Former UK pop star Gary Glitter is charged with 8 sex offences, crimes involving women who were aged 12 and 14 at the time between 1977 and 1980. Females aged 12 and 14 are not women, they are girls.
The singer, whose real name is Paul Gadd, was first arrested by British police in October 2012 over allegations of sexual offences and evidence gathered by the police has since been handed over to prosecutors.
