Ex-Queen’s bodyguard jailed for sexually assaulting two six-y/o girls

Yahoo News UK Jimmy Nsubuga, 17 October 2020

A former Queen's bodyguard has been jailed for sexually assaulting two six-year-old girls and taking pictures of naked young children.

Oliver Cooper
, 27, an ex-soldier in the Household Cavalry for four years, was locked up for his actions while he was a Beaver Scouts leader.

The paedophile was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault on a girl aged six, sexual assault on another girl also aged six, one count of taking indecent photographs of a child and 13 counts of voyeurism.

He was sentenced to six years in prison at Lewes Crown Court on Thursday.

Detectives from the West Sussex Safeguarding Investigation Unit probed Cooper after a child came forward in 2018 to say she had been sexually touched by the scout leader.

He was arrested and indecent images and videos of children getting undressed in private were found on his phone and laptop.

During the course of the investigation, a further child came forward to say she had also been sexually assaulted.

Detective Constable Rees Hopcraft, from Sussex Police, said: “The young girls involved showed tremendous bravery throughout the investigation and were supported by specially trained officers. Despite the overwhelming evidence, Cooper continued to protest his innocence and thus forced the victims to give evidence, which was done via a video link to the court.

"In sentencing, Judge Stephen Mooney commented on Cooper's lack of remorse and the 'colossal breach of trust' involved. "Prior to his scouting role he was a law student at Sussex University, and a soldier in the Household Cavalry where he served for four years in the UK."

Police said the Scouts Association had given full-co-operation, and that parents of all children who were in the scouting group have been kept informed. There is no current safeguarding risk to any child.

Cooper, from Hopton in Staffordshire, will be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Japan to survey cases of sexual violence among abused children

KYODO NEWS - 13 hours ago - 20:30 |

Japan's welfare ministry has begun a survey of child abuse cases to see if the victims also suffered from sexual violence, with an eye to tackling the most difficult cases particularly if they occur within a family, officials said Saturday.

The survey was prompted by the high-profile death of 10-year-old Mia Kurihara in January last year due to physical abuse at her home in Chiba Prefecture, as she revealed when temporarily in protective custody that she had also suffered sexual abuse, they said.

Photo shows a building that houses the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare as well as the Environment Ministry in Tokyo on Aug. 17, 2018. (Kyodo)

In the survey, the ministry is asking all 220 child consultation centers across Japan to report cases in which they initially did not know but later discovered that the abused children had also been exposed to sexual abuse.

The centers are authorized to offer temporary protection to abused children, give guidance to parents and enter homes when necessary for inspection, and have been dealing with an increasing number of child abuse cases in recent years.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare plans to compile a report by March next year, the officials said.

Of 159,838 cases of child abuse reported or referred to the consultation centers in fiscal 2018, 55.3 percent involved psychological abuse, 25.2 percent physical abuse, 18.4 percent neglect, and only 1.1 percent sexual abuse.

But experts see the marginal showing of sexual violence in data as just the "tip of the iceberg" because victims often keep their situations secret, particularly when abusers are within the family, for fear that divulging their plight could lead to breaking up the family.

Before her death, for which Mia's father has been sentenced to 16 years in prison but is appealing, the fourth grade girl was taken to one of the centers after a school questionnaire revealed her father's violence.

Even though she spoke of her sexual abuse, the temporary shelter let her go back home without taking any special measures, according to the prefectural government which looked into the case.

"At present, there is a risk that sexually abused children cannot receive care if their cases are not recognized as also involving sexual violence," a ministry official said.

There are also other cases of repeated sexual offenses against children at home that have come to light in Japan, including one in which a father was found guilty by the Nagoya High Court of sexually abusing his daughter.

A social environment should be created to make it easier for children to complain of sexual abuse and get protection without suffering any detrimental treatment, said Hiroyuki Suzuki, an associate professor at Rissho University who is an expert on child welfare.

This is a good step, perhaps a first step, in Japan dealing with and admitting that incest exists and is far more common than believed. Japanese have considerable issues with pride and therefore there is significant stigma on this subject. It has to be overcome before any significant progress can be made in keeping children safe from child sexual abuse.

Mystery royal 'was part of suspected paedophile ring being investigated by Scotland Yard but the inquiry was shut down for national security reasons'

By AMANDA WILLIAMS FOR MAILONLINE
PUBLISHED: 10:35 EDT, 22 March 2015

A member of the royal family was involved in a suspected paedophile ring, an ex-policeman has claimed.

But investigations into the allegations were 'shut down for national security reasons', the former Metropolitan police officer said.

