Former White Rock dance teacher charged with multiple sexual assaults

After the arrest of a prominent dancer and choreographer, White Rock RCMP is asking anyone with information related to alleged historical sexual offences involving female dance students to come forward.

In 2021, White Rock RCMP received a report of a historical sexual assault involving a dance teacher and student at a local dance studio in White Rock; the General Investigation Section took conduct of the investigation.

As the investigation progressed, additional victims were identified, all of whom were youths at the time of the alleged offences, an RCMP release noted. Investigators submitted a report to Crown Counsel to the BC Prosecution Service for charge assessment.

Charges against Nigel Brock Jellison, 45, were laid earlier this year, on Feb. 12, by the BC Prosecution Service, and a Canada‑wide warrant was issued for his arrest.

Jellison, commonly known as Brock Jellison, faces five counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual exploitation related to alleged offences involving four victims between 2006 and 2011.

Jelison, who was the lead tap choreographer for the 2010 Olympic opening ceremonies, was arrested on April 15 in Magrath, Alta. by White Rock RCMP, with the assistance of the Raymond/Magrath RCMP.

He was processed and subsequently released on conditions while awaiting his next court appearance.

The alleged offences occurred while Jellison was teaching at a local dance studio in White Rock, but investigators are aware that he has also been associated with other dance studios, the release said, adding that, based on the investigation, it is believed that Jellison was teaching in Alberta more recently.

“We believe there may be people within our community who were taught by Brock Jellison or attended the local dance studio who have information and have not yet spoken with police,” said White Rock RCMP detachment commander Staff Sgt. Rob Dixon.

“We are asking anyone with information to contact the White Rock RCMP at 778‑545‑4800.”

Parents, please don't send your children to daycares where men are present. It's not worth the risk.

Chilliwack man facing charges relating to child sexual-abuse materials

A man who managed a Chilliwack daycare has been charged with two counts related to child sexual-abuse materials.

Vincent Perron had a court date in Chilliwack on April 28, for charges that date back to June 20, 2025.

Perron, born in 1987, had a first appearance on March 24 according to court documents. His next court date is listed as May 26.

Perron’s charges are listed as: possess child sex abuse/exploitation material, and access child sex abuse/exploitation material.

According to social media comments, Perron managed a childcare centre in Chilliwack connected to a church. Fraser Health has a Vincent Perron listed as the manager of a licensed childcare facility called Pamela’s House, on College Street. Pamela’s House is located inside College Street Victory Church.

A “RocketReach” profile lists Perron as a director at Pamela’s House, a ministry assistant at the church, and a server at Greek Islands Restaurant.

Several social media comments suggest Perron also has lived in Alberta.

The church and daycare have not responded to a request for comment. Perron is not listed as a member of staff on their website.

Perron’s charges have not been tested in court.

Maya Gebala, a survivor of the Tumbler Ridge mass shooting, is out of the intensive care unit.

Her father posted an update on Facebook on Tuesday saying that Monday was a big day for the family.

“We transitioned out of the ICU into a more recovery and rehab-focused unit, and it’s now been 26 hours since Maya’s EVD was removed for the second time,” David Gebala wrote.

An external ventricular drain (EVD) is a temporary neurosurgical catheter placed in the brain’s ventricles to drain cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) or blood, reducing dangerous pressure, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Gebala says that so far, everything is looking positive for Maya as she doesn’t seem to be in as much pain and they are starting to see more energy and colour come back in her complexion.

“She’s still not a fan of the boot for the pressure sore on her heel, doing her best to kick it off whenever she can, but her movements are becoming much more intentional,” Gebala said.

He said they are slowly making some progress, but the biggest moment came when the occupational therapist and physiotherapist came into Maya’s room on Tuesday and with their help, Maya was able to sit up on the edge of the bed.

“This was huge for two reasons,” Gebala wrote.

“First, she was using her own muscles to help support herself (with assistance), and second… I was finally able to wrap my arms around my daughter. Really wrap my arms around her and hold her tight.

“I can’t even begin to put into words what that hug felt like. All I wanted in that moment was to lift her up, hold her close, and never let go.”

Maya, 12, has been in the hospital since the Feb. 10 shooting in Tumbler Ridge in which eight people, including the shooter, died.

Siobhan Kirby has been charged with 13 sexual offences in Abbotsford involving children.    

A woman who was wanted on a warrant earlier this year and arrested in Alberta now faces 13 charges in Abbotsford, including for sexual offences against a child and the possession of child sexual abuse material.  

According to provincial court records, Siobhan Kirby, 35, is slated to make her first appearance in Abbotsford provincial court on Wednesday (Nov. 12).  

Kirby has been charged with:  

• possessing child sex abuse material;  

• making or publishing child sex abuse material;  

• importing or distributing sex abuse material;  

• accessing child sex abuse material;  

• sexual exploitation of a person with a disability;  

• touching a young person for a sexual purpose;  

• sexual assault;  

• invitation to sexual touching;  

• telecommunication to lure a child under 18;  

• arranging or agreeing to a sexual offence against a child;  

• trafficking in a person(s) under 18;  

• material benefit from trafficking; and  

• procuring a person to offer or provide services.  

All the alleged offences occurred on Dec. 1, 2022 in Abbotsford, according to the court records.  

The Abbotsford News has reached out to the Abbotsford Police Department for more information, including whether the charges are related to one alleged victim or more.  

The APD in July posted a notice seeking the public’s help in trying to locate Kirby, who they said was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for multiple sexual offences.  She was believed to be in the Calgary area at the time.  The APD reported the following day that Kirby had been arrested by RCMP in Parkland, Alta.

