting in aberrant views of women. This, I believe, is the underlying cause of the culture of rape that rules western colleges.

Also, porn, like all sin, is progressive, especially for those who watch a lot of it. Several stories on this blog quote child rapists and child porn viewers as having started with regular porn and then progressed to more violence and younger and younger victims.

Porn is evil, and it is a 'gateway' evil that opens one up to deeper and deeper evils.

Pornography should be treated as seriously as major public health issues such as smoking, and funding allocated to curb its harmful effects, which can include sexual violence, a group of MPs claims.

MPs on the Commons’ Women and Equalities Committee have released a report titled: ‘Sexual harassment of women and girls in public places’, in which they conclude that the UK government needs to take more seriously the damaging effects on, primarily men, who view excessive amounts of online porn.

Far more important to dissuade adolescent boys from viewing porn.

The report claims the government has so far failed to come up with any plans to positively address men’s relationship with online porn, despite the proven link between porn and sexual violence.

It reads: “...the Government has no plans to address adult men’s use of mainstream online pornography, despite research suggesting that men who use pornography are more likely to hold sexist attitudes and be sexually aggressive towards women.”

The report cites two pieces of research which both conclude that violent pornography was a contributing factor to the perpetration of sexual violence. Research titled: ‘Pornography, Sexual Coercion and Abuse and Sexting in Young People’s Intimate Relationships: A European Study,’ noted that the “perpetration of sexual coercion and abuse was significantly associated with regular viewing of online pornography.”

Surveys conducted by the End Violence Against Women coalition in 2016 showed that 64 percent of women, including 85 percent of 18-24-year-olds, had suffered unwanted sexual attention in public places, including 35 percent who said they had experienced unwanted touching. More than 60 percent of girls and young women say they do not feel safe walking home.

The MPs insisted ‘public places must be made safe for all women and girls’ and have called for a ban on viewing adult material on mobile phones on buses - adding the harassment of women had become “normalised.”

They also recommend the government introduces a new law to ban the creation and distribution of sexual images taken without the person’s consent as well as suggesting that universities and train operators should have clear policies on tackling sexual harassment.

Ostensibly, the MPs insist government must treat pornography like other public health issues such as road safety and smoking, and launch a long-term programme of public campaigns to change attitudes towards women with an “evidence-based approach” to address its harmful effects.

Backbench Tory MP Maria Miller who chairs the committee, said: “The #MeToo movement shows that we must confront some deeply uncomfortable truths about our society and the attitudes some men hold. Laws alone cannot solve the cultural acceptability of sexual harassment.

“That is why we have set out a series of practical measures that government, public transport operators, local authorities and universities should implement immediately. Public places must be made safe for all women and girls.”

60% of Kids Referred for Mental Healthcare in England Sent Home Without Treatment

A new report has revealed that the majority of children who are referred for specialist mental healthcare in England are being denied the treatment they need.

Data from nearly half of the organizations within England’s National Health Service (NHS) has shown that around 60 percent of under-18s who are referred to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) by their doctor are not receiving any treatment.

Meanwhile, the number of young people admitted to Accident and Emergency departments for self-harm increased for the seventh year running.

The vast majority of self-harm admissions were girls, accounting for 77 percent of cases over the period from 2010 to 2016. However, there has also been an increase among boys.

The figures were obtained by children’s charity Spurgeons using Freedom of Information requests.

“The facts are harrowing. At least four young people in every secondary school class are now self-harming,” said Spurgeons’ Assistant Psychologist Jag Basra. “Within the last decade we’ve seen a considerable rise in the range of mental health issues impacting young people, in part due to social media pressures and the ongoing stigma towards speaking about our mental health.

“Ultimately the long term-implications of self-harm are frightening, and in some cases fatal, and it is for this reason that addressing self-harm needs to be a major public health priority.”

Basra explained that some children and young people use self-harming as a coping strategy to manage heightened emotions. This increases the risk of recurring self-harm incidents.

It's disappointing that no-one here is relating the increasing need for mental healthcare to the increasing child sex abuse that is epidemic in the UK and almost everywhere else. Roughly 3 girls and one boy in each middle-school class is pretty close to the average number of children who are being sexually abused.

Child sex abuse is not the only reason for teen mental health issues, there are many, including the use of pot and its propensity to create schizophrenia in teens. But the growing culture of rape in schools, thanks at least in part to the easy availability of pornography to adolescent boys, is certainly a contributing factor.

These kids need help and they need it quickly if they are going to overcome much of the difficulties of surviving child sex abuse. Sexually abused boys are in great danger of becoming sexual abusers themselves without considerable help. Not getting them that help just exacerbates the worst atrocity in the country today.

Spurgeons is calling on commissioners in England and Wales to look at alternative solutions to the adolescent mental health crisis.

The charity has created a program for young people who self-harm and their families. Spurgeons’ Family Intervention for Self-Harm therapeutic program (FISH) aims to help those young people who don’t have a formal mental health diagnosis and therefore do not qualify for specialist mental health support services.