The officer said he was told by fellow officers that both a royal and an MP had both been identified as part of a major child abuse inquiry in the late 1980s.

A member of the royal family was involved in a suspected paedophile ring, an ex-policeman has claimed. But investigations into the allegations were 'shut down for national security reasons', the former Metropolitan police officer said (stock picture)

He told the Sunday Mirror how a detective sergeant from Marylebone police station in London - who also named actor Oliver Reed in separate claims - revealed the investigation had been pulled for national security reasons.

The source said: 'I was in a car with two other vice squad officers. They were discussing a madam who had provided a girl of about 15 to Oliver Reed.

'The detective sergeant said he had just had a major child abuse investigation shut down by the CPS regarding a royal and an MP.

'He did not mention names, but he said the CPS had said it was not in the public's interest because it "could destabilise national security".'

Sir Allan Green, Director of Public Prosecutions, told the Sunday Mirror he was not aware of any paedophile investigations shut down for national security reasons. He added that he'd been asked if he knew anything about an MP being involved in child abuse but he hadn't.

The information has since been passed on to police.

The news comes after it was revealed that Scotland Yard has been accused of facilitating 14 cover-ups of VIP child sex abuse.

Dossier: Labour MP John Mann (pictured) last year submitted an explosive dossier to police naming 22 politicians linked to historical child abuse

Over 35 years, officers are said to have protected ‘untouchable’ figures by shutting down inquiries that reached the heart of government.

The 14 alleged cover-ups were referred to watchdogs by the Metropolitan Police Service itself yesterday. It threatens to be the biggest investigation into police corruption since the 1970s.

The allegations were uncovered by detectives probing claims of historical sex abuse first raised by Labour MP Tom Watson in October 2012.

Those on the inquiry, known as Operation Fairbank, are understood to have raised concerns after studying files kept in storage. The claims include one that police deliberately stalled their inquiries into the Elm Guest House, in Barnes, south-west London, leaving dozens of boys to be abused.

Victims claim that high-profile politicians, diplomats and civil servants visited the property to abuse boys in the 1970s and 1980s.

Officers are also accused of releasing paedophile MP Cyril Smith without charge after he was caught in an undercover operation at a sex party involving teenage boys.

Police are also accused of failing to end sex parties at the now notorious Dolphin Square complex, in Pimlico, central London, following the intervention of ‘prominent people’. It is claimed that members of a wealthy and powerful elite believed they were ‘untouchable’ after police were warned off shutting down the sordid activities.

One senior figure under the spotlight is former Tory home secretary William Whitelaw, who is accused of demanding that police drop an inquiry into a paedophile ring. The politician, one of Margaret Thatcher’s closest allies, is suspected of quashing a year-long investigation into a gang accused of abusing 40 children.

Other inquiries focus on claims that the names of high-profile sex attackers were removed from witness statements and that police deliberately let senior politicians off the hook.

One inquiry is examining allegations that Special Branch seized a dossier naming 16 MPs and peers handed to an investigative journalist by a former Labour minister.

Paedophile: A detective says he was ordered to cover up Cyril Smith's crimes by senior colleagues

Unbelievably, two undercover officers are themselves suspected of sexually abusing a boy during a raid at the Elm Guest House. The IPCC is still considering two further cases, including the shadowy murder of eight-year-old Vishal Mehrotra in July 1981.

His family believes he may have fallen into the hands of members of the VIP sex ring and evidence leading to their door was deliberately ignored.

Sarah Green, of the IPCC, said police and her officials were examining claims that evidence was suppressed, investigations were hindered and halted and offences covered up.

‘These allegations are of historic, high level corruption of the most serious nature,’ she said. ‘Allegations of this nature are of grave concern and I would like to reassure people of our absolute commitment to ensuring that the investigations are thorough and robust.’

Defending the decision to ‘manage’ the Met inquiry, rather than undertake an independent one, she said: ‘The new criminal investigations looking at alleged police corruption are closely linked and well under way.’

Mrs Green said this decision remained under review and could be changed if new evidence came to light. Responding to the inquiries, Mr Watson said many child abuse victims will have mixed feelings but will be pleased that their voices are now being heard.

The Anna Finseraasen Case - Estonian Mom Flees Norway
with Children for Russia

They were granted temporary asylum in Russia

Recently I received an appeal from the Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child in the Ryazan Region. I was asked to stand up for the rights of the underage daughters of Anna Finseraasen, an Estonian citizen with Russian roots, who currently live in St. Petersburg, and to take their case under personal control with an appeal to all government authorities relevant to this issue in order to stop the process aimed at canceling the temporary asylum granted to the family in Russia, with the further extradition of children to Norway.

