The boy was beaten with a bed slat, whipped with an extension cable and stabbed with a needle before he died on August 13 last year.
Sebastian's "supposed caregivers" - his mum Agnieszka Kalinowska, 35, and her long-term partner Andrzej Latoszewski, 38 - were both found guilty of his murder.
And today, Kalinowska and Latoszewski were jailed for life with a minimum term of 39 years at Leeds Crown Court.

The jury previously heard how the pair laughed as they tortured the boy during their campaign of evil abuse.
In a chilling victim impact statement, Sebastian's devastated dad branded Kalinowska and Latoszewski "ruthless monsters without an ounce of human feeling".
He asked his son's mother: "What kind of mother are you?"
Dad Jacek Kalinowski told the court: "I am the father of Sebastian Kalinowski. There is not a crime crueller than murder, especially when it involves a child.
"You turned every day in his life into a nightmare and committed monstrosities that are truly mindboggling.
"I will never comprehend how much hatred it takes to do such thing. The question is why? Why did you hate him to such a degree you let that psychopath treat him like that?
"How could you let your child be harmed? You took everything from him - his dignity and life.
"You hit him with an extension cable, a wooden slat. Who gave you the right to raise your hand against your child?"
Speaking to Latoszewski he said: "You made my son a punchbag for yourself. You were merciless and destroyed him every single day.
"You were truly a brutal tyrant. Why do you hate him so much?"
Sentencing Kalinowska and Latoszewski, Mrs Justice Lambert told them: "You, Latoszewski, are a bully.
"Like all bullies, you sought to intimidate and frighten Sebastian, who was weaker than you.
"In Sebastian you found an easy prey.
"There were times when viewing the footage I was sure you had lost awareness of the fact that you were hitting a human being and not a punching bag.
"As for you, Kalinowska, the explanation is simple, you just didn't care about Sebastian. You were only interested in yourself."
A jury previously heard how 15-year-old Sebastian had been in the UK for less than a year after moving from Poland to live with his mother and her boyfriend.
It was not long after moving here that the youngster started being subjected to a campaign of "torture".
After the couple were arrested in connection with Sebastian's death, police seized CCTV cameras from their house in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, which prosecutors said had been installed partly to "monitor and exert control over Sebastian remotely".
But prosecutor Jason Pitter KC previously told the court: "In a twist, it is that system that has recorded the abuse he had to endure."
Jurors heard that on the morning of Sebastian's final day, he went through "the routine of being assaulted by both defendants".
Mr Pitter said CCTV showed Latoszewski taking Sebastian out of the bedroom at 8.25am, before carrying him back around 15 minutes later, "naked, clearly wet and unconscious".
He said: "Whilst some limited efforts were made by Latoszewski to perform CPR, the reality is it may have been too late as Sebastian showed no sign of life once he was brought back into the bedroom.
"At 9.24am, Latoszewski appeared to be trying to pour water into Sebastian's mouth before then blowing into it.
"Was that the beginnings of an attempt to give the impression that Sebastian had drowned by trying to force water into his airways?"
When emergency services were eventually called to the house, Sebastian had been unconscious for two and a half hours, the Crown Prosecution Service said.
He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Latoszewski suggested variously that Sebastian had drowned in the bath, had fallen from a tree, and had been in a fight.
Videos showed numerous incidents in which Sebastian was repeatedly punched, kicked and stamped on. In one video, he was shown being whipped with a cable.
The teenager was shown being force fed and, in one incident, had a slipper shoved into his mouth with such force that he bled.
Senior Crown prosecutor Daniel Lee said: "Agniewska Kalinowska and Andresz Latoszewski were the two people Sebastian should have been able to trust the most in the world but instead of loving, protecting and caring for Sebastian, they subjected him to an utterly horrific and prolonged campaign of extreme physical and mental abuse.
"In short, they tortured him. After suffering many months of mental and physical torment, Sebastian died of the multiple injuries he sustained at their hands.
"Both defendants lied and offered cowardly and implausible explanations for the extent of Sebastian's injuries, and attempted to pass it off as 'appropriate discipline'.
"It is impossible to contemplate the agony and fear this young boy experienced, inflicted in his own home, by his supposed caregivers."
"The defendants are now facing very many years in prison. Our thoughts remain with Sebastian's other relatives and we sincerely hope the successful outcome of this case will bring them some comfort."
Kalinowska and Latoszewski initially denied murdering Sebastian.
But, Latoszewski admitted manslaughter on the second day of the trial, while both defendants pleaded guilty to child cruelty a day later.
The question is: how much were drugs involved in this madness? Insanity like this should always trigger an investigation of how much drugs were involved.