“We know these are hard times and NHS budgets have many competing priorities. We believe that charities like ours can play a crucial role in helping to safeguard these vulnerable young people," the charity's CEO Ross Hendry said. "FISH will ease the pressure on CAMHS, enabling them to increase the rates of young people they treat who are at crisis point.”

Claims of child sex offences committed by other children have almost doubled in four years, according to new reports.

The number of alleged offences reported to police in England and Wales rose from 5,215 in 2013 to 9,290 in 2016, children's charity Barnardo's has discovered. 

In total, there were 32,452 reports to police of alleged sexual offences by children on under 18 victims over the four year period – an average of more than 22 every day.

The alarming figures, which were obtained through a Freedom of Information request, strengthen calls by the UK's leading children's charity for action to tackle the growing problem of children sexually harming each other.

But the charity said the number could be higher as seven of the 43 forces in England and Wales either did not respond or provided only a partial response. 

The forces with the highest number of reported offences were the Metropolitan Police (5,470); West Yorkshire (3,192); Greater Manchester (3,024); West Midlands (2,876) and Kent (1,678). 

In Warwickshire there was a rise of 521 per cent. Norfolk saw an increase of 371 per cent and the rise in Lincolnshire was 345 per cent.  

Last summer Barnardo's warned that child on child sexual abuse threatened to become the next major child protection issue. It backed calls for a national inquiry to examine the issue and urged government to develop a national strategy to tackle it.

That would require a national commitment to remove the possibility of adolescent boys being able to view pornography on the internet or on TV. Good luck with that. The viewing habits of voters, whether perverts or not, is more important to the government than the welfare of children. Children have no voice and don't vote!

Barnardo's also believes that age-appropriate compulsory sex and relationship education (SRE) would better protect children and help them understand consent, respect and what a healthy relationship should look like.

Barnardo's chief executive, Javed Khan said: 'Barnardo's warned last year that unless child on child sexual abuse is dealt with head on, it may become the next scandal in our society. These results are another wake up call to the extent of the problem.

'We're deeply concerned more children may be sexually harming other children. We know this can be because they've been abused themselves and may not have received the right support to help them recover.

Inter-generational child sex abuse is a serious problem especially in rural communities. It is not being addressed very well in any country.

'An estimated third of sexual abuse is carried out by children. Rehabilitating children so they don't go on to harm others is vital to preventing further sexual abuse. High quality age appropriate mandatory SRE lessons would help children recognise what a healthy relationship should look like.'

National Police Chiefs' Council lead for child protection and chief constable of Norfolk police, Simon Bailey said: 'We believe we can attribute these increases to more awareness and greater victim confidence. We also have to look at the possibility that more abuse is being perpetrated and if technology is facilitating this.

'These figures highlight the importance of building resilience in young people and educating them about sexual relationships. This can't be left to chance.

'I know from my own force that we are engaging with schools more than ever to educate and raise awareness of both the different forms of abuse and how to get support. It is clear from the increase in the number of reports we are receiving how vital this work is.'

Nusrat Ghani, the Conservative MP who chaired last summer's cross-party inquiry on Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB) said: 'This latest research shows what a problem child on child abuse is, and why we need to tackle it. But it hopefully also shows that awareness of this issue is rising and that people are more likely to report instances of it to the police.

'Our report was right to put this issue front and centre, because for too long it has gone unreported and not been understood. The Government must work with schools, local authorities, police and voluntary organisations to tackle it.

'In this smartphone age, parents must also play a vigilant role in protecting their children from harmful sexual behaviour and from harmful sexual images that cause damage they are too young to understand.'

South Dakota Lawmakers - The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Pornography Declared Health Crisis by South Dakota

Good! The third state to realize the extraordinary harm the easy availability of pornography is doing to children. It is responsible, I believe, for the growing Culture of Rape and for the increasing numbers of children being sexually assaulted by other children. Something must be done to make pornography 100% inaccessible by children.

Senators in South Dakota have passed a resolution declaring pornography a public health crisis, joining Virginia and Utah among that states stepping up efforts to highlight the dangers of x-rated adult material.

According to resolution SCR4, passed in South Dakota, porn leads to risky sexual activity, low-self esteem and sometimes eating disorders.

Advances in technology are exposing young children to pornography “at an alarming rate,” and pornography is “linked to a lessening desire in young persons to marry,” the resolution states.

Republican Senator Jenna Netherton from Sioux Falls sponsored the resolution along with 51 other Republicans, stating that pornography increasingly causes harm to “men, women and children,” thanks to its availability on the internet and smartphones.

The Republican Party’s 2016 Party Platform also targeted pornography as a “public health crisis” that is “destroying the lives of millions.”  

An ugly subject better dealt with quietly and locally

S.D. lawmakers file bill barring transgender students from shower, locker rooms

PIERRE -- A pair of South Dakota lawmakers filed a bill Wednesday aimed at barring transgender students from locker rooms, shower rooms and changing changing rooms that don't match their biological sex at birth.