In February of this year, Anna's story received wide media coverage. Together with two small daughters, 9-year-old Adelina and 8-year-old Lois, she has been hiding in Russia for more than six months from her ex-husband, a citizen of Norway, whom she suspects of harassing (actually, sexually abusing) her own children.

And it all started quite well. Anna was born and raised in Tallinn, trained as a general nurse, and left for Norway in 2009 and got a job in a nursing home. There she met the orderly Josten Finseraasen. According to the woman, all patients treated him with great confidence, and he himself gave the impression of a caring and sensitive person. They got married a few months later. In 2010, the couple had a daughter, Adeline, and a year later, Loise.

According to information received from Anna, after the wedding, the husband began to show psychological and then physical violence. In addition, she convicted him of pedophilia in relation to his own daughters. In December 2012, the woman filed for divorce, secretly issuing Estonian documents for the children. After a medical examination, which confirmed the abuse of minors, a criminal case was opened against the man, he was kept in custody for seven months, but then released. For three years, Adeline and Loise had to travel to their father without their mother's accompaniment.

The court later awarded him sole custody of the children. The woman could not challenge this decision and fled to Russia with her daughters. On January 4, 2020, they flew to Moscow, and from there to one of the monasteries in the Yaroslavl Region. Anna was helped by human rights activists who found a free shelter and put the girls in school.

It was not the woman's plans to hide. Having received a certificate of temporary asylum, she was sure that her children would be under the protection of the Russian Federation for at least a year, if necessary, even more - as long as necessary to protect them from the threat posed by their father, and to restore justice and legality through the European Court of Human Rights.

Until April 21, 2021, by the decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Yaroslavl Region, “on humane grounds, taking into account the current unfavorable epidemiological situation,” Anna and the girls were granted temporary asylum on the territory of our country. The father's lawyer, in turn, turned to Interpol to find the children.

The case of Anna Finseraasen is legally extremely complex and politically resonant, and therefore affects the prestige of the Russian Federation. Having studied the rulings of the court of the Republic of Estonia that came into force, as well as all the materials presented, I paid special attention to the position of the Estonian employees of the child protection service and familiarization with the complex psychological and psychiatric opinion of experts. Taking into account the petition of the Metropolitan of Tallinn and All Estonia, Eugene to provide support to Anna, after discussing the information received with my colleagues, I met with her and took the situation under my personal control.

Granting Anna and her children temporary asylum in Russia should be considered as taking them for a specified period under the protection of the state. A person who has been granted temporary asylum in the Russian Federation cannot be returned against his will to the territory of the country of his former place of residence. I am ready to provide the family with legal assistance in order to prevent the compulsory execution of the Estonian court order on the transfer of girls to the custody of their father to live with him in Norway.

Bless you, Anna Vladimirovna Mityanina, for taking this case on.

Thank you Jon-Arild for bringing this to my attention.

People, please pray for the protection of Anna and the girls.

UK: 37-year-old paedophile named Rehan Baig jailed for
raping chickens to death while his wife filmed it

Rehan Baig and his wife Haleema had previously also engaged in sex with a dog and possessed images of the same. They were also in possession of almost 49 indecent images and videos of children being abused-including 11 which were extremely depraved and some featuring children as young as six.

UK: In a repulsive act of bestiality, a 37-year-old man named Rehan Baig was convicted for raping his pet chickens while his wife filmed the depraved act. The Bradford Crown Court in the UK, while sentencing the convict to three-year imprisonment, described Baig as “depraved, despicable and perverted” for executing an act which “would make any right-thinking member of a society sick to their stomach”.

The court had spared Rehan Baig’s wife Haleema Baig, from jail term though she admitted in the court to aiding and abetting the cruel act of her husband. The court let her go after it learnt that the woman had suffered abuse at the hands of her husband Rehan Baig. She has, instead, been handed a six-month suspended sentence.

Baig had allegedly abused the chicken in the basement of the house, which he shared with his wife Haleema. The 38-year-old woman, who allegedly captured the act, also featured in footage of the abuse. The court was told that the man’s wife had joined him in the videos and at one point Rehan alternated between having sex with his wife and the chickens.

Rehan’s wife had reportedly captured the depraved act, using a GoPro camera, and saved it in a folder named ‘family vids’. The wife had also admitted that the depraved acts were done multiple times ‘with differently coloured chickens’.

The two chickens who were sexually assaulted later died. In one video Baig even had sex with the dead animal before stuffing it into a black bin bag.

Aussie football star avoids sexual assault conviction
after dragging nurse into alley

An AFL player has been found not guilty of intent to commit a sexual offense after he was caught on CCTV dragging a nurse into an alleyway, wrestling her to the ground and laying on top of her.

