The jury in a B.C. Supreme Court trial of a man charged with harassing and extorting teenager Amanda Todd has now reached a verdict.

It took less than two days to reach a guilty verdict for five charges.

A brief pause for the jury occurred on Saturday afternoon, as there were questions for counsel, who were summoned back into the courtroom.

The jury reached their verdict only two hours after the break.

Aydin Coban, (World Class Creep) 44, pleaded not guilty to five charges, including possession of child pornography, extortion, criminal harassment and communication with a young person to commit a sexual offence.

The jury found him guilty on all five counts.

Justice Martha Devlin provided instructions to the jury before deliberations began, telling them to take “special care” with the statements given by Amanda Todd before her death.

Devlin said because Todd died in October 2012 and therefore did not testify or face cross-examination by Aydin Coban’s lawyers, the jury needs to be aware of the limitations of evidence given.

Jury members were told to carefully examine the statements Todd gave to her parents, police officers and in her electronic communications when they considered Coban’s verdict.

The trial hinged on the identity of what the Crown has called the “sextortionist” that used 22 online aliases to sexually blackmail Todd over four “episodes” before she took her life in 2012.

The Crown’s theory is built on two propositions: that one person operated all of the accounts, and that the one person is Coban.

Aydin Coban, (World Class Creep)
However, defence lawyer Joseph Saulnier told the 12-member jury that evidence from the two drives tells a different story.

Facebook records for several of the aliases presented at trial showed the extortionist using operating systems and Internet browsers through 2012 and into late 2013 that were not found on either hard drive, he told the court.

“This is a significant hole in Crown’s theory,” he said. “This is actually evidence of people accessing these Facebook accounts from other devices, from other computers … evidence of other people using these Facebook accounts.”

The trial heard evidence Coban worked as a “computer guy,” who repaired computers and replaced hard drives.

The Crown has argued Coban was the sole owner and operator of the two hard drives, and that while he may have had a job “swapping out hard drives,” it wouldn’t explain their repeated connection to other devices he owned.

“The evidence was not just that Mr. Coban had only swapped out hard drives and that’s all he did… he repaired computers, he was a computer guy,” Saulnier said.

“It does make sense that Mr. Coban, if he’s looking at someone else’s device, he’s going to connect it to something.”

Todd was 15 years old when she died by suicide in 2012 after posting a video that described being tormented by an online harasser. Since her death, millions of people have watched the video.

Coban was extradited from the Netherlands to Canada in 2020.

UK: Police watchdog claims it can’t figure out why cops

dropped investigation into Muslim rape gangs

AUG 8, 2022 4:00 PM
BY ROBERT SPENCER

The reason why is blazingly obvious:  it was fear of charges of “racism” and “Islamophobia” that led British authorities to allow the Muslim rape gangs to continue operating with impunity. And now it is those same fears of charges of “racism” and “Islamophobia” that led the IOPC to be unable to figure out why the investigation was dropped. British officials know who their new master are, and they’re determined not to anger them.

The answer was obvious back in 2015 from several blog posts. Here is just one of them.

“It’s a Mystery: Police Watchdog Claims It Can’t Find Out

Why Cops Dropped Investigation Into ‘Asian’ Rape Gangs,”

by Jack Montgomery, Breitbart,
August 6, 2022:

The official police watchdog has claimed, after two years of investigation, that is has been unable to find out why Greater Manchester Police (GMP) dropped an inquiry into ‘Asian’ rape gangs that identified almost 100 suspects.

The Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC), which is supposed to invigilate law enforcement in England and Wales, launched an investigation into three Mancunian officers following the publication of a grooming gangs inquiry commissioned by city mayor Andy Burnham which — like other inquiries before it — found that council officials, social workers, and police officers had failed the mostly white victims of mostly Muslim, South Asian heritage grooming gang rapists, in part due to politically correct fears around the issue.

However, the watchdog has now discontinued its investigations into the trio, referred to them by GMP after the Burnham-ordered inquiry, and claimed it has been “unable to determine” why a police inquiry into grooming gangs, Operation Augusta, was shut down despite having identified 57 victims and 97 potential suspects.

“Despite significant efforts, we were unable to determine who took the final decision to close Operation Augusta in July 2005, nor the rationale for doing so,”
the IOPC said of the inquiry, which was launched in 2004 after 15-year-old rape gang victim Victoria Agoglia, who reported being sexually abused and injected with heroin to the authorities but was not helped, died of an overdose.

Steve Noonan, Director of Major Investigations at the IOPC, said that his organisation had “gathered and reviewed a significant amount of evidence, which helped us understand some of the actions taken” but that, ultimately, they were “not able to locate evidence showing who took the decision to close Operation Augusta and, more importantly, why."

The simple solution is to charge the highest ranking person that was in charge of the investigation. If he isn't responsible, he will probably reveal who is. But that's not going to happen as we have yet another British police whitewash. It seems British cops and politicians have a really low regard for their constituents, and absolutely no regard for young British white girls.

Surely, nobody can be that stupid that they can't figure out why the inquiry was shut down. It seems everyone in the world knows except the police.

Indeed, Breitbart London contacted the then-five contenders to succeed Boris Johnson as Tory leader and Prime Minister in July after Labour councillors blocked a call from Tory councillors for an inquiry into grooming gangs in Oldham to ask if they would commission one, and not one of them responded.