The measure, which is similar to a bill vetoed by Gov. Dennis Daugaard in 2016, would allow separate accommodations for transgender students who don't wish to use facilities that don't correspond with their gender identity. The 2016 bill would have expanded that ban to include restrooms.

Sen. Lance Russell, R-Hot Springs, and Rep. Thomas Brunner, R-Nisland, sponsored the measure, which had not yet been assigned to a committee Wednesday afternoon.

Russell said he brought the measure in hopes of addressing lingering concerns about privacy in public school locker room, shower room and changing facilities and to provide additional support to small school districts.

“I believe the public was bewildered by the veto last year and that the Legislature’s failure to protect the school districts in their efforts to protect all of the students,” Russell said.

The legislation was drafted by the conservative advocacy group Family Heritage Alliance Action, that also backed the 2016 bill aimed at restricting access to bathrooms for transgender students. The group's executive director, Dale Barstcher, said he was hopeful that the new language would help it gain traction in the Legislature and with the governor.

Opponents of the bill including civil rights advocates and allies of the LGBT community said they would fight the bill at the Capitol as they did with House Bill 1008.

Libby Skarin, policy director for the American Civil Liberties Union of South Dakota, said the measure was discriminatory and could isolate transgender students.

“Transgender children are already some of the most vulnerable in our state, so it’s especially shameful that some South Dakota politicians are once again focused on singling them out for discrimination," Skarin said in a statement. "All this bill does is send the message that it’s okay for their peers – and state politicians – to target and bully transgender children."

The Sioux Falls School Board, as well as state public education groups, have opposed the measure and asked last year that the Legislature not take it up. Sioux Falls School Board President Todd Thoelke said that the district hasn't had any problems dealing with transgender students' needs on a case-by-case basis.

Daugaard earlier this year said he viewed similar bills as a "solution in search of a problem" and said situations of bathroom or locker room use in schools were best dealt with at the local level.

A South Dakota legislator who admitted having sexual contact with two interns resigned on Monday, saying he regretted his actions during the past two legislative sessions.

Republican Rep. Mathew Wollmann, 26, said last week that both interns were over age 21 and that the contact during the 2015 and 2016 legislative sessions was consensual. But his colleagues voted to set up a committee to investigate his actions, and they were scheduled to meet Tuesday.

Wollmann announced his resignation in a letter first reported by the Mitchell Daily Republic newspaper. The former Marine didn't immediately respond to messages from The Associated Press, but the Legislative Research Council provided a copy of his letter.

The meeting on Wollmann's conduct is still planned, said Republican Rep. Timothy Johns, chairman of the House Select Committee on Discipline and Expulsion.

In South Dakota, legislative interns are college students, some 21 or older. Legislative rules don't explicitly ban sexual contact or relationships between lawmakers and interns, although they do prohibit sexual harassment and call on lawmakers to maintain "the highest of moral and ethical standards."

Wollmann, from the eastern South Dakota city of Madison, first won the seat in 2014. In the letter, Wollmann expressed his regret, writing that he hoped to return to the Legislature in the future.

"I have nothing but the greatest respect for those that I have grown so close to these past two years, and even in these early days of the 92nd legislative session," Wollmann wrote. "Those that read this should know that it is my wrongdoing that has put this institution in a sour light. Those responsible for me have displayed nothing but the highest honor for this establishment."

House Majority Leader Lee Qualm, House Speaker Mark Mickelson and Minority Leader Spencer Hawley said in a statement that Wollmann decided "this was best for him, his fiance, his family and the young ladies involved."

"Every legislator has an obligation to refrain from behavior unbecoming to the Legislature and inconsistent with maintaining the public's trust," the House leaders said.

Republican Gov. Dennis Daugaard said in a statement that he thinks Wollmann made the right decision. Daugaard said he will act quickly to name a replacement.

Wollmann's public admission came shortly after a legislative committee voted down a new rule to explicitly bar legislators from sexual contact with interns and pages. One lawmaker who spoke against the change said he felt the current rules were sufficient.

The House leaders said they will meet with lawmakers, interns and staff to discuss potential improvements that could be made to legislator and employee training and any updates to legislative rules. Hawley told the AP that he supports discussing new rules.

Wollmann is the second South Dakota lawmaker in roughly a decade to be investigated by lawmakers for alleged misconduct involving interns or pages. In 2007, the state Senate censured Democrat Dan Sutton after he was accused of fondling an 18-year-old page when they shared a motel room during the 2006 legislative session. Sutton denied the allegation and was re-elected.

A Talladega County child advocacy group said they’re seeing an increase in child-on-child sex abuse cases, brought on by a growing addiction to pornography among children.

Use of technology and the internet are as common today as taking a breath and the children taking it in continue to get younger. Just a few clicks can answer just about any question. But Nancy Green, with Palmer Place, said it can also teach some very adult lessons.

"We had (cases) that the child has said, ‘I learned that from the internet,’ and we've had children that are basically describing an addiction to child pornography and then they try it out,” Green said.