Jackson Williams of the Westmeadows Tigers was found guilty of common assault by judge Mandy Fox for the attack which occurred on October 28, 2018, but Fox said it could not be proven that he intended to sexually assault her.

Shocking footage revealed Williams grab the 39-year-old – who was walking to work at 6:25am in Melbourne’s city center – from behind and drag her into an alleyway, where he proceeded to pin her down and cover her hand with his mouth. (I think the reverse was intended here).

The attack was interrupted when an off-duty police officer from New Zealand – who was on his way to catch a bus to Phillip Island whilst on holiday with his family – heard the woman’s screams for help and ran to intervene.

Judge Fox said: “She tried to fight and grab him and push him away. She was really frightened and scared. Her body was lying on the ground, her face was up, and she kept screaming.”

Prosecutor Stephanie Clancy argued Williams’ intent was clear in the attack: “When a man pulls a woman off the street and into a deserted laneway … it strains credulity to think he could have any other purpose except a sexual one.”

Clancy said the footage did not show evidence that Williams attacked her with the intent to rob her, as he did not appear to attempt to steal the woman’s belongings, such as her phone or backpack, nor did he threaten or make demands of her.

However, Williams’ representative Rosalind Avis said the 21-year-old did not attempt to undress either of them or touch the woman in a sexual way, to which Fox agreed.

“It is important not to approach the question from the point of view of, ‘well what else would he have been intending?’”Fox said. “It seems that whatever intention he formed was formed within seconds, and I find it unlikely he had much of a plan.”

“There is no direct evidence as to the accused’s state of mind,” she added. “I must not guess, speculate or jump to conclusions.”

Ultimately, she concluded: “He did not say or do anything consistent with robbery, but nor did he say or do anything consistent with an intent to commit a sexual assault.”

Probably because he was interfered with before getting around to it. But then, maybe he just wanted to show her his stamp collection?

Williams, who had spent the night clubbing in Melbourne, told police he was intoxicated and did not remember the attack.

He turned himself in the following day after seeing footage of the attack on the news and later pleaded guilty to assault.

He last played for the Westmeadows Tigers in 2019, as the Essendon District Football League’s 2020 season has been cancelled due to the pandemic.

I wonder if the judge is a football fan?

Poor, abused WA girl, 11, takes own life after accused rapist granted bail

By Heather McNeill, Brisbane Times
October 21, 2020 — 8.07am

An 11-year-old girl who was the victim of repeated sexual abuse has died in hospital on Tuesday following a suicide attempt.

The Noongar child had recently taken part in a video interview with police detailing the abuse she suffered, and was scared to learn her accused rapist had been released on bail.

The Noongar are Aboriginal Australian peoples who live in the south-west corner of Western Australia.

She attempted to take her own life in a WA south west town on Monday. Her family were forced to make the devastating decision to turn her life support off at Perth Children's Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

National Suicide Prevention and Trauma Recovery Project director Gerry Georgatos said around 100 relatives filled the ward and slept in their cars overnight to be with the young girl.

"I've never seen the likes of this before, they came from everywhere," he said. "The sea of grief, the outpouring and the number of people breaking down was overwhelming. Children, youth, elders - it was devastating, even the hospital staff and police in attendance were distressed.

"There's so many fails in what has happened to culminate in the loss of an 11-year-old."

Mr Georgatos, along with his colleague Megan Krakouer and the girl's family, are now fighting for the law to be changed to deny accused repeat child sex abusers bail.

"When you've got an alleged offender who's offended more than one time, then there should be no possibility of bail," Mr Georgatos said. "By all accounts, everything put to me by the family, they were in fear of this person."

Mr Georgatos has also called for the state government to do more to support families with young children who are homeless, demanding the most vulnerable be prioritised for housing.

The man accused of abusing the girl, who WAtoday has chosen not to name, is a man in his 60s. He is facing six counts of indecently dealing with a child under 13 and four counts of sexually penetrating a child under 13.

The girl is one of the youngest in Western Australia to die from suicide. Mr Georgatos said children as young as six from impoverished families were attempting to take their own lives and more support needed to be provided.

"We need to invest in social services to improve the life circumstances of these people," he said.

Australian Border Force arrests man after seizing parts of 11 childlike sex dolls

Australian Border Force (ABF) investigators have arrested a 43-year-old Padstow (NSW) man after parts of 11 childlike sex dolls were detected in air cargo shipments.

Investigations began after ABF officers detected and seized the parts in three separate consignments at air cargo facilities in Sydney on 19 September and 16 October 2020. Yesterday (Tuesday 20 October) ABF, with the assistance of NSW Police Force detectives from Bankstown Police Area Command, executed search warrants at an address in Padstow.

