One of the three people who were arrested last year in connection with what investigators described as “one of the worst cases” of child sex abuse they had encountered was sentenced to life in prison Thursday.
Terrie Sena, 43, her ex-husband, Christopher, 48, and his current wife, Debra, 50, were arrested in December after a four-month-long investigation into allegations that the trio had sexually abused at least eight children over the course of 12 years.
According to investigators, Debra Sena reported the alleged abuse by her husband to an attorney. That promoted authorities to search Christopher Sena's home.
Shortly after that, both Debra Sena and Terrie Sena were arrested. Investigators said both women claimed that Christopher Sena intimidated them and made them afraid for their lives if they didn't participate in the abuse.
All three were charged with a litany of crimes, including child abuse, incest, sex assault against a child and lewdness.
In January, Terrie Sena accepted a plea deal offered by prosecutors.
On Thursday, a judge sentenced Terrie Sena to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 10 years.
Both Christopher Sena and Debra Sena are awaiting trial.
