Dubai: A 3-year-old Syrian boy was has been mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs in broad daylight, Syrian media reported.

According to the victim’s father, the child was attacked by dogs while playing during the day on a public road near a local farm the father was working in as a security guard.

“All of a sudden, I heard many dogs barking with my son terrifyingly screaming. I ran out to check the matter, but shockingly saw my son lying on the ground bleeding from his head, neck and hand,” the bereaved father said.

According to media reports, the father tried to save his son’s life and took him immediately to a nearby hospital but to no avail.

Dubai: A Ukrainian woman has been arrested in Egypt for posing almost naked on the balcony of her apartment in Cairo, Egyptian media reported.

According to reports, many Egyptians have contacted Cairo police reporting that a woman is repeatedly posing almost naked on her balcony.

Cario police despatched a patrol to the area to investigate the matter and they found the woman in her undies. They promptly arrested her.

The woman told the police she does not know the Egyptian laws and that she does the same in her home country. The accused emphasised that she did not intend to spread immorality or promote debauchery in Egyptian society. The police released her after assurances that she would not do it again.

Former Danish immigration minister Inger Stojberg has been handed a 60-day prison sentence for illegally ordering the separation of underage couples who sought asylum in the northern European nation.

On Monday, an impeachment court convicted the ex-immigration minister and sentenced her to 60 days’ unconditional imprisonment over a 2016 order which saw underage migrant couples separated. 

Known for her hardline stance on migration, Stojberg had ordered that authorities separate migrant couples upon arrival in Denmark. In total, 23 couples were separated, in a move which was later deemed unlawful by parliament’s ombudsman. The ombudsman decreed that Stojberg’s order failed to acknowledge that couples have the right to individual assessments.

The right-wing politician, a Liberal Party minister from 2015 to 2019, was accused of knowingly breaking the law. She had told the press that she expected the case to be thrown out and denied giving the order. The ex-minister claimed the move was aimed at protecting underaged girls and stamping out child marriages. 

Prosecutors Jon Lauritzen and Anne Birgitte Gammeljord told reporters outside the court that they were satisfied with the judgement, claiming that it is “an historic case.”

The prosecution had sought a four-month conditional jail term in what was the first impeachment trial in nearly three decades. 25 of 26 judges agreed to convict the former minister.

The case first came to light in 2016 when a Syrian couple complained to the ombudsman that they had been put in separate asylum facilities on arrival in Denmark. A commission launched into the so-called “child bride case” in 2020 found the move to separate was “clearly illegal.”

Even though the child bride was under age? How then is the government not guilty of enabling child sexual abuse?

Dubai: A 27-year-old Syrian woman died after being stabbed 15 times by a 34-year-old man for refusing to marry him, Jordanian media reported.

The woman was found in a pool of blood after being stabbed in the back, chest and neck near a bus station in the Ashrafieh neighborhood, Amman.

The suspect was arrested soon after the crime was discovered. It was reported that he was stalking her and threatening to kill her if she refused to marry him. He even assaulted her with a sharp object, causing deep injuries in her hand and told her: “If you do not keep quiet, I will harm your family.”

On the day of the crime, the killer was waiting for her next to her house and upon seeing her, he attacked her violently and fled the scene.

The crime has caused a huge social uproar in Jordan amid calls to apply the maximum penalty against the suspect.

A spurious concept designed to inhibit criticism of jihad terror could soon be funded by your tax dollars. My latest in FrontPage:

Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Mogadishu) and Jan Schakowsky (D-Lightfootland) have determined to take action against “Islamophobia,” and their initiative is gaining traction. The House Foreign Affairs Committee on Friday approved their bill calling for a State Department “Islamophobia monitor,” and now it will go to the full House for further consideration. The idea that Pelosi’s House would reject such a bill is virtually inconceivable.

This all started back in October, when Omar and Schakowsky introduced the Combating International Islamophobia Act, which would, according to a press release posted on Omar’s website, “require the State Department to create a Special Envoy for monitoring and combating Islamophobia, and include state-sponsored Islamophobic violence and impunity in the Department’s annual human rights reports.”

This would supposedly “help policymakers better understand the interconnected, global problem of anti-Muslim bigotry. It will also establish a comprehensive strategy for establishing U.S. leadership in combatting Islamophobia worldwide.”

The press release said nothing whatsoever about combating jihad terror or about how suspicion of Islam may be created by the all too common spectacle of Muslims committing acts of violence while screaming “Allahu akbar” and justifying their actions by reference to Islamic texts.