Orban blasts Dutch ‘colonial’ mentality after Rutte tells

Hungarian PM to respect LGBTQ+ or leave the EU

The Hungarian prime minister has issued a stern rebuke of his Dutch counterpart, telling Amsterdam to keep out of Hungarian politics after criticizing Budapest’s move to prevent the portrayal of homosexuality to minors.

Speaking to public radio on Friday, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban hit back at Dutch PM Mark Rutte and his “colonial” mentality, after he told Budapest to respect LGBTQ+ rights or leave the European Union.

“This is a colonial approach,” Orban stated, adding, “they just give no thought to what they can and cannot say about another nation and the laws of another country.”

Last week, Rutte, during an EU summit, challenged Orban to leave the European bloc, noting that Budapest’s policies and perspectives were clearly not in line with Brussels. Hungary “has no business being in the European Union any more,” Rutte stated, adding it was their intention to bring Budapest to its knees on LGBTQ+ rights.

The Dutch PM’s comments follow the passing of a new law in Hungary on June 15. While the law appears to focus on increasing punishment for convicted pedophiles, it also stipulates that homosexuality cannot be portrayed or promoted to under-18s.

Orban claims that the law is misunderstood, stating: “This is not against homosexuality. It’s about the right of the kids and the parents.”

Other leaders have joined the condemnation of Orban, but have stopped short of demanding Hungary leave the EU. French President Emmanuel Macron said the EU could use the judicial powers available to it to punish Hungary but said he didn’t want to use Article 50 (initiating an exclusion from the EU).

Orban’s Hungary has long been at loggerheads with the EU. Earlier in 2021, with tensions rising, Budapest elected to take the European Commission to court over a stipulation linking access to European funds with upholding the rule of law.

I invite you to read a brilliant article by a Norwegian professor re: LGBTQ and Foreign Policy. It is the last story on the link.

Housing trans women convicted of sexual offences in female prisons

is lawful, England’s High Court rules

The government’s policy of housing transgender women, including those with convictions for violent or sexual offences, in female prisons in England and Wales is lawful, the High Court in London ruled on Friday.

The judge rejected claims that jailing transgender sexual or violent offenders with cisgender women was discriminatory.

A female inmate, known as FDJ, launched legal action against the Ministry of Justice after claiming she had been sexually assaulted by a trans woman at HMP Bronzefield near London in 2017.

The alleged attacker, who had a gender recognition certificate (GRC), had previous convictions including manslaughter and attempted rape.

The ministry defended its policy, saying that it was necessary for “facilitating the rights of transgender people to live in and as their acquired gender (and) protecting transgender people’s mental and physical health.”

But, apparently, it is not necessary to facilitate the rights of normal women!

In his judgement on Friday, Lord Justice Holroyde said he accepted that female prisoners may suffer “fear and anxiety” if forced to share a cell with a transgender woman with male genitalia, especially one with violent convictions.

However, he said that in the existing policies, the “need to assess and manage all risks is repeatedly emphasised.”

So why don't you assess the risks to normal women housed with rapists?

He added that the exclusion of all trans women from women’s prisons would be to “ignore, impermissibly, the rights of transgender women to live in their chosen gender.”

Good grief! How about trans women living in women's prisons if all their male appendages are removed?

The court heard that in 2019 there were 34 transgender inmates in women’s prisons who had been convicted of one or more sexual offences.

Other data read out included that between 2016 and 2019 some 97 sexual assaults were recorded in women’s prisons, seven of which were committed by transgender prisoners without a GRC.

It is not known if there were any committed by trans women with a GRC, the judgment noted.

Arrrrgh! It's known for sure that there was at least one!!!

Women’s prisons in England and Wales can house people born male who identify as female, even if they haven’t undergone gender reassignment or do not possess a GRC.

The claimant, FDJ, said she was “disappointed” with the ruling, adding that trans women with violent convictions should not be in a situation where they can endanger women.

In my humble opinion, Lord Justice Holroyde is a complete idiot!

For all the trouble Trump went through to get right-leaning judges on the Supreme Court bench, it doesn't seem to have done any good whatsoever.

US Supreme Court refuses to hear LGBTQ rights case involving businesses

that refuse to cater for same-sex weddings

The US Supreme Court has passed on hearing a case that would have settled whether businesses are entitled to refuse services for same-sex marriages on religious or free speech grounds.

Declining to consider the appeal brought by a Washington state florist, the Supreme Court on Friday deferred to earlier state court rulings on the case.

In 2013, Barronelle Stutzman refused to provide flowers for the same-sex wedding of two male customers because it violated her “relationship with Jesus Christ.” The couple took her to court over the matter, and state judges ruled that she had broken a law prohibiting businesses from discriminating against people due to their sexual orientation.

The Washington Supreme Court backed that decision, by claiming that providing flowers for a marriage ceremony “does not inherently express a message about that wedding.”

Decorating cakes is an art-form which usually requires some inspiration. Finding inspiration in something that God calls debauchery is not going to happen to a Christian. All the judges involved in these cases are pathetic.

The decision by America’s highest court not to take Stutzman’s appeal is the second time in recent years where the Supreme Court avoided the thorny issue of the balance between protecting individuals from discrimination and upholding rights enshrined in the Constitution.

Three years ago, the Supreme Court declined to address similar concerns when it ruled that a Colorado bakery could not be forced to create a cake for a same-sex wedding. The 7-2 decision in favor the baker only addressed the facts of his specific case, rather than the larger issue concerning religious or free speech objections to serving certain people or groups.

