Wisconsin Republicans have been holding up Erin's Law
for 10 years now
I need your HELP! I am livid and have been fuming for a week now after I received word there are 3 Wisconsin senators set to kill my bill from passing in Wisconsin. Since May I have been told, Wisconsin is finally going to pass it. That it would be on Governor Evers desk in November. I have heard that before in other states and the bill dies so I took it with a grain of salt since this bill has been killed 10 years. YES 10 years Wisconsin lawmakers have killed my bill. The bill was introduced December 8th 2015 see below. Ten years I have been at this and guess what they will NEVER get rid of me until they pass Erin’s Law.
I traveled to the capitol in Madison in January to meet with legislators. I went back to the capitol and testified in Madison in May. Within hours of finding out there are 3 senators last week planning on killing my bill I reached out to a very close family member of the Governor. By 10:30pm she let me know I would be hearing from Governor’s office the next day to set up a meeting with the Governor. Guess where I am going Monday? Right back to the capitol to sit down with Governor Evers demanding he do everything in his power to get these republican senators to vote yes. Unfortunately, Governor Evers is a democrat so it will make it difficult getting these senators to listen to him. I am willing to try anything and everything including blasting the names and faces of the republican senators who don’t vote yes in the media and my documentary. I will make sure their name and face are shown in this documentary being made on Erin’s Law for not caring about protecting children from abuse if they vote against it. I am going to light a fire under them to act now and vote yes or risk their name and image dragged through the mud for not caring about the welfare of children. You don’t want to get between me and protecting children from predators.
The Assembly republicans and democrats are all in support and plan to pass it on the floor next month but then it goes to the Senate. In Wisconsin I need 17 of the 18 republican senators voting yes. Dumbest rule I have ever come across in any state of getting this law passed for 15 years in 38 states. There are tons of republicans in Wisconsin supporting my bill. Republicans are the bill sponsors who introduced it in the Assembly and Senate.
Yes, I am fired up and need your help. I don’t care where you live even if it is on the other side of the world from me in Australia, please write every republican senator in Wisconsin below and tell them to pass SB171 Erin’s Law. I have listed the ones who have not confirmed if they are supporting the passage of SB171. I know the name of one of the senators against it.
Sen.Jagler@legis.wisconsin.gov is against it and the Department of Public Instruction in Wisconsin. They are the reason it has died for the last ten years. I am told the senators voting against it are saying no because they will vote yes only if DPI supports it and DPI showed up and testified against my law in May. Yes, that is correct the individuals that are supposed to care about the welfare of children and their education do not want this taught to Wisconsin children.
Please help me fill their inbox to pass this law. Don’t be nasty just tell them how important it is for children to be taught how to speak up and tell. That there is FREE curriculum from Erin's Law Foundation for schools to teach this. This is NOT sex education this is teaching kids how to speak up and tell if they are abused. Personal body safety education. Maybe you have your own story and how Erin’s Law could have given you a voice but instead you stayed silent.
I have said it hundreds of times and will say it again. The only people who should be against my law and want it killed are the people who want to silence and sexually abuse children. Let that one sink in.
For years the assembly woman in New York who made sure my bill was killed for 8 years told the media and senate sponsor of the bill that I am a bully because she was being flooded with hundreds of emails from Erin’s Law supporters demanding they pass it. I am no bully…maybe a bulldog she couldn’t get rid of and guess what happened when we finally got rid of her and Erin’s Law passed……first year NY mandated Erin’s Law 27 students came forward after it was taught for the first time in one elementary school. Their abuser the principal who is now sitting behind bars for 63 years. This is why they can’t get rid of me. I’ve got lots more monsters to stop and lock up.