Omar and Schakowsky claimed that “this year, the United States has seen over 500 documented complaints of anti-Muslim hate and bias.” Their link went to another press release, this one from the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), claiming that these documented complaints include “hate crimes, harassment, school bullying, discrimination, hate speech, and anti-mosque incidents.”

The Anti-defamation League in the USA averages more than 3000 anti-Semitic complaints every year.

“Hate speech”: this means that trivial incidents in which someone who is rude to a Muslim gets counted in as a hate crime, inflating the numbers of those crimes and contributing to the false impression that Muslims are victims of widespread discrimination and harassment in America today. With that low a bar, it’s no surprise that the press release at Omar’s site goes on to note that “in March, the United Nations Human Rights Council cited discrimination and hatred towards Muslims has risen to ‘epidemic proportions.”

Omar claimed that “we are seeing a rise in Islamophobia in nearly every corner of the globe. In my home state of Minnesota, vandals spray-painted hate messages and a Nazi swastika on and near the Moorhead Fargo Islamic Center. These types of incidents are all too common for Muslims in the United States and beyond. As part of our commitment to international religious freedom and human rights, we must recognize Islamophobia and do all we can to eradicate it. That’s why I’m proud to partner with Rep. Jan Schakowsky to create a special envoy to put an end to this bigotry.”

Really, that Nazi swastika business is terrible. But let’s try to keep some perspective, shall we? Muslims in Nigeria are subjecting Christians to murderous jihad attacks on a near-daily basis. Muslims in Pakistan persecute Christians and other religious minorities by means of that country’s draconian blasphemy laws, which have seen lives destroyed on rumors and false charges. Compared to that, some spray-painted graffiti just isn’t that big a deal, although certainly the louts who did it should be caught and prosecuted.

Omar doesn’t say anything about Muslims being beaten or murdered, or even denied jobs and preferment, in the United States, because such incidents are vanishingly rare; to establish her victimhood bona fides she has to fall back on graffiti.

Nonetheless, Schakowsky chimes in with a claim that is part accurate and part Leftist victimhood fantasy:

“For over a decade we have seen increasing incidents of violent Islamophobia both in the U.S. and worldwide — from the genocide of the Rohingya in Burma, and Uyghurs in China, to the attacks on Muslim refugees in Canada and New Zealand. It is past time for the U.S. to establish a comprehensive plan for combating this hatred worldwide. I am proud to join my friend and colleague, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, in introducing the Combating International Islamophobia Act. This critical legislation will create a Special Envoy for Monitoring and Combating Islamophobia to ensure the U.S. dedicates the resources necessary to safeguard human rights and religious and cultural freedom around the world.”

All right. But will this Special Envoy for Monitoring and Combating Islamophobia note the large number of faked anti-Muslim hate crimes? Will this Envoy make a clear distinction between the two quite different ways the propaganda neologism “Islamophobia” is used? The term “Islamophobia” is an illegitimate conflation of two distinct phenomena: crimes against innocent Muslims, which are never justified, and honest analysis of the motivating ideology of jihad terror, which is always necessary.

Islamic advocacy groups and their leftist allies have been insisting for years that such analysis, too, constituted “Islamophobia.” Omar and Schakowsky speak of Islamophobic violence, but if this Special Envoy is created, he or she will without any doubt crack down on any honest discussion of how Islamic jihadis use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence and oppression, because for years such discussion has been labeled “Islamophobia” along with real acts of anti-Muslim bigotry.

The Special Envoy would just be another agent in the Left’s escalating war against freedom of speech, silencing opposition to jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women, and thereby enabling unarguably sinister forces. Don’t tell me you’re surprised.

Conservative Senators Accused of Stalling Transgender Rights Bill

Conservative senators are deliberately stalling debate on the government's gender identity bill, putting transgender people at risk of further abuse and discrimination, a prominent Independent senator says.

Tories in the Red Chamber have been adjourning debate on the bill for months, Senator Grant Mitchell said in an interview with CBC News, and he fears the stall tactics could cause the bill to languish on the order paper until next fall, or outright fail to pass in the Senate.

Tensions over the bill spilled over late Tuesday when Independent Senator Marilou McPhedran accused Conservative Senator Don Plett — who has opposed the bill — of using bigoted language when he referred to transgender Canadians as "these people."