During the warrants officers located and seized an electronic device allegedly containing child abuse images, and a further childlike sex doll. A number of additional electronic devices were seized pending full forensic examination. Investigators also located a number of cannabis plants, a quantity of marijuana and publications containing child abuse material.

The man was arrested and charged with three counts of Import Tier 2 good, contrary to section 233BAB(5) of the Customs Act 1901.

Bankstown detectives also charged the man with cultivate prohibited plants and possess prohibited drug.

The man was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Wednesday 21 October 2020).

Importing childlike sex dolls is an offence under the Customs Act. The maximum penalty if convicted is up to 10 years’ imprisonment and/or fines of up to $525,000. Under the Criminal Code the possession of a childlike sex doll attracts a maximum penalty of 15 years’ imprisonment.

ABF Superintendent Regional Investigations NSW Garry Low said the ABF has a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse material and will use all available powers to protect the community from people associated with these abhorrent activities.

“Child sexual abuse is a global issue, and the ABF actively engages with its law enforcement partners both domestically and internationally, to further investigate and prevent harm to children in Australia and overseas,” Superintendent Low said.

The ABF seize all childlike sex dolls detected at the border. Where ABF officers find additional evidence of child abuse material, it is referred to the appropriate federal and state authorities for investigation.

Bankstown Police Area Command Crime Manager, Detective Chief Inspector Darren Beech said the arrest was the result of great work between the two agencies. “We do not condone any form of child exploitation and we will continue to work with other agencies in the detection and prosecution of persons attempting to purchase these items,” Det C/Insp Beech said.

People with information about those who may be importing childlike sex dolls or other child abuse material should contact Border Watch at www.Australia.gov.au/borderwatch. By reporting suspicious activities, you are helping to protect Australia’s border. Information can be provided anonymously.

People, please don't turn away from this. You might think it is none of your business and he's not hurting anyone. Not true! Child sex abuse images require child sex abuse. Perverts using sex dolls will eventually get bored with them and move onto something more real. Sin is progressive!

Five-fold rise in reports of child sex abuse images,
says Irish web watchdog

The vast bulk of the images, both pictures and videos, related to children
under the age of 12.
TUE, 20 OCT, 2020 - 18:30
CORMAC O’KEEFFE, SECURITY CORRESPONDENT, Irish Examiner

There has been a five-fold increase in reports of online child sex abuse imagery over the last two years, according to an industry watchdog.

The vast bulk of the images, both pictures and videos, relate to children under the age of 12, including a small number of toddlers.

The Hotline.ie annual report for 2019 stated that almost 70% of the imagery was of the most severe kind in terms of the abuse of children.

The report found that one in five of the websites displaying child sexual abuse images and videos had a paywall alongside “preview” images of further content.

Hotline.ie receives confidential reports from members of the Irish public concerned at extreme imagery, particularly child abuse material, they come across online.

Figures from the annual report show:

2,575 reports of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in 2019, compared to 1,437 in 2018 and 524 in 2017 — reflecting a five-fold increase over two years;
A quarter of the 10,773 reports to Hotline.ie were classified as CSAM in 2019, compared to an eighth of all reports in 2018;
83% of the children are aged four to 12, and 7% are aged under three;
83% of the children in the images are girls, 3% are boys,  and 10% are a mix of girls and boys;
68% of the images are assessed as the most severe forms of abuse.

Hotline.ie said the 2,575 sites have been removed from the internet and law enforcement were informed.

The report said analysts found that perpetrators have not abandoned old platforms for the latest technology and trends, and that CSAM is being distributed across all digital mediums.

It said a continuing trend from previous years was the prevalence of disguised CSAM websites which only reveal the imagery when accessed following a predefined “digital pathway” of links from other websites.

Reports of online child abuse images hit 'record highs'

One anonymous report led to a website advertising links and descriptions suggestive of child sexual abuse, each leading to hundreds of images and videos.

In total, 21,798 images and 1,583 videos were manually assessed and classified and 8,132 images and 1,132 videos were classified “as the worst of the worst” child sexual abuse material.

A fifth of the websites showing CSAM included a paywall alongside “preview” images to advertise so-called “premium access” to further abusive content subsequent to payment.

Around half of the 10,733 reports were deemed not to be illegal. They included 775 cases of age-inappropriate child posing, along with 631 cases of extreme (violent) adult content, and 3,150 cases of adult pornography.