Prior to the Supreme Court’s refusal to hear the case, Stutzman’s lawyers argued that “these First Amendment violations must stop” and that the justices should rule that “religious people should be free to live out their beliefs.” The American Civil Liberties Union, representing Washington state, argued that providing services to same-sex marriages does infringe upon individual rights, as business owners do not have to participate in or endorse the ceremonies.

How can they create a cake or a flower setting without participating in the ceremonies? How stupid is that?

Dad Horrified as Public School Convinces Daughter She’s a ‘Boy’…and He Can’t Stop It

Jonathon Van Maren
LifeSite News

Over the past several years of writing on the subject of the transgender phenomenon, I’ve received many phone calls and emails from despairing parents. The details are always different, but the stories are always very much the same: Their child, often struggling with body image issues, autism, or mental illness, was persuaded by peers and the public school establishment that he or she—usually she—was transgender. Other possibilities are almost always rejected, and often the parents face threats from the school authorities or social services for not being “affirming” enough of their child’s desire to switch genders. The results are always heartbreaking.

One recent example was detailed this month in USA Today by Jay Keck, a suburban dad who lives just outside of Chicago. His nightmare began in April of 2016, when his 14-year-old daughter became convinced that she was in fact a boy—with the staff of the public school in Hinsdale District #86 emphatically endorsing this delusion and opposing Keck’s attempts to help his daughter every step of the way. In fact, the teenage girl, who had shown no indication of gender dysphoria or a desire to be male throughout her childhood, is on the autism spectrum—a fact her school ignored when she declared herself to be transgender after beginning to hang out with another girl who professed to be a "boy" trapped in a female body.

Keck’s daughter chose a male name, and the school staff—“who had full knowledge of her mental health challenges”—began using that name without telling either Keck or his wife. They began to treat the teenage girl as a male, referring to her as “he” and “him,” and when her parents finally discovered what was going on and requested that their daughter be referred to by her legal name, they ignored their wishes. When challenged, the assistant superintendent of the school district claimed that this was because they were simply following the law, but as Keck pointed out, there was no such law, only a 2016 directive from the Obama administration “that said schools need to officially affirm transgender students”—guidelines that were blocked by a judge that same year and rolled back by the Trump administration in 2017.

Things soon got even worse. As Keck described it:

My daughter told me that the school social worker was advising her about halfway houses because he thought we did not support her. The social worker confirmed this when I scheduled a meeting with him to discuss it. This felt like a horrifying attempt to encourage our daughter to run away from home.

We had our daughter evaluated by a psychologist approved by the school district. He told us that it was very clear that our daughter’s sudden transgender identity was driven by her underlying mental health conditions, but would only share his thoughts off the record because he feared the potential backlash he would receive. In the report he submitted to us and the school, he did not include these concerns that he would only share in person.

In my attempts over the past several years to get help for my daughter, what I have learned has shocked me.

The National Education Association has partnered with the Human Rights Campaign and other groups to produce materials advocating automatic affirmation of identities, name changes and pronouns, regardless of parents’ concerns. In 18 states and the District of Columbia, including in my home state of Illinois, there are “conversion therapy” bans, which prevent therapists from questioning a child’s gender identity. No wonder my daughter’s therapist would only speak to me off the record.

Some agencies, like the New Jersey Department of Education, warn school districts to “be mindful of disputes” between children and their parents over gender identity. The department's “Transgender Student Guidance” document refers educators to the state’s "Child Abuse, Neglect, and Missing Children" webpage, suggesting that school staff might be encouraged to report parents if they disagree with their child transitioning.

In short: the introduction of transgender curriculum in public schools is quite literally resulting in the recruitment of children to the transgender cause, introducing confusion that is having predictable but devastating effects. Parents are often afraid to speak out, and professionals often decline to state their actual analysis on the record for fear of being attacked by the LGBT mob. As a result children and teenagers are being given so-called “treatments” that are blocking puberty—and some are even getting mastectomies and orchiectomies (which consist of the surgical removal of the testicles.) The results are irreversible.

School officials are determined to cut parents who are desperate to help their children out of the equation—when Keck and his wife requested that her legal name be used at graduation, the school rejected this and used a male name, instead.

“Now, thanks in large part to my daughter’s school, my daughter is more convinced than ever that she is a boy and that testosterone may be necessary for her to become her authentic self,” Keck wrote. “She turned 18 in late June and life-altering, dangerous testosterone injections are just one ‘informed consent form’ away. She can turn to any one of Illinois’s 17 Planned Parenthood clinics for cheap and easy access. No extensive mental health assessment will be required, and there will be nothing I can do to stop her.”

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again: The transgender phenomenon is destroying children and teens, and there will be much suffering in the years ahead as boys and girls grow up to grapple with the permanent decisions that adults are facilitating and enabling. In the meantime, if your children are in public school, pull them out—now. You won’t regret it. Our public schools are now the ground zero of a grand cultural experiment, and children are the guinea pigs. Make sure that your children are safe.

There is already much suffering happening as suicide attempts by transgender youth is sky-rocketing. Not because they are bullied, but because they eventually realize they made a colossal mistake and have no way to correct it.

#PCMadness Machine Stomps on Mario Lopez

Actor Mario Lopez CANCELED by PC police for saying
3-year-olds can’t decide their own gender

©  Reuters / Tim Shaffer

Mario Lopez is feeling the wrath of the outrage brigade after suggesting that kids as young as three years-old shouldn’t be deciding their own gender. He was instantly pronounced “dead” by those for whom PC culture is a religion.