"To my ears, I heard 'othering.' Othering can be understood as an indicator of bigotry. Colleagues, bigotry does not strengthen an inclusive democracy," she said in her first speech as a senator.

Plett vehemently denied Wednesday he had ever made bigoted comments on the floor of the Senate. "To attribute such a serious charge as bigotry to the phrase 'these people' is preposterous," he said Wednesday, demanding the Speaker rule McPhedran's remarks out of order.

"I would like to kindly remind the senator, and all of us, that this kind of discourse, personal attacks, is not how we do things in this chamber," he said. "My grandchildren, my great-grandchildren will read that I was accused of bigotry on the chamber floor … accusing someone of bigotry is a personal attack of highest order."

McPhedran said she did not intend to call Plett a bigot, but rather that she simply took issue with the tone he had used during debate.

The House of Commons voted overwhelmingly in favour of gender identity protections for the transgender community, and sent Bill C-16 to the Senate last November. Months later, it is still at second reading.

"This is not a technical bill, this is a bill that affects people's lives," Mitchell said. "Trans people face extraordinary rates of suicide, homelessness, very low rates of pay, way below their levels of education, job loss … all of those struggles faced by trans people that can, at least in part, be fixed by this bill."

True to a point, but bigotry against trans people is not the major factor in their suicide rates and many other problems. The roots of their problems grow much deeper than that.

Bill C-16 would update the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code to include the terms "gender identity" and "gender expression."

If passed, the legislation would make it illegal to discriminate on the basis of gender identity or expression. It would also extend hate speech laws to include the two terms, and make it a hate crime to target someone for being transgender.

Mitchell said it is not only the trans rights bill that has been subjected to Tory stall tactics, but also Bill C-4, which would amend legislation dealing with unions, and Bill C-6, which would make changes to the Citizenship Act.

'You don't have a right to delay'

Mitchell said that Plett in particular, the critic of the bill in the Senate, has routinely sought to push off a vote that would send the bill to committee for further review.

"If you're opposed to the bill you have a responsibility to speak. You have a right to speak against, vote against, but you don't have a right to delay a bill that is critical for people living with the abuse and the prejudice that trans people face. The Senate has a job to do," the Alberta Independent senator said.

Plett has said he needs more time to study the legislation and prepare speaking notes on the bill. The Conservative deputy leader in the Senate, Yonah Martin, who has adjourned debate in her name, has said she did so to ensure everyone who wants to speak about the bill has the opportunity.

In an interview with CBC News last week, Plett said that all senators have a democratic right to speak on legislation and adjourning debate is a normal part of parliamentary procedure.

"We as an opposition, need to exercise our democratic right, and need to make sure things are done in the right way," he said.

"What goes around, comes around"

"Things just don't move at the speed that they should. I know how frustrated I was when I came to the Senate eight years ago," Plett said, adding Liberal senators then regularly stalled legislation, including a human trafficking private member's bill that was before the chamber at the time.

Mitchell, who serves as the government's whip in the Senate after leaving the Senate Liberal caucus last May, said he "doesn't buy" the argument that Conservatives need more time to gather research on the issue, given this is the third time a trans rights bill has been before the Senate since 2005.

The previous iterations died on the order paper after debate was punted to a later date. Unlike the past bills, Bill C-16 is government legislation.

Plett was a vocal opponent of those past bills, and in 2015 controversially amended the legislation from applying to "sex-specific" facilities such as public washrooms.

"I don't want to impugn his motives, he has concerns about this bill for whatever reason, but at some point you cross the threshold of legitimate opposition to delay for the sake of delay," Mitchell said, adding he did not want to brand Plett as transphobic.

"Our chamber must deliberate, but we must also decide."

Peter Harder, the government's representative in the Senate, delivered an impassioned defence of the bill in the chamber late Tuesday, urging senators to send the bill to committee without further delay.

"Each day a bill like this is adjourned, justice is denied. Canadians expect us to work as hard and diligently as they do."

The Liberal government is also pushing a bill to make 'Islamophobia' a hate-crime as though that is going to help matters. Soon, people who strive to tell the truth, like me, won't be able to write about much of anything.

The government does not understand that the more extreme it pushes in one direction, the more extreme will be the push-back in the next election. America's excessive liberalism led to Donald Trump being elected. Stephen Harper's personal unapproachability led to Justin Trudeau. Trudeau wants to fix the world's problems whether they are real or perceived and his haste is going to create a major backlash.