There were 315 reports relating to financial scams and 89 relating to racism. Of these, 13 reports were classified as financial scams. Some 17 cases involved dehumanising racist commentary and “white supremacy” type content, and were classified as racism and xenophobia.

Justice minister Helen McEntee said: “Recent years have seen considerable increases in the number of reports being received and actioned by Hotline.ie.

"2019 saw a 79% increase in such reports on the previous year. On the one hand, this reflects increasing public engagement with the service, but on the other hand, it potentially demonstrates a concerning increase in illegal online child sexual abuse material."

Sixteen kids rescued, 44 Australians charged and a paedophile ring smashed: Police bust child abuse syndicate and uncover videos showing girls as young as 18 MONTHS being raped and tortured

By SHIVE PREMA FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA
PUBLISHED: 20:54 EDT, 22 October 2020

Sixteen children have been rescued and 44 Australians charged after the Australian Federal Police smashed a paedophile ring.

Men aged 19 to 57 in every state and territory except the Northern Territory allegedly shared child sexual abuse material using a 'a cloud storage' company. They have been arrested by the Australian Federal Police on 350 charges.

Six children were removed from harm in Victoria, another six in South Australia, two in Queensland, one in New South Wales and one in the ACT.

One of two men arrested in Eagle Vale, NSW. Men aged 19 to 57 in every state and territory except the NT allegedly shared child sexual abuse material using a 'a cloud storage' company and have been arrested on 350 charges as part of the AFP's Operation Molto

Some men were allegedly abusing children themselves, filming it and sharing the videos online.

Others allegedly shared sickening videos that showed girls as young as 18 months old being raped and tortured.

The child abuse material was seized by police, including videos produced by Australian paedophile Peter Scully, who is currently serving life in the Philippines.

The AFP labelled Scully's abuse material as 'the most abhorrent produced'.

In Queensland, the 11 alleged offenders include a police officer, security guard, bicycle repair man, demolition contractor, tradesman, student, transport worker and the unemployed.

Victoria's 11 alleged offenders include a forklift driver, hospitality manager, student, construction manager, truck driver, shelf-stacker and the unemployed.

A suspect is arrested by AFP officers in Blacktown in Sydney's west. Some men were allegedly abusing children themselves and filming said abuse before sharing the videos online

The nine alleged offenders in South Australia include a reservist, a wood and metal worker, a videographer and a restaurant worker.

Meanwhile, the eight alleged offenders include a fleet services manager, IT consultant, forklift driver and retail services worker in NSW.

A Tasmanian consultant and student were arrested, a school secretary and health and safety worker were charged in WA as well as a computer programmer in the ACT.

A man is arrested in Fairfield in Sydney's west as part of Operation Molto. Some charged men allegedly shared sickening videos that showed girls as young as 18 months old being raped and tortured

Operation Molto began late last year when the AFP were tipped off by a US intelligence agency about an international paedophile ring.

Thousands of men around the world shared child abuse material on a cloud-based storage system as part of the ring, some of which they produced themselves.

The Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE) has received 21,000 reports of child exploitation in the last financial year, compared with 14,000 reports the previous year.

A 70-year-old man was arrested and charged with two counts of possessing child abuse material obtained through a carriage service in WA and faced court on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a Ballarat man, 22, also faced court on Thursday charged with using a carriage service to possess child abuse material and accessing child abuse material using a carriage service.

A Sydney man, 25, was arrested and charged with nine counts of using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material and eleven counts of possessing or controlling child abuse material obtained or accessed using a carriage service against section.

He was refused bail at Mt.Druitt Local Court on Thursday and is next due in court on December 16.

AFP Sergeant Joel Van Den Brun said demand for child abuse material is increasing.

'If you access or trade these videos and images online, or pay to watch a livestream of children being abused in another country, you are complicit in the physical abuse of children,' he said.

'The AFP and our partners are committed to identifying anyone involved in the harm of children, whether they are in Australia or overseas, no matter their age or personal circumstances – police scrutiny is at an all-time high.

'It's only a matter of time before we come knocking on your door.'

AFP officers gather evidence at an address in Rutherford, NSW. AFP Sergeant Joel Van Den Brun said demand for child abuse material is increasing

Evil paedophile who sexually abused children in Sheffield
during the '80s and '90s convicted of catalogue of crimes
..
A man who sexually abused four children in Yorkshire for years
is finally to be brought to justice
By Susie Beever
Friday, 23rd October 2020, 5:07 pm

Paul Andrew Degenhart was convicted at Sheffield Crown Court today (Friday) of a catalogue of child sex crimes which took place in the 1980s and 1990s.

Following three days of deliberation by a jury, the 48-year-old was found guilty of 33 out of 34 charges of various sexual offences committed against children in Sheffield, including rape and attempted rape.

