Tor (The
Onion Router) is a secret network which delivers web sites on the internet
service provider (ISP) Freedom Hosting. Tor was invented by the US Navy so
people could use the internet anonymously. Many good things have and still do
work through Tor, but then drugs are bought and sold with anonymity and, even
worse, it is used for the distribution of child pornography from pictures, to
videos to live-streaming.It appears that an American government agency has been successful in planting Malware into a browser that runs child pornography. The Malware enables its creator to identify the hostname and MAC address of the very computer on which the pornography is being watched.
This, of
course, is a small beginning, not a knockout blow to child pornography. It
involves only one browser so it will be effective for a very limited time.
Nevertheless, we can hope and pray that many perverts will be apprehended in
the next little while and that others will be much more reluctant to connect to
child porn sites.