Remember Nigeria? Muslims are Still Slaughtering Christians There

While the Left screams about 'Islamophobia' in America, Christians face martyrdom in Islamic lands.

As the self-appointed guardians of all that is virtuous and just incessantly berate as “Islamophobic”  their compatriots who entertain second thoughts about importing Islamic culture into the West, these same self-avowed agents of “tolerance” utter not a peep regarding the murderous persecution to which Christians and other religious minorities are daily subjected throughout the Islamic world (and beyond).

Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) is one organization that exists to raise awareness of this crisis.

In at least 50 countries around the globe, Christians suffer “severe” oppression.  Most of these countries—about 80%--have near exclusively Muslim majority populations.

Take, for example, “Amina.”  Amina is a Nigerian woman who, in 2011, was staying with her friend “Charity” and the latter’s children when their village was besieged by Islamic militants firing guns.

Charity was ill and Amina was nearly seven months pregnant when the militants began raining down gunfire.  Since their home was surrounded by a “high wall,” the women lead the children out of the house toward the back and helped them climb over it.  Unfortunately, however, given their own respective conditions, neither Charity nor Amina were capable of climbing the wall themselves.

“I was six months then, going on seven, and my stomach was big,” Amina recalls.  She proceeded to search out a room in which to hide when she took a bullet to her leg.

Her sick friend dragged Amina into the house and found her a hiding space before finding one herself.

Yet to no avail.  Amina’s gun wound left a trail of blood that her Muslim assailants were able to track easily enough once they overcame the compound.   Kicking in the door to the room in which she was hiding, they began to attack poor Amina with….machetes.

They attacked her with machetes.

Let this sink in:  American leftists are apoplectic over the prospect of halting Islamic immigration to the United States, say, or—God forbid!—the expectation that “moderate” Muslims should denounce Islamic terror.

In glaring contrast, these same social justice warriors say nothing about the phenomenon of pregnant Christian women being awaken in the dead of night and butchered by machete and gun-wielding Muslim men.

Amina’s tormentors didn’t finish her off.  They left her for dead and proceeded to rampage through the rest of the village.  Charity found Amina in a pool of her own blood and tried to get her medical attention.

The problem, though, is that the motorbikes in the town had been destroyed by the marauders. Thankfully, however, Charity prevailed upon a Nigerian army patrol that transported Amina to a hospital.

Amina survived, and after four months, she was finally able to leave the hospital.  Yet because of the immense blood loss that she suffered, she lost the baby that she had been carrying.  Also, such was the severity of the injuries that she sustained that Amina to this day is incapable of walking properly.

Thus, she is unable to lend her husband and their family the financial assistance that she would’ve otherwise provided.

To make matters even worse, Amina’s family home and all of their possessions were destroyed in a fire ignited by their Muslim oppressors.

Amina expresses her gratitude to Voice of the Martyrs for furnishing her and her family with the funds that they’ve needed for her to get the treatment and provisions that she needed to recover from her attack. 

Remarkably—but both unsurprisingly and uncommon for devout Christians like Amina who have lost virtually all to monsters who target them because of their faith—Amina has forgiven her oppressors.  “I don’t have any bad intention against them,” she remarks.  “Our prayer is that they should understand that what they are doing is not good [.]”  She insists that she has “forgiven them” and expresses hope “that they will be saved [.]”

Notice: Neither Amina nor her family nor Charity nor, for that matter, any other Christian that has suffered so senselessly in theses bastions of virulent Islamic persecution declaims their persecutors as “infidels,” much less calls for their deaths.

Instead, they try to forgive them.  And Amina, for her part, also admits to praying regularly “that in all of this suffering that I am passing through” God “will give me courage” to withstand anything “that…will tempt me to turn back from Him.”

Amina’s forgiveness, though, shouldn’t be interpreted as passivity.  She is adamant when she claims that her and her fellow oppressed Christians in Nigeria “want the world to know that Christians in northern Nigeria are passing through persecution.”  Muslims, she continues, “go and pick weapons and they hunt us in the night to take our lives, and they do all [these] things because of the name of Jesus.”

Amina concludes: “If we agree to become Muslims they will let us be, but because they see that we refuse, they keep on hunting us.”

As I document in my latest book, The American Offensive: Dispatches from the Front (Stairwell Press), Amina’s experience is all too common.

But all the left can talk about is “Islamophobia” in America.

American Christians can also learn a thing or two from Amina's example.