Lopez made the comments on conservative YouTube host Candace Owens’ show back in June, but it took the usually hyper-vigilant PC police more than a month to notice them. Well, now that they have, it looks like no bell can save Lopez, with social media lit up with criticism of his “transphobia,” for which he was summarily “canceled” in the eyes of many liberal tweeters. The entertainer was forced to apologize on Wednesday, telling NBC his comments were “ignorant and insensitive.”

What a shame. His comments were sensitive and true. His critics are ignorant and insensitive to the well-being, indeed, even the lives of children.

Mario Lopez: maybe don’t let 3 year olds “decide” their gender

Twitter: he’s cancelled, he hates the LGBT community, he eats babies and drowns puppies for a living

What did Lopez actually say to cause such outrage?

The actor and host said he was “trying to understand” why some parents support their extremely young children’s pronouncements that they are a different gender and that he was “blown away” by adults letting kids as young as three years-old declare themselves a different sex.

Lopez did not launch into a hate-filled tirade against transgender individuals, but simply said toddlers might be too young to understand the full implication of what they are saying. The actor prefaced the comment by saying he didn’t want to “tell anyone how to parent their kids” but said in his opinion it was just far too early to make such a big decision.

At 3, children don't even understand the difference between fantasy and reality. It appears many adults have the same problem.

My God, if you're three years old and you’re saying you’re
feeling a certain way or you think you’re a boy or a girl or
whatever the case may be, I just think it’s dangerous as a
parent to make this determination.

Owens, who regularly stokes controversy in the media for a variety of other reasons, agreed, arguing that sometimes three-year-olds believe they are mermaids or princesses and that oftentimes they will be going through a phase that they grow out of. Yet, some modern parents take this as their cue to whisk the child off to a doctor for hormone injections and surgical intervention.

Studies report 60-95% of gender-confused children normalize after puberty. Treating children before puberty with puberty blockers may prevent that normalization from happening.

The only arguably controversial thing Lopez did in the interview was to briefly equate a child’s announcement about its gender as something to do with its “sexuality” – which isn’t the same thing, since a person who identifies as transgender isn’t necessarily confused about their sexuality.

So a person can look down at their male appendages, decide they are a female, and there is no confusion?

There was even a call for Warner Bros. which distributes the Extra entertainment show co-hosted by Lopez to “hold him accountable” for his “gross” actions.

Mario Lopez said it’s “dangerous” for 1. parents to support their trans kids and 2. to believe women who come forward with accusations of sexual misconduct. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/mario-lopez-candace-owens-parents-transgender-kids-dangerous-200050915.html …

It was a double whammy of condemnation for Lopez, however, because he also criticized the #MeToo era and the #BelieveWomen movement. He said it was “dangerous” to believe every accuser, no questions asked, because it is possible that on occasion a woman might conceivably lie about assault or sexual misconduct – another apparently indefensible position which earned Lopez the title of “misogynist” to go with “transphobe.”

As for Lopez’s comments on transgender kids, they are actually backed up by doctors on both sides of the Atlantic, who recently warned about the potential negative consequences of pumping kids full of hormones and early gender re-assignment surgeries instead of adopting a wait-and-see approach, in case the child changes its mind (which studies have shown is often the case.) In fact, usually the case!

One whistleblower, a National Health Service (NHS) psychologist who’d previously worked at Britain’s only child gender clinic, warned that doctors were worried about being labeled “transphobic” if they looked too deeply into each case to find possible psychological reasons, including past abuse, which might explain a child’s feelings.

For instance, a girl might see that her brother is treated better than she, so she may decide to be a boy. This has happened!

If medical experts and whistleblowers are branded transphobic for urging caution around the issue of trans-identified kids, then an actor like Lopez has no hope.

Danielle Ryan is an Irish freelance writer based in Dublin.

Danielle, unfortunately, did not mention the extraordinary rate of attempted suicide among transgenders. Studies report 35->40%, as opposed to <2% in general society. Recent numbers from the UK where an astonishing number of young girls are wanting to trans, show that of those girls who do trans to boys, the attempted suicide rate is more than 50%.

PCMadness Fueling Spectacular Rise in Children Seeking Transgender Treatment

'Some are confused, some are trapped in the wrong body'
Astonishing 50 kids a week referred to sex change clinics

The growing acceptance of gender issues may have fueled the rise in the number of children being referred, experts believe

By Martin Bagot Health And Science Correspondent
The Mirror

Fifty a week are being sent to see specialists because they are unhappy with the body they were born in, figures obtained by the Mirror show (Image: E+)

A record 50 children a week are being referred to gender realignment doctors.

Kids aged just four are among those believing they want to change their sex.

One specialist said: “This is a massive increase.”

The growing acceptance of gender issues may have fuelled the rise in the number of children being referred, experts believe.

Fifty a week are being sent to see specialists because they are unhappy with the body they were born in, figures obtained by the Mirror show.

Those aged 11 or over may be treated with powerful hormones to prevent them going through puberty.

Once they reach a more mature age they can decide whether they still want to go ahead with gender realignment.

If they do, girls are given testosterone and boys oestrogen to trigger the change.

Gender dysphoria expert Professor Ashley Grossman insists this puberty blocking treatment “does not harm children” but gives them extra time to make the crucial decision.

The Oxford University endocrinologist said: “Many of these children have very mild gender dysphoria and are not very happy in their gender but puberty is a very confusing time. Others are clearly trapped in the wrong body.

“We have used these treatments for children who, for whatever reason, start puberty early, some as young as seven which can be very distressing.

“These drugs just buy them another couple of years before they decide to do anything permanent.