From October to December, the children's advocacy group said it interviewed 70 child sex abuse victims -- the highest for a quarter in the group’s history. Most of the predators where other children.

"We had a case recently where the victim is only 3 years old and the perpetrator is only 10 or 11 years old,” Green said.

Green said as the age of the perpetrator decreases, so does the probability of prosecuting the abuse case, which leaves it up to parents to help fight the problem.

"Just be aware of what your children are doing and pay attention to the signs that something may be happening to them, that they're changing, they're withdrawing,” Green said.

Studies show most young people come across pornography by age 15 in some way. 

I am quite sure that number is considerably lower than 15 now.

Palmer Place recommends parents use apps or protection software to help monitor children's online activity.

That, of course, is reactive not preventive. We need an inquiry into the availability of pornography to children, and we need it now. It is destroying a generation of boys and they are damaging a generation of girls. As mentioned before, I believe that the easy availability of pornography to adolescent boys is the main cause of the culture of rape in our schools and universities.

Pornhub Among Sites Blocked by Duterte in Pedophile Crackdown

As part of a crackdown on child pornography, Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has banned a number of x-rated websites in the country, according to his communications secretary. Sites including Pornhub and Xvideos are now reportedly inaccessible.

Since Saturday, visitors from Philippines to Pornhub, which doesn’t host child pornography, were redirected to a page with the message: “This website has been ordered blocked under authority of the Philippine government pursuant to Republic Act 9775 or the Anti-Child Pornography Law.”

Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar told journalists attending the launch of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meeting in Manila on Sunday that “these porn sites should really be banned because they are being used by pedophiles and other people who subscribe to child pornography sites.”

“We don’t want our youth and even the adults to be addicted to lewd videos shown in the internet,” Andanar said on behalf of President Duterte.

They are correct to link the sites to child pornography. While they may not show child porn themselves, they almost certainly lead people to turn to child porn. Sin is progressive, and in pornography that means two things - increasing violence and decreasing age of the participants. 

Then there is the impossibility of stopping underage children from accessing pornography. Adolescent boys, whose minds are in the process of re-wiring, develop a warped concept of girls which, I believe, is the main cause of the culture of rape in schools and universities.

Children being able to access pornography is a form of child sex abuse in itself. As such, if contact between juveniles and porn sites can be proven, those sites should be either shut down or sued for child sex abuse.

An anti-child pornography council, composed of social workers and policemen, has been given the task of identifying which sites breach the anti-child pornography law, Information and Communications Technology Secretary Rodolfo Salalima told the Inquirer.

If contact between juveniles and porn sites can be proven,

those sites should be either shut down or sued for child sex abuse

Recently-released statistics from Pornhub reveals viewers in the Philippines spend the longest time on the site. For the second consecutive year Filipinos spent longer on the site than anyone else, averaging around 12 minutes and 45 seconds per visit, ahead of South Africa in second and the US in third.

PornScrub: South Carolina Bill Bans Obscene Content on Personal Computers

Computers purchased in South Carolina in 2017 may only offer PG-13 rated internet. A bill pre-filed by Republican State Representative William Chumley would require that personal computers and other devices block internet access to pornography and obscene content.

Pornography is believed to represent 4 percent of the internet, but computers in South Carolina would come with a blocker that only allows them to access the other 96 percent. Rep. Bill Chumley (R-Spartanburg) made sure to give himself the Christmas present of pre-filing a bill that would block cellphones, tablets and computers from accessing pornography unless consumers pay an extra $20.

The bill, fecklessly titled the Human Trafficking Prevention Act, would fine manufacturers or sellers of electronic devices that do not install the blocks, whether they are created in factories or are at the point of sale. Even the kinds of filters that couldn’t otherwise be easily uninstalled by a user remain unknown.

The human trafficking aspect is invoked, because the money received from allowing a user to look at porn would go to the South Carolina Attorney General Office’s human trafficking task force.

Efforts to contact Chumley or the bill’s cosponsor, Rep. Mike Burns (R-Greenville County) for clarification by Gizmodo were not successful. But Chumley told GoUpdate that “if we could have manufacturers install filters that would be shipped to South Carolina, then anything that children have access on for pornography would be blocked.”

“We felt like that would be another way to fight human trafficking,” he added, not explaining how.

However, Chumley explained to GoUpstate that “if end user buys an apparatus, a computer, and they want access to that, they would have to pay to have that filter removed.”

In its current form, the bill would mandate that anyone still willing to pay for the privilege of porn would not only pay the $20 but would have to verify that they are at least 18 years old and submit a written request that the filter be disabled after receiving a written warning of the potential dangers of disabling the blocker.

The question of whether or not purchasing computers online would be the easiest way to get around the bill is unanswered for the time being, but Chumley referred to the bill as a “beginning point” that could be changed once legislation resumes after the holidays.

This is a tremendous article about famed British novelist Martin Amis. Amis is also known for both speaking and writing about what he considers to be the essential nature of the Sexual Revolution, and the human misery that preceded it.

