One Canadian Province Addresses Canada's Worst Atrocity

This may disappoint my 1st Nations friends but Missing and Murdered Women is not Canada's worst atrocity. It is certainly a horrible atrocity, but there is one that is worse and by a long shot. It's child sexual abuse and it is destroying about 25% of an entire generation of girls. In fact, it is working on the second generation of girls in the 21st century.

The government of British Columbia has pledged a considerable amount of money to address some of the issues that emerge from CSA, although it doesn't address the fact that the vast majority of child sexual abuse is never reported to the police.

$22M core funding for programs helping sexual assault survivors

is a 'huge deal,' service director says

B.C. government announced funding over next 3 years in budget

Sexual assault support programs have welcomed the announcement in B.C.'s budget of $22 million in core funding for up to 50 such services across the province over the next three years.

The province hasn't said how it plans to distribute the money allocated in Tuesday's budget, but the Ministry of Finance said the solicitor general will come up with a plan in the months ahead.

"Work to support survivors of sexual assault means we must recognize the needs of experienced and compassionate community-based service providers who deserve stable annual funding to do their work," the ministry said.

sexual assault is one of the most under-reported crimes in the country

Prince George Sexual Assault Centre executive director Lynnell Halikowski said government investment in these services throughout the province is a "huge deal."

"This is just critical to being able to provide consistent services in our community," she said.

According to 2019 data from Statistics Canada, sexual assault is one of the most under-reported crimes in the country — only about five per cent of sexual assaults experienced by women are reported to police.

Only about five per cent of sexual assaults experienced by women

are reported to police

I would venture to say that even fewer sexual assaults on children

are reported to police

An estimated 4.7 million Canadian women have been sexually assaulted at least once since the age of 15, and young people, sexual minorites, people with disabilities and Indigenous people are more likely to be the victims of these crimes.

In 2002, the government of then-premier Gordon Campbell cut core funding for sexual assault centres.

What's with Liberals? Campbell was a Liberal. Trudeau is a Liberal Prime Minister who has done absolutely nothing to address the child sexual abuse epidemic in Canada. The last government to do anything to address this atrocity was the Conservative Harper government which was outed in 2015.

More than one million girls have been sexually abused in the 21st century in Canada, most of them more than once, and Trudeau doesn't see a problem. Maybe he should try making some new friends.

The new money is meant specifically for ongoing core funding, which is what keeps organizations like Halikowski's afloat. Sexual assault response programs are often funded instead by grants, which Halikowski said are usually meant for specific projects.

"This will allow us to ... offer more counselling and wraparound support and advocacy," Halikowski said, adding that the need for support for survivors has increased since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020.

The Ending Violence Association of B.C. has been advocating for more funding for community-based sexual assault response programs for 20 years.

"We're thrilled that at this point in history supporting survivors and victims of sexual assault is being taken seriously," executive director Ninu Kang said.

"It's a big statement."

The organization has helped distribute $20 million in provincial grants starting in 2021 to assist with sexual assault response services in B.C.

The Kamloops Sexual Assault Counselling Centre is one of the centres that's benefited from that program, but it is due to run out in 2023, so the new funding was a relief.

"We were just so worried that we would have to return to that place of not being able to provide those services," agency co-ordinator Alix Dolson said.

Alberta Government Funds Website Directing K-12 Kids to Sexually Graphic Content

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT

A few of the less graphic images referred to are displayed below

Is this the type of “help” the Alberta government should be funding for K-12 children?

The content of these articles is graphic. There are images of naked men being flogged and restrained with suggestions on how to use specific BDSM products, including links to purchase those items from an online sex shop. In the article about masturbation, your child is even advised to “pay for porn” and “visit a group masturbation night at your local sex club”.

These sexually graphic articles are examples of the content available on the “Fruit Loop” Facebook page, linked to as a “Community Support” on the Alberta GSA Network website to “help” K-12 children with their Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA).

Unbelievably, it only takes two clicks for K-12 children to easily access sexually graphic material from this website, which is funded with taxpayer money and even recommended by Alberta Education.

The Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS) is paid by the Alberta Government to organize the Alberta GSA Network, intended to support a target audience that includes children ages 5 to 17 years old.

Dr. Kristopher Wells, who is a Faculty Director with iSMSS and the “driving force” behind the creation of the Alberta GSA Network, has publicly shared posts from Fruit Loop on his own social media, including a “fast-paced ad” featuring naked young people who “share an erotic kiss on a tennis court” and “are often seen embracing, rolling around on the ground together.”

Clearly he is not ignorant of the sexually graphic content of their posts.

The iSMSS using government funds to provide access to sexually graphic content – especially masquerading under the banner of “support” for K-12 students – is an exploitation of the trust that children, parents and teachers place in our province’s education system.

It is true that sexually graphic content is available on the internet and kids could find it anyway.