“They can then get to the age of 16 or 17 and say, ‘Things are starting to sort themselves out, I want to go through puberty.’ Others do not.

“There is a bit of a call from the public that they are being over-diagnosed and people get disturbed about medicating children but with puberty blockers they are not being treated, just given time.

“There are no legal restrictions but I would feel very uncomfortable about giving a child hormones to change their gender or sex before they are mature.”

The number of children visiting Britain’s specialist clinic the Gender Identity Development Service, hosted by the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust in London, has risen by 24% to 1,302 in the past six months.

Among them were two children aged four, four five-year-olds and 17 kids of six.

In 2016/17 there were 2,016 children referred to the clinic. This is on track to rise
in 2017/18 to 2,600.
In 2009 there were 97.

Prof Grossman said: “This is a massive increase. We don’t know whether this is a true increase or that these kids in the past just didn’t know this service existed.

“I only deal with adult patients but the majority tell me they realised they had gender problems when they were young but hadn’t seen a medical professional until an adult. There is more realisation now.”

GIDS director and clinical psychologist Dr Polly Carmichael added: “There is no single explanation for the increase.

“But we do know there has been significant progress towards the acceptance and recognition of transgender and gender diverse people in our society, coupled with greater knowledge about specialist gender clinics and support available.”

They have ignored the fact that transgendering is a huge fad on social media among teens and pre-teens. Someone who lets out that they are curious about the idea, almost instantly becomes very popular.

Around 40% of children who attend GIDS are prescribed puberty blocking drugs. But gender expert Professor Miroslav Djordjevic suggested the rise could be in part a fad among parents who indulge their children.

He said: “I cannot believe the 50 a week will all be transgender. We’re seeing a lot of parents who come for help because they are not sure if there children are transgender or just being children,

“To say a girl of five is transgender is impossible. But it is easier to ask than not do anything and children suffer. At the minute it’s something like a fashion.

“And of course there is a danger children could regret having treatment.”

And there is good reason to believe that many, if not most do regret the treatment. The general attempted suicide rate among transgenders exceeds 35% - 20 times the rate of non-trans people. Among young women transitioning to men, it is more than 50%.

The reason for this psychological trauma (35% attempted suicide rate) can be found in marks made by Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital, who said in a commentary in the Wall Street Journal in 2015 that transgenderism is a “mental disorder” that merits treatment, that sex change is “biologically impossible,” and that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are collaborating with and promoting a mental disorder.

McHugh also reported on a then-current study showing that the suicide rate among transgendered people who had reassignment surgery is 20 times higher than the suicide rate among non-transgender people. The transgendered person’s disorder, said McHugh, is in the person’s “assumption” that they are different than the physical reality of their body, their maleness or femaleness, as assigned by nature. It is a disorder similar to a “dangerously thin” person suffering anorexia who looks in the mirror and thinks they are “overweight,” said McHugh.

Dr Miriam Stoppard believes the rise reflects “parental concern” about their children’s wishes.

(Image: Daily Mirror)

She added: “We have to understand the importance of not consigning someone to a gender they feel they aren’t, by letting them go through puberty. That’s inhuman and inhumane. The first prerequisite for a child with gender dysphoria is to have parents on their side.

Approximately 85% of gender confused kids normalize after puberty. Puberty blockers may prevent that normalization from happening. That is genuinely inhumane!

“This is an important driver of the increased numbers. No parent can bear their child to be stuck in a gender no man’s land.

“I’m sure the universal acceptance of LGBTQ pioneers has helped legitimise and publicise gender dysphoria and its treatment.”

Singer Paloma Faith has told how she is bringing her first child up as gender neutral. The 36-year-old refuses to reveal the sex of her baby, born in December. She said: “I want three kids and they’ll be gender neutral.”

Good grief! Those poor children!

My child, 8, goes to school as a girl. It is not 'just a phase'

A mum whose eight-year-old child started school as a girl has called for more investment in gender realignment clinics.

Tegan Dyason, born as Tom, has been wearing girls’ clothes since the age of three and began visiting gender specialists last year. Her mum Michelle has called for people to accept it is “not just a phase”.

She has welcomed news more children have been referred for treatment and called for even more to be spent.

“I have spoken to a lot of parents but the majority are on waiting lists to get in to clinics,” she said. “We need more investment in these medical services.

“We were lucky, we got seen quickly, but there’s more children and teenagers experiencing gender issues and, more than anything for the children’s safety, money is needed to make sure they are being dealt with as intensely as they need to be.

“I would hate to see them starting to rush people through. I think that’s when mistakes could be made.” Tegan will have years of assessment before she is old enough to be considered for medical intervention at puberty.

'I regret treatment... giving it to kids could be perpetuating a great harm'

A woman who began treatment to become a man and later regretted it has warned against letting young children have such procedures.

Kate, 30, who spoke on condition of anonymity, injected herself with hormones, causing her voice to drop and facial hair to grow. She gave up after deciding she was not transgender.

The medical student, who started her treatment in her early 20s, said she felt encouraged to do so after visiting online forums. She said: “I’m very concerned that if I was a teenager now or even younger, I or my parents would be pushed to consider me then as transgender. I would have welcomed that at the time.

“I wanted to be a boy when I was younger because boys were allowed to be assertive and confident.

“A young person may now take hormones or have surgery and later regret it. By giving treatment to children we may be perpetrating a great harm.”

Kate said only last year did she become comfortable as a female. She said her deeper voice and facial hair are a constant reminder of how “misguided” she was.