Apparently Amis visited several porno movie sites in 2001 to interview members of the industry and report on it. However what he saw changed his view for ever. He has gone so far as to say that he believes pornography will “change human nature”.

I want to encourage to read the entire article, it is fascinating and very disturbing at the same time. I will give you some highlights.

Pornography is reshaping sexuality, as detailed in Dr. Norman Doidge’s fascinating work on the neuroplasticity of the brain. Children are accessing pornography younger and younger—the average age of first exposure is now nine—and it is serving as their sex education. That is why, in later years, pornography will often determine the nature of their sexual interactions…

Amis makes some very insightful observations :

“American porno,” Amis noted, “is market-driven. We can see what the above tells us about porno. But what does it tell us about America? And if America is more like a world than a country, what does it tell us about the world?” The answer, Amis is afraid, is nothing good. For example: “Americans spend more on strip clubs than they spend on theatre, opera, ballet, jazz and classical concerts combined.”

Porn, as Dr. Gail Dines often says, is the destroyer of culture.

The article concludes with:

Pornography has normalized virtually every sex act, poisoned the minds of men, and groomed women for sexual violence like some horrifying cyber-pimp. It has spread hatred and death, and chewed up and spat out thousands of young girls, leaving them broken and shell-shocked. It has changed the very nature of human sexuality, deforming it into something that even the first purchasers of Playboy would not recognize.

Martin Amis is concerned this poison is hurting his children…as we all should.

Actually, these are only the ones we know about. The ones we don't know about may be many times more than that.

Did you just get sick to your stomach? Any normal person would.  Last week I reported an article that looked at the effects of pornography on ‘every day’ sex and the prevailing acceptance of what was once seen as ‘fringe sexual acts’ now becoming the norm for people.

In an article from Australia, Wendy Squires states :

“Yes, I know I am making broad brush-stroke generalisations here and not every young girl is treating her body as a receptacle, or intending to send sexually available signals with their appearance. But the fact is that there is a generation of boys who are learning the art of seduction by watching porn, expecting their partners to be as willing, worked-up and compliant as the women moaning and writhing on screen.”

Unfortunately the statement “Life Imitates Art” is very much a reality when it comes to porn, sex and human trafficking.

In a heart breaking article Internet Watch Foundation says a web page showing a child being sexually abused is identified every eight minutes – with some victims younger than two years old.

If we truly want to stop the sexual abuse of children. If we truly want to end human trafficking, we are going to have to have a ‘grown up’ conversation about the role of the production and consumption of pornography in the vicious cycle.

If you want to keep watching your porn, if you want to keep that aspect of your ‘freedom of speech’ – then please go protest baby seal clubbing. Why? Because we need activists that are intelligent and rational as well as passionate in this space. You can save a seal with that attitude; your not going to save a kid.

Russian Internet Watchdog Cracks Down on Another Major Porn Producer

Pornolab latest victim of Russian internet watchdog’s crackdown on XXX sites

Russia’s media watchdog has blocked one of the country’s biggest adult content torrent sites, Pornolab, despite internet users mocking Roskomnadzor’s earlier attempts to tighten its grip on adult content online.

The decision came into force on November 8, according to watchdog’s press service.

Pornolab’s troubles began on 25 August, when the Togliatti District Court granted a prosecutor’s lawsuit demanding a nationwide ban on the content of the site for a rather vague reason, namely “containing information, the dissemination of which is prohibited in the Russian Federation” and which “affects the mind and will of an indefinite number of persons.”

The Pornolab administrators posted an announcement on November 3, that they had received a letter from Roskomnadzor pertaining to the August ruling.

“Friends!” wrote a site admin called WhatThe****.

“We have received a notification from Roskomnadzor to remove illegal information. At the same time, what we are required to remove was not indicated in the letter, unlike earlier cases. In spite of the comically absurd situation, the likelihood that we will be blocked is almost 100 percent.”

A user, named as Dimitri @Christoph, published an open letter to the judge, who ruled to ban the adult resource. According to Life.ru the user claims that the judge “dishonours” Togliatti, a city “where a lot of good people live,” whose access to the site has been obstructed.

The user has his point, since several mirrors of the site can still be accessed.

Meanwhile, Russian users reacted rather ironically to the blocking of one of the biggest vaults of adult content.

“Pornolab blocked, no big deal. These are people, who REGISTERED on a pornsite, to DOWNLOAD porn. What can blocks do to them?”

“Pornolab is blocked. Nothing is sacred.”

“Roskomnadzor blocked pornolab. To the Kremlin everybody!”

“Roskomnadzor, you’ve blocked Pornhub and Pornolab. Are you going to make your own and just taking care of competitors?”

Of course none of these porn users seem the least bit concerned about the availability of porn to adolescents. That would be one of the main contributors to the culture of rape epidemic that is sweeping the western world. Good for you Mr Roskomnadzor, you could be a little more direct, but I appreciate what you are doing. God bless you.