However, using schools to intentionally direct and connect children to community organizations that peddle sexually graphic content is not safe or appropriate.

It is dangerous, reckless and wrong.

K-12 children who access GSAs are often already struggling and vulnerable. Exposure to the sexually graphic content made available through the Alberta GSA Network website puts these children at further risk of harm and victimization.

It is obvious the Ministry of Education is trusting the wrong people with the role of supporting 5 to 17-year-olds and creating “safe and caring” schools.

This is not untypical of left-wing governments. Social engineering is cause celebre of NDP and some Liberal governments - Ontario, for instance. Canada's largest province is led by a Liberal gov't with Kathleen Wynne as its Premier. Wynne is gay! As part of her transition team, she had an education adviser, Benjamin Levin, who was well qualified, if not over-qualified, such was his very impressive resume. As Deputy Education Minister, he began to have input into the new 'social engineering education agenda' of the Wynne government and may have been an important part of its implementation but for the fact that he was sent to prison for 3 years for child pornography, and counseling to commit child sex assault. Those who lean 'hard to port' make remarkably poor decisions with regard to our children.

If this is the “help” iSMSS and Dr. Wells want to provide to Alberta’s kindergarten to Grade 12 students through our school system, then we don’t want it.

As parents and taxpayers of Alberta, we call on the Alberta government to immediately:

1. Suspend all funding to iSMSS.

2. Remove iSMSS and Dr. Wells from any influence over our province’s K-12 education system, including any provision of research, resources, counseling, teacher training and new curriculum development.

In order to ensure that schools are welcoming, caring, safe and respectful learning environments, Albertans must demand a higher standard when it comes to anyone entrusted with the support and care of K-12 children in this province – a much higher standard than the “support” currently being offered by iSMSS.

UPDATES:
(March 14, 1 p.m.) In response to my blog article and this information becoming so public it seems the GSA Network website has now edited their list of community supports over the past hour. If you would like to verify the original list, please see the screen captures available in the GSA Network website supporting documentation (WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT).

The fact remains that iSMSS did not properly vet their links and community supports, which only proves their lack of competence when it comes to being trusted with the safety of our K-12 children.

Links and content so inappropriate for K-12 kids should never have been there in the first place, especially under the guise of “support”. If I hadn’t happened to personally stumble across the content, it would still be there. Why is it up to citizens to vet these government funded and recommended resources? Shouldn’t the Alberta government be hiring people who can do their job without volunteer citizens having to do it for them?

Removing a few links does not solve the problem. iSMSS and Dr. Wells have severely violated the public trust and should not be in a position of influence in our K-12 education system at all.  Alberta children deserve better.

(March 15, 10:30 a.m.) Donna Trimble, Executive Director for Parents for Choice in Education, posted an excellent open letter to our elected representatives entitled “Which Alberta Politicians Will Stand Up for Our Children?!”  Feel free to forward her letter to your MLAs and school board trustees.

Thank you to News Talk 770 with Danielle Smith for interviewing Donna Trimble, Executive Director of Parents for Choice in Education on March 14, 2017 about these concerns:

Andrea Huncar, from the CBC News who wrote an article about this topic (March 15, 2017). It was, of course, critical of the blogger Theresa Ng, and Donna Trimble for their failure to embrace LGBTQ and gender confused policies.

Gay Pastor Faces Trial on Decades Old Child Sex Allegations

Aly Thomson, The Canadian Press

KENTVILLE, Nova Scotia -- A man testifying at the trial of a well-known Toronto pastor says he saw the religious leader perform a sexual act on a teenage male at a Nova Scotia home in the 1970s.

  video 3:22

"I couldn't believe it," the man testified in Kentville provincial court Monday at the trial of Rev. Brent Hawkes, an influential gay rights advocate who officiated at former NDP leader Jack Layton's state funeral in 2011.

Jack Layton was a highly respected leader of the New Democratic Party, Canada's most-left leaning federal political party, although Justin Trudeau's Liberals are crowding them out. It's hard to think that this sorry creature may have had some influence on a man of excellent character like Layton.

The witness said he knew Hawkes when he was a student and Hawkes was a basketball coach at a school in the Annapolis Valley.

He said he was about 16 years old when a group of people went drinking at a local tavern, and then to Hawkes' home.

The witness said he remembers only a few things about that night.

"It's not so much what I remember but what after 40 years I've been unable to forget," said the witness.

Hawkes took the young man to a small bathroom, and told him he had been watching him, and was "80 per cent sure I was gay," he said.

"It was uncomfortable. It was very uncomfortable," the witness said, later telling the defence he felt that Hawkes was hitting on him.

Hawkes then started talking about Jesus and God and his own spirituality, and said he could feel God's hand in his own hand, the man testified.