Four careful stages that lead to body's final change

The Gender Identity Development Service is seen as a world leading centre for treatment of dysphoria. It adopts a “staged model of care” to guard against children taking steps to change their sex and then regretting it.

Kids as young as three are offered counselling along with their parents when they first present at the clinic. This can last for years. Assessments are done around self-harm and suicide risk. Just before puberty the patient can be prescribed hormone blockers.

The full psychological effects of these drugs, or whether
they alter the development of the brain, is unknown.

But, what the Hell, let's give it to them anyway
- they're just kids!!!!!!!!!

But they allow the youngster time to explore their developing gender identity with a team of specialists.

The third stage, from age 16, is to prescribe either oestrogen or testosterone after a minimum of 12 months on hormone blockers.

This can cause irreversible changes to the body such as growth of breast tissues. Doctors require the person to be in education or employment in their preferred gender role.

Stage four is surgery to change the sexual organs.

Jordan Peterson: Gender Politics has No Place in the Classroom

A six-year-old girl became confused about her identity after an Ottawa teacher taught her class that 'girls are not real and boys are not real'

National Post
Jordan Peterson

Back in September of 2016, I released three videos, expressing my concern about Bill C-16, which was then under consideration by the federal government, following the passage of similar legislation in a number of provinces. C-16 purported to merely add “gender identity” and “gender expression” to the list of prohibited grounds of discrimination. However, it was embedded in a web of policy, much of it created by the Ontario Human Rights Commission, which indicated that the bill comprised the tip of a very large iceberg. I was particularly upset with the insistence that failure to use the “preferred pronouns” chosen by individuals whose gender-related identity did not fit neatly, according to their personal judgement, into the standard categories of boy and girl or man and woman would now become an offence punishable by law.

Worse is the insistence characteristic of the bill, the policies associated with it, and the tenth-rate academic dogmas driving the entire charade, that “identity” is something solely determined by the individual in question (whatever that identity might be). Even sociologists (neither the older, classical, occasionally useful type, nor the modern, appalling, and positively counterproductive type) don’t believe this. They understand that identity is a social role, which means that it is by necessity socially negotiated. And there’s a reason for this. An identity — a role — is not merely what you think you are, moment to moment, or year by year, but, as the Encyclopedia Britannica has it (specifically within its sociology section), “a comprehensive pattern of behavior that is socially recognized, providing a means of identifying and placing an individual in society,” also serving “as a strategy for coping with recurrent situations and dealing with the roles of others (e.g., parent-child roles).”

Your identity is not the clothes you wear, or the fashionable sexual preference or behaviour you adopt and flaunt, or the causes driving your activism, or your moral outrage at ideas that differ from yours: properly understood, it’s a set of complex compromises between the individual and society as to how the former and the latter might mutually support one another in a sustainable, long-term manner. It’s nothing to alter lightly, as such compromise is very difficult to attain, constituting as it does the essence of civilization itself, which took eons to establish, and understanding, as we should, that the alternative to the adoption of socially-acceptable roles is conflict — plain, simple and continual, as well as simultaneously psychological and social.

To the degree that identity is not biological (and much, but not all of it is), then it’s a drama enacted in the world of other people. An identity provides rules for social interactions that everyone understands; it provides generic but vitally necessary direction and purpose in life. If you’re a child, and you’re playing a pretend game with your friends, you negotiate your identity, so the game can be properly played. You do the same in the real world, whether you are a child, an adolescent, or an adult. To refuse to engage in the social aspect of identity negotiation — to insist that what you say you are is what everyone must accept — is simply to confuse yourself and everyone else (as no one at all understands the rules of your game, not least because they have not yet been formulated).

Your identity is not the clothes you wear, or the fashionable sexual preference or behaviour you adopt and flaunt, or the causes driving your activism, or your moral outrage at ideas that differ from yours

The continually expanded plethora of “identities” recently constructed and provided with legal status thus consist of empty terms which (1) do not provide those who claim them with any real social role or direction; (2) confuse all who must deal with the narcissism of the claimant, as the only rule that can exist in the absence of painstakingly, voluntarily and mutually negotiated social role is “it’s morally wrong to say or do anything that hurts my feelings”; (3) risks generating psychological chaos among the vast majority of individuals exposed to the doctrines that insist that identity is essentially fluid and self-generating (and here I’m primarily concerned about children and adolescents whose standard or normative identity has now merely become one personal choice among a near-infinite array of ideologically and legally defined modes of being), and (4) poses a further and unacceptably dangerous threat to the stability of the nuclear family, which consists, at minimum, of a dyad, male and female, coming together primarily for the purposes of raising children in what appears to be the minimal viable social unit (given the vast and incontrovertible body of evidence that fatherlessness, in particular, is associated with heightened risk for criminality, substance abuse, and poorly regulated sexual behaviour among children, adolescents and the adults that they eventually become).

So why bring all this up again? This week, journalist Barbara Kay released a story on The Post Millennial website about an application filed before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario by the parents of a six year girl, “N,” who was made subject to the new tenets of gender identity theory by her hypothetically well-meaning elementary school teacher at Devonshire Community Public School (Ottawa-Carleton District School Board). According to Kay’s account, the teacher insisted to the children that “there is no such thing as girls and boys,” and “girls are not real and boys are not real.” In consequence, “N” began to manifest substantial confusion about her identity. She asked her parents why her existence as a girl was not real. She asked to see a doctor for an opinion. She became unsettled about the reality of her biological existence. Her concern persisted over a three-month period — a long time in the life of a young person.