Pornolab, launched in 2008, is one of the largest file-sharing sites in Russia, with over 1.7 million registered users and 150 thousand daily visitors. It is the latest adult website to fall afoul of Roskomnadzor, which previously blocked the popular pages Pornhub and YouPorn in September. In return for lifting the ban the owners of Pornhub offered to give Roskomnadzor free premium membership. Roskomnadzor politely refused.

This is an awesome idea! Let's hope and pray that it get passed and implemented quickly and becomes a standard for the rest of the world to follow. We will never get rid of pornography completely, but making it far more difficult for children to access is absolutely necessary if we are ever to reverse the growing culture of rape in the world.

The Israeli Ministerial Committee for Legislation has approved a bill requiring internet providers to block pornography by default, with lawmakers saying that finding adult material online is no more difficult for children than “buying an ice-cream.”

Under the terms of the proposed bill, users wanting to access pornography online would first have to notify their service providers in writing, by telephone, or via the service provider’s website.

It will be up to the Communication Minister (the serving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu) to set out specific censorship guidelines for service providers.

If approved by the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, the bill would trigger the creation of lists of internet users requesting access to pornographic and other sites “deemed offensive,” the Haaretz reported.

One of the lawmakers who proposed the bill, Shuli Moalem-Refaeli, stated that as things stand, children can freely consume “harsh content” online.

“The damaging influence of watching, and addiction to, pornographic and severe violence has been proven in many studies, with great harm to children. Today, it is easier for a child to consume harsh content on the internet than to buy an ice cream at the local kiosk,” Moalem-Refaeli said, Haaretz reported.

“We must prevent such access by making the default of the internet provider to filter such content, unless the customer has asked to be exposed to it,” she added.

Israeli law currently requires internet service providers to offer specific content-filtering systems that internet users can request to run for free. Although providers must notify their customers of the availability of such services, many parents have no clue about this option.

“The average age that children are (first?) exposed to pornographic sites is 8. I don’t think it is right for us to leave things like that,” one of the bill’s biggest advocates, Shuli Moalem-Refaeli, told Channel 2 News, according to the Times of Israel.

Lawmakers from nine of the Knesset’s 10 factions signed the bill. Only members of the Meretz left-wing party refused to back it, Haaretz reported.

Critics argue that the bill limits the freedom of information and is therefore a violation of privacy. Many also raise concerns that attempts to censor “difficult content” would inhibit access to unrelated content, like information on breast cancer and other medical-research material.

But Moalem says the proposed legislation is not meant to limit people’s right to view whatever they want.

“This isn’t Iran,” she noted.

“I am not interested in blocking a campaign for breast cancer awareness, as a woman and a survivor of breast cancer,” she said. “That is not what we are talking about. But during the process of legislation it will become clear what we are talking about,” Moalem added.

Israeli lawmakers have been trying to advance legislation to prevent children from viewing pornography online for nearly a decade. Five similar bills were introduced in the past three Knessets, but none advanced, Haaretz reported, adding that the newly proposed bill is likely to receive a large majority in the parliament thanks to overwhelming support from the governing coalition and opposition parties.

Sex Before Kissing: How 15yo Girls are Dealing with Porn-Addicted Boys

It's almost always children who pay the price for man's

perversions, and, more often than not, girls

There is no doubt in my mind that porn availability to adolescents is responsible for the rape culture that exists in schools and universities. As the article says, it will just keep getting worse. Except for Utah, there is no appetite for ending pornography completely, but, as impossible as that is, that is the only solution.

“[I want] better education regarding sex for both boys and girls [and] information about pornography, and the way it influences harmful sexual practices.”

These are the words of Lucy, aged 15, one of 600 young Australian women and girls who took part in a just-released survey commissioned by Plan Australia and Our Watch. The survey, conducted by Ipsos, gathered responses from the girls and young women aged 15-19 in all states and territories.

In the survey report, entitled Don’t send me that pic, participants reported that online sexual abuse and harassment were becoming a normal part of their everyday interactions. And while the behavior seemed so common, more than 80% said it was unacceptable for boyfriends to request naked images.

Sexual bullying and harassment are part of daily life for many girls growing up as a part of this digital generation. Young girls are speaking out more and more about how these practices have links with pornography—because it’s directly affecting them.

Pornography is molding and conditioning the sexual behaviors and attitudes of boys, and girls are being left without the resources to deal with these porn-saturated boys.

If there are still any questions about whether porn has an impact on young people’s sexual attitudes and behaviors, perhaps it’s time to listen to young people themselves. Girls and young women describe boys pressuring them to provide acts inspired by the porn they consume routinely. Girls tell of being expected to put up with things they don’t enjoy.

Some see sex only in terms of performance, where what counts most is the boy enjoying it. I asked a 15-year-old about her first sexual experience. She replied: “I think my body looked OK. He seemed to enjoy it.” Many girls seem cut off from their own sense of pleasure or intimacy. The main marker of a “good” sexual encounter is only if he enjoyed it. Girls and young women are under a lot of pressure to give boys and men what they want, to become a real life embodiment of what the boys have watched in porn, adopting exaggerated roles and behaviors and providing their bodies as mere sex aids. Growing up in today’s porn culture, girls quickly learn that they are service stations for male gratification and pleasure.