KITCHENER — A sexual predator who lured nine girls, encouraged the sexual abuse of two others and told one girl to kill herself has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Daniel Bergsma, 32, pleaded guilty to 24 crimes — nine counts of luring, five of making sexually explicit material available to a child, five of making child pornography, two of making child pornography available, and one count each of invitation to sexual touching, making an arrangement to commit a sexual offence against a child, and possessing child pornography.
“Over a number of years, Mr. Bergsma engaged in a predatory rampage with a callous disregard for the devastation left in his wake,” Justice Pamela Borghesan said Thursday in sentencing the Kitchener man.
“It is often said that children are the most vulnerable members of society ... We must do what we can to protect them from sexually deviant predators.”
Is 13 years the best you can do, your honour? He will be out before he is 40 and will be back in the business of destroying young girls. How is that protecting children?
Bergsma’s crimes stretched from 2016 to 2021 when he was arrested. In online conversations, which he often recorded, he robbed girls of their self-worth and manipulated them for his own sexual gratification, court was told.
He sent them explicit sexual photos of himself and encouraged them to reciprocate.
One girl was 15 when Bergsma initiated conversation with her online. He knew she was a child.
They talked about sexual acts between them, including sadism and bondage and “described the sexual assault of a newborn and the rape of a five-year-old,” court was told.
He convinced the girl to send explicit sexual images and videos of herself.
“At the end of the conversation, (she) discussed suicide and having a plan to take her own life,” the judge said in a recap of the case.
“Mr. Bergsma encouraged her to commit suicide and said: ‘Go ahead and kill yourself. You’re a lying little slut who uses men to make yourself feel better. F — you, slit your wrist and die.’ ”
That should be worth 13 years alone!
The girl did not kill herself but her interactions with Bergsma had a profound effect on her life.
“Mr. Bergsma’s luring offences did not involve a police undercover operation,” the judge said. “Each luring offence involved trauma inflicted on actual children.”
Another girl, also 15, communicated with him by video over a long stretch, often for an hour a day. He knew she was a child.
“Mr. Bergsma told her he wanted to marry her and have children with her and have her move to Kitchener when she turned 18,” the judge said. “Mr. Bergsma manipulated (her), making her feel bad about herself and making her concerned that he was going to kill himself.”
He convinced her to send him sexually explicit photos and videos of herself. He also encouraged her to record herself “making out” with her 11-year-old sister, court was told.
Bergsma talked about sex with another girl, 17. He met her and had sexual contact with her in his car and his apartment.
He tried to have sexual contact with another 17-year-old girl. Meetings were set up but she always cancelled.
Bergsma sometimes told girls his real age; other times he claimed to be 17.
He also had disturbing discussions on Snapchat with a man in the United States. They traded child pornography. The man sent Bergsma files he made of two young girls — one who was still in diapers — engaged in sexually explicit activity, court was told. The American had been babysitting them. He was arrested by the FBI.

Bergsma had encouraged the man to take part in “the active sexual abuse of children,” the judge said.
“Mr. Bergsma’s encouragement and enjoyment of that conduct can only be described as depraved,” she said. “The luring of nine separate young people with no consideration for their well-being — including urging one to commit suicide — is equally disturbing.”
A police search of Bergsma’s cellphones and laptop found 2,067 unique child pornography images and 760 videos. “Mr. Bergsma’s collection ... included some of the most vile type of images, including depictions of infants, sadism and bestiality,” the judge said.
That should be another 13 years!
The judge put Bergsma on the sex offender registry for 20 years. For 30 years, he can’t go places where children are known to be. He can’t work or volunteer in a position of trust over children. He can’t use the internet for social media or sharing files. He must give a DNA sample for the national database.
Crown prosecutor Cynthia Jennison asked for a 16-year prison sentence; defence lawyer Bruce Ritter recommended eight years.
Why only 16 years Cynthia? Why not 39 years?
Bergsma, who has no prior criminal record, got credit for pleading guilty, sparing the young victims from testifying. The pleas are also a sign of remorse, the judge said.
“I am horrified and disgusted in myself,” Bergsma told the judge before being sentenced. “I’m truly sorry to each and every girl that I victimized. What I did was truly wrong.”
He blamed depression and loneliness. He said he was a victim of sexual abuse as a child.
There is no excuse for child sex abuse!
Borghesan said the sentence must focus on denunciation and general deterrence.
“He inflicted harm on numerous children to satisfy his selfish, sexual appetite, giving no thought to the trauma he was causing,” she said. “A loud and clear message must be sent to the community that those who prey on young children for their own sexual gratification will face a long time in jail.”
I am not convinced that this is a 'loud and clear message'.
Double murderer David Fuller admits further mortuary sexual abuse

The double murderer David Fuller has admitted sexually abusing 23 dead women in hospital mortuaries.
The 68-year-old pleaded guilty at Croydon crown court on Thursday to 12 counts of sexual penetration of a corpse and four counts of possession of extreme pornography between 2007 and 2020.
Fuller, who beat and strangled Wendy Knell, 25, and Caroline Pierce, 20, to death before sexually assaulting them in two separate attacks in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, in 1987, was sentenced to a whole-life term last year.
He had pleaded guilty to murdering Knell and Pierce, as well as 51 other offences, including 44 charges relating to 78 victims in mortuaries between 2008 and November 2020.
Fuller filmed himself abusing corpses in the now closed Kent and Sussex hospital and in Tunbridge Wells hospital in Pembury, where he had worked as an electrician since 1989.
Kent police said an investigation had led to evidence relating to a total of 101 victims, and the latest charges related to the 23 remaining victims, all of whom were deceased adult women. Ten have not been identified.
Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb said Fuller, who appeared in court by video link from HMP Frankland, must appear in person when she sentenced him in the week starting 5 December, probably at the Old Bailey.
Prosecutor Michael Bisgrove said victim personal statements were being prepared.
“There are many family members of the victims who would like to attend court in one way or another, some of whom who would wish to read their victim personal statements to the court,” he said.
The government has announced an independent inquiry into how Fuller went undetected until being arrested for what have been called the “bedsit murders” on 3 December 2020, after new analysis of decades-old DNA evidence.
Knell was found dead in her Guildford Road flat on 23 June 1987, while Pierce was snatched five months later on 24 November outside her home in Grosvenor Park. Her naked body was discovered in a water-filled dyke in the Kent village of St Mary in the Marsh on 15 December.
Police discovered a library of images of Fuller attacking corpses when officers searched his three-bedroom semi-detached home in the town of Heathfield, East Sussex, where he lived with his family.
The victims included a nine-year-old girl, two 16-year-olds and a 100-year-old woman.