Consider this: At the tender age of six, “N” was being required, first, to question an identity she had spent continual and effortful time developing since (at minimum) the age of two — learning the rules she understood to be generically appropriate for her role, so that she knew how to fit in, play her part, get along, refrain from violating the expectations of her peers and the adults she interacted with, and planning, as best as she could, her course through life as a female. Second, she was being required to question what constitutes “real” — because if you are six, and you’re a girl, and you know it (and so does everyone else), and you are now being told that none of that is “real,” then the whole idea of reality becomes shaky and unstable. The seriousness of the philosophical and psychological confusion that such demands are capable of generating should not be underestimated.

The seriousness of the philosophical and psychological confusion that such demands are capable of generating should not be underestimated

I can barely envision a pedagogical strategy less conducive to stable early childhood development, particularly for a thoughtful child, which is exactly what “N” seems to be — much to her detriment, in this situation. Trusting her teacher, as she apparently did, “N” listened to her lessons and tried to think through what the complicated and internally contradictory mess of information she was presented with might actually signify — and failing, as was inevitable, because there is nothing that it signifies that is reasonable, logical, practical, or true. No matter: “gender fluidity” is school board policy, even for six-year olds, and the distress of a perfectly normal child at the lessons is a price well worth paying to ensure that ideological purity, no matter how counterproductive and absurd, is stringently maintained. Better the child suffers than the teacher thinks. Better the entire educational system reformulates itself around the new dogma (and to hell with the possibility that the experiment might go wrong) than the ideologues governing its structure question their absurd and fundamentally resentful presumptions.

Despite discussing their concerns with the school principal, the superintendent of the school board, and the curriculum superintendent, the parents allege that all these authorities refused to agree to “communicate with parents when sensitive discussions took place” (remember, these are six year olds) and would not issue any directive or take any corrective action “to ensure that children of female gender identity were positively affirmed.” “N’s” parents have since moved their child to another school where the same absolutely inexcusable foolishness has not yet repeated itself. And now we’re going to find out — courtesy of the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal (an organization in which I could hardly have less faith and which should be abolished as soon as possible) — whether little girls have the right to maintain their normative, common, practical and realistic world-view and opinion of their own bodies, or whether that is trumped administratively and legally by the existence of the incoherent set of rights inexcusably and forcibly granted to the tiny minority of people who insist that their “identities” are entirely self-generated and absolutely inviolate socially and legally. I would place a strong bet on the latter, and I think the fact that it’s come to that is to our great collective shame and danger.

The silence of the majority on such issues — driven, I think, by fear of the purposeful and genuinely dangerous social alienation likely to be generated in the wake of any given individual’s objections (regardless of how representative of the majority those objections happen to be) — will, in my opinion, generate a state of affairs among our children and adolescents that we will come in the decades to follow to deeply and profoundly regret.

Gender Fluidity Taught in Grade One Leads to Law Suit

Ontario family files human rights complaint after six-year-old girl upset by gender theory in school
By Barbara Kay
The Post Millennial

The following story has its source in an application filed before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario by Jason and Pamela Buffone, on behalf of their daughter “N,” against the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board for discrimination on the basis of gender and gender identity in contravention of the Human Rights Code.

In January of 2018, in a Grade One class at Devonshire Community Public School, part of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board network, six-year-old N watched a YouTube video as part of her teacher’s lesson plan on gender.

N is the kind of child, her mother Pamela told me in a telephone interview, that adores school—or did until the particular morning that prompted this column. The video was entitled, “He, She and They?!?—Gender: Queer Kid Stuff #2.” The video contained statements such as, “some people aren’t boys or girls,” and that there are people who do not “feel like a ‘she’ or a ‘he,’” and therefore might not have a gender. The young teacher, whom I will refer to by her initials, JB, continued to teach gender theory throughout the semester. According to N’s feedback to her mother, JB told the children that “there is no such thing as girls and boys,” and “girls are not real and boys are not real.”

By mid-March, N’s parents could see the lessons were having an impact on their daughter, as she began spontaneously and repeatedly asking them why her identity as a girl was “not real.” She asked if she could “go to a doctor” about the fact that she was a girl. She said she was “not sure if she wanted to be a mommy.” (Ms Buffone explained to N that grown-up women had a choice, but was concerned that the subject was coming up in Grade One gender lessons.)

The Buffones were naturally alarmed by their daughter’s persisting signs of confusion, as she had never previously shown a single sign of discontent regarding her biological reality. Ms Buffone therefore met with JB in March to discuss the impact of the gender discussions on her daughter.

JB, they could see, was very committed to the teaching of gender fluidity as a reflection of “a change within society.” She told Ms Buffone that gender fluidity was the School Board policy, that some children are struggling with the idea that gender is binary and confirmed that the topic of sex change had come up for discussion. She did not appear unduly concerned about N’s personal distress, and did nothing to affirm N’s female identity.

The Buffones then contacted the school principal, Julie Derbyshire.

In a telephone call, Ms Buffone says, Ms Derbyshire explained that JB had initiated the lessons to accommodate a child in the class who had expressed interest in self-expression as the opposite sex. (There was in fact a child exhibiting symptoms of gender dysphoria in Grade One of that school, who was being teased on that account. But, according to Ms Buffone, as she later learned, the parents of the child did not want the issue to be addressed by lessons on gender; they merely wanted the other children to be taught to act respectfully and not to bully their child.) Ms Derbyshire did not offer to consult with the school’s “gender specialist” about affirmation of non-questioning students like N.

