The South Carolina pastor whose wife, Mica Miller, fatally shot herself after slapping him with divorce papers has been accused of raping a 15-year-old girl nearly 30 years ago — and using his church as a “sexual playground,” a new lawsuit claims.

Pastor John Paul Miller, 44, allegedly attacked the girl — only identified as “Jane Doe” — in 1998 while at Sunday school at his father’s church, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in Horry County Circuit Court.

Miller, then 19, allegedly took the girl into his dad’s office at the All Nations Church before forcing her outside to his truck, where he sexually assaulted her, court papers alleged.

The girl was a virgin at the time, according to the suit.

She claims Miller — the controversial pastor at Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach — assaulted her again years later when she ran into him during a trip to the city in 2023.

The pastor leaned in to give her a hug before suddenly shoving “his hand down her pants touching her genitals without consent,” the suit alleged.

That's just evil.

The accuser alleged that Miller later tried to use a Bible verse to justify the attack, telling her: “No man is without sin and temptation. God understands that.”

The suit, which also names All Nations Church and Solid Rock Church as defendants, accuses him and other leaders of covering up a pattern of alleged abuse over the years.

“This church was JPM’s sexual playground,” the suit claimed.

The alleged victim said she felt “immense guilt” after learning about the death of Miller’s wife last year — and believed if she’d spoken up sooner, she could have prevented more harm.  

“She had heard that there were multiple other victims over the years,” her attorney Randall Hood told WBTV. “And it is her hope that in bringing light to the situation, that it will keep it from ever happening again.”

Miller has faced national scrutiny ever since his 30-year-old wife was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head in North Carolina’s Lumber River State Park on April 27, 2024 — just days after serving him with divorce papers.

Mica’s death was ruled a suicide by the Robeson County medical examiner but her family has pleaded for cops to “deeply” investigate her demise amid allegations the pastor had abused his wife.

She had contacted police several times in the leadup to her suicide to level allegations against her husband — including that he had “groomed” her when she was a teen before they got married in 2017.

The pastor, for his part, has strenuously denied any allegations of grooming and abuse.

He has also previously said his wife suffered from mental illness, had made previous attempts to take her own life and was hospitalized on multiple occasions.

That should be easy enough to verify.

Miller’s attorney declined to comment on the rape lawsuit when reached by the local outlet.  

If Dolan counts Muslims as his brothers and sisters, he should dismiss Christians as such. Muslims deny the death and resurrection of Jesus and are therefore antiChristian. 

And Dolan's a Cardinal. It shows you what kind of trouble the Catholic Church is really in. It's time to flee to the wilderness.

Cardinal Dolan hails Ramadan as ‘season of penance for our Islamic brothers and sisters’

Cardinal Timothy Dolan is the Roman Catholic Archbishop of New York. He is all wrong about Ramadan, and foolishly so. It is not a season of penance. It is a season for Muslims to redouble their efforts to please Allah. The highest form of service to Allah, according to Muhammad, is jihad, which principally involves warfare against unbelievers. A hadith has a Muslim asking Muhammad: “Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward).” Muhammad replied, “I do not find such a deed.” (Bukhari 4.52.44) So what better way to increase one’s devotion to Allah than by waging jihad? Every Ramadan, therefore, we see an increase in jihad attacks.

Dolan also calls Muslims the “brothers and sisters” of Roman Catholics. In fact, that is not how Muslims regard Christians. Is Dolan aware of these Qur’an passages? (Spoiler: no, he isn’t.)

Qur’an 98:4-6: “Nor were the people of the book divided until after the clear proof came to them. And they are not ordered to do anything else but serve Allah, keeping religion pure for him, as hanifs, and to establish prayer and to give alms. That is true religion. Indeed, the unbelievers among the people of the book and the idolaters will remain in the fire of Gehenna. They are the most vile of created beings.”

Qur’an 5:14: “And with those who say: Indeed, we are Christians, we made a covenant, but they forgot a part of what they were reminded about. Therefore we have stirred up enmity and hatred among them until the day of resurrection, when Allah will inform them of their handiwork.”