Police hailed the convictions as a victory for Degenhart's victims, who showed "tremendous bravery" recounting the horrific details of their abuse to authorities to bring him to justice.

Degenhart was found guilty of 33 offences – 20 counts of indecent assault, six counts of indecency with a child, four counts of rape, two counts of buggery and one count of attempted rape.

Buggery is no longer an offence in British law, but people are still able to be charged with it if it relates to offences which occurred before it was repealed in 2004.

Detective Constable Helen Barrett, who led the investigation into Degenhart’s crimes, said: “I wish to firstly commend the victims in this case, who have each demonstrated tremendous bravery in relaying to the police details of their horrific sexual abuse.

“Degenhart refused to accept responsibility for his crimes, meaning those victims have also had to recount before a jury the awful things that were done to them as children. They carried themselves with dignity and were very courageous throughout this process.

“The jury has seen fit to return guilty verdicts on Degenhart’s awful crimes today, such was the strength of the victims’ evidence put before the court. He groomed and abused his victims, repeatedly subjecting them to sexual violence and threatening them not to tell anyone.

“Degenhart has been convicted of serious sexual offences and I hope the victims are able to take some sense of closure and justice from this.”

Degenhart has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday 18 November.

Nottingham man caught after ‘unwittingly sharing
3,000 child sexual abuse images on-line’

A man who downloaded more than 3,000 child sexual abuse images and videos was caught by police after unwittingly sharing them on-line.

Neil Storer, 51, was caught when hundreds of incriminating files were shared from his IP address – the unique code assigned to each internet connected device.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police were alerted when Storer’s IP address was used to share material on an illegal peer to peer network – often used to share illicit content between offenders.

Storer, of Burnwood Drive, Nottingham, was arrested when his former home address in Watnall was searched by police on 23 January this year.

After forensically examining a laptop seized at the scene specialist officers uncovered some 3,036 photos and seven videos of child sexual abuse – some of it graded in the most serious Category A.

When he was interviewed by police Storer revealed that he was unaware that the images he had downloaded and later deleted could in turn be downloaded by others.

Appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday Storer was sentenced to nine months in prison suspended for two years for three counts of making indecent images of children.

He will also be placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of ten years and will aslo have to complete a programme of rehabilitation.

Detective Constable Andrew Taylor said: “Behind every one of these images are vulnerable children in various parts of the world who are being abused by adults.

“By downloading and sharing this kind of material offenders like Storer are directly contributing to a cycle of abuse that can have a devastating impact on the lives of victims.

“Nottinghamshire Police is committed to tackling this type of crime and we will do everything we can to find those who share indecent images of children.”

Alleged child rapist charged with abusing girl, 11, who was so terrified when he was let out on bail she took her own life is REARRESTED over the suspected rape of a girl, 5

Peter Frederick Humes, 66, (pictured) is accused of sexually abusing 11-year-old Annaliesse Ugle - who took her own life after Humes was released on bail the same day he was charged over the alleged crimes

See, 'Poor, Abused WA Girl....' above.

An elderly man who allegedly raped young Indigenous girl Annaliese Ugle, leading her to take her own life, has been arrested on further child sex abuse charges against a second victim.

Peter Fredrick Humes, 67, was arrested in Western Australia on Friday morning and charged with 17 new offences relating to an alleged sexual assault on a five-year-old girl.

Humes was charged last month after Annaliesse identified him as her alleged abuser, but he was released on bail the same day.

Insane! Why would a judge do that? Why release him at all, let alone, back into the community where he was a threat to that little girl? Is it madness, stupidity, or racism? The judge should have to answer for this call.

So scared was the youngster after finding out her alleged abuser was back in the community that she took her own life earlier this week.

Annaliesse had allegedly suffered abuse at the hands of Humes between November 2019 and May 2020. After her devastated mother and relatives began a campaign for a change to WA bail laws, a second alleged victim of Humes came forward.

On Friday morning, Humes was rearrested and charged with assaulting the five-year-old girl between August 2018 and May 2020.

Annaliesse Ugle (pictured right, with her mother centre and sister left) died earlier this week. Her mum said she was a 'bubbly' child who desperately wanted to get away from her regional community after her alleged abuser was released on bail

The 17 new offences included four counts of indecent dealing with a child aged under-13, four counts of aggravated common assault, persistent sexual conduct with a child, three counts of deprivation of liberty, threat to harm, and possessing an indecent or obscene article.

He's also facing charges of possessing meth, failing to use adequate storage facilities for a firearm or ammunition, and not having a licence for a firearm or ammunition.