Determined to elicit a response that addressed the issue substantively, the Buffones pressed on, eventually meeting with the Superintendent of the School Board and the Curriculum Superintendent. According to the complaint, “The School Board did not agree to communicate with parents when sensitive discussions took place, nor did they agree to issue any directive or take corrective action in order to ensure that children of female gender identity were positively affirmed.”

At this point, feeling stonewalled at every step of the hierarchical ladder from bottom to top, the Buffones made the decision to enrol N at another school where, Ms Buffone tells me, she is doing well and where, she has told her family, she is happy she will not have a teacher who says that “girls are not real.” Last October, N reportedly told her mother, “This table is real, and this fan is real, and even if the fan was made out of cardboard, it’s still real.”

Stories related to gender identity in childhood usually have for their protagonist a child who is distressed over the disparity between her or his biological reality and their perceived gender. The scenario often presents educators as enlightened, affirming allies of the child, while the parents, behind the times, so to speak, resist affirmation and cause the child further anxiety. In these cases the injustice to the child seems pretty clear cut to many rights-attuned Canadians. The child’s right to express his or her gender identity trumps the parents’ right to oppose it.

Here we have the opposite case. N’s gender identity is—or was—seamless comfort in her biological skin. She had never questioned that comfort. Suddenly she was told to believe that at any moment, what she believes to be real—that she is a girl—may not be true. How very frightening that thought must be to a child who is not old enough to grasp the abstract concept of gender fluidity. Her parents are the allies here, and her educational environment is where she fails to find affirmation. Why could she not be accommodated as well as the questioning child? Why did this situation have to end up at a human rights tribunal?

It wasn’t, after all, an either-or choice, and a little compromise on the part of JB and her superiors would easily have defused the situation, and alleviated the Buffones’ concern. Why couldn’t JB have explained that discomfort with one’s gender identity does occur, but rarely (fact); that it is often a passing phase (fact); that non-conforming dress and play preferences in childhood are normal and only infrequently indicative of deep or lasting dissatisfaction with one’s biological sex (fact); that most children stop having these doubts when they are teenagers (fact); most important, that almost all children are perfectly happy being exactly what they are (fact) and those children should not worry that they are not “real” boys or girls. Where was the difficulty in saying these things? N would have been reassured, and the one child in the class who was experiencing gender confusion would not have been adversely affected.

The Buffones’ HRTO application concludes that JB “subjected N to ongoing discrimination on the basis of gender and gender identity, by a series of lessons that denied the existence of the female gender and biological sex and undermined the value of identifying as a female.”; ii) “The Principal and School Board perpetuated and reinforced the discrimination that N experienced in her Grade One classroom, as neither Ms. Derbyshire nor any school board official took any corrective action to remedy it.”

Their requested remedy is that the Tribunal order the Board i) to ensure that classroom instruction “not devalue, deny, or undermine in any way the female gender identity”; ii) to mandate teachers to  “inform parents when lessons on gender identity will take place or have taken place, including the teaching objectives and the materials that will be or have been used for such lessons”; and iii) to pay the Buffones $5,000.00 in general damages “to compensate for injury to dignity, feelings and self-respect caused by the discrimination.”

The School Board’s lawyer responded to the application with a request that the application be dismissed “on the basis that the Application has no reasonable prospect for success,” denying the allegations and promising to provide a “fulsome Response should the Tribunal not dismiss this matter by way of Summary Hearing.”

Citing another complaint against the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario, the response pointed to the Tribunal’s finding that the Tribunal did “not have the power to deal with general allegations of unfairness,” and that the facts, even if true, “do not engage any prohibit (sic) ground of discrimination as set out in the [Human Rights] Code.” Also noted was the fact that teachers’ right to teach gender identity is endorsed by the Minister of Education, and that “[t]he age-appropriateness of a classroom discussion does not engage a Code-protected prohibited ground.” In short, even if N was adversely affected by the teacher’s lessons, she has no grounds for redress according to the Human Rights Code.

How will this play out?

The School Board is taking a “letter of the law” approach. They are basically stipulating that the Buffones’ account of N’s experience is factual, but irrelevant. In other words, they don’t deny the lessons had an adverse effect on the child’s psychological well-being. They are simply saying that whether or not she has been adversely affected is not, legally speaking, grounds for a human rights complaint.

But the Ontario Human Rights Commission defines “discrimination” pretty broadly. In our interview Ms Buffone told me: “The Ontario Human rights Code states that a poisoned environment is a form of discrimination. We’re going to provide evidence that the manner in which [JB] was teaching the concept of gender identity resulted in a poisoned environment. The principal further exacerbated the situation in that the only option provided to us was to remove our daughter from the classroom for these lessons, which is exclusionary treatment.”

Will this be as persuasive an argument for the HRTO as it seems to me?

“This is an important case,” says Ms Buffone. “Our government seems to have given teachers carte blanche in terms of how they teach this concept [of gender identity]. If this is an example of how it can be taught, I think it’s in the public interest for the HRTO to weigh in on it. Teachers are providing a public service and have a duty of care to all of their students, just as the HRTO has a responsibility to all of Ontarians. I think this case is a good example of why we need to set ideology aside when dealing with human rights.”

If the Buffones win their case, it will set a precedent that may have far-reaching consequences for the teaching of gender issues in Ontario’s elementary schools. The HRTO will be very conscious of the potential fallout from their decision. For that reason, the cynic in me fears the dice are loaded against the Buffones. I very much hope to be proven wrong.

I hope so too. This is incredibly important. Please pray about this issue.