Qur’an 5:17: “They indeed have disbelieved who say, Indeed, Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. Say, Who then can do anything against Allah, if he had willed to destroy the Messiah son of Mary, and his mother and everyone on earth? To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. He creates what he wills. And Allah is able to do all things.”

Qur’an 4:157: “And because of their saying, We killed the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, the messenger of Allah, they did not kill him nor crucify him, but it seemed so to them, and indeed, those who disagree about this are in doubt about it, they have no knowledge of it except pursuit of a supposition, they did not kill him for certain.

Qur’an 4:171: “O people of the book, do not exaggerate in your religion or say anything about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and his word that he conveyed to Mary, and a spirit from him. So believe in Allah and his messengers, and do not say Three, Stop, it is better for you. Allah is only one God. It is far removed from his transcendent majesty that he should have a son. Everything that is in the heavens and everything that is on the earth is his. And Allah is sufficient as defender.”

Qur’an 5:116: “And when Allah said, O Jesus, son of Mary, did you say to mankind, Take me and my mother as two gods besides Allah? He said, Be glorified. It was not for me to say what I had no right to say. If I said it, then you know it. You know what is in my mind, and I do not know what is in your mind. Indeed, you, only you, are the knower of hidden things.”

Qur’an 19:35: “It is not fitting for Allah that he should take to himself a son. Glory be to him, when he decrees a thing, he says to it only, Be, and it is.”

Qur’an 9:30-31: “And the Jews say, Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say, The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the statements of those who disbelieved before. May Allah curse them. How perverse they are. They have taken as lords besides Allah their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah, the son of Mary, when they were called to worship only one God. There is no God except him. May he be glorified from all that they ascribe as partners.”

Qur’an 9:29: “Fight against those do not believe in Allah or the last day, and do not forbid what Allah and his messenger have forbidden, and do not follow the religion of truth, even if they are among the people of the book, until they pay the jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued.”

He also praises Muslims for taking Ramadan so seriously. Is he aware (spoiler: no) of how often Muslims (and non-Muslims) are punished for not observing Ramadan? Observance of Ramadan is all too often a matter of fear, not devotion.

That is because Islam is a religion of legalism. Jesus set us free from the law and Mohammed put his followers right back under it. Not God's law, but his law.

US Bishop Claims 'Homosexual Subculture' Within Catholic Hierarchy Behind 'Sickening' Child Sex Abuse

A U.S. bishop has claimed that a "homosexual subculture" exists within the "hierarchy of the Catholic Church," which is leading to the mass child sex abuse scandals.

U.S. Bishop Robert Morlino of Madison, Wisconsin, wrote in a pastoral letter on Saturday that there is "justified anger" being directed at Catholic leadership over the Pennsylvania grand jury report, released last week, which revealed how 301 priests who abused over 1,000 children over decades were protected by the institution.

Morlino said that the abuse detailed in the 1,300-page report is "sickening," but insisted that it is not just pedophilia that is the problem. "[W]e are talking about deviant sexual — almost exclusively homosexual — acts by clerics."

"It is time to admit that there is a homosexual subculture within the hierarchy of the Catholic Church that is wreaking great devastation in the vineyard of the Lord. The Church's teaching is clear that the homosexual inclination is not in itself sinful, but it is intrinsically disordered in a way that renders any man stably afflicted by it unfit to be a priest," he wrote.

Morlino continued in his strong-worded letter by stating that "the decision to act upon this disordered inclination is a sin so grave that it cries out to heaven for vengeance, especially when it involves preying upon the young or the vulnerable. Such wickedness should be hated with a perfect hatred. Christian charity itself demands that we should hate wickedness just as we love goodness."

While many of the young victims in the report were boys, some were also girls, including a 7-year-old girl. She was raped by a priest who visited her in the hospital after she had undergone surgery to remove her tonsils.