He said they returned to the living room, and he later looked over to see Hawkes performing oral sex on his friend.

Hawkes, wearing a black suit with a burgundy tie, clutched a black notebook as he walked into court Monday. He sat in the front row of the gallery and listened intently to the testimony.

Defence lawyer Clayton Ruby appeared to question the witness on the accuracy of his memories of the evening, noting that last year he told police how many people were in the trailer home that night, but he could not recall that on the stand Monday.

"It's not what I remember sir. It's what I cannot forget," the witness said. "After 40 years I'm trying to forget everything I can about that night."

Hawkes has pleaded not guilty to charges of indecent assault and gross indecency. Nova Scotia's Public Prosecution Service has said the alleged victim was 15 or 16 years old at the time.

Another man testified Monday he was also at the party that night, and alcohol was being consumed.

"Several hours in, we were underway. We were drunk. But it was a weird drunk," the witness said, saying there was a game being played which required clothes to be taken off.

"When you have four or five heterosexual men in their underwear, you know there's something going on."

When asked by the Crown if there were physical acts that happened at the trailer, the witness put his head down for several seconds and replied, "Yes."

"(Hawkes) had us in the first bedroom and (was) doing bad things," said the witness, choking back tears, adding there were about three other people in the room, including one of his school friends.

The witness also testified that he later saw Hawkes go down the hallway of the trailer nude with another one of his school friends.

Sexual Predator Jailed After Claiming to be ‘Transgender’ to Assault Women in Shelter

Christopher Hambrook
TORONTO, March 4, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com)A biological man claiming to be ‘transgender’ so as to gain access to and prey on women at two Toronto shelters was jailed “indefinitely” last week after being declared by a judge a “dangerous offender.”

Pro-family leaders are pointing out that this is exactly the type of incident they warned of as the Ontario government passed its “gender identity” bill, dubbed the “bathroom bill,” in 2012.

Christopher Hambrook, 37, leaned on the ever expanding legal “rights” offered to people who “identify” with the sex opposite their biology. Under the name “Jessica,” he was able to get into the women’s shelters, where he sexually assaulted several women in 2012, the Toronto Sun reports.

Court heard how one woman awoke to find Hambrook assaulting her on her bed. “Her tights had been pulled down past her bottom and her bathing suit had been pulled to the side,” court documents reveal. “She yelled at the accused, demanding to know what he was doing. He simply covered his face with his hands, said ‘Oops!’ and started giggling.”

Court also heard evidence of Hambrook terrorizing a deaf woman living in the shelter. “The accused grabbed the complainant’s hand and forcibly placed it on his crotch area while his penis was erect,” court heard.

The same deaf women reported that Hambrook would peer at her through a gap between the door and its frame while she showered.

Justice John McMahon imposed the “indefinite” prison sentence due to Hambrook’s long history of committing sex crimes.

Hambrook was a former stripper and escort from Quebec before moving to Toronto in 2009 and posing as a woman. While in Montreal he served four years in jail for a 2002 sexual assault of a five-year-old girl who was a family friend and for raping a mentally challenged 27-year-old woman while on bail for the first crime, reports the Toronto Sun.

The prosecution successfully convinced the judge that Hambrook’s out-of-control sexual urges put the public at great risk and that an indefinite jail sentence was the only way to protect the public.

“I am satisfied there is no reasonable expectation that a lesser measure would adequately protect the public from Christopher Hambrook,” said Judge McMahon.

Ontario amended its Human Rights Code to make “gender identity” and “gender expression” prohibited grounds for discrimination in 2012. The bill’s sponsors said at the time that the so-called “Toby's Law” would open the door to “social change” in Canada.

Family advocates argued at the time that the NDP sponsored bill would create a legal right for a man who calls himself ‘transgender’ to use rooms and facilities intended for women so as to exploit women.

The bill was subsequently dubbed the “bathroom bill” by its critics. Allowing a man who calls himself ‘transgender’ to enter a woman’s area has already proved problematic in the United States.

OMG
In 2012 a college in Washington state decided it would not prevent a 45-year-old man who presents himself as a transgender “female” from lounging naked in a women’s locker room in an area frequented by girls as young as six.

Teenage girls on a high school swim team were using the facilities when they saw "Colleen" Francis deliberately exposing male genitalia through the glass window in a sauna. Police told one outraged mother that the university could not bar the biological male from the premises.

You have got to be kidding! Have you ever heard anything so ridiculous in your life?

Brian Rushfeldt, president of Canada Family Action, told LifeSiteNews that Hambrook’s method of gaining legal entrance into the woman’s shelters proves gender identity legislation is inherently flawed.

“The Ontario law is dangerous. It is unacceptable that any country would allow a law which puts citizens at risk. It proves the law was ill planned and executed, and the government should be held legally responsible for these crimes.”

