The drug culture that has taken hold of the world is madness personified. It is almost always that kids pay the price for the madness of men, but with drugs, that price goes right through the roof.
Suspect says he wanted to "do something sexual"
with 9 y.o. Gino the moment he saw him
Donny M. knew he wanted to “do something” to 9-year-old Gino van der Straeten the moment he saw him walking in Kerkrade on the evening of 1 June 2022, the 24-year-old man said in court on Monday, NOS reports. “It was like a switch had been flipped. My focus was only on him. I wanted to do something with him. Sexually.”
This is demonic possession at work, IMHO.
M. is on trial for abducting, drugging, sexually abusing, and killing the 9-year-old boy. Gino disappeared from a playground in Kerkrade that day. M. was arrested three days later and told the police where to find Gino’s body, wrapped in garbage bags and dumped behind a burned-out house near M.’s home in Geleen. M. confessed two years ago, but the investigation took a long time because the man’s story did not always match the trace evidence.
During the first hours of the trial today, the judge discussed the runup to Gino’s abduction with M. The man said that he was supposed to work on 1 June 2022, but instead took drugs and drove around in his car in Zuid-Limburg.
He spotted Gino in Kerkrade in the early evening and followed him to the playground, M. said. He spent some time playing football with Gino until the boy said he had to go home. “I told him I would take him home. Then I think he grabbed his scooter and we walked to my car.”
According to M., Gino started to panic when he didn’t stop at his sister’s home, where the boy was staying. M. told Gino to sit on the food of the passenger seat, so that he would not be visible. “But when he did not, I got angry.”
Gino cried and screamed. “I went completely crazy from all that screaming,” said M. Because of that, the man stopped at a swimming pool in Landgraaf, according to him, intending to leave Gino there. He took Gino’s scooter from the car and noticed a woman staring at him. M. said he was afraid Gino would tell her he had been kidnapped, so M. left the scooter and took the boy with him.
The prosecutor asked M. why he didn’t get Gino out of the car first if he wanted to get rid of the boy so badly. “I didn’t think like that,” M. said.
M.’s questioning will continue on Monday afternoon. The court booked four days for the trial. On Tuesday, M.’s personal circumstances will be discussed and victim statements will be presented. On Wednesday, the public prosecutors will explain their view of the case and demand a sentence. On Friday, M.’s lawyer will speak and the suspect will have the last word. The ruling is expected on November 27.
Maastricht Univ. shuts down "mindful nest"
after students use meditation space for sex
Maastricht University has decided to remove the Mindfulnest meditation pod from its Arts and Social Sciences faculty after complaints that students were using it to have sex. Some students took the instruction to “Do whatever feels good” on the sign next to the pod too literally, the university newspaper Observant reported.
The Mindfulnest - an almost soundproof cabinet with a bench, some pillows, and a tablet to play soothing sounds - was placed in a lounge where students can study and relax in the spring of 2022.
But due to complaints about students having sex there, many don’t want to use it anymore, calling it “unhygienic,” among other things. The director of the faculty agreed to have the nest removed “as soon as possible,” the university newspaper wrote.
The meditation pod was financed with government money intended to mitigate the consequences of the coronavirus disaster. Because that money is no longer available, it was already scheduled to be removed in March next year.
Maastricht University already had two other Mindfulnest units removed, but a spokesperson stressed that it was for “business reasons” and not because of complaints.
The university will look for alternative ways of offering students opportunities to relax. “We are working on VR glasses for yoga and meditation,” the spokesperson told Observant. “An additional advantage is that it is no longer a closed cubicle, so you know for sure that it is used correctly.”
Do they make pornography for VR yet?

Trial starts against Dutch woman accused of
enslaving Yazidi women in ISIS caliphate
This week, Hasna A. from Hengelo will stand trial for allegedly enslaving two Yazidi women in the ISIS caliphate in Syria. “It is the first case in the Netherlands in which someone is prosecuted for crimes against the Yazidi community that were committed by ISIS,” lawyer Brechtje Vossenberg, who is representing the victims in this case, told EenVandaag. For security reasons, her clients’ names will not be released.
Hasna A. left for Syria with her disabled son in 2015. She was eventually repatriated by the Dutch government from a prison camp in November 2022 as part of a group of 12 women and their 28 children.
Two Yazidi women who were held in the caliphate have testified that A. enslaved them, forcing them to work in her home and care for her disabled child. “It is charged as a crime against humanity,” Vossenberg told the program. Slavery is punishable in the Netherlands, the lawyer explained. “But the hallmark of a crime against humanity is that the crime is committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack against a civilian population. In this case, that is specifically the ISIS attack against the Yazidi community in northern Iraq in early August.”
During the ISIS genocide on the Yazidi people, thousands of people, mainly men and boys, were slaughtered. “Thousands more, mainly girls, unmarried women, women with children, girls from the age of 9, were captured en masse, enslaved, and transported by ISIS to other parts of Iraq and to Syria,” Vossenberg said. “The entire ISIS policy was aimed at dehumanizing these people. They did whatever they wanted with them: girls and women were enslaved, used as sex slaves or slaves in the household. They have been through an awful lot.”
A. is also being prosecuted for involvement in terrorist crimes and putting a minor in a dangerous position.
Dalal Ghamin (28) grew up in the Yazidi community in the north of Iraq but had to flee from the ISIS violence. She will be following the trial closely. “It is very important to us,” she told EenVandaag. “On the one hand, it is great that someone is finally going to appear before the judge. On the other hand, we think it will only be a few years in prison at most and we do not think that is justified.”
“Everyone has seen how bad it was for us. Thousands of people have been murdered. Over 6,000 women and children were taken and used as slaves. More than half a million people went on the run,” Ghamin said. “There is no right punishment for what they have done.”
There is a 'right punishment' for what they have done, and for those who are not completely repentent, God will ensure that they receive it.