Moral theologian Janet E. Smith, a professor at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, has also commented on the so-called "lavender mafia" of homosexual networks within the church hierarchy.

"Certainly in the Curia"

"The deeper problem is the presence of homosexual networks in the Church — likely in dioceses all over the world and certainly in the Curia. Yes, there are lots of other immoral behaviors — adultery, greed, luxuriousness, clericalism and substance abuse, for instance, that need to be addressed but first things first," Smith claimed earlier this month.

"Eradicating the homosexual networks from the Church would do a lot to purging the Church of immoral priests — and doing so should help us get at the other problems."

Blame over the latest revelations of mass sex abuse in the Catholic Church has been pointed at different directions.

The U S. Conference of Catholic Bishops said through its president, Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of Galveston-Houston, that the abuse and the cover-ups have produced "sadness, anger, and shame."

In his official letter last week, Galveston-Houston admitted that he and his fellow U.S. bishops have failed in certain aspects.

"Whatever the details may turn out to be regarding Archbishop McCarrick or the many abuses in Pennsylvania (or anywhere else), we already know that one root cause is the failure of episcopal leadership," he said, in reference to former Washington, D.C., Archbishop Theodore Edgar McCarrick, who has also been accused of serious sexual misconduct allegations.

When the episcopal leadership is made up of a certain number of homosexual predators, how can leadership do anything but fail. These are not godly men! These are sheep in wolves clothing who are all about satisfying their own perverted urges rather than serving the Lord. Indeed, they cannot possibly know the Lord and continue in their perversion.

"The result was that scores of beloved children of God were abandoned to face an abuse of power alone. This is a moral catastrophe. It is also part of this catastrophe that so many faithful priests who are pursuing holiness and serving with integrity are tainted by this failure."

Scores of children??? How about tens of thousands and possibly hundreds of thousands! Scores? Are you serious?

Some prominent Catholics are also calling on current D.C. Archbishop Cardinal Donald Wuerl to resign for not doing enough to tackle the sex abuse, though the latter has defended himself.

"While I understand this report may be critical of some of my actions, I believe the report confirms that I acted with diligence, with concern for the victims and to prevent future acts of abuse. I sincerely hope that a just assessment of my actions, past and present, and my continuing commitment to the protection of children will dispel any notions otherwise made by this report," Wuerl wrote in a statement last week.

Reuters found that Catholic churchgoers in Pennsylvania have also been left "sickened" by all that is being revealed, but are not losing faith.

Faith in what? Faith in Jesus Christ or faith in the church? Because they should lose faith in the church, it is so far off-track. John, in the Revelation of Jesus Christ calls the Catholic Church - The Whore of Babylon, and prophecies it horrific destruction.

Six Roman Catholic dioceses in Pennsylvania joined the list this week of those around the U.S. that have been forced to face the ugly truth about child-molesting priests in their ranks.

But in dozens of other dioceses, there has been no reckoning, leading victims to wonder if the church will ever truly take responsibility or be held accountable.

“It happens everywhere, so it’s not really so much a question of where has it happened, but instead, where has word gotten out, where is information about it accessible?” said Terry McKiernan, founder of BishopAccountability.org, a Massachusetts-based non-profit group that tracks clergy sexual abuse cases.

Since the crisis exploded in Boston in 2002, dioceses around the country have dealt with similar revelations of widespread sexual abuse, with many of them forced to come clean by aggressive plaintiffs’ attorneys, assertive prosecutors or relentless journalists.

In a few instances, namely in Tucson, Arizona, and Seattle, dioceses voluntarily named names.

15 Dioceses; 3 Orders bankrupt

Dioceses in Boston; Los Angeles; Seattle; Portland, Oregon; Denver; San Diego; Louisville, Kentucky; and Dallas have all paid multimillion-dollar settlements to victims. Fifteen dioceses and three Catholic religious orders have filed for bankruptcy to deal with thousands of lawsuits.