'He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today (October 23) and police will be opposing bail,' a police statement read.

Police also alleged electronic devices were seized during a search of Humes' home in September. 'Analysis of these devices identified images of an indecent/obscene nature,' the statement added.

Humes was previously charged with five counts of sexual penetration of a child and six counts of indecent dealing with a child, in relation to Annaliesse's alleged abuse.

On Thursday evening, it emerged a third girl - a relative of Annaliesse's - had also allegedly been subjected to child sex abuse at the hands of a different man.

OMG

The relation was allegedly abused by an elder, Harry Nannup, who in August was charged with three counts of sexually penetrating a child and indecently dealing with a child, but released on bail.

He has since been hit with new child sex charges, among which are those relating to a five-year-old girl over an eight-month span this year. Nannup was remanded in custody following a court hearing on Thursday.

Annaliesse and the friend had bonded and supported each other over their alleged shared experiences, the 11-year-old's mother Samantha Wilson told The West Australian.

Annaliesse's devastated family on Thursday called for new laws stopping alleged child sex offenders from roaming the streets as they gathered to mourn the youngster's death after her life support was switched off on Tuesday.

At a vigil for the young girl held on the steps of Western Australia's Parliament House on Thursday evening, more than 100 mourners gathered to pay their respects and call for 'Annaliesse's Law'.

A photograph of Annaliesse - labelled with the words 'forever young' - rested at the top of the parliament steps surrounded by dozens of candles as family members wept and released pink balloons to remember the 11-year-old during an emotionally-charged gathering.

The proposed legislation will keep anyone charged with a child sex crime behind bars while their case goes to trial.

'I want the Parliament to put legislative laws through in Annaliesse's name to protect other young children on her behalf like she should've been protected,' her mother Samantha Wilson said.

Family members wore shirts reading 'Justice for Annaliesse' as the vigil began with mourners shouting that phrase as they marched in front of the government building.

The Ugle family had earlier given Daily Mail Australia permission to picture and name their little girl in the hope bail laws may be changed if the country can see her face.

The Western Australian Premier has described Annaliesse's death as an unfathomable tragedy.

'It's very, very sad. An 11-year-old girl taking her own life is beyond description,' Premier Mark McGowan told reporters on Thursday.

'I have an 11-year-old daughter - it's beyond understanding.

'There'll be a full coronial inquiry into these matters and the child abuse squad is obviously continuing to investigate the matters. It is just a human tragedy.'

And a completely unnecessary one!

Man, 25, allegedly pretended to be social media star
to blackmail 112 girls into sex acts online

A 25-year-old man from Western Australia has been charged over the alleged ”sextortion” of 112 girls in multiple countries.

Police allege the man pretended to be a teenage social media celebrity to befriend the girls before blackmailing them into performing sexual acts on camera while he and others watched.

One alleged victim, a 13-year-old girl in the United States, told police a person she had met online and believed was a 15-year-old boy had started asking her sexually explicit questions. They then sent her a screenshot of their conversation edited to make it appear she liked his sexual fantasies.

He then allegedly threatened to send the screenshots to her family and friends if she did not meet his demands before forcing her to take her clothes off and engage in sexual acts while he and others watched online.

Police will allege in court the man used similar methods of deceit to blackmail other girls in various countries into providing him with sexually explicit images or videos.

Detectives from the Western Australia Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (WA JACET) were able to identify a man from Parkwood, in Perth, as the person allegedly running the social media accounts.

Police raided his home and seized several electronic devices, including a mobile phone, computer hard drives and USBs.

An initial review of the devices allegedly unearthed more than 2000 images of girls, most of them sexually explicit.

Review of hundreds of social media chats stored on the man’s devices, and others provided by US Homeland Security, which was able to tip-off Australian investigators as to the man’s alleged activities, is under way. Further charges may be laid.

AFP Detective Senior Constable Barry Duman, from WA JACET, said police would allege some of the evidence seized included text conversations and videos of the girls pleading for the man to leave them alone, detailing their distress, fear and humiliation.

“This type of online exploitation and abuse is devastating and can cause lifelong trauma,” Constable Duman said.

Or suicide!

“We will do everything in our power to ensure children are protected from predatory offending against their innocence.”

The man has been granted bail but is not to access the internet or any online service for a purpose except banking, employment or seeking legal advice.

He is not able to have unsupervised access to any children under 16 and has surrendered his passport.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) attache to Australia Adam Parks said online child exploitation was a “borderless crime that requires a borderless response”.

“As such, HSI is grateful for the exceptional work of the Australian Federal Police and WA Police for identifying the alleged offender, which may enable the start of the healing process for the victims,” he said.