Jack Fonseca of Campaign Life Coalition told LifeSiteNews that it “didn’t take a brain surgeon to predict that letting men into women’s bathrooms and other private spaces would eventually lead to sexual assaults.”

Apparently, liberals aren't brain surgeons, or even close.

“I wish we didn't have to say 'I told you so,’ but Ontario's party leaders and MPPs were warned that the transsexual ‘Bathroom Bill’ endangered women and needed to be defeated.”

Of course this lunatic law could only make it easier for rapists and peeping toms to prey on female victims while masquerading as ‘transgendered.’

Fonseca called for a repeal of the law.

“If this dangerous law is not repealed, we will only see a rise in male predators attacking women in spaces where they deserve the right to privacy like bathrooms, change rooms and women’s shelters.”

Fonseca took aim at Progressive Conservative leader Tim Hudak for supporting the bill, saying that he should take “personal responsibility for the attempted rape of those poor women in the shelters.”

“Hudak cannot escape blame: He supported this nonsensical law.”

QMI Agency’s Christina Blizzard wrote in an opinion piece last week that women have a “right to protection.”

“This is a bad law that allows heterosexual predators access to women in their most personal moments. Extra care should be taken to protect at-risk women in vulnerable situations, such as homeless shelters.”

Ezra Levant said that the gender identity law in Ontario has made the province become a “magnet for rapists.”

“Instead of women being protected in Ontario, instead of the law protecting women, the law serves up women to a rapist named ‘Jessica,’” he said on his show The Source.

A federal version of the “gender identity” bill currently sits in the Senate after failing to pass its third and final reading in August after the Conservatives shut down Parliament for a summer break.

Fonseca said that the federal legislation puts Canadian women at risk.

“We urge all concerned Canadians to phone, email and write Canada’s Senators pointing out that the Ontario version of this law allowed Mr. Hambrook to sexually assault two women, and to ensure that Senators do not make the mistake of granting legal cover to would-be rapists at the federal level.”

“Tell the Senators to vote NO to Bill C-279 when it comes up again.”

Political Organizer Fights Child Sex Offender Designation

Ibata Hexamer, a former political organizer for several Vancouver city councillors and the federal NDP pleaded guilty in 2012 to
six charges relating to the knife-point sexual assaults of
four young girls.
Child sex predator Ibata Hexamer pleaded guilty to 6 charges relating to the
knife-point sexual assaults of four young girls
By Geordon Omand,
The Canadian Press
The judge in the sentencing hearing of a child serial rapist is grappling over whether to allow access to the man's computer. Police say it was full of child pornography.

British Columbia Supreme Court Justice James Williams said the stakes are high for Ibata Noric Hexamer and has called a hearing next week to determine the admissibility of the computer evidence in the sentencing process.

The stakes are also high for all the little girls he will rape if this monster should ever be allowed to walk free again.

Hexamer pleaded guilty in 2013 to four counts of sexual assault and two counts of confinement involving six victims aged six to 14, one of which dates back 20 years.

Prosecutors want Hexamer to be designated a long-term or dangerous offender for his crimes.

"If Crown succeeds in having Mr. Hexamer designated a dangerous offender the consequences for him are great," said Williams on Monday. "He could spend the rest of his life in prison."

Can there be any question that that is where he should spend the rest of his life?

Hexamer's lawyer, Gary Botting, said police should not have been allowed to access his client's computer, which allegedly contained thousands of images of child porn.

Williams took issue with Botting's decision to raise such objections so late in the process, after a forensic psychologist had already completed a psychiatric assessment. He called the move "an astounding proposition."

"I will say this quite pointedly: the manner in which the defence has dealt with this issue is unfortunate in the extreme," said Williams.

Pleaded guilty in 2012

The sex assaults started in 1995 and ended in 2009, after Hexamer attacked a six-year-old girl in Surrey, B.C. He threatened to stab the little girl with a knife before forcing her 12-year-old brother and his 15-year-old friend to lay on the ground in the woods and look away while he sexually assaulted her.

Hexamer pleaded guilty in 2012 to six of the original 23 charges on the condition that the Crown drop the remaining 17, Botting said in an interview outside the court. He added that Hexamer bargained for a 15-year sentence and that prosecutors agreed not to pursue dangerous-offender status.

Botting said his client applied to change his guilty plea earlier this year and fired his previous lawyer, Donna Turco, after she allegedly accepted a deal without Hexamer's consent that didn't include the dangerous-offender condition.

In June, the judge dismissed Hexamer's bid to alter his plea.

Hexamer, who's in his 40s, is a former DJ and political campaign organizer, with experience working on a municipal election campaign in Vancouver and for the NDP in Vancouver-Centre for the 2006 federal election. He has cycled through five lawyers since his arrest in late 2010.

He remains in custody and his sentencing will continue on Oct. 8.