Still, only about 40 of the nearly 200 dioceses in the U.S. have released lists of priests accused of abusing children, and there have been only nine investigations by a prosecutor or grand jury of a Catholic diocese or archdiocese in the U.S., according to BishopAccountability.org.

In many of the dioceses that have been examined, the numbers have been staggering: in the six Pennsylvania dioceses, 300 abusive priests and more than 1,000 victims since the 1940s; in Boston, at least 250 priests and more than 500 victims.

All told, U.S. bishops have acknowledged that more than 17,000 people nationwide have reported being molested by priests and others in the church going back to 1950.

Phil Saviano, a Massachusetts man who said he was sexually abused by a priest in 1960s beginning at age 11, said he hopes the grand jury report in Pennsylvania will prompt attorneys general in other states to conduct similar investigations. He said he doubts dioceses will release names unless forced to do so.

“My personal feeling is that none of them are going to come forward voluntarily. It’s always going to take some pressure from the public, the parishioners or legal authorities,” said Saviano, whose story was one of many exposed by The Boston Globe in its 2002 Pulitzer Prize-winning series and later in the Oscar-winning movie “Spotlight.”

Mitchell Garabedian, a Boston lawyer who estimates he has represented 3,000 clergy sex abuse victims from around the world since the 1990s, said he has sent letters detailing about two dozen allegations of abuse against priests from dioceses in Michigan, Ohio and Rhode Island and received similar responses from all three.

“They say, ‘We feel very sorry for your clients, but it’s outside the statute of limitations,’” Garabedian said, adding, “The church knows there is no legal recourse, so the church says it will not act responsibly and will not act appropriately.”

Legally, they are free from consequences. Morally, they don't seem to know that they will stand before Jesus Christ one day and answer for their moral failures.

In many states, statutes of limitations allow people abused as children to file civil claims up until only age 21 or slightly older. In Massachusetts and other states hit hard by the crisis, those statutes were amended after the scandal erupted. But in many other states, the laws have remained unchanged.

The Pennsylvania grand jury said that in almost every case there, the statute of limitations for bringing criminal charges has run out.

In fact, there were only 2 out of 300 Catholic predators who could be charged.

Echoing what was discovered in Boston and other places, the grand jury report accused senior church officials of hushing up allegations against priests, in some cases by shuffling them from parish to parish.

Not only did that cover-up the abuses, but it enabled the predators to keep on feeding their perversion, at the expense of innocent children, of course.

In a statement, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee for the Protection of Children and Young People expressed sorrow over the Pennsylvania findings and said: “We are committed to work in determined ways so that such abuse cannot happen.”

In recent years, the U.S. bishops have adopted widespread reforms, including mandatory criminal background checks for priests and lay employees, a requirement that abuse allegations be reported to law enforcement, the suspension of priests while they are being investigated, and permanent removal from ministry when accusations are substantiated.

The Rev. Thomas Reese, a Jesuit priest who is a senior analyst for the Religion News Service, noted such reforms but said the Pennsylvania grand jury report should be a “wake-up call” to other dioceses that they need to hire outside groups to do independent investigations, then must publish the results. But he said he is doubtful that will happen.

“A lot of bishops feel, ‘Hey, that was done before I got here. I regret that it happened, I’m sorry that it happened, but we’ve changed, this is no longer happening under my watch because of the procedures we’ve put in place,’” Reese said.

“If they had just gotten all of the dirt out at the very beginning, all at the same time, then we wouldn’t be suffering death by 1,000 cuts. It’s just place after place, and frankly, it’s the same story in every place.”

The need for a congressional inquiry is desperate. All these victims need to tell their story and have them believed. All predators need to be held accountable if they are still of this world. And all Bishops, Archbishops, and Cardinals need to be held accountable for covering up the abuse and for enabling the abusers as was the norm for many decades. If it ends up that every single diocese in the USA goes bankrupt - I can't see how that would be a bad thing. The Whore of Babylon will soon come to an end; will we wait for the Lord to do it Himself on His return, or should we start the reckoning now?