When asked, “How do you know a guy likes you?,” an 8th grade girl replied: “He still wants to talk to you after you [give him oral sex].” A male high school student said to a girl: “If you [give me oral sex] I’ll give you a kiss.” Girls are expected to provide sex acts for tokens of affection, and are coached through it by porn-taught boys. A 15-year-old girl said she didn’t enjoy sex at all, but that getting it out of the way quickly was the only way her boyfriend would stop pressuring her and watch a movie.

7th grade girls are increasingly seeking help on what to do about requests for naked images. Receiving texts like “send me a picture of your tits” is an almost daily occurrence for many young girls. The girl asks: “How do I say no without hurting his feelings?”

As the Plan Australia/Our Watch report found, girls are tired of being pressured for images they don’t want to send, but they seem resigned to send them anyways because of how normal the practice has become. Boys then typically use the images as a form of currency, to swap and share with their friends. Often times boys will use the revealing pics to humiliate girls publicly if there is a bad break up.

7th grade girls are asking questions about bondage and S&M. Many of them have seen 50 Shades of Grey, and wonder if a boy wants to hit me, tie me up and stalk me, does that mean he loves me? Girls are tolerating demeaning and disrespectful behaviors, and thereby internalizing pornography’s messages about their submissive role.

Girls describe being groped in the school yard, and being routinely sexually harassed at school or on the school bus on the way home. They are saying that boys act like they are entitled to girls’ bodies, like girls are only there to pleasure them. It is partially true what defenders of porn often say, porn does provide sex education—but not in the way they think. It teaches middle school boys that women and girls are there for his pleasure and that they are always up for sex. To them, no just means persuade me.

Girls describe being ranked at school on their bodies, and are sometimes compared to the bodies of porn stars. They know they can’t compete, but that doesn’t stop them from thinking that they have to. Requests for genital surgery have tripled in a little over a decade among young women aged 15-24. Girls who don’t undergo porn-inspired waxing are often considered ugly, dirty, or gross by boys, as well as by other girls.

Some girls suffer physical injury from porn-inspired sexual acts, including anal sex. The director of a domestic violence centre on the Gold Coast wrote to Collective Shout about the increase in porn-related injuries to girls aged 14 and up, from acts including torture:

“In the past few years we have had a huge increase in intimate partner rape of women from 14 to 80+. The biggest common denominator is consumption of porn by the offender. With offenders not able to differentiate between fantasy and reality, believing women are ‘up for it’ 24/7, ascribing to the myth that ‘no means yes and yes means anal,’ oblivious to injuries caused and never ever considering consent. We have seen a huge increase in deprivation of liberty, physical injuries, torture, drugging, filming and sharing footage without consent.”

The Australian Psychological Society estimates that adolescent boys are responsible for around 20% of rapes of adult women and between 30% and 50% of all reported sexual assaults of children. Just last week, Emeritus Professor Freda Briggs argued that online pornography is turning children into copycat sexual predators, acting out on other children what they are seeing in porn.

A 2012 review of research on “The Impact of Internet Pornography on Adolescents” found that adolescent consumption of internet porn was linked to attitudinal changes, including acceptance of male dominance and female submission as the primary sexual paradigm, with women viewed as “sexual playthings eager to fulfill male sexual desires.” The authors found that “adolescents who are intentionally exposed to violent sexually explicit material were six times more likely to be sexually aggressive than those who were not exposed.”

The proliferation and globalization of hypersexualized imagery and pornographic themes makes healthy sexual exploration almost impossible. Sexual conquest and domination are untempered by the bounds of respect, intimacy and authentic human connection. Young people are not learning about intimacy, friendship and love, but about cruelty and humiliation. As a recent study found:

“Online mainstream pornography overwhelmingly centered on acts of violence and degradation toward women, the sexual behaviors exemplified in pornography skew away from intimacy and tenderness and typify patriarchal constructions of masculinity and femininity.”

It is intimacy and tenderness that so many girls and young women say they are looking for. But how will young women find these sensual, slow-burn experiences in men indoctrinated by pornography? Psychologist Philip Zimbardo says of young men: “They don’t know the language of face to face contact … Constant arousal, change, novelty excitement makes them out of sync with slow developing relationships – relationships which build slowly.”

Most importantly, it’s young people themselves demanding change. Josie, 18, is quoted in the Plan Australia/Our Watch report:

“We need some sort of crack down on the violent pornography that is currently accessible to boys and men. This violent pornography should be illegal to make or view in Australia as we clearly have a problem with violence and boys are watching a lot of pornography which can be very violent … This is influencing men’s attitude towards women and what they think is acceptable. Violent pornography is infiltrating Australian relationships.”

Girls like Lucy and Josie deserve our response. It is wrong to leave sexual formation in the hands of the global sex industry. We need to do more to help young people stand up against warped notions of sexuality conveyed in pornography.