An Afghan man who escaped to the UK after being convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl in France is fighting extradition because he fears his prison cell in Paris may be too small.

Abdul Ahmadzai, 36, was arrested under the Extradition Act 2003 after a warrant was issued by France ‘for the rape of a minor.’

He was convicted in absence of the rape of a 14-year-old girl and given five years in prison but retains ‘retrial rights’ if he is extradited back across the channel.

Ahmadzai appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court wearing grey prison clothes and accompanied by an Afghan interpreter.

Stefan Hyman, for Ahmadzai, argued that Ahmadzai’s case could pass the threshold for Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which states that ‘no one shall be subjected to torture or inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment’.

He said: ‘We have obtained an expert report which suggests that the requested person would be taken to Paris.

‘He’s a convicted person, and so unless he chooses to have a retrial, I understand that he will be detained in Paris but I can’t say what would happen if he chooses to have a retrial because the victim in this case is elsewhere in France.’

Mr Hyman said there was a ‘real risk’ of Ahmadzai being ‘detained in a space fewer than three metres squared.

‘I would respectfully suggest that given the low threshold and the very mixed picture in Paris and the fact that we have no idea where he’s actually going to be detained in Paris, and, actually, his case is quite particular because of the retrial right and whether would be an accused person.

‘I would suggest there is enough here to invite the CPS to write to the French and say: ‘Can you tell us he’s going to have his own bed and three metres squared please?’…

Canada: British Columbia tribunal rules that photos of ‘unveiled’ Muslim woman are not ‘intimate images’

There are many others like this British Columbia Muslim woman, who advanced a claim for damages under B.C.’s Intimate Images Protection Act, who have been slowly and steadily undermining Western free societies and imposing what has come to be referred to as “creeping Sharia.”

How on earth can any fully clothed woman who is photographed without Muslim veiling claim the resulting photo was an “intimate image”? Such a notion is outrageous.

In Islam, women are inferior to men. This is not a Canadian value; nor does it belong in any Western society. It is based on the Qur’anic tenet:

And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only what is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment except to their own husbands or fathers or husbands’ fathers, or their sons or their husbands’ sons, or their brothers or their brothers’ sons or sisters’ sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack desire, or children who know nothing of women’s nakedness. And do not let them stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And turn to Allah together, O believers, so that you may succeed.” (Quran 24:31)

If a woman does not cover, she is fair game to be assaulted….

O prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their veils close around them. That will be better, so that they may be recognized and not molested. Allah is always forgiving, merciful. (Quran 33:59)

The notion that a photo of an unveiled Muslim woman is an “intimate image” is absurd at best, and should point to the fact that Muslims who are Sharia-adherent do not belong in Western societies, unless, of course they are willing to put aside the aspects of their religion that are at odds with Western laws and culture.

Islam, however, is a religion that was established and expanded by means of conquest, both via violence and stealth (eg. lawfare), so it is unlikely that Shara-adherent Muslims will be willing to put aside any aspect of their religion that infidels do not embrace, even when they live in infidel lands.

Photos of ‘unveiled’ Muslim woman are not intimate images: B.C. tribunal

Photos of a Muslim woman in which she is not wearing a hijab are not intimate images, a B.C. tribunal has ruled.

The Civil Resolution Tribunal published its decision on the case Friday, dismissing a claim for damages under B.C.’s Intimate Images Protection Act. The legislation allows people to seek up to $5,000 in compensation from individuals who share or threaten to share their intimate images without consent.

The woman, whose identity is anonymized under a publication ban, told the tribunal photos of her without her hijab were shared with court officials, some of whom were male, by her ex-husband in the course of a family law proceeding.

“The applicant says that because she is a Muslim woman, she does not appear unveiled, without her hijab, in front of unrelated men. She argues the involuntary exposure of her hair, arms, or body to unrelated men is equivalent to public nudity,” tribunal vice-chair Andrea Ritchie wrote.

“She says the respondent, who shares her faith, knows this and improperly submitted the photos to the court in an attempt to humiliate and degrade her.”

Ritchie reviewed the photos and found the woman was shown without her hijab in 13 images, but also found the photos did not meet the legal criteria of intimate images.

“I found none of the images depicted the applicant nude, nearly nude, engaged in a sexual act, or exposing her genitals, anal region, or breasts. Although the applicant subjectively believes the images were ‘intimate’ as defined by the IIPA, I found the legislation’s intent was not to cover such a situation,” Ritche’s decision continued.

“I find the applicant’s images without her hijab do not depict her as ‘nearly nude.’”

Additionally, the tribunal found a photo of the woman kissing her ex-husband did not depict a sexual act.

“I find that kissing, although it can be intimate, is not by definition a sexual act. I say this because parents and grandparents kiss their children and grandchildren, friends may kiss to say hello, people may kiss their pets….

Police are asking for the public's help finding a Delta man wanted for the alleged sexual assault of a child.

As part of their ongoing investigation into an incident that took place in Delta on Sept. 12, 2024, the Delta Police Department’s Vulnerable Sector Unit is asking for public assistance in locating 26-year-old Gurkirat Singh to stand trial for these allegations.

Singh was the subject of a Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers appeal for public assistance May 23 of this year relating to the same incident.

Delta police say Singh is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, and sexual interference of a person under 16 years old. He is also wanted on an immigration warrant, according to Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers.

Gurkirat Singh is described as six feet tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Police say he may have altered his appearance.

Anyone with information on Singh's whereabouts is asked to call 911, or contact Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or solvecrime.ca and reference Delta Police file 24-17457. All tips can be submitted anonymously.
