Wolves Among the Sheep > North Carolina Pastor fired for sexual indiscretions

North Carolina church fires pastor over admitted

sexual misconduct: 'Lord brought judgment'

Following a unanimous decision from church leadership, a North Carolina congregation fired its pastor after discovering that he engaged in sexual misconduct.

Pursuit Church of Denver announced in a letter sent to the congregation on Monday that it removed Pastor Jordan Green from his leadership position, effective immediately.

According to the letter, the decision to dismiss Green "was made swiftly after church leaders learned of situations involving Jordan Green that were in direct violation of Pursuit Church's policy regarding workplace harassment."

"We want to be clear, Jordan Green committed acts of sexual misconduct which has deeply wounded his victims, the people who call Pursuit Church home and this leadership team," stated the letter.

Green confessed to his wrongdoing last week before two church leaders, according to the letter, although in a follow-up meeting with staff, Green apparently "told partial truths and manipulated the events to fit the narratives he so desired to control." The church contends that "Jordan's confession was no confession at all."

Liars will tell you what they think you will believe without turning against them, and no more.

"After these initial meetings were held on Thursday and Friday, which were sorely misrepresented by Jordan to the leadership team, additional information came to light regarding the true depth of the sexual misconduct," the church letter continued.

"One by one, brave souls began to share their personal stories of how Jordan had harmed them during their employment at Pursuit Church. It was raw. It was angry. It was real. He sat silently, head down, unresponsive, except for two instances where he attempted to defend himself."

As part of his termination, Green will not be allowed to be on church property or enter a school the congregation oversees.

Does this indicate that his victim(s) were school kids?

Green issued a statement to Charlotte-based WBTV, saying he is "deeply heartbroken over the pain I've brought to the church and the shame I've brought on the name of Christ."

"Although I do believe there are things being said that are twisted versions of the truth or aren't true at all at the foundation of this is my genuine grievous sin against God and his church," stated Green.

"The Lord brought judgment and discipline down on my life which I am extremely thankful for. When God disciplines us it is always to deliver and never to destroy. I have and will continue to repent before the Lord and seek him through this season of discipline."

Green said he is "deeply sorry for the pain I've caused to those involved" and that "I love Pursuit Church and the whole church family and my hope and prayer is God will continue to immensely bless it now and in the future."
