It's difficult to get child sex abuse data out of China because they seem to pretend that it doesn't exist. You can't talk about it in schools. One woman who did talk to a group of parents about it is now in jail.
In China, the rape of a woman is punishable by death, but the rape of a child is not called rape and is punishable by a maximum of 15 years in prison.
Girls who have been raped, no matter how young, are stigmatized. They are unlikely to find a boyfriend or husband.
There are NGOs in China advocating for sexually abused children but they are being hampered by the government which is unlikely to ever admit that there is a problem.