Fight the New Drug is all about pro-love and pro-healthy sexuality. That is why we are anti-porn. Porn is full of ideals and beliefs that are completely opposite of what real relationships, real sex, and real love are like. Healthy relationships are built on equality, honesty, respect, and love. But in porn, it’s the reverse; interactions are based on domination, disrespect, abuse, violence, and detachment. Our generation is the first to deal with the issue of pornography to this intensity and scale. And, as we’ve seen with today’s society,  if we don’t take a stand, the problem is only going to get worse and worse. By being informed and understanding porn’s harmful effects, we can make a much needed change to our perceptions about love, sex, and relationships.

Penthouse, Hustler Magazines up in Arms over ‘Mormon War on Porn’

Pornography is, as I have stated several times, undoubtedly linked to the culture of rape in schools across America. I know personally of a boy who, at the age of four, attempted to perform oral sex on another boy. He had seen it in his parents porn collection. What porn does to the adolescent and pre-adolescent mind is nothing but cultural suicide. 

Like Senator Weiler, I don't care what adults watch or look at, that is totally their responsibility to choose. But access to pornography on the internet by adolescents has to be stopped; I'm tired of girls being raped by boys and young men who think that that is what they are there for. The only way I know to stop it is to stop pornography altogether. If you have a better idea, I would love to hear it.

The July/August issue of Penthouse, a softcore porn magazine, is focused on the political power of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) in Utah, the epicenter of the Mormon religion. Entitled ‘The Shameless Issue’, it features an eight-page article with an obscene title written by Huffington Post staff writer Andy Campbell. Its subheadline is "The Mormon war on porn is coming for you."

Copies were sent to important political and religious leaders in Utah.

"We sent over the new issue to several folks in Utah, including Governor Gary Herbert, and the heads of the Church in Salt Lake City," Raphie Aronowitz, Penthouse’s editor-in-chief, said in a statement. "Since the Mormon Church brings its unsolicited moral, religious, and political values to our doorsteps, we decided to return the favor."

In March, Utah became the first state to declare porn “a public health hazard leading to a broad spectrum of individual and public health impacts and societal harms” in a concurrent resolution.

A month later, Herbert, a Republican serving his second term as governor, signed that resolution aiming to combat "a sexually toxic environment" in the Beehive State caused by porn.

The resolution, SCR 9, was introduced by state Senator Todd Weiler, a Republican and a Mormon. It recognizes both that pornography is a public health problem and “the need for education, prevention, research, and policy change at the community and societal level in order to address the pornography epidemic that is harming the people of our state and nation.”

Penthouse took issue with the declaration, blaming it on the “hyper-conservative” LDS Church.

"The Mormon Church has a long-standing tradition of repression and control over its local residents in Utah," Aronowitz said. "It has now permeated the roots of local and national politics, and influenced policy."

The Campbell piece argues that SCR 9, which does not make porn illegal, is based on faulty science and was a waste of time and energy by the state legislature.

"Nobody wants to show their young children pornography, much like nobody wants their toddler driving to preschool," the article reads. "By the same token, nobody wants their government — or that government's preferred religion — to define their sexuality. Even the LDS Church touts free agency and 'the privilege of choice which was introduced by God’."

There’s common ground between Penthouse and Weiler on that point.

"I've never pretended to ban pornography for adults. I think adults have the right to choose," Weiler told the Salt Lake Tribune. "Everything I've done with pornography has been about protecting children and, hopefully, Penthouse isn't selling their magazine to children."

No, but it is selling their magazines to fathers and boyfriends, some of whom are pretty careless about whether they are kept out of the reach of children.

Penthouse isn’t the only softcore magazine up in arms over the Mormon “war on porn.” In June, Hustler Magazine, at the behest of infamous founder Larry Flynt, also sent issues to Utah legislators… who were not amused, especially because the black, plastic-wrapped packages were sent to their homes, as opposed to their offices.

"It's highly inappropriate to send to our homes where our families and kids can see it," Representative Jake Anderegg told the Salt Lake Tribune.

Evan Roosevelt, spokesman for the Flynt Management Group, said that the magazines were supposed to go to the official mailing addresses listed on the state’s website, and were designed to send lawmakers a message that Hustler and similar media are not dangerous.

And, yet, you proved that Hustler and it's ilk are dangerous. By recklessly, if not intentionally sending the magazines to their homes you prove Senator Weiler's point. 

Were they really supposed to go to their offices? Office addresses are very easy to find for politicians and religious leaders, but home addresses would require some considerable effort to find, so, it's far more likely that they were intentionally sent to homes. This is an unfortunate example of the adolescent attitude of pornographers and reflects on their contribution to society.

"Utah, in our eyes and [Flynt's] eyes, is only dragging this out to satisfy religious zealots in the state, so we wanted to remind everyone that this is not a crisis, but a political opportunity for legislators," Roosevelt said.

The Penthouse cover features model Noelle Monique posing mostly nude in front of an American flag. Along with the piece on the Mormon war on porn, it also has an article on polygamy: ‘Sister Wives Make Sinning Hot’, the cover proclaims.
